Hello, everyone – I’m, CJ, Werleman. Don’t forget to click the subscribe button below, and we kindly ask you please help keep our show going and growing by supporting my journalism at patreon.com/cjwerleman.. Now let’s get into it. Islam is not only the world’s fastest growing religion, having grown from 1.6 billion followers in 2013 to 2 billion today, but it will also be the world’s largest religion by 2050, the year the total Muslim population will exceed 3 billion people. And there’s. Absolutely nothing. These guys can do about it, not him nor him, and certainly nor her, because Islam is proving to be an unstoppable force and not because it’s being spread forcibly but because the Prophet Muhammad made it easy to understand.. Obviously, Islam will continue to grow at a steady and predictable rate in Muslim majority countries. But what I find really fascinating is how the religion is growing in countries where Muslims represent a tiny minority of the population. I’m talking about Japan, South Korea, Mexico and many others. Because what makes these countries captivating case studies is the way in which their respective Muslim populations are growing organically and not by immigration. It’s important. To tell these stories, because we counter Islamophobia by promoting a deeper understanding of Islam – because, yes, while it remains the world’s fastest growing religion, it also remains the least understood.. But we start with South Korea, where the Muslim population has grown to 200,000, which is a remarkable achievement. Given Islam was banned in the country until as recently as 1910, when Korea pursued an isolationist policy., It wasn’t until the 1950s, when Islam was introduced to the Korean people by Turkish soldiers who came to fight alongside South Korean soldiers during the Korean War., I mean how Can you not love that guy Well South Koreans, love him too, as they do all Turkish people, which is why the two countries have forged an incredibly close bond over the past 70 years.? This relationship has allowed Islam to flourish. Watch. This Korean woman explain how she became a Muslim.. Her story is typical of the Korean Muslim experience., But since converting to Islam in 2007, Bora Song has become somewhat of an Instagram star with more than 180,000 followers and she uses her social media influence to help Koreans. Understand Islam.: When Koreans aren’t learning Islam from Muslims like Bora Song, they are converting to the religion after working or traveling through the Middle East or nearby Muslim majority countries, Indonesia and Malaysia.. There are many paths to the top of the mountain so to speak.. Sadly, many Koreans continue to have big misunderstandings about Islam, mostly because local media began linking the religion to terrorism. In 2007, the year 23 Korean missionaries were kidnapped by the Taliban., Two of whom were killed before the South Korean government reached a deal for their release.. The saga dominated media headlines for weeks creating a negative impression of Islam that persists today.. Earlier this year, Muslim students faced local backlash after building a mosque on campus grounds.. You can see why anti-Islamophobia activists, including us, must do more to dispel misunderstandings about Islam in Korea.. We now turn to South Korea’s neighbour to the West – the island nation of Japan, where Islam has experienced exponential growth during the past 20 years.. In fact, the total Muslim population in the Asian country has doubled in the past decade from 110,000 in 2010 to 230,000. In 2019, with native Japanese converts accounting for roughly 25 % of the Muslim population., This growth is matched by the number of mosques being built across the Japanese archipelago.. What really makes Japan stand out as a host to a minority Muslim population is the near total absence of Islamophobia.. Remarkably, Muslims are welcome to practice their faith in accordance with Islamic principles, even in public.. Our final stop on this short tour around the world is Mexico. Where the Muslim population has grown from 50,000 in the early 1990s to 120,000 today – which is astonishing in such a devoutly conservative Christian country., Curiously, the village of San Kristobal in the state of Chiapas has been home to a Muslim majority. Since a Spanish Muslim missionary visited there in 1994. Today, Islam has not only become the fastest growing religion in Mexico, but also the fastest growing among Latin American migrants in the United States., Notably, Islam offers Latin Americans a cultural familiarity that stretches back to the Moors in Spain. Muslims in Mexico still face discrimination, however, because of the way in which North American media has linked Islam with terrorism.. But to overcome these misconceptions. Latino Muslim organizations have launched a number of initiatives aimed to promoting a better understanding of Islam among the majority Christian population. With groups such as Islam, in Spanish, coordinating mosque tours and the like – all of which is helping to break down barriers and counter Islamophobia., As you can see, Islam continues to grow rapidly and in unexpected places. Anyway, that’s my time for today., Please don’t forget to Subscribe to this channel - and we kindly ask you, please support this endeavour by becoming a member of this show at Patreon.com/cjwerleman., We can’t, produce, sustain and grow this show without your help.. We offer exclusive benefits to those who do., But for now good night good morning, wherever you are and stay blessed.

Phaneendra Rao: Thanks a bunch, CJ. You are the MAN! Your journalism has inspired me to look into Islam objectively. I have now stopped worshipping all idols. I cannot fathom the thought of an elephant, snake, monkey, pig, lion, tiger or statues with multiple colours and limbs as Gods. It just doesn't make sense anymore. Things are the same whether I pray to them or not. Infact, I may have wasted my time doing that and reared superstitious beliefs for long. There is a sense of Peace and tranquility knowing there is a GOD but He or she isn't limited to a form, He is Supreme and beyond His creation's imagination as He should be. He is respected, Loved and Feared like no other as He should be. I found this explanation the most logical till date. I live in North India in one of the most vilest and toxic parts. Our city is also called the "r@pe capital of the world" for a reason and Muslim bashing is prime time entertainment in this part of the world. I use VPN to watch your news. Thanks for the IT skills. Actually, thank God for those skills. I now understand why a noble person like Dr Zakir Naik is witchhunted and banned in India. The insecurity, the hypocrisy and the envy is appalling. They say Dr Naik's "fans" did the Bangladesh attacks. Well, on that measure, the butcher of Gujarat - M0DIs fans committed a Genocide in Gujarat, Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab etc yet he is still the PM of India. Double standards lose their meaning the way our country is into Fascism at the moment. Unfortunately it also has full support from the West, now that the Rishi Sunaks are at the helm of western politics. Its just a very toxic and hateful environment. We wake up to complains, disgust, Hate mongering and goto sleep doing exactly the same. The effect of this on Indians mental health is not measured but it will have a very long lasting detrimental effect. No idol God is able to bring any sense anymore. No statue is helping or has ever answered our prayers. Drinking Cow Urine and bathing in sh¡t cannot be religion. I refuse to conform to my family "values". Being a Saraswat Brahman myself, I took off my Janev last week. I think it devalues me into thinking I'm somehow a superior race compared to my other Hindu friends. I'm not allowed to infact make any Muslim, or Backward Class, Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste Hindu friends. I want to make some friends from these communities now. Your journalism has been an eye opener. Thank you very much again. God bless.

James Laird: Thank you for your kind message about Muslims. My wife and I have looked at many different religions over the years. Both of us grew up Catholic and found it very lacking. We started our search for God and proper worship to include so-called Protestant religions, Self Realization Fellowship, study of some eastern religions, even went to classes in Hebrew & studied Judaism (which we found to be lacking in belief of anything of an afterlife. By good fortune our youngest daughter married an Egyptian and for the first time, at the age of 70 we were introduced to Islam, the only true religion we had ever known. Simple and very straightforward, leading us on a straight path.

Neku: Islam don't care about your race or nationality. Islam gives the people sense of brotherhood and family. I never feel afraid or alone when I travel to another country because I know for a fact if I got in trouble I can got to a mosque and god willing my brother in faith will help me. The sense of community is what makes me love Islam more and more.

Zeke: Please remember to like CJ's videos. It's the least we can do and it helps.

Amer Sassila: I really appreciate your videos. But I have to ask: whats your motive in defending a faith you don’t believe in? Why does it matter that you speak truth about Islam and Muslims? Whats the incentive for going out of your way to do so? For a typical person, it would not be worth their time defending something they don’t believe in unless they have a bigger agenda or motive behind it… Not saying its a bad thing to have an agenda or motive but there would have to be one if you are willing to put a ton of effort in these awesome videos

Smilla Ilyas: This waa a really fascinating, informative episode. Thank you very much for your brilliant content. Much appreciated

BAZ: Great content, I just subscribed. You're a fair and balanced person so nothing but love here in detroit ✌️

M S: Oh, where to begin?! I just subscribed. Chose to comment on this video since it's your most recent, but I was tempted to comment on many other. I was watching some of your videos in disbelief, an Australian, non-Muslim speaking so much truth in favor of Muslims, in favor of just causes, what's happening in the world? I even doubted your intention (it sounded too good to be true) & after reading some online negativity. But now I'll say this, your content is fascinating, what you're doing is VERY brave. I think you're TRULY one of a kind. I'll have more to comment in coming episodes. In the mean time, stay safe. Thank you

HodySensei: Honest, objective and to the point! I can confidentally say that you are the best journalist i have encountered as of yet.

Hatice Ergun: I have an almost secret expectation of Japanese people to discover and revert to Islam since they are so intelligent people..! The fact that that they were oppressed and misled in the past should only make them more appreciative to their Lord Most High for never giving up on them and guiding them to His only chosen path..! Alllahu akbar wa lilllahil hamd♥♥
