Hey guys welcome back to my channel, I am so happy to be here. I hope all of you had a beautiful start to your new year. I wanted to come in and briefly share what to expect from this channel moving forward. I know some of you have seen that I started doing family Vlogs and I absolutely love doing those and we will be uploading more. So thank you to everyone that support and watch those Vlogs. We have a lot of fun doing it. I also wanted to let you guys know that you will be seeing some beauty content along with some lifestyle content on this channel, and I'm pretty sure you guys are wondering about my regimen. So currently I follow a very, very simple routine. I follow more of a traditional wash and go routine with my hair, and basically all I do is shampoo condition and style. I do not follow any methods like the curly girl method or anything like that anymore. That, honestly, just isn't um my thing anymore. I don't have anything against it, but I prefer to just keep it really simple now and I've noticed a huge change with my hair when it comes to how it performs with different products like I thought it was doing. Well then, but now, since I have Incorporated shampoo into my regimen, I love the way my hair looks like I feel like it has more volume, more body, more shine, and every time I try a new product. I just shampoo, and you know, use that new product and I can also tell if that product is performing better as well. I do not get any build up. I use silicones now and I don't have any issue with those because I use shampoo like I just do not over complicate my hair regimen anymore, and I love that feeling of not overthinking about it and just doing what I want to do and doing what makes Me happy not about any Trends or anything like that. I know when we first started. You know everyone was trying to figure everything out and now you know it's kind of like all good. How about how about makes you happy and we figured it out. You know, hair products are so much better now and it's so many different products out now, so we actually have options. I do not regret doing anything from my past because I think that is hair history and we were in a time where everyone was trying to learn their new hair and now a lot of people pretty much know what to do with their hair and what they Want from their hair regimen - and I love to see it - I know a lot of people who you know were heavy in the natural hair game years ago, and some of them don't even have natural hair anymore or they lock their hair. Some of them relax their hair. Some people have cut their hair, I'm one of the people that cut my hair several times and um yeah they're just having fun with it, and I think that is what it really is all about, embracing your hair, having fun with it and just going along with The flow, so I will share some hair tips with all of you. I do not mind doing that and I will share what I am currently using, like my favorite shampoos, my favorite deep treatments, and how I like to diffuse my hair and those type of things. You know anything that has to do with hair regimen um, but I want to know if you guys still follow. You know certain regimens or you have lot ear, hair or cut it or now you're a straight natural or you know, you're relaxed now or whatever. I would love to hear what you guys have going on so please feel free to. Let us know in the comments, because I really want to know you know what's going on with you as well. Some of you may know this, but I do not live in Colorado Springs anymore. We moved to Denver in 2018 and recently we just sold our home that we moved into in 2018 and it's like 2018 2019 and we just moved into a new space in September. So this is the new filming space for the videos. I like it a lot. It is really relaxing and nice and I've always wanted something like this. So I'm really happy about it and it's just great to have a space and I'm very grateful for everything. So I cannot wait to share with you guys, um what I have going on. I actually have a display of all my hair products, I kind of have it like on a floating shelf and it's really cute and I display it kind of like you know, if you're in a salon, I have it um displayed over here as well, so it Makes me feel good, I feel like I'm in a you, know, cool little spot and I'm pretty sure you guys can see from the family Vlog that the family's doing well, Belle is doing great um Junior he's in high school. Now he is in the 10th grade and he's 16 years old bill is seven years old, she's in the second grade and she's doing well. We still go to the hospital every three weeks. She still have to get infusions for her condition. So, every three weeks on the dot I'm at the hospital um and you know, spending time there with her. So I just wanted to come in and just let you guys briefly know what we have going on. I cannot wait to catch up with all of you again. I love to switch it up... curly, straight, protective styles... whatever I'm feeling. I pay attention to what my hair needs at the moment & go from there. Mahogany_Hues: Love that you’re back I’m a straight natural. My curly hair was too stressful, loving my hair now. Incidentally, I’m African and when younger, we always wore our hair stretched, either by threading, plaits, twists etc Curly styles were only worn by those with a curly perm. Wash and gos are an American concept, which while pretty, is too much work. I believe the reason why Africans found it easy to manage our natural hair was because it was always stretched.

I learned a lot from you and other ‘OG’ ‘natural hair gurus’ who I believed were really trying to help us figure out how to care for and maintain healthy natural hair. I too no longer do the CG method, and use silicones, hair grease and get a silk press once a year. I have a weekly (about 90%, 10% every 2 weeks) hair wash day: prepoo; shampoo; deep condition (steam my hair); style for flat twist out. I also make DIY conditioners, scalp sprays, hair butters and Ayurvedic oils that I learned from other fantastic Youtubers. My hair is thriving!
Sha Nell Bell: Back in 2013 your video was the first I came across when going natural, the next day I went and bought EcoStyler gel and mastered my wash n go. I was in that phase of getting to know my hair. Now fast forward 10 years later I keep it real simple without a strategic regimen plus those days of hoarding hair products are OVER for me Thanks so much for your content over the years with natural hair

I am trying to simplify my regimen, but I like trying new things(mainly testing new products for my hair line), but am planning on getting back to the basics as I noticed more consistent growth and health when I kept it simple. I'm still natural buy for the first time this year I've experimented with incorporating box braids into my routine as I hit a style run now that with age my hair is thinning. Volume is critical as my curls are also very fine. I'm so glad you shared that tip about shampoo and silicones because I've been so unsure about trying new products as the market changes so rapidly. I also get silk presses more often. I probably won’t ever relax my hair, but I was just getting bored with styling my hair in it’s natural state. I may eventually get bored with stretched hair and go back to twist outs, etc. Who knows? But I do love the versatility of our hair.
