Hey everybody, its PJ McGuire, the adventure of rapper ooh and right now I am deep conditioning my hair, but once I rinse it out, I'm going to show you how I style my curly top knot, bun in less than 10 minutes uh-huh. You heard that right, less than 10 minutes, so I'll be right back. So the first thing that I do is when I rinse out my conditioner, whether I'm using a deep conditioner or a regular conditioner, a rinse out. I rinse it out with my head upside down and what this does is. It gets the hair going in the direction of a top knot so that I don't have to do a bunch of extra work to get it on top of my head. Then I take my wrapper ooh and tie it on my head. There are multiple ways to tie a wrapper ooh. This is the way that I tie it when I am going to do my top knot, fun and then wipe off my face, because goodness knows, I'm back, you feel like you're gon na dry, my phone when you rinse your hair upside down. So now I just give it a little squeeze get some of that excess water out. Now I have to tell you that I learned how to do this. Wonderful wipe my face again. Cuz the water is o still on there. I learned how to do this top knot, bun from Ayesha Strickland, who is a curly hair guru. I don't have any other word to explain her. She is part of the duo on Instagram that is called. I am the LAT girl curls, and she taught me so much about how to care for my curly hair, especially considering that I wear my hair straight about 75 % of the time and, as you see, I'm still able to retain link and I'm able to retain Most of my curl pattern, I do have some straight ends that need to be chopped off, but I don't really worry about them because again I wear my hair straight most of the time and whenever I go in for my trims, we just chop those loose ends Off but I used to have a fantastic ebook as well as a digital salon that you have got to be a member of if you want healthy, natural curly hair now, so she taught me this method, and you do this with foam. Very quick, very easy. Very simple: I use my Roby foam because that's just the one that I have found that my hair likes the best and it's really simple I'll show you denier, be fun, really really simple. You just part your hair and just Salalah, a literal slick there off on the phone, get it in there, nice and saturated everywhere. I'M feeling a dry spot here in the middle, throw a little bit more in there perfect. Okay and again, it's already headed in the topknot direction, wipe my face again, it's already having the topknot direction because I rinsed my hair going down. So it's already headed where I need it to head already: detangle it in the shower, and so now I'm really just getting it ready to go into position and make sure that I've got all the hairs, nice and saturated with the bump. You can probably use any phone. As I said, I use a Nairobi foam. I don't remember what foam I Easter wear uses for hers when she wears her curly buns, but I don't think it actually matters as long as it's a good quality foam. Okay. Now what I'm gon na do is yeah. I can't see so let's go ahead and put these glasses on, so I can better see what I'm doing so. I do something a little different, and I do this only during the time when my hair is setting. So, first of all I take a wonderful puff puff. I think this is the junior size I can't remember, but anyway I take a puff puff. I'Ve already got my hair piled up, got all of my good old Nairobi foam on there, okay and now what I do and again this is only to get my hair to set smooth once my hair is pretty much dry and set. I take this off. I take one of these, which is an elastic that has hooks on the top and the bottom, and I put it underneath the puff cuff again. This is only for a short period of time, as my hair sets, so that I can make sure that it lays down the way that I want it as soon as I take a scarf off and see that my hair has laid down. I immediately take that off because you do not want to have that on for too long, because that tension, you already know you need to protect your edges, and the puff cuff, is great for keeping your hair in place without any tension or pain or damage to Your edges, so now I'm just going to take a little bit of that extra foam out of there. I don't need all of it. I got a little happy with the phone, but now what I can do are two different things. Sometimes, if especially now that we're on quarantine and sitting at home - oh this bathroom, I will just take it and do just a quick, easy small bun like this. Now one of the things to keep in mind is, as your hair dries its gon na get bigger. My hair at least doubles by the time it is completely dry, so I take another one of the elastics and has the hooks, and I just hook it in, and I make sure that my bun is loose and the reason I need to leave it loose is Because it's going to grow and get bigger, so I just kind of mess with it play with it once it's dry, I'm going to fiddle with it some more to really get it the way I want it, but if I'm just going to be sitting around the House and not doing a whole lot. I just wear it like this and again it will double in size and get a little bit bigger, but no, we like big buns, so I'm gon na do something a little different with it. So I take the top one out. The one on the bottom is still there, because we haven't gotten her hair, all dry yet or even close to dry, but what I'm going to do is add just a little bit of extra fun. I'M gon na put in some clippings, even though my hair is already long. My buns are already big. I like them to be extra big sometimes so I just take my clippings very, very simple. I put one in the back and it really just depends on which ones I've washed recently how many of the pieces I put in whether they have two clips three clips. All of that is truly dependent on what is washed and clean and ready to go. So then, this time I'm just going to put in two sometimes I put in three really depends on what I have going on. We'Re gon na get some extra foam off my skin here, okay, and so now I just do the same thing. I just kind of fluff it all to get it started on its path to growing and getting bigger. I gather all of it up and then I just take it and start to twist, which I cannot do without looking in the mirror. Apparently - and I just twist around there and now I do the exact same thing with the elastic that has the hooks now, the key is still to do it a little bit on the loose side because of the fact that your bun is going to grow as It dries so here it is now, as I said once, this is dry. This bun will be about probably about here and it'll. Go all the way around. It'S gon na be big and full and cutest again we love big buns. So what I do sometimes I do this at night - I'm very aware that you're not supposed to shampoo and sleep on wet hair trust me. I know I've heard but a lot of times I will go swimming and if I go swim at 6 or 7 o'clock, that's not enough time for my hair to dry before I get into bed. So what I do is, I will go ahead. Do this again? Very very loosely, but the pieces then get it all ready to go, and then I will show you how I sleep and I sleep with this every night, whether my hair is wet or my hair is dry. I just take a buff. This is an original buff, not one of the knockoff buffs, so I take a buff put it on over the bun. Sometimes if I'm thinking I will put this on before, I start the process, but obviously today I wasn't thinking so I take the bun. The buff put it up over the bun, which will also protect the bun, while I sleep, because I do sleep a little wild and all over the bed. Now I take one of these, I have no idea what these are called, but you get about any hair hair store, bu store, and then I put that on just so. It will help those edges lay down and help my hair to stay smooth and then that's how I go to sleep and when I wake up in the morning, I have a big gigantic amazing, bun and because of the foam and the way that I do this, The but typically lasts a good four days before it starts to get a little bit fuzzy so anyway, that's it. This is how I do my curly top knot bun in under ten minutes, and I will go ahead and list Ayesha Strickland's Instagram page a link to her book as well as any additional information. I think will be helpful for you to do a ten minute or less bun have a great day.

Yolanda Cummings: Great video PJ! I rinse my hair the same way. It really helps me to get my gel underneath and get rid of those pesky fat roots!

Shawanda Swayzer: Great video!!! This beats using eco styler.
