British short-haired cats are known for being very family-friendly pets, but what exactly does this mean in this video? We will take a look at the reasons as to why british short-haired cats are a popular breed for family pets and why the breed is suitable for households with children. When we use the term family friendly, we are referring to how a cat behaves when placed in a family environment. Cats are a great choice of pet, but some breeds are more suitable for family households than others. When looking to choose a breed of cat, you should consider the following the behavioral tendencies, in other words, how the cat generally behaves the activity levels of the breed, whether or not you're looking for an outdoor or an indoor cat, and whether the breed enjoys a lot Of attention, therefore, when we consider the british shorthand cat breed as a suitable, family-friendly pet, we are looking to take all of these factors into consideration. So, if you are looking for a child-friendly pet, a cat is a great option for many reasons. Firstly, british short-haired cats are often kept as house cats, which means they are generally kept indoors and typically only roam outdoors when an owner is present, such as in the garden or in a closed area. Being a house cat means that your children will be with the cat almost all of the time when they are at home, since british short hair cats enjoy following their owners around the house throughout the day. This is usually a major advantage. The children can therefore enjoy the company of the cat much more, and it provides more opportunities for the cat to have playtime with various cat toys. It is worth noting that british shorthand cats, like most other cats, have bursts of energy throughout the day and then enjoy lounging around whilst observing the things around them. British short-haired cats are very friendly in the fact that they are tame and very rarely get stressed. Other cats might claw your furniture and accidentally scratch you, whilst playing with cat toys, but the british shorthaired breed of cats are often much gentler in their approach. When the cat has had enough attention, it will generally walk away to get some time alone, rather than get agitated. Since british shorthand cats much prefer to observe and be around their owners, they are great pets to have around, especially if they are kept indoors, as outdoor cats often spend a lot of time away from the house hunting and exploring. Therefore, if you are looking for a cat that has plenty of energy but is also easy to look after and great company, then the british short hair cat is a great option.
