I heard the same thing growing up, I'd wanted short hair since I was a little girl, I was always told "boys have short hair, girls have long hair" and so I pretended to like my long hair for years, secretly wanting to cut it short. While in America for a year, I finally did it! I got my hair cut into a Louise Brooks style bob. I was so happy to make a lifelong dream come true. I smiled so much that I drooled after I got it cut and I was so happy that I didn't care I was drooling all over myself. I love it so much! I plan to keep my hair short like this forever.
