How To Style Short Hair | Styling A Grown Out Pixie Cut

Well I have to say I was blown away by how many of you were interested in my video on growing out your pixie cut, and I mentioned in that how styling your hair to hide awkward layers is a massive help. So here's a follow up explaining how to style short hair into a messy bob, which nicely hides any hair layer sins that might have occurred either from growing out a pixie cut, getting a little too scissor-happy after looking through the short hair hashtag on instagram, or after an unfortunate trip to the hairdresser.

Enjoy!

Hello, everyone so before we get into this video, I just wanted to say a quick apology that this video it's coming out a day late. I know I said a stick to a schedule of videos every Sunday and today is technically Monday yeah. I was just really tired yesterday out of a very very long week at work, and it did not happen so I'm gon na see now it's uploading now. I hope you enjoyed the video guys sinb it hello. Everyone welcome to my floor. Once again, I could have filmed this sitting on a desk also my fan speed, but there's a plug here and the Lighting's all right here, so we're gon na sit on the floor again today. Basically, a few weeks ago, I uploaded a video on how I go out my pixie cart or tips and tricks on how to do it, like I said very simply, my hair just kind of grew itself, but there were a whole load of tips and tricks in That, and one of the things I talked about, was learning to style your hair in a way that heist is awkward layers and makes it a lot easier for you to grow it out, especially when it hits awkwardly so my hair. At the moment it has grown out, it's definitely grown out, pixie cut, they were at 4 blend, but when it's fully washed, which you will see in a second it's such an awkward length, I'm still not particularly a fan. I need it a little bit longer. For me to really enjoy having my natural straight hair, because it's very straight and it kind of looks very a cross between Edna mode and Leonardo DiCaprio in the 90s, is like what I like to say about my hair. So this is a hairstyle that I do constantly just to kind of keep it going, and it's a very messy bedhead look very easy to do. Anyone can literally do this if you have a bunch of straighteners or if you just want to go pick up a pair from tesco about 20 pounds. You'Ll be set to go and yeah very versatile lasts a long time I enjoy it, and I thought you guys might want to see they're seeing us, though so much interest in the last video. So I thought I'd show you how I style my hair. So you guys can kind of take this on board in case you're a little bit stuck with styling your hair, okay. So, in a bit of a rock with your hair or just if you're bored and you see watching my videos yeah, I am, I hope, I'm entertaining you here - we are so I've just gotten out the shower. As you can see, this is my natural hair. It'S dead straight and I don't know I just want something slightly different going on with it. I like a little bit of texture. I like a lot of volume, so first up always spray your hair with heat protection spray, I'm using early Stafford one. It was very, very cheap, I think I got it was three pounds and Superdrug, and if heat protection spray is that cheap, there is no excuse not to use it, especially if you're growing out your hair because it was damaged from bleaching or dyeing. Your hair, like mine, was please please use protection spray when you are styling your hair, just because it's gon na save you so many painful months of re growing it right. So my hair - I have quite loss of it, so it's very fine hair, but there's just so much on my head, so I always have to split my hair into two or three parts. I have my straightness and I'm gon na be coming with my straightener. I don't actually use curling tongs, I always new straighteners. I think they just work better. The curls stay a little bit longer as well. I'M not a total wipe. Just always bow on that. So what we're going to do is we're going to pick up a little section of hair, maybe about two inches wide I'd say something like that: we are just going to clump from the straighteners horizontals ahead, we're gon na curl the straightener up, pull it down, stop Gon na curl it the other way, pull it down, stop and then we're gon na curl in and stop again. So you get this kind of wave effect going on. Let me see you gon na show you again. So we take a section of hair about two to three inches wide. We clamp on, like so Riko in words, slowly cool down and there you go. You can see that really intense way. This is a really good way because it's going to make your hair look. Naturally, messy sweetheart, so in my face it's gon na make your hair look really, naturally, messy hides any sins if you're kind of having like a second or third day after washing it. This is also a really good look just because you can hide those greasy strands with either the curls. Also, this hairstyle stays really well. I find that it doesn't drop as easily as most hairstyles do with heat. I don't know if that's because my hair still really short was he shorter hair does hold heat Styles a little bit better, they're longer hair, because it has a little weight to keep it down but yeah. I just think this hairstyle is very, very easy, very versatile and gives you a hell of a lot volume as you're gon na see at the end. There we go so that's the whole, the bottom layer done and that literally took 30 minutes. So you can see it's very fast: it's because you can take much chunkier pieces with this hairstyle and they're still gon na curl, because rather than curling them inwards and you're gon na have hair kind of getting lost in that circular. Curl you're curling your almost crimping the hair, and it gives you a lot more scope to use more hair and curl it a lot faster rather than having to get all the individual strands going like that. Does that make up any sense right next layer top layer bring it down? Oh my god! So same again, now I'm gon na be picking one piece here. I kind of want these to bend a little bit towards my face, but I've teased it like that. So I'm literally creating a curl with my hand, can you see like that and I'm just going to clamp the straightener down on the curl? This is like a really easy way to do 1920s finger wave stars as well, just literally curl the hair and then clamp the straight on it, but what it does is it sets the hair with this sort of a curl. You see it's almost like a wave towards the head, so when you brush this all out, you're gon na have some nice shake going on in the face, rather than having air between going upwards and out, and then I'm literally gon na do the exact same thing. I did the dress of the hair, so what I like to do, after doing more of that, is just grab at some adoration to quickly spritz, the top of my hair, just kind of work it in this gives you that extra lift from the product, especially if You'Re on light hair - that's just been washed kind of want to do this, to give it a little bit more texture, a little bit more volume kind of working at that messiness, and I also like to go in with this now. This is some hair oil that my cousin bought me from the Czech Republic, so I'm not entirely short in it. I know it's very, very natural, that's basically, it's very, very good for your hair, especially if you've got previously bleached, hair and you're using heat on it. I really recommend just using a few little droplets kind of like by sea. Just rub some hair oil into your hands, then just run your fingers through your hair. All this is gon na do just for the ends. It'S gon na keep the nice and moisturized rejuvenate them a bit after using all that heat on there and also smooth any of those crazy flyaways, because, even though we want bed hair, we don't want real bed hair. We want the illusion of bed hair and yet that's kind of the base, and then from here you can walk it into whatever you want and some ways that I like to wear my hair. Once I've done it like this. Sometimes I will pull out a few little strands on the fun a couple little strands to frame the face. Stick like so. I think that looks super cute really girly very feminine, yet messy - and I just think that's a really really nice easy hairstyle for especially those days when you want to cover up maybe some oily hair with the hairband. This is the looks, go cool and if you want to do something a little bit funkier once again, I'll normally take two little strands from up my space get a couple of bobby pins and up here at the rest back and I love how with this one, You get all the volume from that messiness on the sides, but the neck top is still nice and smooth. It'S also so easy like who doesn't have four bobby pins lying around somewhere, like they are gon na, be somewhere in your house, and it's literally just a case of pinning them there and there to keep the hair at the top nicely. Slicked back keep a couple of little hair pieces around your face. Obviously, a half updo is gon na look great with this hairstyle, so we just shove it up like so: stick it into a messy little barn and pull a few bits out and because the hair is already this really messy volume, it's texture, you don't need to Worry about it being needs, you don't need to worry about it being particularly great. You can actually just shove it off in a tiny little bun and it's gon na look fairly good and fairly meant to be, even if it's not meant to look like that. So, ah, very easy, or if you want to take it up, knotch, invest in one of these little crocodile clips. I got this one from Primark. It'S a really nice metal one. I really like it because the plastic ones don't pop my hair and place that much you just scrape it all back and flip it in police and again, there's no really need to be that neat with this hair style, you just kind of shove it in place, Pull a few bits of hair out around your face to frame it lose the bottom of it, so you still get that really nice crimped texture and yeah they. I just think this is a really good hair style and also this course or curl generally will last you about two to three days, depending on how often you wash your hair, how long it is, how thick it is and how much you brush it as well. So it's a really good one to do at the start of the week and because you start off the week with this kind of messy undone look, even if it gets messy up and sleeping on air or you brush it, and it doesn't come out quite right. Just chop it up in something like this and it's still gon na look styled over together and yeah, that's kind of it, guys, literally how I style my hair. I don't really hope this has helped you if you're going up pixie cut. I feel your pain, and this is a very good hairstyle to kind of hide those awkward layers within it. It'S a really good hairstyle if you just are low maintenance in your hair and you don t bother to color every morning, but you really want something that will work for the rest of the week. This is it you've got so many different ways of styling. It there's hundreds more ways you could braid it. You could stick it up in a ponytail if your hair's long enough. Thank you so much for watching guys. I really appreciate it make sure to LIKE and subscribe. If you did enjoyed this video, I put up new videos every Sunday, so I will see you next Sunday bye, guys

Katie Price: I love this! I’m growing out my hair and I’ve been struggling to find hair styles that I like with this length

Agnes Eva: *Wow... all the styles look great :) I have no idea what to do with my hair. I grew out a short bob and I'm in the process now of growing out the short bangs, you can see my hair journey in my videos. And now I try to manage the growing out bangs and always put all the length in a bun since I have so much hair and am a total failure when it comes to styling it. I got some comments from subscribers that my hair looks ugly, that I look like a witch, when I wore it down, before the bob cut. So, only a bun now and that's it. Until my hair is down to my waist and just hangs down in the back. Then I don't really need to style it much. I had it waist long several times. I always grow it out to waist and then get enough of it and chop it to a bob and grow again. LOL. You look great with your bob :) Hugs from Agnes from Germany :)*

Margherita Paolini: You look so good with the straight hair too
