Hi guys welcome back or welcome to my channel if you're new here today's video is going to be a really short tutorial on this slicked back ponytail hairstyle. This was highly highly requested by you, guys um on all of my videos. All of my tick tocks past youtube videos - everything you guys have been asking for this tutorial on how i do this hairstyle, it's so so easy and the perfect hairstyle to do if you have dirty hair just to throw it back up, but it also looks so Clean and chic and beautiful this is my all-time favorite hairstyle. I hope it never goes out of style. How many times am i gon na say style but anyways enough of my rambling and let's get right into the video okay guys. So first things. First, i want to show you guys every tool and product that i use for this hairstyle, because it's kind of a lie and it can get a little overwhelming if i don't go ahead and just show everything before we get started. So i'm going to start with the products. We have three well technically two, i guess but three products. First up we have hairspray. I love to use this tresemme hairspray. I am a ride or die for tresemme. I'Ve used it literally all my life, no other brand. We love her next. Is this leave-in conditioner i like to use this one from kristen s. It smells really good, it's affordable and i really love the packaging which really doesn't have much to do with anything but anyways. Sometimes i like to use leave-in conditioner to give me that wet, look and like really slick down, or i like to use this nourishing hair oil from sol de janeiro. I will use this either like on the ends of my hair or, if i'm not going to use the leave-in conditioner, i will go in with this oil and just slick everything down um. Obviously, you're gon na have to wash your hair after this hairstyle because it'll leave you very greasy and there's gon na be a lot of product in your hair. But yes, i love the smell of this there's, actually a lot that comes in this little bottle. It gives you this really gorgeous shine to your hair and yeah. So those are the three products that i like to use: hairspray, hair oil and or leave-in conditioner. Can you guys hear my dog snoring? I hope y'all can next up are the tools that i like to use number one. Is this soft brush? I mentioned this one in my previous video by the way, if you haven't seen that make sure to go check it out, it's a good one. This is number 575 from evolve and i got the brush from walmart. Then we just have like a regular brush to detangle your hair. This is from the hair edit and i got it from ulta. Then i have this rat tail comb also from the hair edit, and i got it from ulta as well. Next, i just have these bobby pins from conair. I got these from walmart, i'm pretty sure. Cvs literally can get these anywhere um and it's in the shade. 90, black, okay, so those are all the products and tools that i use to achieve this hairstyle by the way everything that i just mentioned. As far as the products and the tools go, i will have linked down in the description box now that we got that all out of the way we are gon na go ahead and get started. I would like to mention that my hair is one day old. I haven't washed it in one day, so it's dirty, but not super dirty, but it's also not clean um and i feel like this. Hairstyle does really well when your hair isn't freshly washed. So it has a little bit of you know a little bit of something going on up here and it's not so like fine and hard to work with. If that makes any sense - and i can't decide what i want to use for this hairstyle this time - what if i did both like a little bit of both we're gon na, do both? Why not? Okay, so i don't know how this is gon na go, but we're gon na start with the kristen s, leave-in conditioner, i'm just gon na spray, the entire top of my head with this leave-in conditioner and like we are not being shy about this. Now. I'M going to take my little detangling brush and just brush through okay. So now you can see the top of my head is slicked down. I look like i don't even know what i look like also i forgot to mention. I really like to keep my middle part whenever i'm doing this hairstyle, which makes it really tricky because you're trying to keep the middle part while also trying to slick it back while also trying to not have any bumps. So that's what makes this hairstyle really really tricky. Oh also, i forgot to mention you need two ponytail holders. That was the one i knew. I was forgetting something it's important to have two, because i feel like it really secures the ponytail even better than just using one okay. So now we're just gon na kind of comb over everything and smooth it out. Now i'm going to go in with this nourishing hair oil and just do like i don't know two pumps of the oil, rub it in my hands and go in and slick down, the top of my head. Don'T forget the bottom of your head as well. Underneath all right, so now we are going to start forming the ponytail now that the oil and leave-in conditioner is in we're just going to start brushing up and back, and i want the ponytail to be a little bit higher than like the middle of my head. I kind of want it to be a little bit more like up here so, but i also don't want any bumps in my hair, so we're just gon na slowly make our way up there, while brushing any bumps out okay. So the ponytail is pretty much where i want it to be. We are going to go ahead and secure it with those two ponytail holders and tighten and as you can see, we have some bumps that happens whenever you tighten the ponytail, which is no problem. We'Re just going to take this rat tail comb and comb over okay, perfect. Now we're going to go in with the tresemme hairspray and spray the entire head, we're just trying to get rid of any flyaways and bumps, of course, and then i'm going to go in with the soft brush and brush over everywhere that i sprayed i'm also kind Of taking my um left hand and kind of just following the soft brush to like really smooth everything back over now that everything is smooth, you can still kind of see some bumps and that's when we're gon na go in with these bobby pins. I try not to use like more than like four or five bobby pins like two on one side, two on the other and then maybe some extras um. I just don't want, like my entire head, having bobby pins sticking out, i'm just gon na pin down all the little bumps back here to make sure they're not sticking out looking crazy, okay, perfect! That only took four, which is very impressive. For me, we're gon na go back in with this hairspray and just there's a few little tiny flyaways up here at the front that i'm wanting to get down going back in with the soft brush to lay everything down. Sometimes i have hairs down here at the bottom that aren't long enough to get into my ponytail, so i will just take some hairspray and brush it up and it'll just kind of stay up there. If it doesn't stay up there like how it is right now, i will take a bobby pin and just pin it right underneath boom. That is it for this slicked back ponytail look. This was such a short video, i'm! So sorry, if it wasn't anything super entertaining, i just know that you guys were really requesting for me to do a little tutorial on this hairstyle.
