Hey: what's up guys, it is tight East Harrigan, and today I will be showing you how I flat out in my hair, as well as giving you some tips and tricks on how to get great results and also how to prevent damage when flat iron. In your hair, so right here, my hair is air, dried 90 % and I always start with clean hair that has been shampooed and deep conditioned thoroughly, and then I go in with my blow dryer on cool air. I do not use heat because I want to eliminate as much heat usage as possible when I'm getting ready to flat iron, my hair, so the cool air setting on the blow dryer smooths down my hair cuticle and prepares it to be flattering so that it's laying Flat and the flat iron doesn't have to work as hard so right here, I'm just blow-drying my hair and trying to get rid of as much of the wetness as possible and I'm combing. While I blow-dry it, it was pretty damper than I thought it was and oh yeah. I forgot to mention that I'm also 2 weeks post relaxer in this video. The third tip, is to always use a heat protector right now, I'm using the Tresemme heat protectant. I had this one for years guys, so that is how little I Flatiron my hair. It just lasts forever. I think it's been about like four years, so I'm just spraying my hair thoroughly with it I'm very generous with it, and this is the only product I put on my hair after shampooing and deep conditioning and letting my hair dry. So it won't be weighed down. But I'm being really really generous because I do not want to get heat damaged or I do not want my hair to like start breaking out from the heat. So it's very important to protect it with a heat protectant and make sure you get the ends properly and around your edges as well. So today I will be trying out a new flat iron from Duvall that they sent me for free, and they also gave you guys a 70 % of coupon code that you can get on any heat tools or skincare tools in their store, so definitely check it Out in the description box below so since I have relaxed hair, I always use my flat irons on the lowest setting possible. So this flat iron go as low as 270 degrees and it goes all the way up to 450. But I am staying on the lowest setting for my relaxed hair. It doesn't need that much straightening, because my hair is like already straight, I'm just going for a more sleek look and another thing I do is section my hair into four big sections. This allows me to work on my hair properly and straighten it properly, so I don't have to flat iron my hair again, while I'm wearing it straight so now that my hair is separated into four sections, I like to part each section separately and fluttering it. So if you're going for more volume, then you part your sections bigger. If you're going for a more sleek flat look or you have a lot of new growth, then you part them smaller. So me, I'm going for volume. So I'm doing my sections a bit bigger and I also do one pass through my hair, very slow and controlled to make sure that it is straight in one good time. This prevents a lot of damage versus trying to do like ten fast passes. That isn't that good for the hair yeah. So I also stay away from the roots. I don't Flatiron the roots, because I am only too exposed and I still want to have volume in my flat iron hair. I don't like the flat look, so staying away from the roots, allow my hair to still retain its volume so guys it has been over a year since the last time I Flatiron my hair, and that is because I'm trying to retain length on this hair journey And I would really suggest if you are trying to retain length, do not use direct heat from the flat irons and blow dryers more than once every other month or once every three months. And if you are, I mean. But if you are looking to maintain a certain length, you can go ahead and use it every other week or once a month, and what I mean by that is, if you are like shoulder length and you're happy with shoulder length - and you don't want your hair To grow much longer, then it's okay to use it every other week or once a month, the minimum. So I'm finished with the two sections in the front and I just repeat the same process in the back, so I did notice. The back of my hair is much more thicker than the front, so I had to do like two passes in the back and yeah also make sure you guys check out my flat ironing routine from over. A year ago, my hair has grown so much when I watched that video I'm like wow, my hair has really come a long way in a year as far as the flatiron. I really really do love this Flatiron. It feels so amazing. The grip is nice and it just glides through my hair, like butter. It is definitely a big upgrade from my Conair Flatiron and I'm so grateful. I got it welp. So this is the end of my flat ironing hair routine, as well as giving you guys. Some tips and tricks on how to prevent damage while getting great flowy results on your flat iron and bay, so guys my hair is growing so much that it doesn't fit in the frame of my camera anymore. So I have to keep tippy-toeing throughout this video. So you guys can see the end. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm just grateful my hair is growing period. Thank you guys so much for watching this video. I am so happy to help you guys, and I will see you again in my next video.
