Thank you. What is up Babes, Andy bendy here welcome or welcome back to my channel in today's video. I want to talk tips that help me become a successful braider and make that money. I'M talking gang clientele grow my social media, all the things that helped me. I want to help you guys today's video is sponsored by trendy Tresses. They sent me their River curls in the color t1b27, so it's like an ombre golden brown color. I'M going to be doing my hair while talking help me, which is going to be a challenge, but you know what we're gon na get through it. We'Re gon na get straight into these tips because I need to Spill the tea quickly. Parting that I'm going to be doing is gon na, be four rows in total, and so like split in half two rows up here. Two rows down here and I'm gon na be switching over to my trimera. Actually because I can't see, but let me turn you around okay, you guys know me and my trusty tried mirror. Let me bring it down to my level per all right. Let'S get into tip number one tip number one is going to be make a portfolio. When I say portfolio you could use Instagram Twitter. You could literally use any platform that you please, but as long as you have one specific place where your work is going to be showcased, because how are people supposed to know that you're offering any of your services if they can't see a picture of them right? So you would think that that would be a given, but it's actually really easy to kind of forget to do that, especially if you get caught up in social media and everyone's making funny entertaining type content, you could get caught up in not really posting your work. So that people can see oh hey, this is what this service provider is offering, so just making sure that you have a portfolio of some sort somewhere on your page. Um on your Instagram is gon na help a lot, because because people need to know what they're getting themselves into, if you don't have any pictures, they're not going to know, therefore you're not going to get as many clients. Okay y'all. If you see this tattoo right here or if you see this, whatever is right here, this is my tattoo that I'm lasering off my body and a video is coming for sure. Definitely because it's actually working, this is kind of like not what it usually looks like, because I just came from a treatment, so my skin is still in the healing phase. But when I tell y'all that my tattoos are literally disappearing, it's been a two-year process, though, but I'm gon na put you guys on. But if you see this, you don't see it tip. Number two is going to be to actually physically go where your ideal clientele would be so, for example, I just graduated college, but when I was first building up my clientele and I first just started my Brady business, I actually went on campus and I was passing Out my cards like nobody's business for me, that would have been my college campus being that I'm a college student and my target clientele was going to be on campus. So you know what I had to do show up on campus and walk around and promote myself shamelessly. But you know what it actually worked out for me because I was gaining the kind of clientele that I was looking to reach. So college students left and right were like. Oh, you braid your hair. Let me try to book an appointment. Let me try to tell my friends to book an appointment figure out who your ideal audience is that you want to be targeting and actually go there. So let's say you want to Market your braiding business as a luxury braiding business right. You need to go where the luxuries at okay go to the mall, go to affluent neighborhoods and just walk around and promote yourself tip number three is to post regularly. When I say regularly, I can't even say it when I say regularly, I mean at Whatever frequency works best for you, but you cannot go ghost. You cannot go ghost on social media, because that is how you Market your business. Think about it. Would you go on someone's page see that they haven't posted for five months and then proceed to book an appointment? No, so be realistic. You have to show up for yourself and your business, and you have to do that by posting. Regularly closed mouths, don't get fed. You might think like, oh, that might be annoying. I don't want to harass people, it really is. Not people will be so quick to forget about you and your business okay, so you have to be out there put yourself out there and post. I would say a few times a week is really it: some people go every day, Some people post multiple times a day, but for me that frequency is just a little overwhelming for me. Just figure out what works and you can post anywhere Tick. Tock Instagram YouTube something just so that your potential clientele can know that you're actively working on your business and you're actively taking appointments. Four kind of piggybacks off of number three and number four is going to be while you're posting regularly. You want to constantly update your availability, so let's say you had a cancellation that day or another day and you're trying to fill the slot, hop on your story and say: hey. I have a cancellation. I have an appointment saw available because a lot of the times people are looking for a last minute appointment and I know as a braider it's kind of hard, at least for me to operate last minute. I don't really like picking up last minute appointments so sometimes I just won't say anything but, like I said, closed mouths, don't get fed. If you want or need that slot booked, you need to speak up so post on your story. Hey I'm available today. From this time to this time, I'm located here message me: if you need an appointment and a lot of the times, people will dead ass. Do it because they are looking for someone to do their hair at that time, all right, y'all, my hair is now in all of the rubber bands. I look crazy. I look like the doll from Rugrats tip number. Five is going to be to offer stamp cards to your clients. So let's say you have a few clients here and there, but you're still trying to work on getting more of them. You want to offer those clients that you have the little stamp cards I'll insert a picture right here, so every time that they come, they can get a stamp, and then you can offer a free or discounted service once they reach a certain number of stamps. Now you might think that this is not as effective as it is, but trust me, it really is. Personally, I haven't tried it yet, but I have been a customer of an establishment where they offer me discount cards. I sometimes lose them, but you know they always offer me another one, but it kind of just reminds me. Oh I want to book another appointment or if I see it in my wallet, oh I want to go back this month. Maybe offering those discounted stamp cards is a way to get your clientele to return back to you to book another service, you could stamp them. You could like hole, punch them like the Polar Express. It was just a way to kind of show your appreciation as well to your clients like. Thank you for returning. Please return again. Here'S a little. I just choked here's a little gift from me or you. You know what I mean here. They are. You can't get out of there, you can see each curls or each curl is like individually separated already. So we have a curl, I'm gon na take my latch hook here. All right, I'm gon na take a curl. I'M gon na take my latch hook. I'M gon na insert it put the curl in the latch hook, close the hook and pull it through and then I'm going to pull one side through. So it's like teetering ew. That word sounds weird and I'm just gon na twist it together for the curls, I'm gon na gently separate a piece gently because you don't want it to like frizz too much. I'M going to gently separate a piece like this and I'm gon na clip it out of the way and just leave it out. Slit your hair in half and twist make sure you're twisting in the direction of the curl and once you're done with the twist. Take down the curl and boom all right. This is how it's looking so far. Number six is going to be to partner with complementary businesses, so that means lash text nail techs, estheticians um literally. Anybody in the beauty industry is who you kind of want to partner with. So that means, when you book an appointment, ask them hey. Are you okay? If I film this, are you okay, you know giving me a shout out: can we kind of collaborate together? Maybe work on a project like if you were to work with a lash Tech. You do a models or they do a model's lashes. You do their hair vice versa. You can really apply this to anything but link up connect, Network and collaborate with those people so that both audiences are kind of drawn to it because believe it or not, braiding is a part of the beauty industry. I know it's kind of like not new, because you know braiding is as old as time, but I feel like it's kind of new for the world to consider braiding as a part of the beauty Community, but everything else is Nails. Lashes, even regular hairstyles that you cut color dye, so braiding definitely is considered a part of the beauty community. So you need to use that as leverage and collaborate with other Beauty service providers. For me, for example, I have a few friends that are lash text. My mail, Tech, who does my nails, I shout her out, you know it would be really easy for me to ask her: hey: let's collaborate, hey, let's work together, so that we can ultimately build clientele for each other. Everybody in the beauty industry, I think, needs to work together. This is not a competition. Okay. This is not a competition. There is space for everyone all the time, because whoever's located in one city isn't going to be available in another. Your content might be different. You just need to figure out who you can collaborate with and make it work. Next is number seven, and that is going to be to offer three or less services so that you can become a master at them, rather than being average at a whole bunch of different styles. For me, for example, I started off offering braids passion twists and faux Locs, so those were the three styles that I decided to focus on and just rotating. Only those three allowed me to become a master at all three versus offering braids locks, passion, twists, ponytails, sew-ins um, any other styles. You kind of want to focus on three or less honestly, the less the better so that you can become good at what you're doing quicker number eight is to bring your business cards with you everywhere you go and I'm talking everywhere, something that I did when I Was trying to grow my business at first was place. My business cards inside the beauty supply store so a lot of the times. If you go to beauty supply stores, you might not even notice this, but sometimes they'll just have business cards on what is it called by the counter by the register, just because people have asked them to and it's not like? No, we can't promote your business because, ultimately, you booking that service that They are promoting is probably gon na make you come back to the beauty supply store. Why not ask them if you can place a few of these cards around their store or if they have like bulletin boards I'll insert a picture of one card, listen y'all! This card has been in this spot. It'S a smoothie spot right has nothing to do with braids, but this card has been in this spot for four years, y'all four years. Isn'T that crazy? I literally put it there and nobody has moved it and it is like not even on the bulletin board like I like stuck it on the top and it's like faded and old, but I'm just surprised that it's been there for so long fine bulletin boards, like That when I was in school, those kinds of ballistic boards were everywhere with people trying to promote their business or services. So go ahead and add yours to it, because chances are somebody's gon na wander up to that board, or maybe your card is very eye-catching. Someone'S gon na see it and your services will be booked or something that my boyfriend, who is a barber I'll link his information right here. If you guys are interested - or if you know anyone that wants to be a barber, he just got a DOT card. So that is basically a digital business card, which is like crazy to me because you go ahead and you tap it with your phone and it pulls up all your links, all your information, all your everything, please dot. Please sponsor me like that would be so freaking cool. This card is twenty dollars. They have the digital card that you can put in your wallet or they have like a little circle that you can stick on the back of your phone and have people tap that instead, I'm on the last one y'all wow, the time is 202 and I got One more left, but on to number nine number, nine is going to be wear your brand. So I folded because I'm not wearing my Indie bendy Bridge shirt, but I did get a shirt made that says: Indie bendy braids and you could even do one that has your brand logo a cool funny phrase or something that's like eye-catching or a conversation starter, so That again, you are shamelessly promoting your business and there's no, you shouldn't be in be embarrassed. You should really want to rep your company. It'S your business. Is your baby, you know so wear your brand and I had my t-shirt made for maybe like 10 20 dollars depends on where you go depends on what you have printed, but the budget shouldn't be too bad and you can even DIY one if the budget is An issue so go ahead, have something made and rep your brand, because if you're not gon na, do it who's gon na do it and that ties into number 10., let's put some moose so tip number 10 is to hire ambassadors or have your family and friends. Rep, your services, if you have the budget or if you're, willing to invest in your business and hire someone to model your Styles and promote it on their own socials, that is definitely an option. There are so many aspiring models, influencers people who would love to have their hair done for a discounted rate, or you know if you're really trying to get started. You might just have to pay someone to model your Styles or for free. You know it really depends on what you're going for what the budget is, what your goal is, but having ambassadors for your business is really good, because these people are going to not only model the style but when they're out and about because they are an ambassador. They are going to speak good things of your business and you can even give them a few pointers to mention when people do ask about their hair and your socials or even your business cards, so that they can refer people to you. A big reason why. I think that my business took off in college was because I was doing a lot of my friends a lot of my family and because those people love me, I hope, I'm kidding, because those people love me and because they're very supportive of my business, that I Was trying to grow, they would really rep my brand, but if you don't have a lot of friends or maybe you're, not as close with your family members, there are definitely people out there that you can hire or collaborate with to promote your company. I'M gon na follow up by trimming the ends a little bit so that everything is nice and even and there are no frizzies but yeah guys. This is the finished. Look with my jumbo parts, quick little style. Well, quick! If that's what you want to consider it! Those are all the tips that I have for you guys today. I really hope that they helped you out or if you learned something new, that you can Implement to your business today. I really hope that you can and don't forget that I believe in you all right and you have to believe in yourself. First of course, but don't forget that I believe in you it's possible. It might feel intimidating that other people are moving at a different pace. Don'T worry work at your own pace. Everything happens in due time with consistency, determination, effort and faith. That'S it bye.
