Hey guys welcome back to my channel. My name is Jalen Mitchell, also known as natural rain, and today I'm gon na be trying a sleek low ponytail. But the twist is, I'm not gon na be using a gel, which means I've definitely lost my mind, because I've never tried to do this without a gel. I always felt like it was absolutely necessary and y'all are just gon na be along for the ride on this experiment, because I really don't even know if that's gon na work, but hopefully, if you're watching this, it didn't work. I was successful and then it becomes kind of like a tutorial. You know I'm sad um, so I just want to show you guys. This is what my type 4 not stretched. Hair looks like. I would not start trying to do the style on dry hair. I just absolutely would not do it, but I do want to show you guys my texture, my pattern and how I'm still gon na try, despite all the odds, I'm still gon na try to get this into a low sleep. Ponytail I'm going to go wet. My hair make sure that it is detangle, so this process goal is a way smoother and then I'm gon na show you guys the next steps. Okay guys. So I am back and my hair is in twist because I went ahead and detangled it in the shower and I went ahead and I applied this leaving. This is a very light leave-in, so I don't mind using other products. On top of this, I don't feel like it's gon na cause any flaking or anything like that, but this is what I use to detangle my hair and brush it out, because with this style, you really want to start on hair. That is as detangle as you can possibly get it, so you can make the whole process of trying to sleek it down easier without getting any breakage. Anything like that yeah, I'm nervous, because I never tried this before alright. So the first thing I'm gon na do is take down the first twist like I said it is thoroughly detangled. I'M gon na wet my hair, some more first, especially the roots, and then I'm gon na go in with the high porosity leave-in conditioner by Korea. Botanicals. I'M gon na have a link down, below which I know this is one of my faves. So one thing is, I feel, like I'm gon na, need a thick product to try to weigh my hair down as much as possible because I don't have the luxury of using gel and I'm just gon na go ahead and apply this all over my hair. So next, to get my hair really detangle, I'm gon na be going in with the tangle teezer and brushing it out. I'M gon na start from the bottom and work my way up, so I'm just gon na repeat the same process on the other side. Alright from here I'm going to put the two pieces together, the detangle parts wet it again. Take the brush see how smooth so. The next thing I'm gon na do is take this black, castor oil and just apply this to add. Well, basically, it's a seal in the moisture and add shine. I'M gon na take the heavy-duty um bristle, heart, bristle, brush and brush my hair down and now a scrunchy time. I'M gon na keep my hair in a ponytail. While I do the other sections of my hair just to make sure it's laying flat while I get to the other parts of my hair, like what I don't want to happen, is I'm over here doing the other parts, and then this gets poofy and I have To keep going back and forth because that makes no sense, so this is the best way to keep your hair lay down. Why utensil? The other part, I'm just gon na keep the process going. I decided to do a middle part. Wish me luck on that, like through I'm, really taking my time, brushing through it, because I'm not trying to cause breakage lambdas gon na. Add it to the ponytail. It'S gon na become a part of the fam, so I'm already bigger in the front is gon na. Be the hardest part to do, because I got to make this stuff look halfway: decent it'll, be fine. You'Ll see how we start in LA okay. Okay! Oh yes! No doubt here, ain't no jail dear! Let me stop before I get too excited and it's still no into working out but um in a shiny because of the oil okay. This is what I'm. This is what I like to see you, okay, I'm just gon na, do the same thing to this side. Right here and try to get it lay as flat as possible, then I'm gon na take a little bit of the texture ID styling cream because I feel like some got ta give with these freakin edges. I know I said a little bit of the texture ID styling cream, but I live you gon na need a whole lot. If you want any chance of this hair, it's looking down. Okay, so come together. Sleek now, I'm just gon na take some wrapping paper cuz. I feel like that's the only way off and Alana's down period, so I'm gon na take the wrapping paper. So now I know I didn't think I was done. I'M gon na take my scarf and lay it some more and now I'm just gon na. Let this sit until it's dry so that it can sit down and then we're gon na see the final reveal and see how it actually ends up. Turning out not gon na lie kind of nervous, but it's time for the reveal. Okay, not bad at haha. I'M not I'm not even upset, there's there's absolutely no gel. In my hair someone. I love the things I did was definitely bad because I never would have thought I could even get this close Wow. Well, there you go guys. Apparently, it is possible to get a no Jo sleek ponytail. I like it and my hair is so soft because, as you can imagine, there's no gel gas because I use no jail. I like it you guys. These are my final results. Ponytail popping curls pop a hair sleek. You can't even tell that I didn't use no gel to do this and that's just like unheard of on type 4 hair like I was the biggest skeptic in the whole room and look at me inward. CurlyNella1011: I did a wash and go with the texture id a few weeks ago and it was weird applying it because it is more like a cream with a one of a kind consistency. I fully air dried and curls had a cast and turned out good but I like weight to my hair like from a gel . I don't know if I would try that again or just use it for like a twist out. I know this isn't a wash and go video but I thought I would comment this anyway

Unknown2Yoo: Found out this method awhile ago. All the gels that leave your hair soft are way expensive (well, just more than i want to spend). You actually don't need a hard bristle brush. A soft bristle one works just as well and you protect your edges with less pulling. ^.^
