Hey you guys welcome to the new and improved tomorrow tv all right, you guys so in today's video i will be showing you how i slick down my 4c short hair into a little ponytail. So to start the process, i always start on clean hair. My hair is fully clean, i'll give you guys a quick 360.. This is what we are working with and to start off, i always go in with some conditioner water. In this bottle i have some cantu leave-in, conditioner and only water. Those are only two things in here and i will start by adding some straight to my hair and massaging it in so. The next step is for me to detangle my hair, i'm going to be using the wide side of my comb to detangle my hair and i'm just going to go straight in and detangle okay. So now that my hair is detangled, the next step is for me to go ahead and add the ponytail. So to add my ponytail, i will be using a scrunchie. I never use rubber bands because rubber bands are pretty bad for 4c hair type, but honestly for any type of hair. It just adds way too much tension and it causes a lot of breakage. Scrunchies are much softer on the hair, so i will be using a scrunchie i'm going to comb my hair back being as though we are doing a little ponytail. All right, you guys. So this is the ponytail that i am working with, as you guys can see, it is very, very small and i have lots and lots of hair that is left out that isn't in the pony. The next step is for us to go ahead and slick down. The hair for me to be sticking down my hair today, i will be using the 24 hour edge tamer by even or ebi in new york. I got this edge control from my local beauty supply store. I will do my best to try to find it online to leave a link for it for you guys, but you could use whatever as control you prefer. I know we all have our preferences, so i'm just going to start off with an amount like this and i'm just going to apply it straight to my hair. Going back so, while i am slicking down, my hair is very very important that i um use a comb to slick back my hair, just to make sure that the edge control is distributed evenly. So i will be using the smaller side of my comb and just going straight back to make sure that all of my hair is getting covered with the edge control. All right, you guys so now that my hair is slicked back. The next step is to take the bottom of the ponytail, the bottom back of my head and slick that up into the ponytail. So of course, i'll be going back in with my edge control and just applying that in an upward motion. Just so that it could blend in with the rest of my ponytail, all right, you guys, so the next step is to make sure that the ponytail is nice and sleek. In order to do that, you want to go in with a brush, preferably a hard bristle or firm, bristle brush and just literally brush, in the way that your hair is being formed. So in this case, we're brushing back all right, you guys so now my hair is nice and sleek i'm going to go ahead and do a 360., so you guys can see. So the next step is the funnest part of the application, and that is literally just adding the pony all right. You guys so the ponytail that i will be using today is a puff ball, that i got from my local beauty, supply store, um and to show you guys the application on how i apply it first off this is a drawstring ponytail, as you guys can see It has combs here in the front, it also has combs in the back. You can tell where the back is, because the back has a tag, and it also has the drawstring so to apply this ponytail. You want to add the first comb, the combs in the front. You want to bring that into the ponytail in the back here. So i'm not sure if i can get you guys to see this, but i can do my best. So you want to take the clips the comb and apply it right to the front of the ponytail and just dig it right on in then. You want to take the back combs right here and dig that into the bottom back of the ponytail and clip it in then. What you're going to do is take your drawstring and tighten it so that the ponytail is nice and tight next, what you're going to do is take your drawstring and you want to add a bobby pin onto the bottom of the drawstring, just like so and you're Going to wrap your drawstring around the base of the ponytail, and once it gets to a point where you can no longer wrap it, you want to stick the bobby pin into the base of the ponytail and go ahead and fluff out and boom. There you go. I'M going to do a 360., so if you want to make your ponytail more secure, you can do so by adding more bobby pins into the base of the ponytail. I personally want the top of the ponytail to be a little bit more form to my head. So what i'm going to do is i'm going to take a bobby pin, i'm also going to take off a little piece of the ponytail. So here is the little piece i'm working with i'm going to pull the ponytail up and close to my head and then i'm going to add the bobby pin to the base of that hair that i took out and just fluff the rest of the ponytail. And there we go so now it's a little bit more secure as well, so the last step is for you to lay your edges, and this step is totally optional. Just for the sake of today's video, i will be laying my edges just to complete the look. So, in order to lay my edges, i do go in with the same edge control that i use for the rest of my hair, along with an edge control brush, and i just go straight on into laying the edges. What i do first, is i start off by pulling down all of my baby hair, i always work on my hair. So what i'm going to do? First, i is loop with a brush first and then i use my finger to smooth all right. You guys so i finished laying my edges and here is the completed look, so i will come up closer, so you guys can see. So i love doing these ponytails so much as you guys can see. I have a longer one, and i also have like a mid-sized ponytail. Both of them just have different looks, and i really like the different looks that they provide. I just wanted to show you guys the looks of these ponytails just to show you how diverse and interchangeable they are. I do switch up my ponytails often, and i wanted you guys to see how they look all right, you guys, so that is it. That is how i slick down my short 4c hair into a low ponytail. I hope you guys enjoyed the video and found it informative. If you know anyone with short hair who's. Looking for some guidance on their hair, please feel free to refer them to my channel. Robin F.: I hardly ever comment on videos but I want to thank you for this. You changed my hair game for a couple of reasons. First my hair is short like yours and I absolutely hate Eco Styling Gel. I believe Eco styling gel is what made my hair come out, but that's another story. Next I had been trying to brush the edge gel in but you said comb it through. Girl!! My hair at this moment is snatched in an updo and it took no longer than 15 mins. I see you haven't posted in a minute. I hope you are okay. #prayingforyou
