❤ Sadia

A few months ago i shared with you a video on money, saving hacks and in one of the tips i mentioned, that i've been cutting my own hair for at least the last five years. So in this video i'm going to show you how i do that now i'll be completely honest, i hesitated a little bit when it came to making this video, because i recognize that i am not a hairdresser. Nor am i a hair expert, but after i gave it some thought. I realized that pickup lines is about sharing with you simple and minimal ways of living. So if i found something that works for me, then why not share that with you? But look ultimately it's your decision if you want to follow along or not, but if this makes you feel nervous to cut your own hair or maybe it's not even the cut that you're going for then just disregard this video all together. But if you have been interested in cutting your own hair, giving it a trim or adding in some layers, then you might find this video helpful in some way, and just so you know this is after i've cut my hair. How about i show you what it looked like before? This is what the hair looked like curled, and it was just getting too long feeling a little bit wild and way down on top of the head, and what you can see is the ends were a bit damaged and in desperate need of a trim. Here'S what it looked like straightened just to give you a better indication as to how long it really was so time to give it some more volume and get it looking a bit more healthy now to cut your own hair at home, you're just going to need Four simple things: some hair, elastics or hair clips, whichever you prefer you're, going to need some scissors that one should go without saying you're going to need some kind of brush as well as some kind of comb. I like to use both personally and that's really it now. You can choose to cut your hair dry, in which case i definitely recommend that you straighten it. So your hair is all the same length or you can choose to cut it wet. As you'll see, i've chosen to do, and in that case, you're going to need just one extra thing, like this little handy spray, bottle to make sure that your hair stays wet throughout the time when you're cutting it all right. So step number one is determining the length i start by dividing and separating the top two thirds of my hair into a bun, and i begin by cutting off the desired amount from the bottom third of my hair. To do this. I just brought this hair to the front and separated it into two parts, starting with the bottom piece. I run my hair through the comb, brushing it forward on a bit of an angle and then cut to my determined length so cut straight across with the scissors and then point cut point cut just means cutting into the hair like i'll be doing here. It gives the hair some more texture and it helps the layers bleed together a little bit more now we take this piece and use it as a guide by combining it with the other section so combing it all forward, as we did before, holding the hair firmly Between our fingers and then looking for the guide, which is the shorter part that we just cut then cut to the guide, but be careful not to cut the guide itself, you can also choose to point cut into the hair if you'd like but you'll see. I skipped it in this step because we're going to come back to cutting the front of the hair at the end of the video, but go ahead and point cut now. If it gives you peace of mind. So now you can see that when we cut the hair in this way, it already adds a bit of layers. The front pieces are shorter and what's going to fall into, the back is longer it's been about six months since i've cut my hair. So you see i've gone ahead and cut off a fair bit, but if it's your first time start by trimming modestly, you can always cut off more the next time. You do it if you ended up liking the results and also keep in mind if you're cutting your hair wet. It gets even shorter when it's dry, so cutting off less might be a better idea, especially if it's your first time after you're finished cutting on the other side. It'S always a good idea to double check that the lengths are the same on both sides, and in this case they are so we're good. Now i just repeat, as i did before, finding the guide and cutting to that length cutting across at first and then point cutting from the back you'll see that this style of cut naturally gets longer as it approaches the spine, and i feel this style of cut Suits me much better than when the hair is cut in a blunt straight line across the back. Now i'm going to tie away this part and get started on adding the layers for the layers i'm going to bring down the top two thirds of my hair that i tucked away before and i'll create a center part. You'Ll want to create a center part, regardless of how you part your hair. Naturally, when it's styled, then using my comb, i took a one centimeter section to the right of the center part and flipped it over to the opposite side of my head and tied away. All of the hair on the right side of my head, we're gon na come back to this later now using the comb. I neatly created a two centimeter section on the top of my head about one centimeter to the left and one centimeter to the right of the center part. Now it doesn't need to be exact, more or less is fine. Now this is the section we're going to use to determine the length of our shortest layer. So i begin by combing the hair straight up, holding the hair firmly between my pointer finger and middle finger. You just want to make sure that your fingers that are clamping the hair are parallel to the floor. Now, keeping that tension between the fingers, you can bring the hair down so that you can see it and cut it straight across blunt cut. First and then point cut in how much you choose to cut off is entirely up to you keeping in mind this is going to be the shortest visible layer you can see here. This is as short as it's going to be for me, and it's a length. I'M happy with now i'm going to move about half of this hair to the other side of my head, because i don't need it anymore, but i want to keep about half of it to combine with the new section of hair because i'm going to use it As my guide now that it's all been combined, we do the same thing: combing the hair, all the way up, holding firmly between the fingers and applying tension, keeping the fingers parallel to the floor and holding that tension between the fingers as you bring the hair down. In front of your face to cut, you should be able to see very clearly the guide, which is the hair that we just cut in the previous step. We want to cut to the guide without cutting the guide itself and i usually actually blunt cut about half a centimeter or so below the guide and then go in point cutting after this and that's pretty much all there is to it. At this point. It'S gon na get really simple, because it's gon na start to get really repetitive section away. Some of the hair you've just cut to the other side of your head, so it's out of the way, but keep some of that hair to combine with the new section. So it can be used as a guide combing up with tension, fingers parallel to the floor, cutting half a centimeter below the guide and then point cutting in. You might be wondering how layers are going to form if we keep cutting the hair to about the same height as we're doing here, keep in mind the head is curved, so layers will naturally form at different heights when we allow the hair to fall after we've Cut it when everything has been cut, you can bring the hair back to its original place, and i just sprayed it here to give it a brush to show you how the layers turned out. So, as you can see shorter layer on the top and longer layers on the bottom, of course, no extreme layers, just a modest amount to give it some texture and volume. Now we're going to move on to the opposite side of the head, but be sure to first separate a one centimeter portion to use as a guide before tying all of this hair away. Then you can let down the hair that needs to be cut and it likely also needs to be sprayed and combed through to make sure it's evenly wet. Now i've sped up this part of the video, because we do exactly what we did on the other side. Here, taking a new piece of hair and combining it with a previously cut portion, combing up finding the guide, as you can see here, which is the piece we just transferred over from the other side, and then we cut just below the guide and then start point Cutting in, i think, you're getting the idea. It starts to look like i'm cutting off a lot of hair and i'm sure it looks really daunting or scary. But i assure you, i've kept much of my length and you'll see that for yourself at the end of the video granted, it has been six months since i cut my hair last, so i cut off more than i would if i was cutting every three or So months, ultimately, though, cut off as much as makes you feel comfortable and if it's your first time cut less and see how you like the results, if you like how it turned out cut more the next time now, especially in this last part, you can see It starts to look like i'm cutting off a lot of hair, but trust me. It looks really good in the end and all the layers come together really nicely alright. So now both sides have been cut and layered and we're almost done. The only thing left is to frame the hair around the face, so go ahead and recreate the center part. You can also remove all of the hair elastics. We used to tie back the hair and spray the hair, if needed, to make sure it's all sufficiently wet. You can see the hair is already layered at the front of the face, but i like the layers to be a bit more noticeable and clean cut. So all we want to do is take the comb and draw a line from the center part down to the top of the ear, and we do this on both sides of the head. Then we tie away the hair on the back so that we can focus just on the hair that frames the face, wet it if needed, and then start to comb the hair down and on an angle holding the hair firmly between the fingers. You might need to do this a few times and take your time making sure you've got the hair held firmly because we're working with the front of the face. After all, this is not a section we want to mess up when the hair is evenly distributed between your fingers, you can begin to cut just a little bit off the length about a centimeter or so point cutting in with the scissors. As you work your way down the hair on an angle, so now that it's done, you can see that the layers are a little bit more pronounced and i usually like to go over this part one more time to make sure it's looking neatly cut on an Angle, cutting away any little stray bits as needed. Then we repeat this on the other side, because i'm right-handed with the scissors and it's easier for me to see what i'm doing on this side of my head you'll see that i cut the hair from the bottom up, whereas on the other side of the head, I was cutting from the top down, but really it doesn't matter in which direction you do it so long as you're cutting off the same amount from both sides. As you can see, i always do a check anyway to see if the layers are the same length on both sides of the face, and after doing this, i noticed i needed to cut off a little bit more. So that's what i'm doing now and checking this one more time. I see that the layers ended up being the same length on both sides. So i'm happy with it. Now you can let down all of your hair and i've just given it a spray and a brush to show you what the final layers look like when the hair is still wet before we begin styling, so you can see the layers are not extreme, but they Are definitely more visible and the hair has overall maintained its length, so even though it may have looked like we were cutting off a lot in the end, it still looks long and healthy. Now that the cut is finished, you can go ahead and part it. However, you normally would, i usually part it on a little bit of an angle on one side of my head, which naturally gives one side more layers than the other. Then the most important step is to dry and style your hair. However, you normally would so that you can see how the final result looks. I'M always so happy with it, and even after five years, i'm still dumbfounded with how easy it is to cut my own hair at home. So now that i've finished styling, my hair, you can see that the layers framing the face, look really cute and give it a lot of volume. Now a lot of you asked me what products i use in my hair, and the answer is simple. I don't use any products, i'm lucky to have a hair type that holds its style, so i don't need any mousse or hairspray or anything like that. The only thing i do use is a little tiny, tiny bit of coconut oil just to de-frizz the hair and of course it naturally adds a little bit of shine too. But i mean it when i say just a tiny bit. It goes a long way and you don't want your hair to be oily now. Let me show you the back. You can see that the hair looks healthy, it tapers really nicely towards the center and the layers make the hair look luscious and add plenty of volume. As well seriously, could this have been any easier? I thought i'd also show you the hair. When it's been straightened, so you can better see how the layers look. You can see now there's a lot of texture and the shortest layer is about shoulder length on me, but you can always make the layers more or less extreme, depending on how you, like it, curly, wavy or straightened the layers, look visible and beautiful, either way. All right so now you know how i cut my own hair at home and how i've been doing it for the last five years. It might go without saying i'm always so pleased with the results, or else i wouldn't be doing it time and time again. I love how light it feels afterwards. Above all else, i love how healthy it feels, especially with all the little dead ends, trimmed away and gone. So i like to keep up with it every three or four months by giving it a little trim. But of course, now you are at the liberty of cutting it. However, often you'd like that's one of the perks of being able to do it yourself at home, and i'm going to emphasize this one last time for good measure. If it's your first time cutting your own hair, please cut it modestly, at first so trim away just a little bit wait for the results, see if you like it. If you do the next time you cut it, you can always cut away a little bit more. If you'd like okay, that's it for today guys thanks a lot for watching, and i will see you next week, ciao you

Pick Up Limes: » EXTRA POINTERS: 1) to skip straight to the tutorial, forward to 1:40. 2) in the video I used hair-cutting scissors and I'd highly recommend using these instead of regular scissors for a cleaner cut ☺ Happy snipping ❤

flexica //: as a licensed hairdresser, this honestly is one of the best at-home haircutting videos ive seen.

M A: Y’all I just gave myself this haircut around midnight like a madwoman and didn’t even cut it as cleanly as this badass bish and it still turned out pretty great! I feel like I just discovered the secrets to life yassss!

Abby: I did this fully expecting to hack my hair, but oh my gosh it looks better than 90% of the haircuts I paid $50+ for!!

Megha Doshi: heyy, I tried cutting my hair by myself for the first time today and and and this is the happiest I've felt in 2021. Thanks for this video :))

Nicole Abercrombie: I just cut my hair like this and honestly it’s one of the best haircuts I’ve gotten in a long time. Thank you so much for posting this!

Mary's Test Kitchen: Love your technique! Now I feel like I should do a trim too

Rosie Kay: I just did this and it turned out great! Honestly was a bit of a struggle cause my hair is really long and insanely thick and also curly but it turned out awesome and it was fun lol. Thank you!

Emma Butler: ive cut my hair before, but its never really been like I wanted it, and this tutorial was perfect! not just because of corona, but because I am introverted and really abhor going to the hairdresser. i get so nervous. i really love how my hair turned out with this tutorial!

Jess Saade: It’s about time I comment on this video. I’ve been using this tutorial for over a year, and my hair is seriously the best it’s ever looked. This is also saying a lot because I have curly hair (type 3A/3B for any fellow curlies out there!). I’d always struggled to grow out my hair because of stylists chopping too much off during my salon visits. With this tutorial, I can give myself modest trims every 3-4 months and my hair is finally showing length!! I feel so empowered and no longer have that getting-a-haircut anxiety. Thank you, Sadia!!

Samantha Dunn: Thank you for such an easy way to get gorgeous layers! I'm in love! And I loved it so much my daughters made me do theirs too we all have tailbone length hair so took a bit of manoeuvring doing my own as I can't reach my ends going straight up Eta I've been cutting my own hair around three years now after a hairdresser took off 6 more inches than I'd asked for because she thought she knew better! But I did always love my layers and now I can do them myself!

Vico Escorcia: Finally worked up the courage to do this!! I'm SO happy I did, I love it. I did it on dry, flat ironed hair to be able to really see what I was doing. It is extremely easy if you do it with patience and attention.

Mary F: I have spent $300+ on salon haircuts; most have been good, some were awful. But I've been locked down since March 2020. My hair, just past my shoulders, had a lot of split ends and no shape. I trimmed it myself and added layers. Honestly, I liked my own haircut better than any of the salon haircuts I've had. I don't color my hair any more, so no more salons for me. I'll happily keep it trimmed and layered using this excellent video.

K L: Every time I follow along to this, I start off confident, start swimming in terror about halfway in, and when it’s finished- I’m confident again. Thank you so much for this video!!

Laura B: This is amazing! I've been cutting my hair on my own for a while. I looked into a lot of tutorials and this is by far the best. My hair hasn't looked this good in years! Also your recipe videos are great and I really like your style and positive vibes :)

KYZR: Thank you. I just cut my wife's hair using your tips.... and she's pleased with the results.

Olga Tuchina: I’ve been cutting my hair like this for the last 3 years, I’m so grateful this video exists☀️ Thank you

Felisha Murphy: Thank you so much for the tutorial! I’ve used this cut style on my long, thick hair the last year or so and I love it! So simple and easy to follow.

Lily Khan: Omg Sadia, thank you SO much for this tutorial. I cut my hair today using this video and I am soooo happy with the results. I can’t believe how easy it was! It’s my new favourite hairstyle :) thank you xx

OurGoldenMaknae😌💜: This tutorial is amazing! It's the second time that my mom does this to her hair and she lovess the way it turns out!!

Unusual Practical life: Great job! I am a hairdresser and I think you're doing a great job

Erin O'Loughlin: This tutorial was legitimately amazing, I love my hair after following it - finally had to give into the quarantine self cut. And it worked out so well!!!

Ovatini Losaki: Literally speechless! I’m really impressed Since we are on lockdown for almost 3 months and been wanting my hair cut, now I found an easier way thank you

sweetnesslove: I've got very thick, wavy hair. This technique worked like a charm. My hair looks incredible and I saved over $100. I bought a $30 pair of hair cutting shears on Amazon and used a comb I had at home. Thank you so much!

Surabhi Grover: Turned out so beautiful! This was the first time I ever cut my own hair, it was so easy to follow and turned out just gorgeous.

Fox Bear: A warning to people with super thick hair: use small sections when doing this. If you take too much hair it can be a bit chunky and doesn't cut as smoothly. Also prepare for this to take 1-2 hours and for your arms to hurt a lot after awhile ☺️

Anna: Omg I just found your page out of nowhere and saw this video! Tried it and I have to say this is the easiest and best haircut I've ever had! I didn't know I was capable to cut my own hair before. Thank you so much this is life changing

Elizabeth Crawford: Thanks so much for creating this video! My husband and I followed it and gave me my first haircut since before covid (and it looks great). I feel so much better. Your calm and clear directions were easy to follow. Thank you!

Jush Patel: Cut my hair for the first time ever today! Thank you for showing us your process- it was so easy and stress-free :)

M: Thank you so much for this tutorial! You have done an excellent job teaching and demonstrating how to cut your hair. You have given a wonderful walk through and thorough explanations. I have been using this video for 2 years now as a reference when cutting my own hair and I always love the results. Thank you!!

Suheily Perez: I have been searching high and low for this kind of tutorial! I absolutely loved the results and I've never cut my own hair. This was so simple to follow.

Bere P: 8 months without cutting my hair and today I finally did it! I followed your instructions and it turns out really pretty. My hair is naturally curly and the long layers were perfect. Thank you!!

Cara B: After some pretty traumatising hairdresser experiences i'd wanted to cut my own hair for ages. Now with Covid I decided to take the plunge! I just used this tutorial to cut my hair and I love it! I just did the first layering technique (bringing it to the front) all over my long hair and then the front of the temple layering and the result was subtle layers with lots of texture and volume! It's exactly how I wanted it!

Jennifer Miller: Oh My gosh! Thank you so much for posting this! This turned out amazing! I actually had my sister cut my hair and we did this video step by step... well except the last part with the framing, it just looked to great it wasn't needed! You made this so easy! Thank you! Thank you!

Allie Griffin: I come back to this video about once every 9 months and I’ve done it for at least 3 years...never fails

Maria Vittar: Thank you so much for the tutorial. After months deciding whether to try cutting my hair at home, I finally did it today using your tutorial and I am really happy with the result! Thank you

Kim H: I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to say, “Thank you!” for posting this! During this pandemic I’ve resorted to cutting my entire family’s hair... but my own hasn’t been cut since January. After watching this, I was determined I could do it. I just cut my hair following your tutorial and it turned out great! I was nervous because I don’t have nearly as much length as you, but I figured it would still work because when I pulled the bottom towards the front of my face I could easily see to make the cuts. This was the best!!! Thank you!

MelodicMuse: Just cut my hair using this tutorial! Been wanting to do it for a while! This was great! I went over it twice to get the length I wanted and cut all the dead growth off. My hair looks amazing! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

W P: Best haircut I've had in years! Thanks so much for this tutorial!!! Seriously, cutting my own hair, even with my short arms, turned out better than the last 5 $160++ haircuts I've had

AngelaBieda: I am also a licensed hairstylist. I have been cutting hair on and off for over 25 years. I absolutely HATE getting my own hair cut. I have hair cut anxiety. Trust me not every hairstylist knows what they are doing especially with long hair. Every time I get a haircut I spend a week or so obsessively comparing one side to the other and the layers NEVER match up. I rarely get my hair cut because for some reason no one can get it right. No one. This tutorial works! Thanks to this video, I have given myself the best haircut I have ever gotten!!! I cut off about 5 inches of hair all over. It turned out perfectly. I also used this as a guide to cut my teenage daughters long hair into perfect layers. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Am Rose: I tried cutting my hair at the beginning of this year using instructions from another youtube video. It was very technical. I found myself being exhausted and confused and very tired about halfway through the cut. And after it was all said and done, it was still crooked. Not horribly crooked.. but I was unsatisfied. I was terrified to try another tutorial video but let me tell you... this was the easiest thing I've ever done! Your instructions were so simple and easy to follow. This is by far the best haircut I've ever gotten. I am so happy with this and I intend to continue using this every time I need a haircut. Thank you so much!

Maressa Fonseca e Souza: 2021 here, and it is the best hair cut ever! :) I’ve done for 3 times, aways improving it and I simply love it more every time ❤️

tracyb433: Just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful helpful tutorial. I have used your video twice to cut my hair, and absolutely love the results. Though my hair isn't as thick and luxurious as yours, it still came out perfect. Much better than the last few hack jobs I have paid a hairdresser for. The layering is exactly what I want and can rarely achieve at the hairdresser, with the look of razor cutting. Thank you!

Lauren Woods: 2 years ago I watched this video and have been growing my hair since. It is long enough to do this cut now and I can't thank you enough for showing a beautiful, simple, timeless cut that I see myself doing for years to come.

Miranda Gonzo: After months of considering cutting my hair, and watching this video like 100 times I finally did it. I will not be going back to the hairdresser. It wasn't THE BEST haircut I've ever received, but with some practice I think it will get there. It was pretty good, and I was impressed. Everything came out even, and it looked good. My biggest issues were cutting with my left hand and deciding what angle to pull the hair from my head. 2 more times and I think I will be a pro. Thank you for posting this.

Quinny & Co.: Did this today and it turned out beautifully! Thank you so much <3

Maggie D.: I just tried it, and it turned out great! I have straight medium long hair and I was worried that it wasn't gonna look as well as it does on wavy hair but I've gotta say it turned out amazing! Thank you, Sadia!

S.D77: Thank you so much, this really helped. I just cut my hair using this tutorial and it looks decent :) it was a bit sloppy being the first time I did it but it looks much better than it did before. I am excited and will use this again in the future!

Mareike Niemann: The best layered hair cut tutorial ever! Did this in the middle of the night and was blown away in the morning. Got me closer to the haircut I wanted for a while than any description I gave my hairdresser Takes a tiny bit of patience if your hair is super long and some courage to cut the shortest layer, but it's worth it

SDC: I'm 68 and have always cut my own hair. My hair is long and all silver and now I have your haircut. Always nice to know a new way to cut hair. Thank you, I'm thrilled with my new cut.

Clohan Mom: After watching the video several times, I gave it a go and my hair turned out so good :) I'm sure I made a bunch of mistakes as it was my first time cutting my own hair. Thank you Pick Up Limes for giving me the freedom of not having to depend on anyone to get my haircut and save some cash as well :)

Renuka Devi: My brother and I cut our Jie using your method and we’re soooo happy with it! Thanks Sadia for the hack!! It’s a lifesaver during this pandemic where we’re all in lockdown and no salons are open. Thank you!!

Stephanie Albanese: I've had this video saved in my likes for a year and finally decided to take the plunge and give it a try! For it being my very first time cutting my hair this video was the most helpful and informative video ever!! I love love LOVE how my hair turned out! I will definitely be cutting it like this for a very long time!

Milisa Robles: Just cut my own hair! It took me about 1-2 hours.. but OMG it's exactly what I wanted it to be. This woman is a genius. I hesitated at first but after that first cut I was in the zone lol. Split ends are all gone! I have bouncy curls and im so happy. Kept my length too!

Ankita Kaye: One thing I’ve noticed is youre great at speaking and presenting. Usually Youtubers heavily edit videos and put pieces together. Really impressed by the amazing job you do

BethPoet: Thank you so much! Followed this video today, and am so pleased with the results! Also took me about 2 hours (hair kept drying too fast - didn't have a spray bottle - highly recommend). My hair is naturally wavy, and was super long (so heavy). I am happy with the amount I took off, but had I just wanted a "trim" I probably would have felt I made it too short. So yes, be very careful as to how much you cut off, you can always do it again if needed. Set aside a good chunk of time, be patient and persevere and you'll be very happy with the results!

Christina Evangelina Perez: the amount of trust issues I have that I can’t even trust myself to cut my own damn hair....

Vanessa Jones: Thanks so much! I’ve been cutting hair for years and trimming my bangs since the pandemic but just hadn’t loved any of my attempts on the rest of my hair since my hair is so long. This worked great! My hair feels so happy and looks fabulous!

Pet Peeves Training: THIS IS SO HELPFUL! Thank you!!!! I was hoping you'd show us how you style it too (because, let's face it - your hair is PERFECT), but I'm also beyond grateful for what you did cover in the video.

MsFabliaux: I tried it yesterday evening and it worked like a charm! Took me about 20 minutes and more courage than I anticipated at first, but totally worth it. I can't stop flipping my hair today.

Teena Badshah: Thanks to this video I was able to cut my hair after being in a lockdown for 4 months and I am quite happy with the result. The steps are very similar to what my stylist does and that's why I was confident of trying it.

S Gulnaz: Wowww. I tried this cut on my daughter's hair first, it came out wonderful, then I tried on my neice who had really thick hair. By sectioning and cutting, the result was amazing. Thank you so much.. It's such an easy and beautiful way of cutting.

crazyju02: I'm so very pleased with how my haircut turned out. Thanks so much for making this video. My hair feels so healthy and looks great if I say so myself

unruellie: Thanks so much for this tutorial!!! I just did it (even though I watched it 4 months ago at the beginning of quarantine lol) and I’m happy with the results. I’ve had three disappointing haircuts prior to this so I figured, no harm no foul. I think I messed up slightly somewhere but the fact that I have curly hair makes it a little more forgiving. I’m going to keep doing it though and get better and better as time goes on:) I’m really happy I found this video.

Debra Frazier: I've cut my own hair most of my life and watched a lot of YouTube videos on the subject, I must say, this is the very best video I've ever seen on how to cut your own hair! You made this so simple and easily understood. Thank you for sharing! I usually do mine a bit differently, but your way makes much more sense to me.

Vickie Thornsberry: This was awesome! I’ve been cutting my own hair for about 10-12 years getting a professional cut about every 2 years. This was a great method. It’s the cut I always do, but there’s more of a method to it. And I achieved the look I strive for on the sides around my face so much better thank you for this! When you straightened yours to show the length I thought I wish my hair was that long. When I started cutting I realized mine was prolly like an inch shorter. The hair skin and nails vitamins I’m taking are working! Thanks again.

Dani Wrenn: Cut my own hair for the first time and SO happy with it! So glad I found this tutorial. Thank you thank you for making it

Susanne Wedel: This is an amazing video! I have cut my own hair from time to time, usually only to straighten things out after just being to the hair salon, and the stylists can’t seem to get both sides the same length. Not to mention, I was never happy with the style. I finally found an amazing hairdresser that I trusted and didn’t have to do that anymore. The thing with that is, it’s expensive. No less than $50 dollars every time. Needless to say, I’ve neglected getting my hair cut, I just didn’t want to pay that kind of money. This is exactly the cut I always want when I need to get my hair cut. It’s perfect! It’s easy and feels so good. I will never go to a salon again. Thank you so much for this video! ❤️

Debbie Rigby: Thank you for this! All the hair salons are closed, but my hair was just too long and heavy. It went almost to my butt and I was done! I chopped the shortest to my chin and the longest to just below my armpits. About 8-10 inches. It turned out great! Took about 30 minutes and was fairly easy! Thank you!

Dulce Mattos: I want to congratulate you for the intro on this video, it's inspiring to see communicators committed to their responsibility and who dare to say "if this idea makes you nervous or doesn't suit you, feel free to disregard this video all the way". I know, having millions of subs may make it "easier" for you to say something like this, but still: it is encouraging. I hope all content creators were this conscious of their task (to help instead of confusing people just for personal profit) and reach (millions of people).

Cindy George: Excellent video!!!Makes me feel very comfortable about cutting my own hair.My old hair stylist recommended using heat protector when using flat iron and curling iron.I noticed using that has helped me with not losing as much hair and looks healthier. Also dry shampoo helped with not having to wash as frequently-wanted to share that if it can be helpful to anyone.

C D: Update: I watched this ten times yesterday and then I gave it a go at midnight. Had somewhat of a panic attack. Settled for the ponytail method. I’m satisfied with the results. I must say I did enjoy this video and this method has a lot of potential - I just couldn’t. Good luck!

Letisia Cherian: Hey Sadia, I've been following your channel closely for the past year or so - This DIY haircut really helped me during this Covid lockdown :) I usually keep a layered cut and I couldn't get any hairdressers to do it for me this time and now going ahead I will be saving heaps doing it myself. :) Thanks for sharing this. xx

Missy Battishill: Thank you for sharing this! I just wanted to say that I used your video to teach myself to cut my hair last year when the pandemic started and I was both nervous to go to a salon and did not have the extra money. I've kept doing it myself now simply because I like it and it saves me time & money. So, thank you!! This video is so easy to follow and so helpful.

Una delicia de pastel: wow! I used this tutorial to cut my hair myself for the first time and I am extremely happy with the results! thank you so so much!!

LaurieZ1969: I have to tell you how much you changed my life. I haven't had a haircut for four years. I've been trying to take care of it to get it healthy, but I got diagnosed with Lupus and went from thick and healthy to thin, stringy, dry and broken split ends. So I started following how to not brush your hair when its dry, following curly hair recommendations. I still don't know if it needs protein or what, but I am going my best. I've watched so many videos and something about yours just gave me the right inspiration to go for it. So over 4 inches or more I am in love with my hair again. My curls are beautiful, and my hair is so soft. I can't thank you enough. My Facebook group for curly hair gave me over a 100 ❤s and about 75 great wonderful comments and everyone wanted to know whose video I used, so I linked your video and gave you all the props. I hope I can show you the before and after pictures. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and for helping me find my self confidence again. It won't let me show you a picture but if you want to see you can message me on Facebook. Thank you again.

sparklingsnow: I've been following this tutorials for years and every time I'm so happy with the result! Thank you so much!!! :D
