Hey guys welcome to my channel or welcome back today, i'm going to be doing just a quick little tutorial on ye olde favorite dyson air wrap. I feel, like everyone got one for the holidays. So if you did - and you are here hello - i got you because i got short hair. I cut off my hair last year and i actually had the air wrap before i cut my hair and i would use it so much and i thought to myself like am i still going to be able to enjoy my air wrap with my bob and the Answer is yes, so i'm gon na show you guys how i create voluminous, really beautiful waves with my dyson air, wrap on short hair, so uh, let's go ahead and get into it. So i have just been letting my hair air dry now for about an hour, and one thing i'll say is you can just go ahead and grab this attachment and rough dry? Your hair do not go into your airwrap with like soaking, wet hair. You want it to be damp, you want it to be like 70, 80 percent dry, even 90, and that's the great part of it. You can let it air dry or you can go ahead and use that attachment to give it a rough dry. I already went ahead and threw in a little bit of oil on my ends and heat protectant use your heat protectant, because, even though the air wrap does like have heat protection like it's not as damaging on the hair, i still like to use heat protectant. So the next attachment we are going to grab is this bad boy here i love love this attachment, so i in my vlogs all the time, use this for when i do like a straight blowout with like a beautiful curved in look. If you watch me regularly, you know i use this like every day, but even when i want to do a curl, i'm going to start with this by getting some volume on my roots. So i'm going to take the attachment, put it right up on the roots and move in circular motions, just to kind of lift the root, give me a little more volume, so we have cool hot and hotter. We have three levels of fan. We have turning it on and then, if you go up higher, you have the cool shot, which is so amazing for setting your curls. So i'm just going to put this on the second speed of the fan and then just like the normal heat, not hotter, because you don't want to burn your scalp and i'm putting it on i'm going to kind of lift the root kind of move it around And you can see, we immediately have some lift on the roof, so that is how i would recommend starting off your process. Even if you're gon na end up blow drying, you know a straight classic blowout. Look it just it's such a great little tip to get some volume all right now that we've got some nice lift, i'm just gon na part, my hair in half and section up the top half with a clip so again make sure your hair is like 90 Dry at this point, so it comes with two types of wands, so we've got these thicker ones here and then the thinner ones, because i have short hair, i'm going to use the thinner ones, because i don't have a lot of hair to wrap around and these You know will require more uh diameter, so, as you can see, they have arrows going in the direction that the air is gon na flow. So i like to go away from my face on both sides, so i'm gon na take the arrows that go away from my face. I am gon na turn the heat up for this one. I have really thick hair it can handle it do what's best for your hair. So i like to work in about an inch section, and i honestly do what i used to do for my long hair. So i'm gon na put this upside down and i'm gon na wrap it and the curl holds in place. Now i'm going to push this button up right here to the cool shot, hold that for a few seconds, that's going to lock in your curl and then release, and then we have a cute little curl cute little curl. That cool shot is so so so so important. If you want your curls to last, i've been seeing a lot of people having a hard time getting their curls to really hold that cool shot at the end is so important. So if you want it to be more of a beach wave, i'm going for like a voluminous kind of fluffy look. One of the tricks is with this. You know the tutorial. Is you hold it here and the hair magically wraps around? It'S super cool. You can kind of control how you would with a curling wand, so you know you can wrap it around and then hold out the section at the end to get more of a straight bottom rather than just like kind of a baloney curl like this. So i'll do an example for you so take a piece wrap it around. Even just once hold that end out, so it doesn't curl cool, shot and turn it off, and it's going to give you the same effect that a curling wand would do so. It'S really just cutting out an extra step, and you can do it either way, depending how you want your curls to look. I just love the voluminous curled look right now. I feel like it's so trendy to have that bouncy, blowout, look and like you can still have that on short hair, but i wanted to show you if you want more of a beachy wave effect with your air wrap hold the end out. You can manipulate this. How you want to you, don't have to use it like the wrap around the whole set of hair for the short pieces. It is kind of easier to just like hold it up to the hair and it does wrap around by itself. That is the beauty of this. For those shorter pieces like it'll just grab the hair, you don't have to like try to wrap around and burn your hand, but that's the nice part about it. I am going to go ahead and swap over to this one. So i can work on this side of my head and the curls you know, will fall a little bit as well like they don't stay totally. Surely temple i like to also spray as i go each section. This is the paul mitchell. Soft style super clean light. Setting spray, it just adds a little bit of hold without being like crunchy all right, so i might even section one more time just because i do have really thick hair and we're just gon na continue the cycle all right back to the other side, all right And then the last section guys i kid you not. This is so quick like it probably takes me about 10 minutes when i'm not filming. Oh my god, i totally forgot to spray. I just told you guys i like to spray, and then i forgot to spray all right, a little spray, a little spray, and now we do the last section the exact same way, but i do have a quick little hack for more volume. I love volume. So i'm going to grab this attachment right here. This is essentially going to give you the same effect as a round brush, so you can go ahead and take the crown of your hair and you can hit the root just like this and just turn it on. It is going to give you so much lift. This is the secret for volume hit it with a cool shot, always hit it with a cool shot after set it in place and then turn it off and then just find your part again. Oh my god. Look at the volume - oh, my god! I love it. I'M sorry, but like do you guys see that lift? Do you see that lift okay? Anyway? Now we just continue on like we did. I will say you know, having shorter hair and doing this. You might run into a few issues where, like the hair won't stay wrapped around, you have to kind of this happens every time. Every time i do my hair, my fire alarm is like we're on fire. Anyway, you might have to hold the curls in place for a second until the air wrap really holds it just because it is shorter, hair, so much volume, so much volume so hit it with some spray. Don'T be shy with that one, oh, my god. Okay, so we're gon na let those cool down and i'm gon na finish this side the same way. Okay - and here we are with our final results, i recommend waiting about 10 minutes. However long it will take for your curls to really really cool down and set brushing them out too soon is just going to make your curls fall and not last so spray them. Let them cool leave them as long as you possibly can, and now i take my brush. You can also use your fingers and i just start to brush through. Oh, my god, look at that, like i love the wave that it turns into like see how it kind of ends up flowing into this really beautiful, voluminous curly wave. Your hair will look super healthy yeah. I just i love it. You guys will have to. Let me know what you think: are you going to give this a try? If you want more volume, you can tease your roots even more, but i feel like it gives me kind of just the perfect amount. I also love to tuck one behind the ear and then it also looks really pretty if you want to kind of do that really nice flip that people do like how romantic is this so yeah? I love this.
