Hi, it's Molly welcome to Colgate glamorous hair channel. I'M super excited about today's video. Today'S video is going to be two different types of ponytails, one, a little bit more sleek and one that is a bit more. Undone, I'm gon na be using extensions for this video. I love extensions with the ponytail; they just think it's so full and pretty this is my 18-inch set and, as you can see, I already have them styled to match my hair. One of the things that I love about. My extensions is that I specially designed them to have five pieces that you can pull out and easily put into a ponytail. It'S called the ponytail pack to make your ponytail longer and fuller, and now you don't have to buy a special, separate ponytail. It all comes with in the extensions now. This is my preferred way to do my ponytails. I know that there's also so many other great techniques, so I'm gon na link a few videos below that show different ways to clip in your extensions for ponytails from other bloggers that I love - and this is my preferred way, so what it's good to check out A few of them and see what works best for you. Let'S get started, I'm going to clip the front part of my hair out of the way so that I can clip my extensions in at the crown of my head. I'M going to take my first three-inch piece and I'm going to clip that in just like. I normally would clip in my extensions when I wear them lower on my head as a full set, I'm going to take down the next thin layer so that I can cook all my extensions comfortably on top of my head when I'm clipping my extensions in I Make sure that the clips are not overlapping so that the hair will all lay more flat when I pull it up into a ponytail. So I'll clip one piece in the middle and then the next piece I'll move a little bit farther over to one side. And then the piece after that I'll clip in a little bit farther over to the other side, all right, it is ponytail time so grab a hair tie and your brush. So you can smooth out the sides and pull everything up into your ponytail. I'M going to grab a small piece of hair to wrap around the base of the elastic just to hide that elastic band and make the ponytail look a little bit more polished. You can either just tuck the hair underneath the band or grab a bobby pin to pin the hair in place. So here's a look one. This is the more sleek ponytail and, as you can see, it's just really nice and smooth I'm going to be using. This is a root touch-up powder and I'm gon na just be using this to fill in a little bit of my hairline. If you feel like you have a few little flyaways here and there, you can always just take a drop of oil and just smooth everything. Nice and quickly down - and here is the finished. Look. Alright, let's move on to ponytail look number two, I'm actually starting with step two here, because my extensions are already clipped in. So if you were starting fresh, you would want to clip your extensions in first and then save a small piece of hair out of the front I've been pulling my ponytail together, I'm making sure that you can see it from the front of my head, because I Do want this to be a nice high ponytail. Now I'm going to take down that hair that we'd set aside and divide it into two sections and the back section I'll, be teasing very gently starting at the base to create texture. I'M going to grab a clear elastic band and use that hair that we didn't tease to cover up the teasing. I'M going to be gathering all my air back into the ponytail and wrapping that clear band around both the front section of hair and the ponytail. I like to rake through that front section with my fingers just to make it look a little bit more undone and now I'm going to grab a section of hair from my ponytail and wrap it around both the clear band and that black elastic again just to Make the ponytail look a little bit more polished and I'm going to be securing that piece of hair in place with a bobby pin. Now I'm gon na go in and smooth some of my baby hairs all round by just adding a little drop of texture cream and you can use whatever is left on your fingers to smooth your natural hair. In with the extensions working in small sections, I'm going to backcomb the hair at the base of my ponytail, I'm gon na take the thin side of my teasing comb and pull that into the base of the ponytail and just pull everything forward. This makes the teasing even bigger, I'm spraying, a texture spray right over where we just teased to lock that teasing in place and don't be nervous to brush your hair out as well, because it will get p0 throughout the days and don't be afraid. If your extensions and your natural hair are not exactly gelling, go get your curling wand out and just crawl those pieces together so that the whole ponytail looks seamless. Here'S the finished. Look for the high voluminous ponytail here are my tips for your best ponytail one. If possible, try to wash your hair either the night from the day before, because for me, ponytails always work better. When my hair is a little bit dirty and if you do need to do a ponytail unclean hair, that's okay, because you can absolutely use either a texture spray, a texture, paste or a dry shampoo to mimic the grip that you're the dirtier hair would give you To definitely try filling in around your hairline, I was really surprised the difference that it made the first time I did it, and now I can't do a ponytail without filling and around my hairline. It really makes a big difference. You can either use the root touch-up spray like I did, or you can just use your eyeshadow that matches your hair color from an eyeshadow palette. So that's another really easy option and if you do that, just grab a little hairspray to set it so that you don't have any eyeshadow that comes out and runs down your face. That would not be good. The third and biggest tip, I think, is make sure that your ponytail is visible from the front if you're doing a high ponytail and it's even just an inch too low, it can sort of give you the almost fake. You look bald, so even just moving your ponytail up an inch can make a really big difference in how your ponytail looks so just make sure that when you're looking in the mirror, you can see your ponytail from the front and my final tip is: don't be Afraid to tease your ponytail at the base, the first time I did it. I was like whoa. How have I not been doing this my whole life? It gives you mega volume right there and obviously that can be done on the first book, the sleek ponytail. I did today too, those are all my hot tips. Thank you so much for watching.
