How I Shape Cut My Curly Hair At Home | Altered Unicorn Cut | Lisaslife

One two three hi guys today, i'm going to be showing you how i cut my hair wet and how i trim it while it's dry, i'm not a professional at all. So i don't know it's your choice. To take my advice or not, i cut my own hair um and i like how it looks you guys were asking me how i cut my hair. This is how i do it um, but yeah this haircut is called the unicorn. I mean the first step. The wet step is called the unicorn cut, i'm going to insert a picture, so you guys can see the steps and i'm just going to show you how i did it. So the white cut is mostly just giving you like some layers and then the dry cut is just shaping your hair uh. For my hair, i kind of wanted. You know the round. You know voluminous look, so i'm going to show you how i did that today. I'M going to start off by showing you how i did the layers, so this is the wet cup make sure your hair is wet um. This is my hair right out of the shower so and no product. Obviously so, first i'm going to start off by putting my hair half up by my ears, okay, and i'm going to tie that up or i'm going to use this now. This is where you're going to cut your hair lengthwise. So my hair is like up to here. These are barber scissors. I don't really have um shears. I think that's what they're called. I don't really have them, but this works fine. I know people are gon na be like girl, get get yourself, some real scissors, but these are like two dollars so so you're going to take some hair ties. I have two here that should be enough and we're gon na get a brush and use my denman brush and i'm going to brush my hair to the front. So i can tie it right here. This haircut is called the unicorn cut. So if you guys want to look it up, you can go ahead. I'M going to add a picture to show you like the steps and a picture just so you guys can have it next to you, but i'm also going to be showing you how to do it. So it's just easier because you can like visualize it. I talk. A lot i know so you're going to just tie this um when you're done separating your hair in the front like this, so for this layer, i'm going to show you how much shorter it is compared to the rest of my hair. This is how i did it. I like cut a little bit, and then i took it down to make sure that i knew where this layer was going to stop. So let's say this is cut. This is where this hair ends, and this is where the rest of my length ends just so. You can see so just try to cut a little by little, so you don't cut it too short. You cut that piece. You'Re gon na go to where your eyebrows are the way that i did it because it worked out better for me was that i went ahead and i took half of this one, which does end up being like where your eyebrows are so. I took half and then with the front half i did the same thing so i went ahead. I tied it in the front. Hopefully, i'm explaining it right because i'm not really cutting um and then i went ahead and you're gon na just as you can tell mine is already cut, you can go ahead and just cut it, and then you have your layers going to insert the clip of The first time that i did it so you guys can see the before and after the difference is huge and my hair looked a lot better and it looked a lot curlier. So hi guys, i'm going to try to give myself a curly cut today. Um kind of, like you know, shape my hair better, i'm going to insert a video of my hair before all right. So this is what it looks like. There'S not you know any volume, so i'm going to try to fix it. I'M just brushing, through my hair, with my denim brush real quick. I look crazy, but you're going gon na section it like this from your ears up. I just cut a little bit off. I forgot to record okay. So after i cut that i'm going to separate half of it again, okay, so i separated - and now i'm going to cut it again. These are meant to frame your face, don't cut like too short, so i cut it about to my chin. So this is what it looks like while it's wet i'm going to put product in my hair, let it dry and then i'll be back. Hopefully you guys were able to see everything that i was doing. I'M going to show you how i cut my bangs just to be on the safe side, because you guys were wondering i had. I went right here and i took that little front layer and i tied everything in the back and okay. So what i did here was that i went to my eyebrow and you're gon na want this to be longer, but then, as you can see, i have like some shorter pieces. You can also cut these a little bit shorter. So let me just show you so you want this to be like a slant. Mine is obviously too long. I cut it sideways by the way, but you can't really see i just i just cut it um and you just kind of want it to go like that sideways. I don't know if you can really tell this side kind of looks better than the other one, but yeah as you can see, they're both the same same length as well so yeah. This part is like a little bit dry and then my for my bangs, which is this piece right here um. I cut it up to my lips because i didn't really want some shrinkage. There are some shorter pieces because i know i trim my hair when it's dry. So if there's like any ends that i need to trim off, i will and you can see, because i have some shorter pieces in the front now we're going to go ahead. Put some product in our hair and we're going to come back. You can either let it air dry or diffuse it whatever you want. So the way that i cut my hair um, obviously you're going to need to fluff out your hair just to see what shape you already have when you try to get some volume, so you're going to put your hands and your roots and you're going to shake Your hair shake those curls out, so, as you can see, my hair is already like shaped the way that i want it, but i'm going to explain just how i did it without really cutting, because i don't think i could cut my hair. This point i i cut my hair like five times so you're going to want to visualize like a circle, that's kind of the shape that i was going for, but it depends on what you want honestly. So my goal was to get my hair to look luminous and big, so you're going to do it in parts. First you're going to look at the bottom you're going to look at your hair and, let's say like this: hair is like out here and it's not part of like the shape that you're going for you're going to cut it. Oh, my god you're going to cut it. So what i did was that i just looked at my hair, the shape that i had and, for example, i would take like this hair right here and i would cut it just so it could go with the shape that i want my hair to be. In now, for the top part, it was like a lot longer after i had layered it. So what i did was that i went curl by curl and this is very important. You have to go curl by curl, because if you cut your hair in chunks, then it is not going to come out looking good. Every curl is different. As you can see, my volume comes from the top part of my hair. Literally see it just falls on top um, that's really it all i can do is really give you tips on how to cut it, but it's all to preference. It took me a few tries to be able to get my hair to look like this um. A few trims, but really the bases of my haircut, is really the wet cut. When you do trim your hair dry um make sure that when you cut any curls to separate them, so let's say i have like this curl you're, not gon na go ahead, and just i'm going to go ahead and just trim the whole chunk you're going to Separate it and then you can go ahead and cut.
