Can I Still Do A Ponytail At 7 Months Post Relaxer On Transitioning Hair?? Let'S See (Afro Puf

Here's my transitioning hair at 7 months post relaxer and I was wondering if I could slick my hair up into a ponytail so that I could do an afro puff with a drawstring ponytail. I also go thru the video in a down-to-earth, talk-through style while giving a mini update on my hair.

#transitioninghair #afropuffdrawingponytail #7monthspostrelaxer

Hey everyone, so yesterday was squash day and today i just got my hair up in this little raggedy ponytail, with the wrap around it. But today i'm actually trying to do a bun. I'M gon na do like the apple puff ponytail using this right here, and so i have not done like a ponyta or a bun in so long. So i figured that i would give it a try today. I am seven months post relaxer, so i'm just going to show you what my hair is looking like all right, so um, i really haven't been having any problems with my hair. It'S just wash days wash days with detangling are, you know somewhat of a challenge, but i'm going to see if i can get my hair up um. The only gel that i have right now is the eco styler gel, but a lot of people have been recommending that um edge boost. I think it's called edge boost or something so i say the next time that i went to the beauty supply store. I would try to get that one, but for today i'm just have to work with it. So um i'm going to use this africa. Prime. I love miracle. It'S a 7 in one leaf, and i'm gon na use this on my hair just to like re-moisturize it and get it like softened up, get it a little moist and wet, i'm really hoping that this doesn't make it like turn white or anything. I know with the eco styler gel um. It usually does like after a few days, so i have to get like white and stuff, but hopefully this will last me a few days. This smells good, like the the olive miracle brand that well the olive miracle. Version of african pride smells really really good. So, okay, getting my hair, really moisturized, as i can. I'M just gon na do a little a light. Detangle um, it's easy to go through my relaxed hair but like when i get right here. It literally stops like it's not going through. So it's it's gon na be interesting, but i think that that's because the relaxed hair is still on here, if you can tell i have about this much new growth, so maybe like two inches like when it's stretched out, i have about two inches of new growth. So i'm just detangling as best i can, especially in the crown it's it's very tangly and kinky in the crown, but, like i said, i think once i um finally do cut off my relaxed hair. I think the detangling will be easier. Can y'all hear me combing? My hair can y'all hear that, like i have a major afro at my roots, can you see that bounce back so just to give you a quick little to show you right here, so you can see the line of demarcation right in here. All of this is relaxed and all of that right in there is natural so like i would cut if i were to cut, i would cut like right here and if i were to cut right here. This is how much my hair would stretch. Let'S see from here to here, so that's how much new growth i have stretched out. Okay back on topic, so what i'm gon na try to do. I i understand why my mama gave me why she gave me a relaxer. Let'S just put, let's just put it that way: i'm not mad at her, not mad at her at all, because baby um decisions decisions but like i'm, not thinking about going back to like, if, if anybody think of that, like i'm thinking about going back to relaxers, No i'm going to follow this out. I'M going to follow this through. I will cut my hair off before i go back. I love relaxers. I love relaxed hair, but i'm on a different journey right now, i'm going to do this so for the most part my hair is detangled. That'S what it look like. My hair can stand up and out now, instead of instead of hanging time. So what i'm going to do is i kind of wanted the bun sitting up in the middle of my head, i'm just going to use this board bristle brush and just brush just to get it as smooth as i can before. I get ready to put the gel on, i'm just brushing it okay, so i want my ponytail. I want my bun to be about right here, so it's it's kind of like puffy right now, so i'm just gon na try to like go through and smooth it really tight, and then i'm gon na put my hair tie on. I used to use hair ties like this being relaxed, but now i seem like i have to use thicker hair ties like this, so you can already see the side is like poking out all right. Gon na put that up, i don't want to do hairstyles like this often because i notice a lot of tension. I notice a lot of tension around my perimeter and the back. It looks like a little. You see that okay, i'm getting distracted, it's like a little. It was trying to form a little coil right there. Okay, i'm gon na smooth it all back down. I'M going to take my ring off right, quick because i don't want all this gel everywhere and then i'm just going to i'm just going to pack it on. Like i'm literally about to pack this on, i'm not going to try to worry about any baby hairs, i'm past that stage um i do realize i have 4c hair and um edge control. That'S no! It'S it's not going to do nothing! So ain't! No sense of me wasting time for it to like curl up two minutes later, so i'm just going to pack it on i'm just going to keep packing and packing and packing. I'M not going to be scared to use it, because i want this to last. For a few days, if i can, i wonder if i should have applied some castor oil. Ah, your girl got some waves going on okay. I always wanted to see that in my hair, like i always wanted to see waves in my hair, like i always wanted to see waves get right here behind my ear. It'S super kinky, the nape and behind my ear, is super kinky back this way just go on the other side and then i'm gon na put it on the back all right. I had to go look for my mirror, so i'm going to do one final. One final gel down before i brush it out and redo my ponytail and tie my ponytail down so that i can put the bun on it's like the size like that right there. But i guess that's something i'm gon na have to i'm have to learn how to sit like the really short pieces. They'Ll pop out on you, no games to be played. Okay. So here's what my hair looked like jailed up at those waves. Y'All look at those waves. Oh my gosh. My waves are so pretty. My waves are pretty okay, i'm just gon na go ahead and put that out there. Okay, so we're gon na brush this up. Who would have ever thought who would have ever thought? I'M just doing one final smooth, then i'm going to go ahead and take this ponytail holder off. I wonder: should i use some of this on top of it, or would i be doing too much? I don't know - or you know what i'm gon na do so i was looking for my castor oil, but it's all the way upstairs and i don't feel like going upstairs. So i'm just going to spray some of this on there, i'm hoping that that'll help with you know when it does dry. I don't want it to like, have a white cast on it. So just like a heat protectant, it's also a gloucester. So it's like a also like an oil sheen. It smells good okay. So now i'm gon na take the rubber band off the the elastic i'm just gon na smooth the part at the very top where it was gathered up at and smooth that out. I'M gon na retighten it back up, put my ponytail holder back on. I don't want to make it too tight. I think that's enough. This part right here what i'm gon na do: i'ma just okay. So this hair - that's remaining - i'm just spraying this moisturizer on there, because i'm getting ready to tie that down i'ma comb it out and then i'm just gon na twist it because i'm about to secure it down, i'm gon na twist that around and i'm gon na Use this other one to just hold it down, so it doesn't go anywhere. Okay! Now i'm going to take the this apricot ponytail, i thought that this one was cute because it's a 1b burgundy and i for those of you who've ever watched. My channel, like i always love like burgundy or pinkish, looking hair. So this is what the ponytail is. Looking like i kind of wish, it was more like i don't like how it's like real deep in certain sections in certain sections. It'S not. I wish it was more evenly spread. I'M thinking about maybe i'll just go, get a regular bun. I have another one upstairs. That'S more regular, let me see, would that be cute, i'm trying to figure out if that'd be cute or not, so i actually think i'm gon na go get my other bun. I'M really not feeling this one, i'm not feeling it for some reason, i'll be right! Back so i actually went upstairs and got another ponyta. This one is a bit toned down to me. This one just looks a little better than the other one. Did i just didn't like the color placement in it? So i think this is a number two we're gon na put this one on. It is a drawstring ponytail, so uh i think i had. I got this from my beauty. Supply store a while back. This will come at the top comb at the bottom. A drawstring just gon na put the comb in at the top gon na put the comb in at the top, lift it and put the comb in at the bottom once both combs are in just take the drawstring and pull it as tight as you want it, And once you're once you're done with that, just i just wrap it around like i literally just keep wrapping it and wrapping it, and then i tuck it in and after that, after that i play with it until you get it, how you want it, i really Need a hair pick like a hair pick helps, but i also i try to like um lay the hair down around like the base of the ponytail, so i'm gon na i'm gon na shake this up and i'm gon na shape that up all right. So i shaved the back of my neck up and um. This is gon na, be the final look. I am going to tie it down like all the naturals do so that this gel can dry for about 15-20 minutes. I'M gon na tie down a scarf so that hopefully can last but here's the final look. You

jazzyjoyce3532: The ponytail looks very natural. You are maintaining your hair very well during your transition. I love it ❤

LaShawn Bolden: I'm 8 months post big chop & I said that yesterday!! I totally get why my Momma did it, but I'm encouraged...I'm not going back!!

Love Yourself: You got alot of new growth and your waves look nice Cute drawstring puff. Have a Blessed Week and Take Care

Ms. SWright: This looks natural, beautiful. Would love to see when u do your big chop, u would look good with your short natural curls.

Sharlita Wilson: Hey Sparkle, your hair came out looking great. You're so amazing with doing your own hair. I never get enough of watching you style your hair. Keep up the great work. God bless you and keep you going strong.

Jo-Anne: See? It's really exciting when your curls start gaining definition. It'll become easier to manage as your hair gets longer. I admire 4c hair so much. The shrinkage is magical e.g. hair looks like 4" when it's really 14" & your hair is so thick it's going to be awesome.

Leigh: You've really done very well on this journey, and your hair always looks nice. I'm over here excited and smiling with you over those waves. I can't wait to see your curls when you do the big chop. Please take us along with you for that- I don't care if that video is an hour long, I'll watch it. One question- is there any reason why you used the african pride instead of the s-curl to help detangle?

Blessed Yes!: Sparkle again I say you're doing great, I love the bun. Whew chile I remember the struggles And yes the Edge booster is the truth! Pricey but worth it. I just ran out myself. Hang in there darlin❤

Shirley Mae & Willie Earl Show: Heyy, sis! I am loving your journey and growth. This is a cute style❤ hang in there we got this. I am currently 10 months post relaxed and the new growth is real lol to say the least. One thing I am learning on this journey is to moisturize, trim ends every 6 wks, use protective styles. Have you considered crocket braids? Very versatile. Great vid thanks for sharing. I took a break from all social media but I am back now

Mason: You glow brighter everyday. You go girl

Melanin Trini: I'm excited for you. The burgundy and black ponytail looked great.

dollyrevenge98: Good luck girl really! I tried but that 4c hair had me struggling and hating wash days, detangling took time and it hurt....Loved the texture and though, I'd play in my hair a lot. Went back to relaxers smh. It's a struggle

Zee_Alexia: Beautiful! Next time use sections. U can put the leave in spray in the roots and actually slick your hair up with the gel in sections!

EFTG: Your hair makes me miss my transitioning times,I wish I took longer,it wasn't that hectic enjoy it while it lasts

Charlene Henry: hair came out super cute......love the waves too....

RIVER: Very pretty, Sparkle!

Tiffany: If you want your hair to lay down better, you should wet your hair a little & then add the gel. It's funny how excited you are about your. I love watching your natural hair journey. The puff looks very natural!

LaShawn Bolden: I'm combing mine so I couldn't hear yours You're doing great!!

Trina Glaud: If the waves popping then the curls gon be popping too!!!…oooo can’t wait!!!…you look cute my friend

Antoinette Freeman: I see the waves in your hair ✔

RIVER: Look at my beautiful Sparkle!

RIVER: The nappy hair is not easier to detangle. That's why I Texlaxed. And I think your hair is thicker than mines. Yep, that's why your Mom relaxed your gorgeous mane.
