4C Natural Hair Stays Slick Down For One Week!? How To Stop Gel From Flaking Tutorial

N J: This is my exact procedure since I've been transitioning and still do all the time unless I'm wearing braids. Currently 22mths post. For me I've noticed I only get flaking from using way too much gel the initial styling. So I just use it in moderation and get the same results. By day 4 I just spritz hair, smoothe some moisturizer and oil on the top of hair, smoothe some gel on the flyaways and tie hair and it's brand new for some more days. By day 7 I take down the hair and properly moisturize the inside of the hair then back in a bun until wash day, and my wash day is every 2 weeks. Easy maintenance and low manipulation for me as a transitioning chick. *MY TIP: Release hair tie at night a bit then loop again to tighten in the morning since this style will be kept for a prolonged period and we want to save our edges*
