Hey, ladies, it's sydney from sit and pretty here, reinforcing the fundamentals of hair care and in today's video we're going to be talking about how you can retain length while wearing leave out sew-ins. If that sounds like something you're interested in then make sure you go ahead and hit that like button okay and enjoy the show so again, if you're new here my name is sydney, i'm a hair, restoration specialist. I teach you all how to use refined, protective styling and heat styling methods to maximize your length retention. I'Ve been specializing in sewing weeds for the last 10 years and throughout the course of that journey i have perfected my craft in a way that has allowed me to help hundreds of women worldwide. Even thousands worldwide with the internet use sewing extensions as a vehicle to restore their hair, so i've experienced first hand the power of what properly using a weave can do for your hair when it comes to sew-ins. I find that the reason a lot of people have such negative experiences with the technique is because number one they really don't have any legitimate technique. Okay, so there are different ways that you can approach selling weaves and the reality is whatever your intentions are. I find that they manifest within the hair. What i mean by that is, if you are intentionally and strategically using sew-ins as a way to improve your hair, then i'm sure you'd be more intentional about the way that you actually handle your hair before, during and after the sewing process. Now to get specific. So i don't lose you. What i mean is a lot of people. Forget that you you, you still have to take care of your hair. Even when utilizing weaves, you know some people try to use sew-ins as a way to escape their hair when, in reality, all of the same principles and practices that apply fundamentally outside of a sew-in applied during a sew-in. What that means is, if you wouldn't put heat on your hair every day without a sew-in, then you shouldn't do that with the leaf out sew-in or to your leave-out. If you know that it's not good to go extended periods of time without shampooing and washing your hair, then the same thing applies to the sew. It you see what i'm saying you have to still implement the same hair care principles when you are wearing sew-ins that you would not wearing sew-ins. So if you want to get the most out of a sewn with leave out, you have to still apply the same hair care practices and principles to your leave out. The number one important thing is that you are choosing a hair texture that actually matches your texture. It doesn't have to be an exact match, but it has to mimic what your hair would look like straight if you're wearing it straight curly if you're wearing it curly. What have you, especially when it comes to wearing sew-ins, there's a net in here my plant? It'S like it's over water, so there's gnats and it's irritating me. What i was saying is you have to make sure that your leave out matches if you're going to be wearing leave out, especially when it comes to a straightened style, because that is what is going to help you stay away from the temptation to flat on your Hair every day, if you're, finding these tips helpful and are enjoying the channel be sure to follow me on instagram for exclusive content number one. Another way that i like to make sure that my leave out matches my hair or my clients leave out matches their hair. Is making sure not only the texture matches, and this is why i leave my clients to certain companies. Most of those companies are going to sell raw hair because raw hair is going to mimic that textured hair type, as the majority of my clients have textured hair right. So you want to make sure that even if you're choosing a straight, it doesn't have to be a kinky straight, but it needs to be a straightened, hairstyle or texture that mimics. What your hair would look like in a straightened state. The second key, and the second trick that i have is to make sure that the color matches now before i go any further. I would like you all to click the link in the description box and make sure you get the free version of my five keys for success in your healthy hair journey guide, because in that job guide, i'm going to be helping. You address the mental blockages that could be keeping you from reaching your hair goals, so you can do that now by clicking the link in the description. One way that i like to make sure that my clients hair matches, the extensions is by considering coloring your extensions. If your hair is a natural brown or natural black consider coloring your extensions with a natural black, even if it's just a gloss or something to give that hair a little bit more pizzazz, you can do that and then you can get a semi-permanent rinse and make Sure that your leave out matches to the extensions and that's going to give you a more seamless look, because even if the texture isn't right on, if the colors are similar in um hue, what that's going to do or shades what that's going to do is give The illusion that your hair is blending, so that's also going to keep you from putting an excessive amount of heat. So the key here is to first make sure, there's that illusion of matching, because that's going to keep heat off of your hair, which is the number one culprit i find keeps women's outs from flourishing. Third, most important thing is that you can't neglect your hair care when it comes to your leave out and what that means is. It is best practice in my experience, to get my clients to shampoo their leave out at least once a week or once a week, and the reason being is because when you apply heat to dirty hair, it causes a lot of breakage okay. So you want to make sure that before you reapply heat to your hair you're, starting with hair, that is clean and you can do that best buy. Even if you're not going to deep cleanse your weave in your braids, you can at least make sure that you're shampooing your actual leave out on a day on a weekly basis, so that your hair can stay clean. And then you can keep that fresh leave out. Because the fresh leave out is also going to help your hair blend very well and keep it from breaking off when you do reapply the heat. These are some of my biggest tips when it comes to making sure that you can actually use the leave out sew-ins in a way that would encourage length retention. You can go on my page. I feature many testimonials of my clients who i've helped them achieve that. So it can be done with a proper strategy. Remember you should never have to compromise the integrity of your natural hair in order to rock fabulous extensions. Also, remember that the key to healthy, weaves that actually promote length retention is making sure that you always seek to enhance your hair, whether rather than trying to force it to be something it's not because if you can hold true to that and implement those tips, you Will find that someone weaves can actually be used in a way that is beneficial to you. That being said, make sure that you click the link in the description box enroll in the sit in pretty academy, so you can get access to my sew-ins 101 class there. I introduce you all to my basic sewing technique, where i lay down the foundational principles of creating a selling weave that actually works best for your hair. Again, ladies, if you're looking to understand how to apply a sew-in in a way that won't neglect your hair, you can enroll in the growing teen challenge, because growing teen, the same principles that i teach you throughout. That challenge are actually the same principles.
