HI! Welcome or welcome back to my channel. In this video, I'm showing how I installed small box braids on my TWA/ super short natural hair. I'm finally growing my hair out from consistently buzz-cutting since last Winter..

I managed to get this style done over the course of a few days. These kinds of styles normally take many, many hours (6+) and I was definitely not able to sit that long and accomplish it in 1-2 days. (#MomOf3)

I used pre-stretched 2b and blonde Expressions braiding hair. Using the pre-stretched braiding hair saves about an hour or so of feathering the tips. I will mention too that I soaked the braiding hair in apple cider vinegar, mild cleanser, and water the day before as I always have a sort of allergic reaction when I install the braids.

Although it felt very strange to me to be braiding my hair again after having my hair buzzed for almost a year, the familiarity came back by the time I completed half of my hair and I'm very happy with the hard work I put in.

What protective style should I try next? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for watching!

Hey i'm adriana, welcome or welcome back to my channel, i hope you're doing well in this video, i'm going to show you how i installed these braids on my super short hair. My twa now, the last time i buzzed my hair, was back in may so i've got about three months of growth. I will mention two that i've noticed my hair growth is not even overall, my nape is the shortest, and the front perimeter is not as long as the top and middle. I definitely had not been protecting my hair in the night and that's a contributing factor to the stunted growth. Unfortunately, my pillowcase has been drying my hair out, so here we are now at the front of my head. I didn't record me braiding the other side in the back, because i was braiding during the day the kids were. I'Ve got three kids they're running around doing what kids do best. It would have been too difficult to record with them jumping around and yeah. This is the front like i said it's, not the shortest, but it's definitely shorter than the middle of my head. I split the part into two and i use the beeswax to elongate my hair and keep it as smooth as possible, and then i just start braiding with the extensions and you'll see each time i cross over the strands. I pull my hair um. I pull my hair because i want to get it as flat as possible, get it as taut as possible. Um make sure that the extension the added on hair is staying as close to my scalp as possible. So each time i cross over, i just give my hair a little like tug, keep it smooth and i do braid pretty slowly at the beginning, so that i'm keeping everything firm and in place and tight. I guess you could say by the time i got to this side of my head: it, the feeling of braiding and that um familiarity finally came back to me. I mean my hair had been buzz, cut short since last october and yeah. It felt so foreign at the beginning of braiding um to be doing this at all, and if that feeling hadn't come back to me, i really don't think i would have gotten through braiding. My entire head and putting in all that work in all those hours, i probably would have cancelled it all and took out what i was doing and just stuck with my hair. The way it was but hard work definitely pays off and i'm really excited about my braids again. As you can see, i could not find my rat tail comb and i had to use this little hair clip to part the front of my head. I was only concerned about the neatness and the straight lines at the front at the back you'll see later on that it's definitely not parted evenly, but the size of the braids are all the same. So that's all that matters here we are now in the final stretch of braiding, the top of my head got two left. I forgot my little buddy by my side. My two-year-old came to hang out with me, borrow my computer and watch his show. While i was braiding by this point, i was so over sitting on the floor having to look in the mirror to braid the top, but, like i said it was all worth it, it was actually pretty smooth sailing um. Once i got to the top, because i was back in the res - the rhythm of things and like i mentioned before each time i crossed over a strand, i would just give my hair a little tug, making sure everything was laying flat and that the braid was All smooth and as close to the scalp as possible, and sometimes too when you are braiding and you put in like a gel or butter or anything like that, the extension part or the braiding extensions will slip down the braid. So, that's why it's so important to you know, give your hair a little tug and make sure everything is where it's supposed to be not sliding down. As you can see, my baby's so content in his little shirt, cocoon singing and watching a show. It'S good company. Now, for the easy work which is braiding, the ends a lot easier than sitting in front of the mirror, making sure all the parts are straight and all the end, braiding that i did was done at night, took me about two hours or so and then, like An hour the next day to just blaze through braiding the ends. These tangles are the worst, but luckily you could just break them off, and you know it's not that bad, but yeah, i'm so happy that i was able to braid my hair again. I had been in that middle point of wanting to buzz my hair off again, but knowing i wanted to grow it out, so i'm glad my hair was long enough to even be able to braid to be able to catch it and um install these braids. If you have any suggestions on a hairstyle, i can do it again in a couple months like butterfly locks or anything like that, leave it below i'd love to try something new. My go-to is always always small box braids, but i'd like to mix that up and do something outside of my comfort zone. I guess i've done the buzz cut. So you know what is next, outside of my comfort zone, leave your suggestions below we were in the hair store. My daughter wanted me to buy the blue and the green expressions pack and braid my hair at that instead, but i think i'm good with the uh. The tubie and whatever, whatever code this uh blonde, is so here we are now, i'm all done. I braided till the end. I soaked it in boiling hot water trim them love them, so much definitely worth all those hours i put into it so how'd. I do, let me know in the comments below until next time, bye
