What is up guys tim desaint here and today today, i'm gon na cut my hair you're, probably wondering hey tim. Why are you cutting your hair? It probably took you so long to grow it out and then you're gon na regret. It you're not gon na be able to grow it back, but i've had it long for like six years now, i've had it long for such a long time. The last time i had short hair, i didn't even have glasses. I didn't have any facial hair. So i don't even know what my face looks like with short hair. I only know it with long hair and i kind of want to figure that out. While i still can because who knows maybe one day, i'm going to go bald and i want to have fun with my hairstyle and i want to play around with it and yeah just have fun experiment with it. While i can and also i think, it's good to change things up in your life once in a while, i think lockdown is finally coming to an end here. Summer is approaching, there's been a lot of stuff going on in my life lately, and it just feels right. It feels like i need. I need a change right now and my hair is gon na, be uh gon na, be the one to take the hit here. So we're cutting the hair short. Am i gon na regret it? Maybe maybe not, but there's only one way to find out turn right on north i'm gon na cancel everything abandon ship, abandon, i'm gon na get to the place, and i'm just gon na ask you to color it pink yeah. I changed my mind how you feeling man a little stressed man, but i'm excited. I'M excited. I'Ve been also stressed out. Are you good ready for the crack yeah? I'M ready. Are you ready? Are you nervous? No, i'm not ready, you're, not ready. It'S already at all. So what are we doing? We'Re cutting it short short? Yes, yes, so i'm kind of thinking, like short on the sides, short on the back yeah kind of leave some length up top yeah like nice and and like structured here, but then leaving a little bit wild up top and also um. I want to donate the hair okay, so so, let's, let's cut it in a way where i can actually actually donate yeah, we'll comb it out and then what i'll do is plot it up flat the end of the hair off cut it off so that you Have enough as much as we can yeah cool? Let'S do it. Let'S go! I'M excited for this, don't be stressed, you're in good hands. Oh my god! It'S so long! I didn't realize that the last time we trimmed it. I think it was like shallower than so. Obviously, yeah i'm good, i'm good. Let'S go guys holy. Oh my gosh wait. How much hair is there, but not taking so long ready, whoa? Oh, oh, my god. Can i hold it yeah yay six years baby, oh my god, wow! So, basically um what i'm gon na do. I'M gon na trim the top uh the sides first i'll just do all the scissor work. First. That way, i can kind of clean the canvas and then probably just take the ends off a little bit and then go in and shape the top. So i always do my scissor work. First, that way, you can see you know bringing the clippers and the fade up to it. I can see exactly where it should meet to match the head, shape and stuff and the hair on top as well, because you don't want to take all this fade. All this off and then have a horrible disconnection, so i've cut the top and just like giving myself a guide for the length that we're going to do we're going to texturize a lot of the top as well. So we want to leave more length, the less and not go too short too quickly and and i'll cut just a basic length on top even it out. So it's all, even on top we have the length and we'll we'll kind of mix it in and and then we'll go from. You know what him wants, how far or how short the front of it he wants to do and then start to kind of personalize. It a little bit after like going super long to super short. You kind of do need to do everything in stages so that it's not just you know you don't lose important, hair or length. I feel like i'm like a butterfly undergoing a transformation because i'm like a pokemon, i'm basically a pokemon yeah you're, going to your next stage now exactly yeah. So this is the batterizer in this and it just softens the end of the hair and creates a lot of texture without cutting like any blood lines in the hair. So if you want more of a like textured kind of choppy look with a bit of movement in it, this is like the perfect tail for it, because you can just see towards the ends it just kind of shatters. The hair, rather than cutting like a straight bloodline like this for me like this, is probably one of like my favorite kind of styles, because it's just over a strong. You can do so much with it. You know like yeah, just that messy kind of chop texture. Look because it's not like you know, if you wanted to push this up, if you wanted to wear it back, you still have to learn to play around with it yeah. So what i'm going to do now is i'm once like this is the base shape in so i'm going to put a bit of pre product in so a bit of sea salt spray in that will just kind of basically absorb into the hair, and it like It will give it the hair a little bit of grip so that when you can, you know blow dryer or whatever it's uh. It'S just gon na sit a little bit nicer and easier. I'M gon na blow dry. It up blow dry the sides and then start to work with the clippers on the sides. So what we're going to do is we're just going to taper out the back, so it's a nice blend and transition down into the night. There'S no harsh lines. It'S got to grow back nice and easy. This is all i do when i, when i put your hair same just the back, this is generally tim's haircut, the back of the neck. What kind of products do you recommend i get to like style, short hair? I would say like, like anything, matte like a sea salt spray, do you want like actual sea salt, bright mac layer? Like a texture dust, i feel like a new person. I feel like a new like man. It'S like you. I don't know like a whole new wardrobe kind of thing. It'S like hold your hair hair drum hold your hair, then head. Oh, my god, it's weird! Oh my god. I feel like i'm just cheating again i just saw i just saw him put it down a little bit. Oh, my god, i had a flashlight like your passport photo all right. You look younger. I do right, yeah, fine! Well, you don't want to look around like your clothing, you don't want to do it. I don't know like. Why would you want to look old, no you're right? Oh, oh, my god, wow. I look different. Okay, i think. Maybe let's try a little bit shorter around here, like you know, like the volume right here at this point we decided there was still a little too much length and volume on top for the look that i wanted to go for so we went ahead and trimmed It down a notch further like this, rub it all into your hands like, so you can't really feel it then rub it through the hair. Just literally go crazy with it don't be afraid to like, and then you can start to then mold it into shape. If you need more use a bit more, but always start with a little bit less pop your head up coming down through the hair and then start to play around the mouth, you know so you can pull it down through the hair and then literally like you're. Like with the tips of your fingernails, just come down through it - oh my god, okay, oh my god, i look good yeah. I do oh all right, uh, let's take! Let'S do some b-rolls every time. I look at myself in the mirror. I'M like who's this. Just here this gun summer change, okay, yeah, hayden, hayden, cassidy, the only barber. Your prize possession - oh my god, all right all right. So it's been a few days since the cut and uh i really like it. What do you think? I mean it's? Definitely. A big change haven't felt the wind on the back of my neck in like ages and showers have become a lot quicker and more pleasant, not having to wait ages for my hair to dry and it's very easy to style in the morning. And if i don't feel like styling it, i can finally put on hats again without my hair, getting in the way it's a it's a weird feeling, but i almost feel more like myself now with short hair, i don't know why i think it just fits well. I, like it, i'm very happy with this change, so i guess it's short hair tim from now on. It'S a new era. I'Ll see you soon,
