Hey guys, what's up welcome back to my channel, this is london tay coming to you today with another video, and today's video is a good one. It'S a video on how to do knotless, braids on a very, very, very short, natural hair. Okay. So if you guys are interested in seeing how i did this then continue watching so just a slight back story of her hair. She is scoring her hair out from a super short pixie cut. She does have slightly relaxed ends, but, as you can see, her hair is super short, so there is not very much relaxed ends if her whole hair was relaxed and was super short, i probably couldn't grip it and if i could, the ends would be so blood And it would stick out from the braid, so really would not work. So yes, so she has a little bit of um. She has a little bit of relaxants on her head still now. Her hair is super super compacted. If you do stretch her hair out a little bit, it does go about three three and a half inches, almost four inches of hair, okay, so yeah. So that's just going to give you guys a reference now. The product i use, of course, is the shine and gem. I use that product on all my braiding styles. So as far as putting product on my hair to moisturize before the braids, i did not put anything there that i would feel like would be causing a lot of slippage, like i usually do with any other clients with longer hair, because, like i stated, i didn't Want it to be too greasy and hard for me to grip, okay, so um yeah, so i use the shine and jam and the shine and jam that i always use is the one in the orange top the other one. I'Ve never used it before. If you guys have any type of review with that, let me know i i think i may try it on my myself instead of trying on the client and see if i like it better or the same or worse i'll, let you guys know since i always Use the same products over and over okay, but as far as the knotless braids, like i said, i am left-handed, so i like to add in hair from the left-hand side, that's just easier for me. Also it's easier for me to put my table to the left. So that way, i can just grab and braid and grab and braid and grab and braid in for the braids. So to me this is what i consider small okay. This is what i consider small knotless braids. Everybody have their own kind of reference on how you know what size everything will be for their clients. The client who i did before this client was medium, so this is what i consider small lower back, okay, um, so tips. I can give you guys for gripping. Shorter hair is um okay, so whenever you are adding hair in make sure that you are still maintaining a tight grip on the hair. Now i do not braid tight. Everybody knows i do not braid tight. All my clients know that, however, i do braids secure, and so when i am beginning my knotless braids, i don't go especially with someone's short hair. Whenever i start off the braid, i start immediately adding hair in through the left hand, side. I don't wait and just wait to add hair. I think back in the day when i did knotless braids and i was beginning, i would like go six and seven turns before i would add hair in but yeah. No. I actually prefer the look of the knotless braids starting at the root just without the knot. Okay, i feel like it just makes it look a little bit more fuller and it makes it look better in my opinion, so yeah so um, there isn't really a rule. How many pieces you are adding to the braid to make everything? Even i just keep adding pieces until i get to the desired size that i want for that braid size in particular. Okay, it's going to be bigger or smaller, depending on how long and how thick the client's hair is. Her hair is kind of thick and it's short, so i probably add more hair to um more hair to the braid. Now, of course, it's going to be thicker at the top than at the bottom, because her hair is feeding in at the top than the bottom, because it's short so yeah and also to help blend that hair in, as you guys can see when before i started The braid i used the shine and jam to kind of comb throughout the entire hair section of hair, because that made it easier to blend in with the rest of the braiding hair and allow it to stick to the braiding hair and help me tuck. The hair. Better so that way, we don't have a lot of hair sticking out at the ends, because i told you guys she does have relaxed ends. So it's way easier for a relaxed end to kind of start sticking out, especially blunt cut ends. Oh yeah. Definitely especially when you know the client already had their hair cut or previous that they previously had their hair cut, and they have those blunt ends. It is way way way easier to just blend in when you have product all throughout the hair and also when you have enough product kind of smooth throughout the hair. It makes everything look more neat um in my opinion, and it's just yeah. It just makes it look more neat, so yeah that is like a major tip, um and one thing you guys i'm about to replay it so whenever i'm starting off with the braid in order to maintain a tight grip, whenever i start going through the braid before I add the hair in at the beginning i'll then pull the ends of the client's hair just to get a tighter grip. So that way it's not slipping and sliding everywhere before i start adding hair in and i'm about to replay that right here. So you see when i pull the hair ends right there, i'm starting off the knotless braid and to grip i'm pulling the ends right there. That is a very, very, very important key, because that gives me that good enough grip to where i feel secure to start adding, hair in - and i know that it's not about to slip - it's not about to slide around. That is a really really key tip that you guys should implement if it seems like you know, when you're starting off um any type of braids and you feel like you, don't have a tight grip. I like to just pull the ends, to be sure and be clear and be secure and then i'll continue, adding the hair. So everything else after that is basically self-explanatory. The longer the length, the more hair i'll add getting towards the middle of the braid or the end of the braid, then i'll start adding little pieces of hair just to get more length. But she has lower back length the inches that i'm using is 50 inch. Hair when it comes to the braiding hair, so i don't really have to add much hair. You know to it to make it long the way i want it, because the inches that i'm using is already long but yeah so yeah guys. So that's basically it everything else. You know you can just watch and see and learn and yeah like with all my clients, i'll dip the ends and i'll put mousse on the you know, the top just to kind of set everything use edge, control all that good stuff, um, the same type of Method i use in the older video the one i post right before this okay, so i hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial.
