Beach waves are the perfect summer hairstyle, and you don't have to spend the day at the beach to get them. Birchbox Staffer Megan has a love/hate relationship with her short hair, but this tousled hairstyle makes her feel summery and chic any day of the week. Using a Sedu Clipless Iron and two great Birchbox hair products, Megan shows us how to get the perfect wavy 'do for both short and long hair.

Hi, I'm Megan for Birchbox and I'm going to show you how to get beach waves for short hair. Now, if you're anything like me, I have a love-hate relationship with my short hair. Sometimes I feel chic, and sometimes I feel like I have a helmet on this - is a great look to remind me why I cut my hair in the first place and it's a great easy to do summer. Look now remember these tricks are for long hair too. So anyone can get this look start by separating hair into sections. This thermal styling spray from number four hydrates and heals damaged, hair and prevents new damage with protective resins. Basically, it makes my hair shiny and healthy looking spray, the entire bottom section to protect it from heat, to give your hair more volume lightly. Curl the bottom section all around, since my bottom layer is very short. I focus on curling the ends so that they don't look straight when all of my hair is down time out. So before we go any further, I want to share with you a quick trick before we continue curling. So what you want to do is alternate between the way you hold the wand. If you hold it vertical, it's going to give you longer, but thinner waves, make you hold it horizontal, it's going to give you thicker, but more bouncy waves. The reason we want this is because we want this look to be a bit more messy and not so polished all right back to curling, I'm using Sadie's clipless iron, which is perfect for getting that ever list. Beachy effect for your first pearl hold the curling iron vertically and wrap the hair in front of the curling iron away from your face for the second piece of hair, pull the curling iron horizontally and wrap the hair around it wrap the third piece of hair behind The curling iron, with the iron held vertically now follow the sequence all the way around your head. Once you finish the middle section, let down the top of the hair, leaving any face grooming pieces up and continue curling in the same way, alternating each curl. For your face, framing hair, take smaller pieces and alternate the direction of the curl finally, spray, your hair with a sea salt spray and lightly scrunch to add texture to the style. Neil Dixon: Lisa cavewoman.... I make my own sea salt spray by mixing hot water and sea salt in an empty spray bottle, let it cool and voila! Works beautifully without the nasty chemicals (cheap too)
