#phifshorthair Cetera got a new short haircut--and we are loving it! She has had a ton of fun learning and trying out new short hairstyles that are quick and easy to do--especially in preparing for going back to school! She shares one of her new favorite hairstyles, flat iron curls. On her short locks, it takes all of 5 minutes. If you have short hair too-- give this cute little hairdo a try, throwing in her cute front twist back to keep the hair out of your face is brilliant too.

We think you'll love it!

For this hairstyle you will need:

5-7 minutes

a flat iron

heat protectant spray

a bobby pin (or two)

Difficulty level: Medium (once you get those flat iron curls down--it will be an EASY for you. Practice practice!)

My girls actually started back to school TODAY! (Undecided on how I feel about that--I will tell you this afternoon after some really nice hours of peace and quiet).

We have been playing with some easy hairstyles not only for short hair, but mostly ones the girls can do on themselves or on each other. Learning to do your own hair really boosts confidence in girls, and supports their independence. It also helps out Mom a ton! ;) I love watching them figure things out and help each other. It's a necessary life skill-- as much as learning to cook, do laundry, and how to work hard. I love when they master something new. They feel great and so do I!

Keep watching for more fun and simple back to school hairstyles to come! xoxo

Hey guys, it's the Tara from pretty hair is fun and if you haven't noticed, I cut off a ton of hair because I wanted to change. I wanted to make new for school, but my new challenge is, I can't do any of my old go to higher styles, with my longer hair, like my ponytail bun, or just braiding it back so today I'm going to be showing you one of my favorite hairstyles That I've been doing lately and that is Flatiron curls and I'm going to show you how to get on my length of hair, and so let's get started so to begin. I round brush my hair for a little bit of volume, as you can tell it's a little bit more poofy than it usually with me, and then I also spread it with heat protectant to just get ready to start my fire. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to take this top section with hair, since it's not really long enough, I can't really twist it so I'm just gon na like get my best to get the simple clip. I'M just going to take my comb and make sure I got everything else moves down, so I can start with my butter. So now I'm going to take my flat iron just grab a small section of hair. I might twisted around twice and then pull it straight out, and then I can use my hands to fix the curl. If I need to and then I'm just going to go all the way around my head, curling away from my face. These curls won't be super. Like ringlet, like I guess, because so short I'm just going to start on this section, I can work on the back and a little in just a second. So I'm going to curl away from my face. Okay! So now, in the back, I'm not really going to curl them, I'm more just gon na kind of curl them underneath just to give it a little bit more body a little more volume, because I just a blended it with the other curls, because it's so short, They won't really take the curl okay. So now I'm just going to do the same thing with this section, curling away from my face and helping the curls as needed. You so, and usually at this point I will take my mirror and look at the back of my head to make sure that I have all of my hair curled in some way or another. So now is where I decide what I'm going to do with the front either I leave it down and just tuck it behind my ear or if I want to add in my face a little bit more. I take a small section right here and I twist it back and I grab a section right here and lift it up away from my head, because I'm going to going to bobby pin this underneath that section pull this back and then I'm just going to take A bobby pin I'm just going to shove it up and into this twist or just do a bobby, pin roll and then I'm going to let this section fall on top of it and I'll keep that will keep that front section away from my face.
