Welcome or welcome back to my channel today we will be cutting a classic mid-length square layered haircut. We start with zoning the haircut our first section is a center part. We place our comb on top of the head where the head curves is called the apex. We section from the apex to behind the ear, make sure you're working with neat clean sections. We now start the haircut in the back section with a center parting. We take our section, no larger than a finger width. We direct every section, 90 degrees straight out from the head. This will result with a flat square layered section. This section will run from the top of the crown to the bottom of the nape. This first section is our guide stay tuned to see this haircut styled with flat iron curls, the shoveled beach waves and a classic bouncy blow dryer. We now take section two: we direct our guide to section two. We cut this section straight out 90 degrees from the base, i'm using my comb to help guide my cutting angle and elevation, keeping both at 90 degrees. We now remove section 1 and section 2 becomes our guide for section 3.. We continue this process until we reach the curve of the head once we reach this point, we direct every future section back to the curve section. This helps to maintain the square corners in the haircut. We continue this process until we reach the curve of the head. Now we have reached the curve of the head, we direct every future section back to this point. We continue to take sections until we complete this zone. Directing these sections back to the curve of the head create square corners in the haircut. We now repeat this process on the opposite side: section number one becomes our guide for section two. We can use our comb to help maintain our 90 degrees elevation square layers maintain length at the top and bottom of the section, whilst reducing length in the center of the section square layers also maintain length in the front and back corners of the haircut use. Your comb to find the curve in the head. Now we have reached the curve of the head. We direct all new sections back to this point. This process creates corners in the shape, creating a square layer shape. We now cross check taking horizontal sections and directing each section straight out at 90 degrees. Once we finish this section, we move to the top section. Maintaining even hydration and tension will help maintain an even shape. We direct every section straight up at 90 degrees. We cut a square line at 90 degrees connecting the crown to the fringe zone. We start with taking a vertical section. We take our guide from the top of the crown section. We now cut our guide for the top section. We cut a straight line at 90 degrees, elevating your arms to mirror. Your section will help you to maintain an even cut line. We now comb our guide into the section taking horizontal sections. We direct the sections straight up and cut at 90 degrees. This section becomes section number one: we now take section 2, directing the section straight up, cutting at 90 degrees, making sure our section is in line with our guide. We continue this process until we run out of hair once we reach the front fringe section. We include this section with the top section. This will create subtle, face framing or you can choose to cut a fringe. This haircut looks great with a solid fringe, soft layered, fringe curtain fringe or a side sweepy fringe. We continue this process on the opposite side. If you have problems cutting holes or gaps in the side, sections of your haircut, we can cut a guide in the outline. We simply cut a square line from the back to the front. We now have two guides repeat the same process as the opposite side. This is a classic medium to long square layered haircut. This haircut is an amazing, versatile haircut for all age groups. It looks amazing straight with beach waves and flat iron curls.
