Using hair extensions can be intimidating but with these simple steps you will find that it's easier than you thought. Your hair extensions do not have to match your hair exactly. It will end in with your natural hair if you get a color close to your hair color.

If you want to see how to get your hair to go from this to this, then please just keep on watching. Let'S go over the items that i'm going to be using today before we get into the hair tutorial. So first you're going to need a dry shampoo. Any dry shampoo will work. Currently, i'm using the dove care between washes dry shampoo, next you're, going to need a hair protectant. So i just have this random one that i picked up from target. I don't have one! That'S my favorite, but this one is the blaze heat, protectant and primer spray and then you're going to need a curling iron. I am using the t3 curling iron. This is only if you want a curly hair. Look. You definitely can go more of a straight hair. Look with these hair extensions and then you're going to need a few bobby pins and then, of course, you're going to need your hair extensions. Okay. So first i like to spray all of my hair with my dry shampoo and let it really soak in there. I'Ve got my curling iron heating up right now. This dry shampoo gives my hair a little bit more texture and it helps the extensions to clip in a little bit better and have more staying power. Okay, so now that we've got our hair covered with the dry shampoo you're going to want to rub that into your hair, rub it in so you don't have a white cast okay! So next i like to get my hair extensions ready. It does come in this beautiful box that says google hair extensions on it and then inside of the box, it comes with a little instructions kit, a couple of extra clips in case you need it. It does come with a hair clip which i've already pulled out for parting, my hair and then, of course, your hair extensions, and they come in this cute little bag here to help protect them and keep them from getting tangled. So here is the hair extensions that i'm going to be using. These are in the 14 inch. I wanted to get ones that weren't too much longer than my natural hair. As you can see, they have a little bit more of a golden tone to them than my natural hair. That'S because i used purple shampoo yesterday, i probably shouldn't have, but if i didn't use the purple shampoo, then my hair is pretty close to this color mine is in the ash blonde. With the blonde highlights. Your hair extensions kit should come with a four hair clip that is the clips right here, so they have four clips on it. Just one of those two of the three hair clips which look just like this, so they have three little hair clips on there and then two of the two hair clips and then one of the one hair clip in your kit. Okay. So, starting off with the very bottom of our hair you're going to want to separate a very thin layer of hair at the bottom, you don't want much out at all, keep in mind guys. This is how i do my hair extensions um. You can do them, however, way works best for you. This is just what works best for me, so i like to pull just a small amount out. You could even go thinner than that if you want to, and what you're going to do is you're going to take that very small amount and twist it up and once you've got it all twisted up you're going to roll it at the bottom of the hip Of your hair and bobby pin it up and the reason why you do this is because, when you have longer hair extensions in and you have shorter pieces underneath the hair extensions they poke out, and it gives away the fact that you're wearing hair extension. So i'm just twisting this behind my head i'll, show you what this looks like in just one second and then you're going to take your bobby pins and you're gon na pin it that way. None of those little baby hairs are poking out at the bottom. Okay, let me show you what that looks like, so you can see my little hairs are pinned down that way. They don't stick out from the bottom, so you're going to take a three hair, clip first you're, going to open up your little clips and then you're going to put it in the back of your hair right above where you pinned that hair down. So let me show you so right here and what i like to do is i'm sorry guys. I just hit the camera. What i like to do is create a little bit of friction and put in there some people like to tease their hair. I don't like to tease my hair um. It just damages your hair, so i don't like to do that, but that is what it should look like once you have your first hair clip in so we use the three hair clip now we're going to go ahead and use the for hair clip so you're Going to take your hair down again, this part you're, going to part the four hair clip needs to go on the widest part of your head. So, right above your ears, is where you're going to put this one again, you do the same steps you separate. Let'S see so, i want to go a little bit even higher. Let'S see, okay so right above your ears, pull that hair back up and out of the way, and then i like to pull it all out, straighten it make sure you got it at a good length or a good spot in your hair. Okay. So now, with the four hair clip like i said, it's going to be the widest part of your head, so open your clips. Sorry, if this is a little bit repetitive, so we're opening all of our clips, i like to create a little bit of friction in my hair, just using my fingers. A lot of people like i said like to tease their hair and that does work better, but for my hair i'm trying to grow it out, so i don't want to create any uh damage to my roots of my hair. So then you what you're going to do is you're going to find the center. So right here see how that goes almost to your ears. That'S why you want it to go right above your ears, so same thing as before: you're going to line up right where you parted your hair, i create a little bit of friction and what i'm doing, let me show you, i'm just moving it up and down That makes sure that those claws get really in to my hair that way it really catches on to there. So i've got my two clips in there and they're nice and tight, and you can see i still have two more so for me when i first started doing hair extensions, i wasn't pulling these tight enough and it wasn't laying flat against my head so make sure You pull it tight and then same thing get it all up in there no rush. We want these to last all day long same thing with this side and sometimes i'll push a little bit of hair in there and then there we go, you can see. Let me turn around. You can see that those are nice and flat with my hair. So then i like to pull it forward, make sure everything's looking pretty good. So you can see my natural hair is a little bit darker. That will be fine once we curl it it's going to blend in that's why i really like to curl my hair extensions. So next is another three hair clip that's gon na, be our last three hair clip so right above where we already went. We'Re gon na part it you just got ta, i'm sorry about my dogs, guys you just have to make sure there's enough hair in between where your clips are not clipping on to each other. So you just want to do a thin layer of hair, but make sure you see how i have here's my clip. Let me show you guys: here's the clip right here and then there's this much hair, so a little bit of hair over top, so that your next clip has hair to clip into so we're gon na smooth that all out create some little bit of friction there. That way, all those little hairs get caught in that clip. When i first started doing my hair extensions, i didn't do this part and they would slide out throughout the day. So it's really important to create some sort of a friction. So i've just opened my clips as you can see there we're going to center it right in the back of our head same thing, same process as before, up and down, and then close the clips closing the clips, nice and flat make sure it's flat. You don't want any bumps back here and then let's pull it forward, so you can see my hair starting to look a little thicker a little prettier. Okay. So now we're going to start doing the front pieces. That'S why we have single ones so see how there's nothing up here in the front. Well, we want something up there in the front, so you can either do it now and pull out a little bit more hair. I'M sorry! You can either do it now or you can pull out a little bit more hair. So i like to assess and see we only have one single hair clip, so i think i'm going to do a little bit more hair out before i put that one in. So, let's do another section if your hair is longer and you're just using it for thickness. You just need one, maybe two clips and then i would just use the three or four hair clip for that. But if your hair short, then you do need to use at least most of the clips that way. Um, you don't see all your short hairs poking through okay. So now we're we only have two two hair clips left and one or two one hair clips left. So i'm gon na take the two hair clip and i'm gon na put it in the back here same thing: oh, let's create our friction. It'S important guys and then we're going to put this in here same thing, same exact steps as before, but now we're going to leave our hair parted just like it is, and we're going to put our one hair clips here on the side. You don't want to put it too close to your face because you'll be able to see the clips, so your shorter layers are okay peeky now it just looks like a little curtain, bang or something like that um, but for the clips that are around your face. Don'T put them too close, or they will show so all right. Let'S get that clip in there see that might even be a little bit too close, we'll see once we're all done, but for now we're gon na leave it right there adding a little friction and then, let's put that clip in, i tried to line it up About the same as the other one get some hair in there make sure see how that is. If i pull on it i mean it moves a little, but not not too much, and if you tease your hair, then it will stay a little bit better than what i'm doing. Okay last two hair clip guys and then your top layer will just look like a layer in your hair. So now i like to part my hair same thing as before, but this time you want to make sure that the amount of hair that's out on top, because this is our last hair clip. You want to make sure that the last amount of hair, that's out, is the amount that you want to be a shorter layer to layer around your your face. If you have shorter hair like i do so, let's clip that up last two hair clip. So i already feel, like my hair, is nice and heavy um and thick, which i love, love thick, hair? Okay, so let me show you guys, i actually didn't pull out enough hair, but let me show you so when i turn around there's a very thin layer of hair. Hopefully you guys can hear me there's a very thin layer of hair above the. So i would be clipping a clip into a clip which puts too much weight onto the clip and then it will fall out. So i'm going to take a thin layer just back here the front pieces. I like how much is up here, so i just took a thin layer of the very back hair to cover that clip. Keep in mind guys. You don't want the clips too close to the top of your hair, because then they will poke out and that's when people can start to see your clips. Okay, so i've got my hair out a little bit more. You can see all this hair now we're going to do, do do and then sorry, you guys are seeing my arms and armpits um. Then we're going to clip this in so create some friction. This one is really important. It stays flat so make sure you pull it tight against your head. There we go, so you guys can see that hopefully, and now all of our clip-ins are done so, let's undo our hair so find your part wherever you like. Your part i, like mine, usually down the center, maybe a tiny bit to the side like that and then you're going to get your brush and carefully bro see i can feel a loose clip. So you want to make sure those clips are nice and tight up against your head. Otherwise they will poke out. So this one i didn't pull tight enough. So i'm just going to pull it's clipped in right here, i'm going to pull this a little bit, making sure it's nice and tight, so it doesn't poke out through my hair. Okay, now we're gon na brush through, and you definitely can straighten your hair and leave it straightened and just kind of blend it in by straightening it. But i don't like my hair well, i do like my hair straight, but i usually like it curled. So now you can see how that looks. It just gave me a little bit of length. This is my natural hair, and this is the extension. So now what we're going to do to blend it is to curl it. So i'm going to separate my hair very carefully. You want to separate it right along a clip, so it can be the bottom clip it could be. I like to do the middle clip of hair extensions. So when i have my hair extensions in, i don't like to do too many layers, i usually do three or four layers of hair when i curl my natural hair, but for hair extensions. I don't like to do that, so we're going to just give our hair a curl. You can curl it. However, you want, but when i have extensions in and i curl my natural hair in with my extensions, then it blends it. You see how it just looks like it's a streak that darker piece instead of um, instead of just being my hair - and this is real hair - these extensions - they come in size 14 inch 16 inch 22 inch. I almost got the 22 inches, but i thought you know what i want something that kind of as my hair grows out, cause i'm trying to grow it out. I wanted something that would just give me some extra volume when my hair gets to that length and thickens my hair up a little bit, so you can see it just blended, my real hair in with my extensions. So if you guys get extensions that are not from the google hair brand make sure they're real hair, or else you won't be able to chrome, they will just melt as you curl. So i'm going for like a looser hair curl today, so i don't want to curl it too long or have the heat on it too long, and now i'm going to do a top section. So we're doing three sections put that in there pull the hair forward. Be careful when you pull your hair forward or you're separating your hair you're, not loosening your your clips. So here you can see these pieces up front or my hair. This is the extension, so i'm putting them together so that they curl together and there isn't short pieces sticking out. So let's curl that so you can see my hair curled right in with the extension. So again, we're going to do that again over here, separate your hair and you can curl your hair. However, you want to you, don't have to curl it the way i'm curling it and then grab another piece. So i'm just going to continue curling my hair and i'll be right back to show you guys, the top part. I am done curling the bottom part. So now we're going to take out the top and then we're going to curl this top part. I feel like the top part, is what is most important. You have to make sure you're grabbing pieces of your real hair and blending them with your extensions. So right here this is all my real hair, which will be fine because it just looks like a bang. But if this wasn't the front piece, i would have to figure out a way to combine my extension with it. So let's just do a little curl. All right so these pieces here these top pieces, i'm going to grab some of the extension, even though it's already curled, because i want them to be curled together, so that they intertwine with each other. So here we go, let's curl it. I also like to curl the top pieces closer to my head, whereas the bottom pieces i just kind of - did a quick little curl. So, let's find all these pieces and let's get a little bit hair with a little bit of extension and curl it together and you're, going to do this all the way around your hair and then we'll finesse once we're done. Okay, so i have curled all of my hair. You can see it already blends pretty well, but now what i like to do is because i don't like a really curly look. You definitely could leave it the way it was, but i like to just run my fingers through it being careful with my clips not to pull on them or tug on them too much, and i feel like that. Just gives it a better look for me and from what i like. You will start to separate your hair, so you see how that's separated so we'll finesse with that a little bit later, but for now let's get the look that we like, which is a little bit a little bit less curly, okay. So now, what we're going to do is we're going to take a look at our hair and see what pieces need to be curled back together. Okay, i changed my mind because i don't want my hair to be any more curly than it already is. What i'm going to do is i'm going to take my pieces that you can see that are shorter and separating and i'm going to pair them with the extension. So, let's see, let's grab a piece so hair and tie it in with whatever strand of extension. That is supposed to be kind of curled with, and what i like to do is kind of. I got hair spray. I wasn't going to originally use hairspray, but we're going to we're going to spray our hand and we're going to twist that extension in with the hair and that kind of intertwines the extension with the hair without having to go super curly all right. Let'S do it to the other side now, so you can see. I have one here, but i mean that's not that big of a deal for me. You can see they are blending in quite nicely. So, let's do it again to the other side blend in those little pieces with the hair extensions. You can avoid this by putting the clips a little bit higher in your head and separating the space a little bit more, but my clips show through the top layer of my hair. So i don't like them to be too close to my hair. So i would rather have to do this extra step than to have to see little clips poking out there all right guys. So that is the final look. Let me get a little closer, so you guys can see. I feel like they blend in pretty well. What i'm going to do tonight is i'm going to wash them with my purple shampoo. Keep in mind. This is real hair. So that way it blends more in with my ashy purpley, not purpley, but gray, toned uh hair. Naturally, and then it will blend in a little bit better, but as you can see, they look really good. I was a little skeptical about the 14 inch, but i'm glad that i went with the 14 inch i like that. It just adds a little bit extra length to my hair, but here i hope that you guys found this video useful. If you did, please give me a thumbs up, let me know any tricks that you use to put in your hair extensions. I don't use hair extensions on a daily basis, but i definitely like to use them when i want to switch up my look a little bit or, if i'm going out and doing something really fancy. So give me your tips down below in the comments, but until next time, thank you for watching and bye guys.
