I got a confession: ah crazy, overdid it over the holiday all the eating and the drinking has caught up with me, and I am now in a place where it's time for me to get back to my fitness regimen and how I'm gon na do that rocking. My short hair y'all know I like to keep it pulled together and polish the pixieish way. I got some Pro tips that I use and I'm here to share them with you. If this is your story, you ain't got ta raise your hand, I'm raising my hand for us. Let'S get into my top tips for maintaining your short relaxed hair while working out foreign, I found it so helpful to bundle my workout days. My schedule in the salon is toward the end of the week. I only work three days a week, so it's either Wednesday, Thursday Friday or a Friday Saturday, Sunday I'll, never work no Sunday, why I say that it's either Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Thursday Friday Saturday end of the week right. That gives me the rest of my week to have flexibility with my workouts. My current workout of choice is my Peloton. I am team Peloton. I don't know if y'all got one if you do drop your handle in the comments, I would love to be inspired and Inspire y'all. We can follow each other. We can do the rides together. You know all of the Peloton things, that's my workout of choice. So, on those days when I'm not in the salon, I don't necessarily have to be like Salon ready. I go ham on those workouts Saturday is the day like I might want to step out. You know and hubby get off work or whatever have a brunch with a girl. So if I work out on Saturday, then I do early Saturday morning um but other than that I try to batch my workouts together. So a cluster of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Saturday Sunday Monday three days, has really been like a sweet spot where I don't feel like I'm like wearing myself out or committing to too much uh, and because I'm working out on the Peloton now and it's at the House it makes it a lot easier, so I would highly suggest that you batch or bundle your days. Another way I just it works for me, and people like me is to keep my hair super short, like a lot of people like to go short in the summertime, the weather's hotter, it's less hair, it's less uh to work through and be dealing with. I'M that way when I am getting um focused on my workout regimen, I don't need a lot of hair and I don't never have a lot of hair anyway. But when I say I go super short, I go super short. I could probably bump um yeah. I can bump with my micro iron at this length, but I don't I go super short. I add a little Razzle Dazzle. I keep my cut choppy so that I can go in and just kind of finger style and add some motion and lift it up. So it's not just molded flat to my head, but when I am focused on committing to and not having a lot of boundaries in place in regards to my hair for workouts, I go super short because it allows me to keep it still. Cute have personality. Look polished, but not have to worry about a whole lot of extra hair. Take that into consideration the length of your hair can free you up to have a little bit of a quicker pull together when you rock in short, relaxed hair wearing a partial relaxer, really helps to keep the size and the back leg down. You guys have probably seen my dry molding videos, if not, I will try to link to them here in the cars or down below dry molding is a quick and easy way to pull your short hair together without starting from the beginning. So if you sweat, but you sweat, and it just kicked up on your nape or your sideburns - it's acting wild or around the framing of your face - it's not doing what it needs to do. You can always take our pixieish molding mousse. It'S my mousse of choice and frame your face and fix whatever you need to fix. You can do that once or two times after a workout to pull your look together and it works so much easier. It dries quicker. It'S just such an easier process when you get a partial relaxer in between your full relaxer surfaces, using a mesh wrap a hair scarf something to tie around the exterior or the top of your head again in one of my previous videos, I've showed how I tie My hair up in different ways that you can do that I'll make sure that the information is in the description below to those videos but having something that that causes your hair to stay laid down is super important. Tying your mesh wrap or your head scarf around the exterior and leaving it in place, even after you're done with the workout is super important. It helps the hair to lay back in that place and then, once your hair is dry, you can take off whatever you use. While you were working out analyze, what needs to be done and then go in and fix it, whether that is you need to dry mold it using our molding mousse or if you need to put a little wax or brush it or whatever needs to be done To get it to your liking after a workout, you want to do that after your hair has dried with whatever you wrapped it up with. So don't immediately. Take it off because all the hair is going to do is start to crawl. Curl frizz fuzz not be right and then nine times out of ten. That'S what puts you in a situation where you feel like you have to constantly keep shampooing your hair, which is going to dry your hair out. So try this method of wrapping your hair, leaving it wrapped and not taking the wrap off until your hair is completely dry. Like I said my workout of choice. Right now is the Peloton which is in my house and if you are working out at home, whether you're riding a bike or whatever try to get your workouts in in a space where you can control the climate. So using a fan in front of my Peloton or using my ceiling fan, that's in this room or closing the vents in this room because it's winter I know some places is colder than others in Texas. We have the heat on, but it ain't like that. So I can manipulate the climate in the room that I'm working out in to minimize the fact that I'm super sweating, even when I'm doing my cardio or I'm doing like a hit or something that is high impact, Fast Pace that is going to get me sweating. I can kind of control how much I'm sweating to a little bit of a degree based on the environment. I choose to do my workout in and how I choose the climate so get you a fan that blows on you. If you are doing something stationary on your treadmill on the road on your Peloton, something like that or if you're doing weights having that blowing on, you will help to keep you a little bit cooler and hopefully minimize the sweating and the need to do the most. With your hair, the last thing you want to do is be in the habit of using products when you're in the flow of your workouts that are not hydrating. Your hair moisture is important, so your products of choice should be products whether they are your moisturizing creams or your daily shine products. And all of these things they need to be putting some extra moisture in your hair, because you're sweating, you're working out and you're trying to maintain that style without over shampooing. Your hair y'all know I'm team pixie-ish. I'Ve created this line of products to support the short hair community in maintaining their hair at home, also, all of our our moisturizer, our hair foam, our oil, even our Pomade, which is a wax based product, but has flax seed in it. Everything in the line is thought out and includes something that is going to add to the moisturization of your strands, I'm intentional about it. All of these products were built out of me, working with short hair, rocking short hair and having insight to what we need to maintain our hair and especially for you guys who are maintaining at home. So if you are looking for products to support your short hair, relaxed hair maintenance at home, it's a win-win. It'S pixie-ish, it's pixieish all day child, it's pixie-ish all day. Lastly, something that can really help when you do visit the salon, as you are on your workout, regimen and wearing relaxed and short hair, is to get treatments. A conditioning treatment is a great luxurious experience for your strands that locks in moisture that can carry you as you go through your week or your month, and you are pumping it out and sweating and going through all of the things as your stylist works. With your hair, as you share with your stylist, the journey that you're on for health and fitness, they will be able to pinpoint what your hair needs, whether it's protein or whether it's moisture or whether it's whatever your hair, needs getting those treatments on a regular basis. As you are working out and making this transition will really help your hair to thrive, and not only will your body be getting fine, but your hair will be staying strong. I hope you found this video helpful and you use these tips to find a sweet spot between maintaining your short relaxed hair and getting your workout on tap into this video here for some tips on caring for your short relaxed hair.
