Are you looking for a quick super cute style for short hair check out my new favorite? Look in today's video, alright guys thanks so much for joining me today. My name is Maggie Daniel and I'm so glad that you're joining me here today on hair happy home today I am going to show you my new favorite way to curl my hair and that's using a flat iron. This look is kind of inspired by that 90s grunge and since I'm wearing a flannel today I decided that this is the look that I wanted to go with today, so check out what I've got going for you, okay, my hair is pretty dirty we're looking at Day, three or four, and I have been working out everyday and dry shampooing my hair and that's what I kind of love about this hairstyle is the dirtier your hair, the better it looks so to prep my hair. I am going to use my Nate's the champ dry shampoo. This is by far my favorite dry shampoo, it's made with rice starch instead of corn starch, and so it doesn't leave that white buildup on your hair. It actually is infused with a rejuvenate oil, so it helps hydrate your hair at the same time that it wicks away those oils and just dirt and sweat from your hair. So you really want to shake it up good and then you're just going to spray. It take steps, lift this and you want to keep it about six to twelve inches from your head and just give it a nice cheery spray all over your heads, and so what this is gon na do is it's gon na help remove that dirt and oil? That'S on your hair, but it's also going to give you some good grit and texture to your hair. I love dry shampoos for the sake of it stretches out your time between washes, but also because it helps add just a little bit more texture to your hair and it's really great when you're doing up Styles, formal events when you're curling your hair, things that are Just gon na help hold your hair a little bit more. So if you want to check out this champ dry shampoo check out in the description I'll have a link where you can check out that some more and then you wait just a couple minutes. You can massage it in and then brush. This is so important to brush your hair, because it's going to really get that product work through your hair and really absorb those oils. So my favorite is a wet brush. Mine actually has short bristles in between the long bristles that are really good for getting deep into your hair. So then, I'm just gon na brush and brush a brush and just really get all those tangles out, but really what you're doing is brushing that product. Through your hair, okay, so I want my hair to have a middle part today, so I'm just gon na tie to separate it like that. Okay step, one, try, shampoo and brush step two we're gon na section, our hair. Now, if you have short hair like me, I really don't do a lot of curls on the bottom, because it's all hidden anyway, but if you do have longer hair you do want to go through and add curls. So basically, all I'm going to do is just run my flat iron through my hair, just kind of straighten up the ends really for the most part, because all this hair is hidden underneath the top layers, and so it really doesn't have to be perfect. But just kinda straight, I will take these pieces around the front of my hair and add a little bit of a curl into them, so I am using a one-inch Qi iron. This is so old. You guys. I mean that is probably a safety hazard, but I have literally had this flat iron for 12 years. This is an original Qi. It'S not a cheat error, I'm a professional stylist, and so I bought it from our supply house and it has been good to me. Man, I will be so sad when it dies, because I love this Qi iron. I will put a link in the comments to the next best thing. My GHD is really good and also babble is, but I love this Chi, so it is a 1 inch and what you're gon na do is I'm gon na just take this front section right in front of my ear and I'm gon na go up vertically. With my Flatiron and I'm just gon na, do a half turn and slide it and then stop okay. Then I'm gon na go on this side same thing. I'M gon na go half a turn, slide it and then stop and see how my ends are left straight. That'S what I like okay, so that's all I'm doing on the first, it's just making the end straight and then curling these first pieces around my face, I'm gon na, let my next section down and I'm just using a alligator clip. These ones are really great. That have this extra pinch in them, because they can hold a lot of hair. I also just use like a ponytail holder sometime, but whatever you got laying around okay next section I'll it down kind of just give it a quick brush. Okay, this is gon na be hard to see I'll turn, but I'm just gon na take a section. It doesn't have to be perfect dice because this is 90s grunge hair. So I'm just gon na take a section in the back again vertical pattern: pull it. Let go and then I'm just going to work my way around my head. It this other side going and I'll show you so I love this style because it doesn't have to be perfect and it's pretty pretty quick again, I'm taking about one-inch sections. Sorry, I'm trying to look in a monitor and it is kind of backwards. Okay, again just taking these pieces throughout my hair - and I always curl away from my face just because it kind of opens up your face a little bit more. Some people like to alternate, but I personally just like to go backwards. If you alternate it could give you a little bit more variation but, like I said I am all about just going back honestly, it's just simpler for me. I don't get confused where I'm going, and I see how I'm just like picking up big sections and I'm just rolling them back and then I always leave these ends out and then, depending on how thick your hair is, is how many sections you're gon na take Down I have pretty thick hair. Oh, I cannot get this straight in the middle of my head, because this monitor is confusing me. Okay, again, I'm just taking sections all around my head, a pattern pulling it letting it fall straight or letting the ends be straight. Oh man, that was a bad one and sometimes see you guys, you get a bad one. You can also give it a full turn if you want a tighter curl and I'm just going all around my head. Okay, now I'm just letting my curls cool a little bit. Do you see how all my ends are straight? First of all, it's going to protect your ends because our ends are the most fragile parts of our hair, especially if you have color like me, where the blond is focused on the ends so leaving those ends out and keeping them straight is going to protect your Ends, but also I love it for this grungy look so I've, let my hair cool down for just a little bit, and now I'm going to use this is called toss old, texturizing mist it's from money. I really really like it on my dry hair for curls. Like this, a lot of people use it as a styling aid for their natural curly, hair and they'll scrunch it into wet hair. I will tell you it is called a mist, but honestly it should be called tousle texturizing rocket because it shoots out so fast. You do not want to just spray it on your hair because it is a very hard stream. So what I do is I squirt into my hand about four pumps and then I rub it together and I like to compare it to a spray gel. But honestly, it is not Vicki or as stiff as a spray gel, but I just like to use it to go in and break up my curls and then I'll do like just a little another squirt it on my fingertips and go under and give me a Little bit of volume at the roots, but I like it because it gives you a pretty good hold like a hairspray but also just helps break up those curls. And then I like to finish it with a drop or two of rejuvenate oil. Also by ma Nate. It is made up of 13 different, essential oils, and it's made to mimic your hair and your skin's and natural oils, and so I just like to go through with it at the end and just kind of scrunch it in for a little extra shine and also Just a little extra moisture through the ends, but that's it. What do you think this is one of my favorite styles, because it's super fast. It'S super easy and it doesn't have to be perfect. It'S got that lived-in look to it and since I was wearing a flannel, I thought I should go. Maybe with my little bit a 90s grunge look. So thanks so much for watching today.
