Half Up Half Down Quick Weave Ponytail Ft. Ali Pearl

Thank you guys so much for watching today's video. I have a special guest. This is my best friend Marissa, hey is a current continental hair student and she is going to snatch my hair today. We'Re gon na do a half up half down quickly. You guys have seen us on my channel before she's been on here plenty of times, but she does have her own natural hair channel so check out her channel. I will list everything in the description box down below, for you guys, but anyways we're just gon na get started. Okay, so the first thing that she's gon na do is take a rat tail comb and part my hair in the center. So we can create the parting for the quick weave as well as the ponytail. On top, my hair is freshly shampooed deep, conditioned and blow-dried, and I am transitioning, so I have about three inches of new growth right now. So my hair is thick thick thick thick thick at the roof: okay um, but she slayed this hairstyle anyways she's gon na part, my hair in the center and then she's gon na create smaller parts to cornrow my hair straight down, so that the quick weave lays Super flat, she's gon na use some Hix edges. This is my favorite edge control for my hair and she's just going to start braiding. My hair down in the back Hix holds my hair very, very well. For some reason I don't know what it is but Hix. It'S like my go-to edge control and she's just using that to braid my hair, I was tearing that Oreo down, okay, I'm she's gon na braid, this other section and she's also gon na sew up that middle braid, that's kind of sticking out and just to make Sure that nothing is kind of hanging below Maui's, you know so now I'm gon na use some heat protectant. I will put everything that we use in this tutorial down in the description box. I need everyone needs to use heat protector before straightening their hair, but I used two different kinds. I will list them in the description box down below, but anyways um she's, just gon na straighten my hair very plain and simple. I believe she's the chase method sometimes, but this flat-ironed that she has is so good guys. She did like one, maybe like one or two passes on each section, and she just was really mainly by focusing on the roots, because my roots are thick thick thick, like I said before, and she's just going over my hair just so that we get that sleep Laid look, you know next Mercer is gon na. Take my electric hot comb and she's going to get those baby hairs on the edges. This is crucial for me because, like I said, I'm transitioning and my hair will not be laid, especially my edges. If no hot comb is used, okay, like it will not work, so she just laid those down or kind of straighten down with a hot comb, and then I'm just pulling them out with a meadow rat tail comb just to get the edges out before. She actually lays down the ponytail she's, going to use Murray's edge, no more ease, beeswax, I'm gon na say edge wax, but it's the beeswax, the plain original, beeswax and she's, just gon na put that around the perimeter of my head, leaving my edges out so that I can do them later and she's just going to apply a good amount of that, and this is gon na hold my hair in place for days for days. I love using beeswax because it doesn't make your hair stiff, but then it makes your hair shiny and it holds like it works perfectly for my hair and if I were to put a water-based gel on my hair, anything water-based. At this point, my hair will revert now she's just gon na brush my hair up into a ponytail and just kind of make it as flat as possible. Now, she's, just gon na quickly put the top of my hair in a bun she's, trying to make it cute, but it doesn't even have to be cute. She was getting that out of the way so that we can tackle the back, which is the quick weave for me. I love using Miracle Grow for my quick weaves because it protects your hair, so this black stuff is a hair protectant so that the glue does not get on your hair. You don't have a hard time, washing your hair out getting the glue out of your hair and all that this is like a nice protective barrier or layer so that your hair does not get glue in it. I'Ve used this for years. I used to do this. All the time like in high school and it works so well. Your hair just washes out when you are ready to take the quick weave out. So you just layer that all over your hair, I like using the whole bottle, because I wan na make sure my hair is protected. And then I take like an old cap wig cap, and I apply that to the back so that we have like another protective layer so that the glue you know may or may not get on my braids. It probably will, but we still have that nice miracle-gro protected on my hair, so that nothing, you know get to my hair and I don't have a hard time washing it out. This is just a really really protective way to still do your glue ends, but not to damage your hair. At the same time also make sure you pour some of the product on top of the wig cap so that it attaches to your head nicely and you don't have a problem with it lifting and then you just blow dry it for about 10 or 15 minutes, And then you're ready to lay your tracks down. My friend is going to cut the back of the cap so that it doesn't lift up, and I don't have any issues with it like bothering my neck or anything or you know being a mess. You just want us to be as neat as you can possibly get this in today's video, I'm gon na be using the Ali pearl curly hair and their hair is so beautiful. It'S perfect for this style and their bundles just feel like butter. I really really love their hair and all I'm gon na do is use the 30 second Salon Pro glue and we're gon na start gluing these tracks down very simple, very easy, and it's just a really really quick, easy style to do. You know, and she's gon na lay the tracks pretty close together so that I can fit a couple of bundles. On the back of my head. I have a small head. I think we fit probably like one and a half bundles in the back or maybe two. I can't remember, but yeah she's, just laying them pretty close together. You have to blow dry them for about, I would say 30 seconds and then after that, you're good to go so now we're going in with the second bundle we use the 26 inches in the back of my head and we're just going to start. You know applying the second bundle and blow-drying it as we go so once you get to the top, you have to lay this track a little bit differently. Once everything is almost closed up, you have to take the last track, make it the same exact size as that part, do not lay this track in the part, but lay it right. Next to the trash you had just laid down, so you want to flip the track backwards and lay it on the edge of all of the tracks that you just laid down. It'S really hard to explain, but you just want to flip the track over so that you don't see the actual track, basically putting the track on upside down, and it makes it so that the parting is invisible. Now what she's gon na do is start braiding. My hair and she's going to tie it into itself to create a small little bun so that we get it ready for the ponytail on top and she's gon na use, like two rubber bands just to hold that in place. Next, we're gon na use the 24 inch bundle for this part and we're just gon na start wrapping the hair around the bun first, what you want to do is apply a pin to the end of the double weft we doubled it and you place the pin Right on top of the bun, I like doing my ponytails this way to me, it's easy. We had a hard time. I don't know why we were really tired. It was like four o'clock in the morning, but I put it right on the top of my bun and then just start twisting the hair around that little tiny bun. But as you twist it down, you want to bring the hair further further down the bun and you just keep tying it around the bun and I don't like to pin my ponytail too much. I'Ve never had an issue with my pony, so it's coming off my head, but I just like to pin them more towards the beginning and more towards the end and now, like any other traditional ponytail, you just take a little bit of the hair to wrap around The track, because you don't want the track to show she sprays a little pump it up on it, so that it'll stay in place and just brush it so that it could look a little bit more sleek and then at the end, she's gon na add up Into it, that's it now, I'm gon na take some Hicks edges, my favorite edge control and I'm gon na take a flat old toothbrush and I'm going to start laying my baby hairs. There'S no specific way that I do mine. I love to kind of sew whoop. It and then hold it down in the center so that the swoop just becomes really fluid and nice. I don't really know how to explain it. I just like to do little swoops and then kind of drag it. Don'T know how to explain it. Yeah everybody does their baby here, it's different. I guess you guys can just watch me do it. So, since my hair is transitioning, I have to lay my hairs down with a head wrap. So I'm just applying this head wrap and just leave this leaving this on. For about 10 minutes so that my edges can set and lay down and stay in place, while that setting I'm going to pull apart the hair so that it's a little bit bigger and the curls aren't as together. I just wanted it to look a little bit messy and undone. You know so. I love this hair. It was really really soft. I'M running my fingers straight through it and it's so nice, it's so cute, so yeah guys! This is the final look of the hair. I love this style. I love love, love it.
