Hello, beautiful people welcome back welcome to it is your girl Zenita, and i am back with another protective style. So if you guys are interested in seeing how i went from thick to slick then just keep on watching first things. First, i wanted to go ahead and show you guys how i prep the hair. I always get questions asking me: how do i get my hair to look blow dried or how do i blow dry, my hair and nine times out of ten? I do not go in with heat when it comes to getting my hair to be stretched, so i wanted to go ahead and share with you guys my process, especially my process from moving from one style to the next. So i'm starting off on a fluffy old bantu knot out. If you want to see the tutorial for that look, check me out on instagram and you can get all the deets so once i've gone ahead and sectioned my hair off, i'm going in with the my black is beautiful, tangle tamer y'all. This has become one of my favorite products to use, especially if you do not know, i love to avoid wash day, i'm avoiding wash day clean. So i love to be able to switch from starter style, and this stuff just helps me be able to go ahead and detangle my hair without needing to actually have to use water and revert my hair back, especially if i'm going into a stretch style. So i like to use this and then for this particular look since i am going for a sleek look and i want to make sure my hair is really nice and detangled. I go in with my Kazmaleje detangling brush, which is a little bit wider to help get rid of the overall knot and then i'll go in with this denman brush from pattern. Beauty - and this is what really helps smooth everything out and gives me that blown out effect, and this is what's going to help us get the smoothest base. So once it's all detangled, i'm going to go ahead and twist this section up. I particularly like to do kind of like a rope twist method when it comes to stretching my hair um just temporarily, but i find that if i do just a regular two strand twist, it will still allow my hair to kind of shrink up a bit. So i like to go in and do kind of the rope twist method. Oh my god that is giving me such a tangled teaser rope, twist rope twist enunciate okay, enunciate okay. So once it's all twisted up, i'm gon na go ahead and move on to the next section and repeat the same thing i don't know about y'all but some days i look at my hair and i'm so grateful for how full and thick it is. But in times like this, when i got ta go ahead and detangle i'm just like dang like you have a lot of hair girl, we really have to go in and use some elbow arm strength to detangle these strands like dang, but anyways i'd rather be doing That than spending the whole day washing my hair, amen, amen when i am switching from start to style. I like to really go in and make sure that i avoid as much breakage, especially since i am detangling on dry hair. So if i have like a twist out or a braid out in this case, an old bantu knot, i'll go in with my fingers and really just get rid of any of those defined curls that are still there. This just avoids me going in and combing out knots that are originally just going to pull out my hair and then i'll go in with the um Kazmaleje brush, followed by the pattern demon brush to go ahead and smooth everything out and that's why that tangle teaser Is really good or that tangled tamer, oh, sweet, baby jesus? I can't speak today. Oh my god, you know what i'm gon na leave it in. You know i'mma leave it in. So that's why i go in with the tangle tamer to go ahead and just get a little slip on my hands and then go in and detangle the section. So once everything is all twisted up. This is how we looking i'm gon na quickly. Do the other side off camera like okay, now, right after i finish, detangling the entire head, i'm gon na go and move into the second form of stretching. I do this, especially for the styles, where i am doing a slick back. Look if i were going into braids or twists or something like that, i would just leave the sections as is, and then work with these sections. But since i'm particularly going in and doing a slick back, look i'm going and further stretching my hair by getting rid of all the sections and pulling it back. This is going to help stretch the roots, so i don't have to go in and flat iron or blow dry or anything of that nature. So i can get it as smooth as possible and i'll just go in. This is why it's important to detangle with that demon brush and i'll make sure that i just brush it all back. This is only possible if you detangle properly people okay, so you want to make sure you detangle properly and then i'll go ahead and secure that with a scrunchie and then i'll go back in with that pattern brush to make sure that my ends are nice and Detangle - and this is gon na help - me kind of decrease the amount of volume as well in my hair and i'll braid. This section up, so i'm gon na go ahead and do the same thing to the other side. Once that thing is slicked, strapped braided back. I'M gon na go ahead and let this set for at least an hour. If i do this, the day before i like to let it set overnight and i'll use, my satin scarf to make sure everything stays nice and neat once i've gone ahead and let this set it's time to go ahead and work on this ponytail all right. So once i've unraveled the braids, i'm going to go ahead and give my arms some a nice good old stretch, because even though we prep this hair, putting it in a ponytail is always a good workout. For me, she is thick and she likes to. Let me know that, okay, regardless of how much i stretch for my part, i decided to go in with the zigzag part. I don't know for some reason with the fact that my face is a bit more router middle shapes just really highlight that. So i find that, if i just you know spice it up, put a little zig put a little zag, it just adds a little pizzazz. So i'm just going to go ahead and make my part and then i'm going to put it in a fake little ponytail. This is just going to help, so i can kind of get the base. So i can set my hair in place, so i'm just going to put this into a ponytail very, very loosely, and then i'm going to go in with my styling product, which is the got to be glue free spray. I find like this really works, especially with textured hair, when i'm trying to achieve a slick back look without having to have my hair revert back, especially if i'm trying to blend it with hair. That is not necessarily the same hair texture or replicates blown out hair, texture um. The only thing i was really missing was my blow dryer with the with the concentrated nozzle. That'S what i was really looking forward to, but i still was able to achieve the look. I needed i just went in and held down the pieces of my hair as i sprayed it so that it kind of set in place. But i definitely will say that if you have a diffuser nozzle or a blow dryer really going in and just setting it in place really makes this look a lot easier and it really holds the shape. So once i've gone in and pretty much gotten everything as flat as i can get for the first part, i'm gon na go in and officially set my ponytail and i'm not worrying about my edges or the back um, because i'm gon na go in with edge Control later on, to really make sure those are slick, i'm just trying to get the base of my ponytail as slick as possible with the free spray. Once i completed my daily arm, workout routine, it is time to go ahead and get rid of this hair. So this time around, i wanted to make sure that my hair was completely tucked away um, so i decided to go ahead and braid up the ponytail. You want to make sure you braid. This super duper duper tight. This is the case where, if you have shorter hair than me, if you have thinner hair than me, my gosh, my good gracious, this is going to work out beautifully for you. So once i braided this down, i tried to make my bun as small as possible, but i neglected to realize how thick my hair was, which is also why i ended up later on still going back in and redoing my hair. Normally i like to just go in and actually braid my hair with the braids, but since this was one large ponytail, i knew that was going to be way too much hair. So i am taking this pre-stretch braiding hair in the color number two, and this bad boy is 60 inches. I want this ponytail super super duper. Do belong, okay, so you can go ahead and something that also works is the expressions braiding hair. That'S not pre-stretched. Just the braid it comes, as is that one is 80 inches. I actually would recommend getting that one instead um, because i feel like with this pre-stretched hair business um, the pre-such hair it thins out a little bit quicker than i would preferably like, and you guys will see later so first, i'm just going in there were three Different pieces in there, so i took the first one put it underneath and the second one on top and as you can see, your girl, we are already filling ourselves with the inches darling. Y'All see that y'all see the inches okay, so i'm gon na go ahead and first take out a piece. So i can use this to wrap around the base and camouflage the hair. So it can look as natural as like a super long. Adh ponytail is going to look um, and so once i have that piece taken out, i'm going to go ahead and start braiding around and i'm making sure that, as i braid, i make sure that the top and the bottom pieces are concealing my bun. This is where i said: if you have shorter hair, less hair, thinner hair than me, this is going to be a lot easier to um disclose for me personally. I actually wish i well. I knew it would have been a little bit harder for me to braid in with my natural hair, given how thick it was, but i wanted my hair tucked away so it worked for the purpose and how i wanted to protect my hair, but i realized i Should have braided the hair a bit tighter, so that way it would actually make the little hump in the back smaller, because i personally don't like the little hump. So if you braid tighter, it will make that the braid look like it's coming out of the ponytail. A lot closer, even though you have a bun, but this is how the braid ended up looking my bun was completely covered, so i was super super excited about that and i wanted it to look a little bit more loose since i wasn't dipping it. So i'm going in and kind of pulling out um the hair to stretch it out. This way it just falls a little bit better and it's not so stiff, and i continue doing that all the way down and you can really see as i get lower down, where that hair started to thin out and we'll fix that a little bit later on. But right now i'm going to go ahead and just conceal the base of my hair, taking a little bit of that got to be free spray, spraying it onto the hair and then wrapping it around the base. So once i have the braid wrapped up strapped ready to go, it is time to work on these edges. I know y'all were talking about them, they heard you talking about them. They know they see themselves. We got to get them in order. Okay, so i'm going in with this edge control. I believe this is the kiss colors edge control and i'm just going to go ahead and use this to lay my hair down. I'Ve been using this one because i have it laying around but truth be told. I feel like the edge control. That'S really i've been going back to is that edge booster man - it just holds my edges and waist, and i just don't understand. I don't really like the build up, but i definitely feel like it works better than all the imitators, and so that's definitely looks like the top edge control at the moment when it comes to styles, like this, i don't mind going in with an edge control that Isn'T necessarily so aggressive because i like to touch up my edges. So that's why i wasn't particularly fond of using the edge booster for this style, because i do like to redo them and they it tends to have a little bit more build up than i would like make sure you do not forget your kitchen. You do not want things cooking back there that you don't even know of you. Don'T leave your stove on when you're not using it right make sure you clean your kitchen okay, so once everything is all swooped up, sleeked up and ready to go, i'm going in with my satin scarf to go ahead and make sure everything sets in place. Now this is where i'm going to go back and do a little tweaking, and this is just my personal preference - you guys, if you, if your job or your goal, is just to get the ponytail in a little braided ponytail have your hair protected. We did that, however comma i i'm particular okay and i even like my unnatural things, to look as natural as possible. So as much as i was avoiding it, i decided to go back in and add hair, so i'm taking half of one of the remaining sections and i'm going to go ahead and split that in half as well and i'm going to go ahead and basically just Add the hair in i'm using my adding it where my indicator finger is my pointer finger is, i feel like that's how you get it to blend in naturally when you're installing it where that finger is out, but i do not have a specific scientific way of Saying how you should install the hair? This is where i was saying. Sometimes the pre-stretch hair as convenient as it is. I feel like it's just best to use the expressions long 84 inch braid, because it's consistent throughout at least a regular pack is consistent throughout and some of these pre-stretched days stretching it to jesus or the devil. I don't know they just stretching it all the way down, and it just does not look okay. So once i have this bad boy, braided up, i'm going to secure it with a rubber band first, because i still want to go in and kind of pull out. The hair so that it looks really fluffy and it's not super super stiff after my braid - is all fluffed up to my liking. I'M going to quickly trim the ends so that way, my the end of the hair does not get caught on everything and trust me. Y'All, i actually did end up getting my braid caught on something in the store like she was trying to shoplift, and i was so embarrassed. But i went in with my elastic qp setting foam and i use this to kind of set the braid, but mostly for the ends, because i want a little curl y'all know. I can't do that that basic okay and i'm taking this flexi rod set using the horseshoe method and i'm going to split the halves and just wrap it around each side, closing the ends by just folding them and once i've gone ahead and dipped this bad boy. In hot water beat my face a little bit get a little cute, let my edges set and sweat. Okay. This was the final look. You guys rupunzel with the bundles, got them flowing down her neck, hello, hi. Who is she okay? We really went from thick to slick you guys. It was definitely a process, but it was so worth it. I hope that you guys enjoyed the tutorial mishap arm, workouts and all as always, if you're loving me, if you're, loving, rapunzel z, do not forget to subscribe down below so y'all, never miss and upload and i'll see all you beautiful people in my next video bye Loves

Maybe a wet rag and a quick wipe down of the edges in between can help prevent buildup? ‍♀️ I really just wanted to say thank you for this easy and convenient tutorial, cause my hair curls back really fast from edge controls and gel is out of the question in these braided ponytail styles.
