Hello Loves and welcome back to another video! In today's video I'm showing you how I maintain my silk press at night without "wrapping" my hair. Wearing my relaxed hair in a straight style helped me maintain my length when my hair was longer; however, using the paddle brush everyday also thinned my hair out over time. The damage wasn't drastic, but I still want to give my hair the best chance possible and find was to minimize damage as best as I can.

This method is so much easier and faster than wrapping my hair and gives me a similar look, without the damage. Let me know what you think of this method or if you'll be trying it.

Thank you for watching! Don't forget to like the video, comment and subscribe!

Hello loves and welcome back to my channel, it's ravencierra and in today's video i'm showing you my nighttime routine and how i maintain my hair and it's flat ironed blown out state without wrapping it every night. There are two reasons that i made the decision to stop. Wrapping my hair, the first reason was because i used to wrap my hair all the time my hair used to fall around this length and i used to wrap my hair every night and while my hair was long and i was maintaining a lot of length, i Was losing a lot of thickness because i was using the paddle brush and wrapping my hair every night, and i noticed that it would be full of hair and not only that my hair wasn't thick, and i think that this might have been attributing to why. My hair wasn't as thick as i wanted now my hair wasn't thin, but it just wasn't thick as thick as i knew it could be so this time around, i wanted to actually try something different, and i have watched a video where this girl had said that She had actually stopped brushing her hair around her head every night with the paddle brush, and i thought that that was actually a good idea and a good thing to try. Another reason why i wanted to stop wrapping my hair every night with the paddle brush is because, with my hair this length, it doesn't really wrap that well whenever i try to brush it around with a paddle brush. Whenever i wake up in the morning, i end up with pieces that kind of stick out my hair cowlicks really easily, and so i just really didn't want to do that, and i want to try something different and i will take you guys along with me on The journey as my hair gets longer, i will adopt different methods and change it up a little bit if you're, watching this video and your hair is the length of mine - or, i would say, maybe even to about right here, collarbone length. I think this will be the perfect routine for you. This is a lot easier than brushing your hair around at night every night. I know a lot of ladies complain that their hair is too slippery to wrap around at night and it falls down. This is definitely easier than doing that and you end up with similar results. So let me walk you guys through exactly what i do so first to get started with wrapping my hair at night. I start off with a long rectangular shaped scarf. I believe i got this scarf from walmart and i tied that around the base of my hair, like around my edges, and i bring it around the back of my head and tie it to the front now um. When i am doing this, i make sure to pull all of my hair out from the scarf. So i'm going to show you what i'm talking about, i'm basically making sure that all my hair is laying straight making sure that no pieces are tucked inside. Of the scarf. No pieces are bending any sort of way, and this is going to give us that flawless wrap. Look when we wake up in the morning, and i like to call this kind of like my low pineapple. I know some of the natural girls about their hair in a pineapple going forward and up we're doing the same method. But we want our hair to lay down. So we're going to pull it all towards the back of our head and we just want to make sure that all of our hair is laying in the same direction. None of our hair is caught up in the scarf. None of the hair is bent and going in any directions, and this is going to give us the perfect wrap. Look, it's going to look like we brushed our hair around, but without using that damaging paddle brush. Then i'm going to take my satin bonnet and just top it off just to make sure my hair doesn't get damaged or snagged. While i sleep and that's it and sometimes i do add an oil to my hair, to my not to my hair but sometimes i'll. Add an oil to my scalp or a moisturizer, but i just moisturized my hair the night before and it's very moisturized. So i'm not going to add anything else. But if you want to, you can add that step and the next morning i'm going to just comb. My hair down and style as i would normally i really like this routine because, as i was telling you guys, this is so much easier than actually wrapping my hair with the paddle brush. It takes less time and i believe that it's less damaging on my hair. Let me know if you, ladies, will be trying this out or if you do something similar to your hair, the girls, video that i was watching and i will try to find it and link her channel and video below. But the girl who i was watching. She actually had longer hair and what she did. She took her hair and kind of crisscrossed it on both ends and then tied her scarf, and then i used her bonnet. So if you have longer hair, maybe try that method or, if i'm able to find her video, definitely check out her video, because i think that is a great tip. Let me know what you guys think about my maintenance and how i take care of my hair at night and maintain the straight look, i'm interested to know your thoughts and curious on what you, ladies, do for your nighttime routine as well. Thank you so much for watching, and i will see you guys in the next video bye-bye

Relaxed Hair With Rae : Wearing my hair straight or in a silk press is one of the easiest ways I maintain it; but I wanted to find a way that was less manipulative and damaging on my hair. This method is so easy and less damaging. Let me know what you think

Starry Nights: I also think this is great for fine hair. Wrapping and unwrapping everyday is a lot of manipulation that can lead to breakage. I have fine hair and I only wrap it maybe up to 3-4 days after wash day while it’s super straight and super easy to comb through. After that my natural oils start to weigh my hair down, my new growth may revert a little and it’s not as easy to wrap anymore and can suffer breakage, so that’s when I tie my hair down like how you do yours.

Tanya S: So coincidental that you posted this because i used to wrap my hair every night when my hair was longer. And now that I’m growing out a. Pixie my hair just doesn’t like wrapping anymore so I stopped trying. It is healthier now that I stopped wrapping. Good tips! Thanks!

This Trini Will: Thank you for sharing, I would deff be trying this. I hate how my hair falls when I wrap it but I was unsure of another way to maintain it at night when straight.

Krishana Vettraino: This is a game changer! Thank you!

Nalongo Letisha: Thanks for the tips my dear. I love your hair thanks for the night routine you have given us

dawn Banks: I have to moisturize and tie my hair up or it doesn’t act right. I recently cut my hair off and I’m wearing a pixie cut.

Arlita: Good video, never thought about this before..

0tismadaline: Great night time routine dear, l Don't wrap my hair and thanks for sharing

Silky Saks: Interesting never thought about this before
