She Came For A Ponytail And Left With A Bob!

we were supposed to do a ponytail today on my little cousin and once I saw the condition of her hair, I had to change the plan!

Hey everybody: it is the morning time, while i'm doing these voiceovers, so hopefully my voice, don't sound too gangsta, but this is my little cousin moochie. Yes, i have a lot of cousins and, as you see her hair is completely see-through. She came in to get a ponytail today, but uh. I ain't. Let her go out like that. We gon na get this hair healthy today. So you already know what it is. Her hair is full enough that she can get a bob. Now i'm gon na go in first with the hot comb. Now i'm not using my electric hot comb, i'm at the shop, so i might as well use old, faithful she not even jumping what a g is. I'M definitely the hair stylist that's going to get every nook and cranny like i want to hit everything and the crazy part is it's going to curl back up soon, so i don't even got to be doing all of this, but i want it straight for the Style now, i'm just parting out the first section to be able to start cutting her bob. Now, as i parted this first section, i noticed that her hair is broken off underneath almost like she had an undercut, that's growing out, but she didn't so she's. Like don't talk trash about her on this video, so i'm going, i ain't gon na grind her up, but what i am gon na do is just talk about broken hair back here. So a lot of times your hair can be broken in the bag. For a number of reasons, i had one client whose hair was just always broke off in the back, and i couldn't figure out what it was and come to find out. One day i just was like: do you wear wool like wool? Anything and she's like yeah? Wear a wool sweater at work and literally that's what was rubbing her hair out. Wool will take your hair out um, just always wearing ponytails can break your hair off in the back. Like all kind of things can give you broken hair, so have to pay attention to the type of things that you're doing to your hair that may be affecting it in certain places. Now for the second section, she does not want her hair, as short as that. First section: so i'm just going to go in and make the next section the length that i want to buy a few more reasons that your hair can break off or your diet can break your hair stress will definitely break your hair off. I'Ve been through that before uh. If your hair is not moisturized enough and it's dry, it breaks. Um heat damage, it'll break down your hair, and just you know you know what he damaged. It do uh some people use chemicals or colors so over processing it to do it um just how you deal with your hair, like i said before your ponytails like, if you have broken hair in the middle, your ponytails or your ponytail holders could be doing it. Just from overdoing it uh also, some people have thyroids that mess with their hair eating disorders just all kind of stuff. I really think that my cousin's reason for her hair breaking off, especially in the back, is the fact that she always wear weaves and she gets her hair braided a lot and it's a lot of pulling and tugging at the nape of her neck. And it's a lot of re-tightening and you know if you're not taking care of your hair in between your installs. This will happen. So you have to get your ends. Trim. You have to pay attention to what's happening to your hair in between installs, because if you don't, then, when you finally look at your real hair you're in trouble so - and you got to do something - drastic like this - but it's all good because it's going to be Fine y'all already know i'm using my her strands of hair shears and you can get those at her strands of hair dot com. Now that i have got the base of my cut down and the shape, and i'm just going to add a little bit of layers. Just to make sure that it's a little fluffy, i don't want it super flat. I don't want it to start super flat. Should i say i wanted to start with a little volume uh and then it could, just you know, lay over time as it gets oily. You know when you wrap your hair with a soaker sand, scarf it'll get oily in about three or four days, or at least it should. I have a lot of people. That'S like. Oh, my hair gets so greasy and it's like listen. Would you rather get dry? Like i get it trust me, i'm like i hate it, because your hair seems like it's getting old fast, but the honest to god truth is if your hair is getting oily within the first couple of days, it's because it's in a healthy space, so those natural Oils are coming from your scalp: that's why you have to wear super satin because it pulls the natural oils out of your scalp onto the hair. However, if you use cotton or sleep on a cotton pillowcase, it pulls the oil out of the hair, so it dries your hair out. So that's why you're supposed to use silk or satin instead of cotton on your hair. Now i'm just going to go in and bend it a little bit with my 22 titanium iron. They are back out of stock. I'M sorry if you missed the last drop, but they'll be back soon, hopefully um soon, because last time we was going through it. But this time we should be good, but yep, i'm going in on 4 10 a lot of times. I forget to tell you the temperature that i'm using, but today i'm using 410 and i'm just going to press it out and i'm up bump the ends. Remember that bump the ends: okay, i'm just going to press it out and i'm just bending it because it's going to be a little fluffy and rounded when i'm done, but by time she wraps it tonight and go to bed and wake up in the morning. It'S gon na be like flat, so it's gon na be sexy, always remember, while pressing the hair to only go over each piece of hair. One time it's called a pass. One pass is all you need. When you go over the hair more than once, then you start compromising the curl pattern and breaking down the integrity of the bonds of the hair. So you don't want to do that, because then your hair won't curl up again when you wash it so make sure that only one passes all you're doing, and you only want to press your hair once every. I would say couple of months for real for real um. I have clients who come every two weeks, but it's okay, because that's what they're into they like straight hair and that's fine, we're not going to harass people for whatever option they choose for their own hair. I need everybody to remember that, like everybody's entitled to do whatever they want to do to their hair. So you know if you want to wear it both ways. I would say every few months is good enough to press the hair and as long as you do it right or you have the right stylist in your head, your hair will be fine. Look at that. It'S looking like a totally different head of hair already. So much more healthy with those bad ends off it's like. I know a lot of people want to hold on to their hair, but there's really no point like i said she came in and we were gon na do a ponytail first and once i saw it, i'm like we just gon na have to go in and Fix it and the truth is, i could have still cut it and didn't put the ponytail in, but it's like, why not enjoy your hair and look at what it's really capable of. So that's what that was the purpose of doing a bob and styling it. Instead of just letting her leave with a ponytail now her hair is healthy again and she is able to you know it's the dead of summer, so she can go. Put her extensions in now do ponytails all of that, but i just recommend that she gets her hair, trimmed at least every eight to ten weeks and keep up on it and don't let it get back in a bad space like it was before, and she'll be Good, her hair would grow, it'll grow, healthy, it'll, stay, full and it'll be perfect. Y'All know, i'm gon na always end with the glass brilliant shine. Put that all over the hair. You don't need much because it travels and she is done. Oh, let me hit the edges a little bit. I ain't putting no edge control, i just leave it with the edge brush and this is pop. I don't know you think she happy. Let'S see, let me let y'all see how she felt when she saw it. Oh, she hide look. How cute my cousins are. I mean i'll, be calling them like. Let me do your hair for my channel and they like all right. It'S perfect. Thank you so much for watching guys. I know i say every time, but i can never. Thank you enough for watching my channel, and i will see you next time.

DOPEaxxPANA: Heyyyyyyyy Cousinnnnnn *Me trying to find out how we related so I can get my hair done*

Lisette Virella: I just love how gentle she is! I have super thick curly hair and I hate when a stylist is mad rough with my head...like damn I go in for a trim and leave with a broken neck

Nancy Duermeier: That's what I am looking for: stylist who thinks about your hair, shape of face, how to care for it. Great job!! Looks beautiful!!

Amani Scott: “She not even jumping, what a G” I’m deceased

Sherri Baldwin: I’m a middle aged white woman who is in awe of your hair transformations!! They are so relaxing to watch and I’m always so amazed at how beautiful and healthy the hair looks at the end! ❤️

You’ve given me an entirely new way of looking at their hair I always admired their hair I never understood what they had to do I excepted what they had to do but you made everything so clear thank you so much for educating a 71-year-old white woman...You did good for your cousin girl. Stunning absolutely stunning

Nancy Dewar: I just wanna say I’m here to learn to take care of my lil nieces hair and be a good auntie love this channel

Cindy Williamson: She looks beautiful and that smile tells everyone how happy she was with her new hair style. Awesome.

Mishka Mental: You can tell the stylist is a liiiiitle Bit of a perfectionist. Every little section is perfect. She doesn’t miss a thing. The parts have parts

Eddie Danrith: I'm so touched that you mentioned that thyroids can mess with your hair! I tend to shed more hair than the average person because of mine but I've never heard that acknowledged in a hair video.

art nerd: I’m half Indian half white, so yeah my hair is a little Thic and curly, but mainly white girl hair. I have so so so much respect for black girls and the process they go through to maintain their hair, it truely look gorgeous and you did a great job on your cousin she looks stunning!! The fact that she did not flinch once is amazing

Erika M: Her hair looks so beautiful. I love how you explain everything you do.

mintkandi22: This is the prettiest bob I have ever seen on pressed, natural hair!

Kriste Lane: I feel like you're the kind of woman who could give a hug that will cleanse a whole soul.

Maria Zavala: That was a whole ass transformation! Her hair was stunning, you’re an amazing stylist for putting her needs before any style that could have potentially damaged her hair further! This is why I love your channel ❤️

Wayne: I love the haircut, it’s adorable! I enjoyed the tip for the breaking off of the hair because I put my hair in a ponytail everyday and while I was watching this I had my ponytail and as soon as you said that my scrunchie flew out of my hair.

Ciara Evans: I feel like you always have your clients best interests at heart and from your commentary on many videos, you seem like a genuine and kind person. You deserve all the love and subscribers! Also, I’m happy you explained my silk and satin are better because I never knew the reasoning behind it.

Aliyna Sophia Rose: She actually really cares about the clients she has and not there money. ❤️ She is amazing

Sara Romanoski: I hope this doesn't sound disrespectful, but I am a white girl with the straightest, finest, blonde hair, and while I can't relate to the gorgeous hair in the videos, you are one of my absolute FAVORITE YouTube channels! I love your videos, your delivery, the care you take, and the hair always comes out looking stunning! I also learn a ton! Thank you so much for such awesome content!

Hi: "always wearing your hair in a ponytail can cause it to break off" *slowly takes ponytail out*

Melanie Wrenn: I love it when you do these transformation videos. Her hair is beautiful with all that healthy bounce and shine. It must be very rewarding for you to see your clients' reactions when they see their hair.

Aaliyah B: The way she cuts hair is so satisfying she is good at everything❤️ I appreciate her, for helping others it's amazing

Maddelutten: Loved the smile at the end! Thank you for the info about cotton vs satin, I actually changed my pillowcases to satin a while ago and my hair is better! Who knew... thank you ✨

Nadia George: I feel like it’d feel so nice to get my hair styled or played with by you. It looks so relaxing

Uhh Lyssa: Guys I think we’re all cousins... we all need our hair done

aram83: I'm guessing this was recommended to me because i've been on a brad mondo binge lately out of nowhere. But her attitude, explanations, up close view of what she's doing, and demeanor is so pleasant. The title got me to push start but watching this was so satisfying and I want more lol. Love when I find a good channel

belle jarvis: k wow this is seriously amazing! you’re so talented and knowledgeable! i currently go to hair school and i LOVE coming to your page to learn more about ethnic hair and being able to watch someone do it!! grateful for you!!

Constantly Tired: Her hair is so pretty! It looks so healthy, soft, and shiny.

Vivian Surname: I've stopped straightening my hair. It shrinks at the touch of the slightest moisture/humidity. It looks great but I can't keep spending $50 on something that I can only wear for like 12 hours.

Just_ A_Person: My anxiety would NOT be able to handle that hot comb I can’t even handle a straightener lmao

CC: Her hair looks beautiful. What a difference. She doesn't need extensions. The style is fantastic.

Tabitha Whitley: She said “she wanted a ponytail but I couldn’t let her go out like that.” Lol but for real she put love into that haircut. Always choose health first and your hair will thank you.❤️

Angela Hagood: Gorgeous! Every video I watch is better than the last! Love her expression when she saw her final look. You treat every client as if they’re the only person you have that day! I hate when I feel like the stylist is on production and I’m being herded through like cattle. Thank you for your pre-video quotes. We can ALL use more thought provoking encouragement! ✨

Tray&marley vlogs: I love how gentle you are with your client's hair.

Martha Ugulu: "We are not gonna harass people for whatever style they want for their hair" Yaaaz sis!!

Elizabeth R.P.: This was so relaxing to watch, I feel de-stressed.

Joanne Martin: I have serious hair envy. Your cousin has so much lovely hair!

AW: listen my girl sat there like old school she def not afraid of that flat iron and you def not playing games grabbing every nook and cranny! love to see that you dont just bs and give clients any style they want, you are honest with them and let them know what they need to do first BEFORE getting any color or style. i also love that you always recommend for us to keep our hair covered with a silk scarf. this is MAJOR. i have been keeping my hair covered with a silk scarf religiously for the past like 2 years and i have seen tremendous growth. i am now armpit length again after cutting my hair into a bob almost 2 years ago. and i really think the keys are keeping your hair covered and if you want to tie up your hair use a clip not a hair tie!

Catherine: Her hair is already looking amazing and I'm not even half way through this video! Plus I have to tell you...that watching your hands and the slow and methodical steps is SO relaxing!

Keisha Davis: She is an educator, uplifter, and pure talent. Love watching her. Her clients are so blessed

Lynne Cunningham: I never knew about wool and how it could break your hair. I used to wear scarves around my neck to keep me warm in the winter. Not doing that anymore! I also never knew about the cotton pillow case . This girl is getting a silk pillow case ASAP! Thank you for those 2 awesome pieces of info! I love watching your videos! God bless sister

Kiley Nelson: Absolutely Flawless!!! Loving this healthy gorgeous look

Ja ne: I loved your cousin's reaction on the stunning transformation you made... not only to her hair but to her whole attitude and persona. Stunningly fabulous!

Farah Khan: We can appreciate the fact that she cares so much about the hair and not the money. That's how everyone should be like always

Chassity Oubre: I love this. I have a thinning problem too, especially at the crown of my head. I'm trying the natural thing again (for the 4th time). Hopefully, it can/will help some with my dry scalps and thinning issues.

Amilah Mohammed: ik im like real late but i just love how you take your time with the hair and really make sure its a job well done your a boss that would make anyone smile i just love you hope you stay healthy and safe.:)

kayee: “The struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.” -Chadwick Boseman

SweptAway InPages: She looks cute! And she’s so pretty, and you sound like a really great cousin and hairstylist :)

Adera’sView: Now THIS is a real hairstylist, cares about the client's hair and not the pay always. These people are valuable! Even tho a lot of black american hairstylists are way too expensive in my area, I ave gone to the ethiopians which are amazing as well and affordable. I like to support my people once in a while tho new sub!

Jess B: Wow, what a gift you have! So wonderful to see how much you care about your client's hair and notice small details and go to greater lengths to enhance beautiful hair! Love it, her hair looks STUNNING!

T A: You did such a great job on her hair. I can tell from watching the video that you put your heart into it. Amazing!

lzrd929: I'm not a POC but I LOVE listening to you talk about hair, how to take care of it and have bought my first satin pillowcase because of your vids. My hair journey this past year has been crazy. Went from a short, short style to shoulder length. So much to learn. Keep doing your amazing blessings of work!

kelly unleashedsky: Wow,what a beautiful transition! Hair looks so healthy now

Shearae Simpson: As black people we're always concerned with length but what does length matter if the hair is unhealthy and damaged...

Tara P: Kee, I just have to say that you, and the ladies of Curvy Brides Boutique, are some of the most uplifting and encouraging stylists on YouTube. I love your quotes to open each video, and the fact that never ONCE do you call out a customer for what they did to their hair. Instead, you point out times in your own past you did the same thing because you were either young, or didn't know then what you know now. You allow people to make mistakes, to come in feeling insecure and assure them that they will walk out feeling confident and comfortable in their own hair. Even if it takes more than one visit, you won't give up on them!

kilo: My hair also started breaking as well in the back and middle from wearing it in a top knot bun sleeping with a bun dryness from the winter extreme dryness. I got to my stylist and she gave me a bob cut. I love it! I knew I was going to have one because I hadn’t had a trim and I know my hair tends to break in the back from me not caring for my hair for almost 4 months. But it will be healthy hair all 2021!!

شروق البقمي: Excuse me for intruding on your lesson. I am a white woman I have always had black women friends. You’ve given me an entirely new way of looking at their hair I always admired their hair I never understood what they had to do I excepted what they had to do but you made everything so clear thank you so much for educating a 71-year-old white woman...You did good for your cousin girl. Stunning absolutely stunning

Sov: man your videos just heal my mind in some way, it's so calming and reassuring and it helps me carry on with my day (and the reminders about healthy hair are best)

Sair G: I swear my hair could be on fire and you'd still be calm and handle it confidently. You know your craft inside and out, and I love to see that. The quote at the start was a lovely tribute. RIP Chadwick. Edit: just got to the end - your cousin is so pretty and the style looks perfect on her ❤

R Pierce: Your voice, the music, watching you methodically work is just as good as an ASMR video. Very satisfying. And her hair looks so silky and really flatters her face.

Nikki Smith: Her bob looked SOOOOO GOOD AND HEALTHY!!! I love listening to you narrate the video

Tayla Fauntleroy: The commentary & the resultttt!! Girl you put me right at home with this one she looks gorgeous.

Frances Lock: I never use heat. I wash and condition once a week, get it cut once every 12 - 18 months and wear glueless wigs. It saves time and money.

Pamela Bryant: Excuse me for intruding on your lesson. I am a white woman I have always had black women friends. You’ve given me an entirely new way of looking at their hair I always admired their hair I never understood what they had to do I excepted what they had to do but you made everything so clear thank you so much for educating a 71-year-old white woman...You did good for your cousin girl. Stunning absolutely stunning

just_me_ being_jess: I have a haircut scheduled in two days, definitely going for the angled bob. You have convinced me to do it.

Rain Riggins: As a professional myself, I appreciate your channel! Because as a 25 y/o mixed woman, i wasnt taught how to style our hair type! Your channel has taught me to cut, color, and blow dry natural hair and i thank you SO much! Your channel saved my life, and is grabbing attention into my chair I am now extremely confident working with level 4 hair all around because of your teaching! Btw ima need that flat iron

pinja turunen: I just got to say that i love your personality and how you're being so informative. I have fine hair and this video and its information isn't something that i'm going take into use with my own hair type but i still love to learn about different kinds of hairtypes and what works best for them. Keep up the good work!! Sending my love from finland❤

Chantel Cagle: One of the signs of an excellent stylist is if they can style your hair completely straight and it will look gorgeous. Her hair was so beautiful. Before and after, but it looked very sophisticated once finished. Talent in this video!

PaigetheMoonChild: I have a thyroid disorder and get really bad breakage. I had a lot underneath so las October I shaved it all off, not just cut it, like shaved it doooown. It's grown so much and is so much healthier and thick. It tempted me to do it all over my head but I'm too scared lol
