How To Curl Hair With A Straightener// Easy Curls// Beachy Short Hair Tutorial

Hey guys welcome back to my channel, so today i'm going to be showing you how i curl my hair um. If you've been following me for a while now, you would remember that i actually used to have quite long hair and i recently cut it short. I was probably not that recent. I did it a while back anyway um so yeah. I wanted to show you guys how i curl my hair. Now that it's shorter, i know short hair, can be a little bit tricky to curl um. So it doesn't look like a weird perm or a bob and stuff like that, all right. So when i curl my hair, i just use my cloud nine hair straightener. This is what i use um. I love it. I used to have a ghd which lasted me. I reckon like seven years and then it just stopped working very well. It was just turned to crap, so i read lots of reviews and pretty much everyone was saying. Cloud9 is really good now, so this is the hair straightener here. So, firstly, with me: everyone kind of parts their hair differently when they curl it, but i'm just going to show you what i do so i've washed my hair and i've just let it dry. Naturally, it's really important that you don't like straighten your hair or style. It before you curl it because the curls will not hold um, and if your hair doesn't dry super straight, then i will just blow dry it and makes it a bit more manageable. All right. So now i'm going to section my hair um into pigtails. That'S just going to help me keep my hair out of my face, so i'm just going to pop this side into a pigtail everyone sections their hair off differently when they curl it. This is just what i do and i just find it easier this way, even when my hair was long, give it a brush and then i'm just gon na section off the bottom part here. So it's probably about a third of my hair at the bottom and then i'm gon na just clip this up with my handy little clip here when it comes to curling sections of your hair. Obviously the smaller the section, the smaller the curl is going to be. Like the tighter it's going to be so, if you want beachy waves, you want to do bigger sections, so i do more medium size just because my hair holds better you'll just learn as you go, how your hair is going to hold. So i'm going to grab the top half of this little section here then i'm going to grab my hair straightener. If your hair doesn't hold really well, you can use a flexible, hairspray and spray it on to the hair before you curl it um, but just see how you go. So what i'm going to do is i'm going to be curling my hair away from my face. So i'm going to start at the top here and then i'm going to do a turn all the way around and then pull. But basically, i'm going to leave out this little bit at the end, because my hair is short and i don't want it to like fully curl at the end. So you got a little curl there. I don't brush through the curl, i'm basically going to curl my whole head and then i'm going to run my fingers through it just to make them hold better um. If you brush it before it cools down and sets it's not going to hold as well, the amount of turns you do with the hair. Straightener is just going to depend on how long your hair is. Obviously, if you've got long, hair, you're going to do more, but with my hair because it's a bit shorter, i only really get one full turn leave a little bit of the end out and then let go and you just give a little flick around. I curl my hair all in the same direction. I just like doing it like that. Some people like to alternate so they'd curl away from their face and then towards their face. I like to curl away from my face, because, obviously, when i get to these two parts here, i don't want it to be like flicking me in the face. So that's done at the bottom. I don't take ages to do this because i don't like really tight. Curls next section - and you literally just repeat this for your whole head at the top - i always find, though you always curl one side of your head better than the other. I usually kill this side better. I think, besides my like awkward side, so i thought i would do it first to get it out the way all right. So i've got i'm up to the front piece now and because i've been turning it away from my face, it's gon na be fine. Let'S grab that little front bit clamp at the top and turn like that. Oh goodness, so as you can see, the curls are looking pretty tight, but i want them to set so i'm just not going to touch them curl the other side of my head and then i can spray and run my fingers through it and it'll turn into More of a beachy wave, so i don't look like goldilocks anymore now, as you can see as i pull down the straightener, i'm doing it on an angle um, so it doesn't kind of get caught up i'll. Show you a bit closer, so you can see what i mean so, as you can see, as i'm pulling the hair straightener down the straightness facing towards the floor. So at the top twist and pull towards the floor last section and done, and that is all the hair curled so now what i'm going to do is i'm going to run my fingers through it and any bits at the ends that i need to straighten um? I'M just going to straighten them a little bit. So yes, so just run my fingers through it. So i've just combed my hair. I'Ve just used one of my kids brushes because you know anyway, so, as you can see now, the curls are a lot more soft um they've gone into that nice kind of beachy wave, look um but yeah.
