Luxy Hair Ponytail Extensions (Updated) Review - The Drawbacks & Ways To Style Your Ponytail

This video includes an updated review on the Luxy Hair Ponytail and will show you a few ways that you can style it. Unlike my first video, this video includes the drawbacks of the Luxy Hair ponytail, that I have only since discovered after having it for over 6 months.

What'S up youtube, it's your girl melissa! Coming back at you with another product review in today's video, i will be showing you how to style your luxy hair ponytail. Now i know that that is not really a review, but here's why i'm doing this? I really really love the quality of the hair in my luxie products. However, there are limitations when it comes to the luxie hair ponytail extensions, because they have this little piece of hair. That is intended to wrap around the pony once you've put it into your hair, and so you are forced to wear that same style. Every time that you wear your ponytail and for me that's restrictive, because personally, i'm not a big fan of that, and i realize that it's too high the fact that it's an extension - but that is probably my least favorite part of the product and so on. That particular note it is a review in that sense, because i am doing a follow-up to let you know that i do still love the pony. I still think that it's really high quality, it's nice and thick, the color is absolutely gorgeous. However, it is restrictive, and so i have found a couple of cool ways that you can actually style your pony so that it doesn't have that same. Look where this is wrapped around and the ponytail looks like this all the time. So without further ado, i am going to style the hair, so, as you can see, my natural hair is crimped and i've already styled it. The other thing that you may notice when i go to style this hair is that i have half of my hair in a ponytail in the back. So i'll show you that it looks a little crazy right now. I will explain: i'm gon na go ahead and style the ponytail and get that all crimped. I'Ve got my trusty crimper over here and i will show you that process and then i'll come back and start the styling. So when you style any of your luxie hair extensions, whether it's the ponytail or the actual extension clip-ins, you want to make sure that your styling iron is set to no higher than 250 degrees. Just to make sure that you protect the integrity of the hair. And you don't dry it out, so i have gone ahead and set my heat settings for my crimper. You will notice that i've got the luxie deluxe styler here and i have suctioned it to the table and then i'm just going to take the actual extensions and kind of put them through these combs and kind of tighten that up now when it's the actual clip-ins. It gets a lot closer to the base of the hair, but for right now this is going to be adequate because crimps don't need to be all the way at the base. So we're going to go ahead and start the crimping process from here down, get it matching my current uh hairstyle and then i will go ahead and show you the styling hack for your luxy hair ponytail. What'S up girlfriend, are you new to my channel huh thanks for joining me? Well, if you're enjoying the video so far, please hit that subscribe button and while you're at it hit that notification bell too, so that you can get alerts to the latest and greatest from me. But let's get back to the video okay guys. So you saw me style and i'm sorry. I had to move the styler because i'm right-handed it. It wasn't really working very well on the table, but you can see that the luxie deluxe styler is really nice because it's got the four sections, so you can literally attach it to any glass or tile surface mirrors. Things like that, so i just moved it so that i was able to get the ponytail styled and, as you can see, without any styling product at all. This is how it looks now so a lot closer to what my hair is looking like, and it's just a very soft wave and my hair right now is a little harsh, but that's just because i haven't brushed it out yet and kind of blended. The two together, so i will go ahead and do that process now, so that you can kind of get an idea or how it's going to look essentially like i said the goal is going to be that we no longer have to wrap this piece of hair Around the ponytail in order to conceal this piece because to me this has like a very much like 90s 2000s vibe, and i know that styles come back, but that's just not a style that i'm in love with, and i would really like to have a ponytail That doesn't have that excess wrapped around it. What i do and bear with me, because i am filming this myself - i don't have a camera person. I am just going to simply where this ponytail starts. Tighten it and then there is this clip here in the center. I'M just going to line that up with the ponytail and kind of put it into place. Then i'm going to close it like this is my ponytail, so simply velcros together and then that piece instead of wrapping it, i'm just going to kind of lay it there. So you can kind of see the craziness right now of what that looks like all right. So now that you see that i have placed the extension ponytail into the smaller ponytail on the back of my head now, what we're going to want to do to conceal that kind of pony wrap piece? Is we're actually going to take the rest of my natural hair and we're going to incorporate it into the ponytail, so we're going to take the rest of what's left here and underneath and actually make or build a ponytail around that now there is a disclaimer to This you will need to have medium to long hair for this to work. So if you have a blunt bob or even you know medium length bob, this may not work as well, because you're going to see the length of your hair surrounding a longer ponytail. For me, it's going to just look like layers and it's going to look natural, like that's part of my haircut, but for people with shorter hair. This may not work so maybe just grow your hair a little longer sis, if you need uh tips or advice on how to do that. Definitely check out my viori video right here, because girl that will get you right, because viori really really helps to grow. Your hair, quick, fast and in a hurry, but let's get to the style. So i have got kind of like a center part and i sort of want to maintain that just a little bit and i'm going to leave some of my hair in the front out - and i have been blessed and cursed with crazy amounts of baby hair guys. So you're gon na see lots of little flyaways. I got some moroccan oil to try to fix that when i'm done, but for right now it's gon na look crazy, crazy, okay! So i'm just getting all of the hair and i sort of want, like a messy kind of lumpy intentionally. You know lumpy messy pony. I know that sounds weird, but you can make this any height that you want like. I could have done like a higher style. If i wanted to, but i wanted to go with a low pony and then once i've got this in here, it is so hard to get all of the hair around okay. So once you've got the ponytail kind of put together, so you can see that my pony is good. Obviously you can style any way you want. It doesn't have to be crimped. I just i really like, like a wavy crimpy. Look, it's just pretty to me. I'Ve always liked it, and even when it's not in style, i will continue to rock it just because it is one of the looks that i like the most. I have a little bit of moroccan oil on my hands right now and i'm just kind of working. It through the pony to sort of fuse my hair with the luxy hair extensions, so that it looks natural and i've got kind of some like little wispy. You know front pieces so now there are just a couple of ways that you can conceal the little piece that is kind of hanging out right here. This is actually that wrap around piece now, one of the ways that i think is obviously super effective is you could just do like a super cute messy bun like i could literally take my hair and wrap it pretty much, however, and pin it and i'm not Going to do it because that's not how i'm going to style, my hair, but like literally just about any kind of bun or messy hairdo, would do it. The way that i think is super cute is, if you simply loosen both ponies and you're gon na have to tug quite a bit until you create a hole at the top. You can literally flip all of that hair and it's going to feel really tight, because you've got lots and lots of hair that you're pulling through. But now you've got kind of a really really pretty kind of a topsy tail kind of take in the brush and lightly putting some of these little pieces of hair. When i turn around, you can kind of see like this is like totes wedding here like i could totally see like a bohemian bride rock in this just really really easy and super natural and seamless, and it's really comfortable. It doesn't feel super heavy. What i will say if you wear the ponytail as directed by luxie hair, where you kind of put that little strand of hair around the pony and you just like, hang it on your head, it feels pretty heavy. So i prefer a lower pony or an extremely high mid ponies are kind of hard because it, like literally feels like you're, carrying an extra head of hair on your head. So that is, in my opinion, the easiest way and i feel like the most classy. Look. It works well for just every day. You know it's really cute bohemian style. I could add a headband. It would make great holiday hair wedding hair. You know if you're, in a wedding, going to a wedding, you know if you just have naturally like a bohemian style. It would be really great. You could potentially even like take the hair, that's down here and do like a fishtail, braid or any kind of braid. Really you could do the same exact thing that i just did and do it to the side and then have like beautiful flowy hair along one side. There'S just ultimately so many different looks. I don't know if you guys watched my liaison mascara and brow bond video, but the little bubble, ponytail that i did to the side was actually my luxy ponytail extension as well. So it just goes to show that there are different ways of going about styling. Your pony, if you're, also like me and don't like that little wraparound piece, i think that it turned out really nice i'd, love to hear in the comments how you think it turned out and if anyone watching has the luxie extensions, i would absolutely love to hear How you are styling them if you have an instagram i'd, be glad to give you a follow and take a look at some of your styles once again, if you are new to my channel.
