Hey guys welcome back to how to be fancy. I'M Heather and today I'm going to be taking my hair down and we are going to be talking about one of my very favorite ways to heat set, my hair and that will be using a flatiron. I talked about this flat iron in my tools, video. You can go back and watch that, but this is the style craft, medium, hair iron and I loved it so much they kindly sent it over for me and I have used it quite often since I came before we get started going in with the heat spray. Again, we've discussed this. I'M apparently super lazy because still haven't decanted this every time. I remember to do it. I have already used it, and so then I forget again, which is the story of my life. I'M just brushing that through my hair and again make sure that you let that heat protectant or whatever heat protectant that you use on your hair dry completely before you use any kind of hot tool on it. So I think today, I'll show you a little bit of a different curling pattern to what I normally do just to keep things interesting. So I'm going to section off kind of like a little square on the top of my head like so so I'm gon na take this kind of middle bang, section area and again I don't have my mirror right in front of me. So good thinking, good thinking ahead anyway, so I'm going to take this little section, and this is what I'm going to start with, so I'm actually going to take the hair behind it, pull that back and out of the way just use a scrunchie or whatever you Have on hand to tie that back and then we'll start working with this section here. What I'm going to do with this section is just take it and I'm gon na split it into two sections like so and then starting, I like to start at the back. You can start at the front or the back. It really doesn't matter just whatever your preference is, I'm going to grab a little section like this, give it a little brush through and then taking the flat iron. I'M going to do it very much like a curl. So I want this hair to be flat, as I start running it through the flat iron and I always hold on to the little ends here. So they don't go crazy. Then I'm going to clamp the flat iron and, as I'm clamping, I'm just slightly pulling this little tail through and I'm just gon na pull that all the way through twisting the flat iron. As I run it through and that's going to create a little curl. And then I'm just gon na take that little curl and roll it all the way down to the base of my head. I really hope you can see what I'm doing take my little duckbill clip and clip that into place. So, if you're a person who has a really hard time getting volume into your hair, this might be something that you want to try on the top of your head and just to see. If you get a little extra lift, I can't see what I'm doing so again running the flight flatiron from the root just about the middle of the shaft holding on to the tail twisting it, and then I twist it around it's. Okay, if it opens up, then clamp it down again, just kind of gently and slide the hair through twisting again sliding through hanging onto that tail, and then I have to hold the little end. So I can reposition my hand and then we're just gon na pull that little end through and you wan na make sure you grab that little end so that you don't have little spike ease at the end of our curl and that'll. Give you a little curl like so, and then I just like to catch it catch that little tail end like I would with a curling iron or anything else, roll it down to my scalp and clip it in if you screw it up like. I just did just come back through you, don't to start at the root again, because you've already kind of got that rolled started in the middle roll it up. If I just doing that on the top of my head with four to six curls, um generally gives me a nice little lift. Even if I decide to part my hair on the side, I get a nice little lift on top. When I go to brush this out now, I'm gon na take out the rest of the hair, I'm gon na section it again like I normally would down the middle and tie off one side, and that's it. That'S the look got dad jokes for days guys when we get over to the sides like this. All of this will just be curled under and just like, I normally would the main thing you want to keep in mind when you do. This is just keeping this hair flat and not like twisting everything once you get it into the flatiron, so it takes a little bit of time. It'S not like a quick little. You know flatiron wave that you would normally use a flatiron for you're, actually creating a curl. But what I really like about this is that this curl for me and because you're really going carefully through the entire section of hair, it really really lasts. So that's why this is my preferred method of curling, my hair with heat. Sorry, it is so noisy outside. That'S why this is that's why this is my preferred method of heat styling, my hair, and because it is so much longer lasting than even using a curling iron. I think I also like to take slightly smaller sections when using a flatiron just because it can get out of control really quickly because of the opening and closing of the clip. So I usually do about one-inch sections, but there are usually just a tiny bit thinner than what I would do with a curling iron, which is also another reason why this curl is probably a little bit longer lasting. So again I section this off into little quadrants in the back of my head, so usually two or three sections on either side. You can see I had that twisted, so I just kind of let it go and it'll go back to being flat again if it starts headed toward the end of the flatiron, just open it up just a little bit and scooch it back down, keep twisting, but Um much easier to do when I have a big bathroom mirror in front of me, because I don't see well, my glasses aren't just for show. If you find you missed an end, just come back in there grab it up again, like that someone's apparently doing construction outside I'm gon na finish curling all of this under, and I will be back to show you kind of how the finished thing looks. Okay, so here it is all curled like I said it curled all of the sides under curled this top little section back and as per usual, it's not the neatest thing in the book, but it will do the trick. I promise, if you want to see how I style this I'm gon na do this in a separate video, so we can kind of go step by step and more detail, so that will be the next video coming up. Sorry to make you wait, I just hate for these videos to be exceptionally long, and I want to make this as like bite-sized amounts of information as possible, so hopefully you're. Okay with that so far, you guys seem to be loving. This series we're almost to the very end, the brush out and maybe a Q & A is going to be the final video um. So if you have hair questions, leave those for me down below I'm happy to try my very best to answer those for you. That'S it for me, for today I love you guys and I'll see you next time. Bye,

TsubasaDreams: I never owned a flat-iron since I have pretty straight hair and have been trying to make it curly my whole life, but I might grab one and try this method out!

Rainbow Sprinkles: What would you suggest for curling long hair? My hair is down to my butt and I know it can be difficult to get long hair to hold curl..but any method suggestions would be appreciated

LisaFreemontStreet: I think I need this particular flat iron.

Reese’s Charcoal: How long do you wait to take them out?

jtomalley: Where do you get your magnificent glasses frames?

Jennifer's Projects: Where’s part 2?

Jo Jo: How hot would you have your straightener on? I would be scared that I would burn my hair by having it in it to long.........

michel cormier: Found it...Look like your wearing hair rollers.

michel cormier: why not hair rollers...
