Hey everyone Kaylee who our friendly neighborhood hairstylist here and today I am putting the beach wafer against the time I earn. Who will win? Will any of us win let's find out, so you guys have been asking me to review the beach waver and the time iron for years and years and years, and I have avoided it, but today we're gon na pit them against each other, because they're both basically Meant to curl your hair more easily than a normal curling iron, and I have to be honest as like a hairstylist and a purist, I'm like you know what you can't replace the traditional curling iron, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe today is the day my life is gon na change and we're gon na find out by pitting them against each other one on one side, one on the other on my short hair and my sister's long hair. Let'S do it or our first hair tool. We have the beach waver alright, so I got the one inch one because that's what we typically use when we curl our hair, so it seemed like the best control. So what do you know about this? Ana? I don't really know much, except that it spins on its own, which, like we all know how I feel about automated hair tools, mmm, like I'm kind of terrified of them. I feel like they're, going to have a life of their own and take over no mijo. Ah, this switch got stuck um, but I'm excited because you know, like the whole, like twisting the wrist thing like I'm all about efficiency, so I do like efficiency. Do we have scissors? It'S you a little sister who thinks she's the big sister. Oh you just have. No safety, so the opposite of safety. Conscious, do you guys want to see what we also got in the mail with this a fire extinguisher? Do you want to know why we have this okay looks like exploded. The other day started, making crackling noises. It'S just like. Oh no it'll be fine Lippincott on fire. We had no fire extinguisher. Now we do so. I will open the box. Thank you, you're, not wrong. That'S the thing. I can only sit here quietly, cuz you're right, alright, alright, oh pretty presentation! These are expensive. They'Re like over $ 100, this is plastic. Like real plastic, you plastic to plastic big. She thick. I do read the usage instructions, I mean except this. Is it it's very small. You should supervise children. Okay, so let's see safety cap barrel, custom, clamp, custom, clamp, tiny, tiny, a safety stand. Oh a speed switch where's that right there it will be on slow from arrogant on my candle, Oh dual rotation. You can turn it away from your face and towards face. That'S Martin he's up in 30 seconds full 360 swivel cord. We love and I wait you shouldn't need that. That'S your hold arrow to start rotation release button to stop rotation hold for 2 to 3 seconds; open clamp to remove curl press the home button to reset that classic waves hold the barrel vertically clamp the hair while leaving the ends out defined curls hold barrel. Diagonally clamp ends: curl hair, allow it to cool old Hollywood waves hold the barrel horizontally. I see what y'all are doing here. Okay, so what's the game plan here, half with this half with the other, if we really want to put it to the test, alternating directions on every girl, yeah all right seems pretty point-and-shoot to me, but we'll see parting, my hair down the middle. You know I have definitely seen this on Instagram before so I'm not entirely new to the concept. I am really concerned about this on my short hair, all right. Well, this is probably one of the only sections that I can clip on the end. I don't know what I'm gon na do with the other, yet like that cool cool, okay and we hold it - oh yeah, it's heated up, you release it and there's a girl this one's kind of long enough, all right! Let'S do this one toward the face. If I can, oh all, the hair dropping out: okay, okay, not for pixie cuts and now the next section. Now I'm really gon na start, alternating the curls cuz. I really couldn't on the first section toward the face and closer to the end. Clearly, okay, I'm not one to be dramatic about that, but I'm really being careful with that button and I feel like this thing is coming from my scalp yeah. That'S me: I'm just a wee bit a skirt. Well, maybe I can get it close to the route ish and then wrap it myself, just a little bit Emmanuel yeah. That was the move home button. I'M gon na split this into two just give me a little bit more time to play with it. I do feel like this is pretty fast for me, not knowing what I'm doing okay. This is one thing I wanted to try. Y'All know I love to stretch out the ends of my curls. So what if I put this here, leave a little bit of that wrap her up then, after two to three seconds, I have to duck duck and pull alright. That was a little clumsy, but it worked see this one's more relaxed and this one's a little bit more curled. I really wanted to it's doable. Is it easier heck? No, I do have to say I don't love putting the ends in the clamp. You know you're, like the most damaged part of your hair, is the thing that goes on the heat first and stays on the heat longest, not my favorite. That being said, it does wrap up fairly quickly, so it's getting the hair as evenly as possible in this kind of a process. Alright, last section, when you're working with an iron that has a clamp, it's even the on the clamp, so every little piece of hair gets a chance to get some heat, whereas in this kind of scenario, not so much, oh hey, it's a one! Now any curling iron can become a wand. If you're lazy enough, I'm gon na, let it cool and not touch it. I'M gon na give it the best chance at life and give Ana Laura her turn. Okay, sis. Are you ready to give this a try? I am horrified, but we are going to do it all right for the people for the people. Alright practicing warming up. Alright. Let'S do this start with a nice small section right, so I wrap it. Oh yeah, mm-hmm yeah, there doesn't seem fast at all on mine whoo. I don't feel quite as alarmed so now this one's gon na go. This is kind of fun, take a little bit of a bigger section, so we're not here all day and quality control me, and this thing we're better friends now, but I still don't trust it blows. Ah, okay, you just unroll it it's okay! I panicked for a second whoa. We'Re live folks. Next, it's only been 11 minutes. Well, okay, so typically it takes me like 20 minutes to do my whole head. My money would not have so but plus learning curve, I'm pretty confident that everybody could handle this whole arrow situation. If anyone was gon na have our done with that, it would be me. These are some really pretty girls, all right now to sit and wait and not to touch them. That'S the hard part! Well, your curls look beautiful. My gosh yeah are like very green lips, they're good we haven't brushed through yet, but it turned out waster on your hair than my hair, like what yeah exactly except I don't know what happened to this one she's she's, sad, so yeah, just the efficiency is lost On short, hair, a long hair, it's pretty clear, it's very efficient. Yes, that's good! Do you feel like you could do more than one Luke, though I don't, I feel like there's one type of curl out. You can go with that because, in my journey with the short wand like to get all of my hair on there, I had a very specific way I had to like. Let it climb all it was rapping. That'S some tea. You could curl all your hair in one direction. You could do opposite directions. You could put a smoothing product in or a texturizing product, so you could change the look in that way. Yeah, but not the actual type of curl right I mean I feel, like I've, become like the girl that uses a one-inch curling iron to do a thousand different curls. Yes, you can't do that with this. No can we talk about the material, though yeah. It is not hundred and plastic and then this ceramic there's not so much I can tell by looking at it, but it doesn't look like that grain of ceramic either. I know that they have like a Lux iron out. I was so confused trying to order this. There are so many different kinds I was like. I just want like one that typifies your brand. What do I buy so I bought this one I feel like okay. This is for that girl, with, like my length, hair, who likes to her curls one way, and she just wants to knock it out, be done with it and like that's it, because, when it comes to actual cruel ends a little bit, I do like that. Yeah. This is like, maybe twenty minutes later by the way, alright and we come through it. What is like this whole section, though, like this was one section. This was a different section. How did they all end up? Looking that crappy, that's a little better. It'S still not great, I'm gon na say I don't love it for my length of hair. Some of this is user error. Let'S just go ahead and point that out, I'm still learning. I think if I was to try it two or three more times some of these weird little things might not happen again. I might get better at it. I think that the overall experience is not one that was worth it to me, but I am pretty excited to see Ana Laura's hair once it's brushed through so Ana Laura and I now have to live with this for the rest of the day. I know that's why I want to see yours, I mean they're, not bad, I don't like them. You know what I am noticing like straight and then curl yeah, all of the classes, sorority girl, curl she's, tight at the bottom. This matches, like condense, oh and that's what I'm seeing on my hair. That'S why I have the weird little oh, which that makes sense. I support that we put on the clamp and held the most no, no, we wanted to love you, let's beat there yeah. What'S this beautiful this one beautiful overall, though? No no, it's just not our style yeah exactly, but you curled it for the look you were going for and you didn't get the look. That'S what we're evaluating it on it didn't happen, and I don't think that there is a way to get a looser and in a tighter top with that iron. That'S what that's my bottom with it. I don't know what that base was, but no yeah final thoughts. Would you recommend it to a friend no yeah? I wouldn't recommend it to a friend either um. Also it's really expensive to be so prototype piece, no cuz! It'S been out for a few years. It should look better right now, yeah, so sorry, beach waiver really wanted to like it really really truly did again so much better than those things that, like vacuum up your curls into it, oh yeah, so much better, better results, yeah, better results, better experience, all that, If you're looking for something in that realm, this I do recommend but uh as opposed to a normal curling iron. I have a better time, curling my hair, with a flat iron that I do with the curling iron. So I am interested to see how this dude works. Okay, talk about a different experience. First of all, it opens, and this looks gorgeous. Are you kidding me? It'S got like this metallic glitter in it she's pretty. It comes with a little like case. If you need to put it back in a suitcase or something, and then this one actually has a manual place, the iron plate side closest to the scalp and glide down to create straight hair, which one is the plate side: okay, curling left side, lifting your right Elbow place, the guide side closest to the scalp rotate guide side toward the mirror, who might need a video curling. The right side coming up from under the hair place, the guide side closest to the scalp, rotate guide side toward mirror and then slide toward the mirror. With very light pressure who love velcro on the court yeah, this is kind of weird. This is the whole thing is that it closes together like this, like it comes together like a drunk alligator. You know what I feel like I'm gon na need before this ding flat iron thing. He protected forgot it on the other side, I'm not forgetting it. On this side. Okay, I pulled up a video on my phone because I was getting very confused, so she said: you've got your shiny side where the plates are, which is the one you guys are seeing right now and then you've got your brown side where just the plastic is It'S also where this little curved lip guy is and to curl. You want the plastic side, the brown side, the bulb side against your head, and then you room your motorcycle away from you and then push it forward towards the mirror she said not up, but forward. That'S the instructions I've received so with a cold iron. Let'S try this out and towards the head. You close it room the motorcycle and push away. I get why they keep saying light pressure, though, because if you were to hold on with this like really tight, it would never go through the hair, I'm putting it on the middle heat. Setting got the cute little dots that are indicating, and then I think once it stays solid, it's warmed up, because my hair is short. I'M gon na try it on some of the top sections and then go back in for the underneath sections. Oh wow, it's already heated up awesome now I did not take long brown side towards the face close twist and slide all right. Well that curled it. I did the thing that I said not to do with my flat iron curls video though I went too fast over the base and slow over the ends. So, let's try that again this way twist there we go now, let's see if I can do one towards my face. That'S gon na be the real challenge, so that's gon na be silver plates. Here turn it towards my face: haha. Okay! Well, now that I've got the general gist of it, let's go into the bottom sections: we've earned it alright. Let'S do that again, I felt like I was doing so good yeah, not quite working just go to a different piece of hair for a bit. What in the cindy-lou who jeez? Let'S try it this way, see if this offs at all where's the straightening side, let's put some moisture in with the heat protectant, let's brush it, let's give it a chance to reset before we try that again, technically a curl, you know as silly as the room Thing sounds: it does help a lot with the whole understanding what to do thing. Alright, there we go got another little bend in. I think what I was doing before I was holding the iron horizontally and because these pieces are so short, they were taking it very literally. So I have to fully reach over my head and then close and rotate and slide. I think I've done what I'm gon na do on that section. Let'S let down some more work, alright! Well, I've already done this stuff successfully. Let'S keep going all right on the other side. I did this last bit in two sections, so I'm gon na do that again. All right last section, I'm very interested to see how you do Anna Laura, not cuz. I just feel like it. No I'm doing that the wrong way, yeah cuz. I have to focus so hard. Okay, here room rotate the wrist back, see that I mean I'm this far in and I still have to correct myself. Every time feel like I might not be doing that towards the face right. It'S just like a math problem. I call this piece over here away from my face when I flip it over it's curled toward my face, so putting it here, trimming it back sliding it through haha so confused, then I'm rotating it opposite of what the little guide is rotating it. Okay, I just wasn't going slow enough. Oh you know what I was doing. I was still going over like this. You have to go under and then do what I was doing. Clamp and twist. Is that right? Oh yeah? No, no! That'S right! No! It'S not! That goes away from the face. How did I do that? I did it right. I just don't know how I did it, I'm losing my mind: okay, okay, okay, okay, I did it. I did it so the plastic side still has to go against your head, but it has to be facing up you close it. You rotate toward your face, see you opposite room, and that does it and also this piece is curled towards my face so beautifully. But I think I want to come away from my face: I'm just gon na redo that one well, I don't love it: okay, okay, but just one one more piece. Last piece I promised myself and everyone else. Oh that's how you do it with an actual straightener. I can't I can't do it that way: that's cheating, ah mother of Troy. This has been actually yeah. I would have to say this has been difficult honey. What happens? Oh gosh, and it's like that's straight already. I'M just gon na run my fingers through it. I'M so mad, no, this frickin for forgetting we're gon na this is so bad. I'M supposed to you know horrible. What really truly does, though, that's the thing. Let'S just have Anna Laura. Do it away from the face? Clearly, you can do it toward the face but like. Why would you just why okay and alright get in here, I'm highly pup's earned as well, okay here and push it forward? I have been it's kind of hard to glide it. It does get suck. You feel it well, it curled it yeah, but you have to things like. If your hair is this long, you only got that much of them mm-hmm, yeah, you're, right it mostly curls on the ends. Hmm seems to be a trend. Yeah I'll be interested to see what you can do on yourself on not tired arms. Also, my arms are exhausted. I'M just gon na stay here for safety, I'll room, the other way, nope yep you pull back to the room, took me a little while to figure out, oh stop, stop stop you're sliding off just start start up here, it'll be easier to learn. Living forever. Ya know it's not comfortable at all. I think it's actually easier to do it with the normal flat iron, difficult angry, for whom I think you know Laura's getting pup set alrighty. So here's how to do it with a normal straightener. Oh, I didn't realize that that was done. Y'All want to see what I can do in like two seconds here. Like look at that look at that there y'all I got a cute little ringlets was of this. There was no like room and no like math symbols. Over my face, it was just. Let me show you how to do this put the iron in, as you normally would, and you're gon na twist it. Whichever way you want it to go, so we're going away from the face, if you put it in and you're gon na turn it at least 180 degrees, but I you'd normally turn it all the way around. And then you slide it through slower the tighter the faster the looser, so I do slower at the top and then just quick over the ends and it's curls ooh you're not gon na want to do that or else it's gon na curl towards your face. No, you were twisting it the right way. It was putting the tail on top of it is what was gon na curl it towards the face. That'S physics, I don't understand. I just know that it happens. Then, the time yeah yeah you're doing all right getting confused. Cuz of the other stuff yeah, it doesn't need much. You would just put it in here. Do a little room slide it over here you look much more confident, you're doing great cuz you're doing a really good job holding up the end of that, so that it's not falling out from under these plates. The good thing about this flatiron is how narrow it is, the narrower your Flatiron, the tighter your curls, can get if you want them to look at how much faster you got at that transition. Already in like three pieces, she's amazing guys it's a testament to how difficult to learn the time is, though I know seriously. I tried six times and got no better. That'S really annoying! I'M gon na hold out the time what, ah, what the forking short bolt! Look. It'S like going horizontally, I'm so bad, I'm not using not again yeah yeah. So your first time learning the time. Your first time learning this and there wasn't like you - did struggle at first yeah. It'S not magic! That'S still it's something to learn, but this is impossible and it hurt yeah. It hurt my wrist. My wrist is still sore and yeah. Look. I have the only curls on my header than was I did with the flat iron yeah. I mean. What do you guys think we could have her keep for during on our ability to stay monetized in this video, or we could finish with the flat iron? Let'S just see how much better you get at the flat iron in the next like 10 to 15 minutes, while you finish this out, all right keep protective Wow yeah. I had an idea what you were doing the thing. Oh my! So if you do this, it goes into the iron like this, and then you rotate it. So really you just have to hold your iron here, put it through the plate, like it's gon na, be and slide it look at it, though I didn't have to twist it off. So this one is literally just you put it into the plates this way and it forward. Oh wow, wow wow, I'm so smart. Well, the only thing that worked today was an actual flat iron. We look nuts, Oh actually, you haven't broken yours up yet so I mean, if we're being fair, it is a little straighter up towards the top and that's just a little bit of a learning curve for you for sure you go back in and just add in A couple more at the root: that's what I do there. You go okay, so this video was the time iron versus the beach waiver huh. I think if you have made it to this point in the video, I think you know that the beach waiver - it won - yeah yeah, like honestly, even with, like you, learning the flat iron and doing that successfully. I do still really like this side. It'S still not amazing, I think you could do the same and or better with a normal one inch curling iron, which would cost a lot less, especially if you pick up any of my favorites that I mentioned that are typically a lot less expensive. I just I mean it's still good. Like you know, mobility issues would prefer the little twist up thing sure you know it's not gon na be a bad purchase. It'S not just. I just don't think it's gon na be the best purchase, whereas this one, you better, be ready to get your PhD in time to be able to use it like do that, Skype call yeah seriously. Do the free Skype call that comes with every time iron, because you're gon na need it cuz? Like legit, I figured out a new way to use my flat iron to curl hair faster that I figured out how to use this successfully yeah I'm a little upset. Also, look at my hair because you look crazy. Oh man, I got ta wrap this video up. We really do when we pick out these tools like what what are we gon na use in our video? We never want to do a video where it's like. Don'T get either of these, but like right, that's what happened! Uh cuz! I feel like I've done plenty of videos where I'm like I'm gon na hate this thing, and then I love it like I'm. Not. I don't just not like things not like things, but no and probably not yeah, exactly I'm not gon na use it again. I might give it to a friend who's, like very hair lazy, I'm a lazy, hair girl in different ways. So no judgement there. If you really really want to automated curling iron, that's the favorite one that I've tried so far. I just prefer a normal curling iron over an automated one. If you would like to be able to just slide a straightener through your hair and get a curl try the methods that I showed because, honestly I don't understand what this design does differently. No, because you're still rotating it exactly is that's right. Daughter'S gon na take the twisting out of it. Meanwhile, my wrist is getting carpal tunnel in. I think you got our thoughts yeah. What tools should we pin against each other? Next time guys tell us in the comments below alright guys. I hope that you enjoyed today's video. That was a lot. If you remember the lollipops that came on things like this, you just and it rotated the lollipop for you,

Stephanie Connor: What a lot of reviewers miss is that these tools aren’t always about efficiency, but can sometimes be great options for people with mobility issues.

Harlow Marie: My husband recently bought me the Tyme iron and I love it! I was never good at curling my hair but after learning how do to it with the Tyme, it's amazing! So quick and easy and curls last forever. You just gotta get past the learning curve lol

106andie: Honestly my favorite for beachy waves, loose curls or smooth hair is the 3 in 1 flat iron by Kristin Ess nothing really tops it.

Brittany Reilly: Coming from someone who uses a Tyme iron all the time… the technique comes with time! Once you get the technique down the curls are beautiful. Tyme offers online classes for help.

Bee273: I feel extremely unsure of my hairstyle now lol. They kept saying how bad it was and they can’t go out like that and I thought, “hmm, my hair never looks that good when I spend that much time on my hair.”

McKenna Shae: I absolutely love love love my beach waver! You have to leave out the ends to get the look I like. I am terrible at curling my hair at any length and the beach waver just takes all the work out of it! I'm so sad you didn't like it!

Shelbie: Would love to know what their criteria for a pretty curl would be. The “sorority girl curls” looked way better than the flat iron curls in my opinion.

Stl JH: I swear by my Beachwaver. If I want looser curls, I brush through sooner when cooling. They last for days. I have a smaller and larger sized barrels. It does not disappoint! PS I don't go all the way to my ends - I clamp higher - and it doesn't crimp.

Addilyn Anderson: I have a different beach waver and I love it! At first, the curling iron should only curl one way but I worked with it and you can make some very pretty beach waves!

jennifer moore: LOVE MY TYME IRON! Get past the learning curve and then you can do any curl or style you want!! Without any pain as well, not like you had..

Taara Anderson: I seriously love you two so much! ❤️ thanks for being so real and honest about products!!

Deb: I would love to see more heatless hairstyles. I miss the braids videos so much

Annie Francis: Thanks so much for this video! I bought a tyme and all the tutorials made it look magical and I really struggled to make my hair look good with it. Honestly this was helpful for improving my technique and also validating that not every iron is a good fit!

Tanya Valdez: I have a Thyme iron and love it. There is a learning curve, but I can do my long hair much quicker. My hair is also super straight and keeps a curl longer with it. You just have to stick with it.

Allicyn Texeira: I’m not great at curling my hair with a flat iron (though I’ve gotten immensely better since you will be definitely using your new trick), but I get the physics of the tail end going over the hair going towards your face (21:25 for reference). If you put the tail end above the hair that’s in the iron, the hair is directed upwards, opposite of the way it falls, which is down So when you lay it back down, it’s going in the opposite direction, it’s like you’re curling the strand upside down. When you put the ends under the hair that’s in the iron you’re curling it in the direction it’s gonna fall. If that was confusing, you can see what I mean by using your fingers as the flat iron and rotating the ends around your fingers like the flat iron. Instead of pulling the finger through, tilt them so the hair strand is facing the way it falls (down) and you can see which way it curls. I hope my late night ramblings have explained the confusing hair physics good enough

Buffy Cary: I used a traditional curling iron to curl my hair for my work's Christmas party. I literally spent 45 minutes curling my hair for it to only last about 10 minutes. I was SO frustrated. I even used all of the Kayley Melissa tips and tricks. Hopefully the flat iron might do better.

Trangy: I love my tyme iron. Yep definitely a learning curve at first but as long as you practice as you are watching videos from tyme. It becomes very quick and the curls last sooo long. Remember not to hold the iron too tight. I get the best curls holding it vertically and running through the hair towards the mirror. I have very long hair and i timed myself, takes 20 mins to do my whole head and curls last between 5-7 days.

Katie Kingston: I love having both of you do reviews. It's so much fun, yet very helpful!! Could you do one on the Paul Mitchell express ion unclipped 3-in-1 curling iron? I'm not sure of how to get the best curls from a wand yet.

Jessica Farmer: There’s definitely a learning curve with the Tyme iron but they also offer free FaceTimes to learn how to use it to make different curls!

justasmalltowngirl: I love my beach Weaver, I've had it about 4/5 years now. Give it, I'm the girl they described, I do my hair one way, and it works for me, and save me time. (I say this as I watch all these videos and fail at every attempt to do a neat braid or anything more exciting)

Amanda Vicary: If you take enough time to learn the Tyme iron you can get “cute little ringlet” curls with it. It’s actually very easy & comfortable to use once you give it a fair try. I have a cheaper version of the Tyme iron & short hair & my curls turn out beautifully & last the day

Chelsea Goddard: My hair is SUPER long (like butt-length), so I’ve been eyeing the beachwaver. I thought it might make it easier to wrap up and curl my hair.

alexandracalifornia: I can’t thank u enough for the new way u figured out how to use the straightener. I have been struggling for about a year and even after tutorials and a lesson from my stylist my curls sucked. I watched you try the new way once and got a nice curl on my first try!!,

N Fam: You can get different types of curls with the beach waver.it depends on how you hold it. I have the 2” and love it.

Amanda Corona: I feel like waiting for the beach waver to automatically roll up the strand of hair takes way longer than just manually wrapping your hair around a normal hair wand.

Amy Prijatel: I love the beach wave. The tyme wave one I will pass on & every time I saw this thing I new it wasn’t worth it.

Ellen Osborne: Your channel has always been amazing... but your chemistry with Anna Laura just takes it to a new level!

Kelly Connelly: I’ve had the hair chop today! 7 inches off and this video has came just in time for my Christmas party tomorrow

Linda S: So excited to try that second method with the straightener on my short hair!!

Hazy Humanoid: I own both of these tools and then some. My go to is neither. Nume 1 inch curling wand wins every time. The Tyme iron in my opinion takes longer to use and can be difficult to get the hang of. The Beachwaver can leave a mark where clamped and honestly I can wrap around my wand much quicker.

Christina K: The thing is ive tried so many times to curl my hair with a straight iron and i get maybe one decent curl and i struggle getting the rest done and stop bc i dont want to fry it going over the same spot over n over

Ashley: The beach waver has a longer barrel my sister has it. She loves it.

Badgal Kia: Beach waver works the best to me from watching this ‍♀️ & works the easiest. Guess that’s what I’m going to buy. Thanks for this video ladies

Jasmine McLaughlin: New subscriber!! Watching this taught me how to EASILY curl with a flat iron- gah! Thank you SOOOO much!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

twentysix linx: How refreshing! Two awesome, fun, witty, real, great energy people. Super video!!! This is the 1st positive beauty product review I've ever given. That's saying something. Well done!!!

Rebecca Ude: OMG!!! I said the same thing (to my husband who said “huh”?)lol! I learned it from Niki Sky in 2017 & haven’t twisted my wrist to get beautiful curls since then!

katie spitzer: This review is helpful and gonna keep what yell said in mind, but I think I am gonna buy the beach waver anyways. I have a hell of time curling my own hair especially in the back and around my face. I feel this will be faster and less damaging to my hair.

Nina S: You guy’s are hilarious! great video! thanks for taking the time to show us ladies what and what not to do. I’m a such a tomboy like I suck at hair lol. I find that I enjoy a regular flat iron the best as well.

Celeste Stratton: What I got out of this video: Kayley needs supervision, easier way to do flat iron curls ❤️

Mare Mare: I absolutely love my beachwaver.. I have the small, medium and large ones lol.. but I'm the person who cannot no matter what I do cannot curl my hair with a flat iron!!

nailsonpointbynina: I love how she says she JUST figured out the „new“ technique to use a flat iron she has a whole video where she shows this specific technique it´s called „how to: easy flat iron curls (no twisting)“ who else knows this video? love u Kayley!

Emma Hunt: I think Anna Laura's beach waver curls looked really nice and relaxed at the end. Could brood for someone just looking to have their hair look a bit more casual and subdued for work or something.

abbie.normal46: I love my Tyme iron. It takes a few times to figure it out and depending on the angle you hold it is the type of curl you get. I love that it has a flat iron feature too. 2 in one. I loved using on my shorter hair- a little longer than yours. Try a few more times and watch a few more youtube videos on how to use.

Suzan Storm: Oh my gosh, thank you for saving me $$$$! I was truly just talking to a friend about the Beachwaver... my hair is shorter so sticking with the flatiron!

Jamie Monroe: I suck at curling my hair with a straighter too. Sometimes I get it sometimes I don't. I will definitely try what you showed at the end so you do not even have to twist it. Thanks!!

Ashley: Thank you for not having me waste my money lol. $15 flat iron from Target for me wins.

Sam Sawka: This video taught me more on how to curl my hair with my straightener than any of the other heating tools

TYME: Hi Kayla! You were so close to using the TYME Iron the correct way! It may have been uncomfortable to use if you weren't holding the iron with your thumb behind the power button. Make sure you hold it like that for curling or straightening! We also recommend using the iron vertically instead of horizontally, you mentioned this once in the video! Reach out to us if you have any questions or would like a demo!

Hailee Grmick: TYME offers video sessions to help learn if you need it, since it is a bit tricky, and in the videos they have on their youtube if you look straight ahead at the mirror and pull towards a corner on your mirror (different ones achieve different things) it's super simple to get a curl close to the head, not just on the ends

Libby Audrey: So glad you reviewed the beachwaver. I definitely don't need or want it anymore. Yeahhh that Tyme iron is just too difficult. I never thought I could use that. I love my 1.25 inch Kristin Ess curling iron! Pleaseeee test out that new conair automatic cordless curler!

Rachel Ralston: This is the first video of yours I’ve ever watched and I have to say! Y’all are sooo cute I love your personalities, and this video just really made my day!

Mellimaus02: I'm curious: why did both of you didn't pull the strands forward on the second one as the instructions said? It probably wouldn't have made the curls great, but maybe they would've been curlyish? Best wishes from Berlin :*

Rachel Frumkin: I was just looking at these two products last night. I was perplexed by the beach waver. Also it is like way way to much money for what it is. I have seen reviews of the Tyme Iron before but still perplexing. I just feel like it is going to suck up all my hair and then I am screwed.

kelly b: I have the Tyme iron and absolutely love it! But you really have to relearn styling to use it correctly. It’s not hard, just watch a few videos or get with the company for their free video one on one tutorials. Once you learn how to use it, you can create many different looks so easily.

Heather Callender: I don’t know about the actual revolving curling iron but I have a tyme and I love it. My hair type doesn’t usually curl well without lots of heat. And forget about holding a curl. The Tyme achieves both of these things for my hair. I have medium length hair. With anything it takes practice. But I would definitely recommend the Tyme. I use it daily.

Chanel Gloe: I love my beachwaver and the curls it makes, but I find that the curls don’t last as long as I would like throughout the day.

ikixazz23: The automatic curling is great but it would have been way better if the clamp was long like a regular curling iron, then it wraps by pushing the button. That way, you can curl the top half first then loosen the clamp and do the bottom. It saves you from twisting your arm.

Stacy B: The Tyme Iron takes a lot of practice, but once you get the right technique down, it gives you amazing, long lasting curls. I would highly recommend you watch their videos to get the technique correct.

Cindy Duong: Y’all should try the Kiss Instawave! An automatic curler i personally love haha

Aurelia - Philosophy of Yum: THANK YOU! Cleared up a LOT of questions! Could you test the VAV Tourmaline Ceramic Automatic curling iron as well PLEASE?? It does curl from top to bottom, so your ends curl last! (different from Beachwaver in that sense) xxx

Khadine Gómez: In my opinion, I liked the result with the Beachwaver, it gives a natural look, I would not know if that is her natural hair or not, and I kind of like that the hair looks natural, no matter if it is not. My natural hair sometimes dries with waves, sometimes with curls, sometimes more straight, and sometimes is a mix of everything in one only section, most of the time, it is more straight on top, and then it curls or waves from the middle to the edge, so I can tell you that, the results in min. 9:53 looks very very but very natural, precisely because is irregular. I like it.

Tiffany Carter: Kayley's convinced me to use a flatiron to curl my hair.

Kc: I LOVE my beachwaver! Lazy girls best friend! Especially for very fine long hair that holds a crease ridiculously good normal curling iron I can never get to work without ridiculous creasing. Plus arthritis wrists, this is a GEM!

Sophie Hinchman: I have the 1.25 pro beachwaver and I really like it, I have a lot of hair so having something turn on it’s own helps

iamclo: With the thyme iron it says to take vertical sections not horizontal, it works a lot better that way.

Chrissy MCM: I genuinely don’t understand how I can’t grasp how to curl my hair with a flat iron ‍♀️ You guys and everyone else I know make it look so effortless

Rachel Bell: The look Anna Laura gave at the “supervise children” I died

Elizabeth Yates: Oh my gosh that was the funniest video you've ever done!! I absolutely love you girls you remind me of my little sister and I xoxox

A S: I got my hair stuck in one of the vacuum curler thingy right before a school dance and I actually used the Tyne iron to straighten my hair after because it looked all wonky

lis ♡: This is a great video !! I hope you don't mind me asking, but if you're planning on doing a christmas hairstyles video for this year, could you please include hairstyles for people with bangs ? It's quite hard finding good hairstyles when you have bangs and short hair...

What’s Next with Jess: You got the Tyme technique down when you used your straightener! If you use that same technique on the Tyme, twisting and going slow with little tension, you will get it! Another HINT with the Tyme is putting your thumb behind the light and following the curved edge to your head vertically with vertical sections of hair when curling; when straightening, follow the exposed plate side horizontally with parallel sections. Then, you can play with your angles, speed, section size, curl direction, and even heat setting to creat different curls! ✨

Robyn Fitch: I had the exact same experience with the Tyme iron. I just don’t understand what the point is? It’s more difficult than a traditional flat iron and super confusing!!

Emma Hill: I have short hair and the beachwaver S75 it’s a smaller and it works great for shorter hair. I have the beachwaver and the tyme. Love both lol.

Kiki Dainton Piacente: I’ve never been able to curl my hair with any tool before, until you used a wand/clip less iron in a video. So I bought one and I can actually curl my hair now!!! Still can’t do straightener curls and I definitely won’t be paying any attention to Tyme ads on Facebook anymore. If you can’t figure it out and it hurts your wrist, I’d never get it.

jlammetje: Heh, Kayley's "horrible curls" with these products is the most curl my hair'll take :')

Brittany G: Hair tool showdown idea: Maison Pearson brush versus Drugstore plastic hairbrush

Made New Ministries: I’ve been wanting to buy the beach waver but I’m scared my hair will get caught up lol!!

Neera Sinha-Frazer: I thought I was the only one who didn’t like the beach waver. It was for all of the reasons you mentioned. I wanted so bad to love it. I felt like it didn’t offer me anything beyond a regular curling iron. I didn’t like the automatic rolling because I burnt my scalp a few times. It was easier to control when I rolled it myself. I don’t think it’s worth the money. Mine shorted out after a few uses. It’s a great tool for someone who wants easy effortless curls. But I don’t recommend it. My hair is almost as long as Anna Laura’s & it’s very thick. I didn’t like the flatness at the top either. I felt like the curl was too weighed down

Jmit: Hey Kayley!!! Can you please please do more Mad Men-esque hairstyles? I can't find tutorials anywhere. Betty, Dr. Faye Miller, and Trudy have some amazing hairstyles on the show and I'd love to have at least some idea of how to recreate them!

Cathy Wiseman: I will always 100% defend my Tyme iron. I’ve had mine for years! It curls my waist length hair much faster than any regular irons and it’s the only thing I’ve used that the curls actually last, like until I wash my hair. It’s really not that hard to use and I can do many different styles with mine.

Zofia Bochenska: To be honest, your hair after those things looks more or less like my struggles with curling iron. I guess it is a trial and error thing. However, super curious to try flat iron next, maybe even my clumsy self can figure it out.

Tristan Szych: What hair products would you suggest for thin hair to keep it from getting by dead/split ends?

Patti Pesce: You could have tried the other ways with the beach curler. I use the InStyler which is very similar and love it. My hair is just about shoulder length.

chelbones: I’m going to need a tutorial on the new way using the flatiron

Lydee Rose: I do remember those lollipops and honestly it didn't really make it easier to eat/lick, but it was fun as a kid.

ladykatie: these irons seem like more trouble than they're worth!! i honestly think it would be easier to learn how to curl the traditional way than to use these two irons hahaha.

Shellby Sy: Have you gals tried the T3 twirl automatic rotating curler? I would love to see a video from you two of that one as I was definitely considering that one!

Anna's CozyCorner: What size/kind of flat iron would you recommend for curling your hair?

G_Rivera: Is it bad that I looooved Anna Laura’s hair with the first tool?

Lpg 8: I thought the reason the Tyme was designed that way was so that you didn't have to twist it otherwise why would you want to make it more difficult?

Donna Lewis: Hiya another great video and fantastic content Tbh it looked complicated to me so I’d not buy them ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Meg Phibbs: I’d like to see your thoughts on the bed head beachwaver (and similar items)

HiThere: This is interesting to watch because I love my BeachWavers so much. I have the S series (that white one) and the Pro and I highly recommend the A series. The pro one is different material on the barrel and the tool overall is much heavier. I have figured out how to do several different type of curls with it including stretching out my curls and I leave my ends out (so does Sarah Potempa the creator of it) to create that beach wave with the piecey ends. It's so fast to use also especially when alternating the curl direction. The pro one doesn't have the Home button which is frustrating because you have to tap the button to get it to reset in home position. I can never get the under section of my hair curled without burning myself but when the Beachwaver it's done no problem. I have the 1in S series and the 1.5in Pro, I recommend the 1in because then you can do smaller curls or larger curls with using more hair and have more versatility with different curls whereas the 1.5 in is just one basic curl because it's so large of a barrel. Their YouTube and Instagram is great for seeing how to get different curls.

Ftn Nabilah: Very helpful! I almost bought the tyme iron

Mireya Val: My friend let me borrow her Tyme iron and I was using it for the first time while watching this, and it is no joke, I hate the Tyme iron! It’s so hard!!! And it took forever to get 3 curls on my long hair

Savanna: I got the beach waver and I hated it. It scared the heck out of me because I would accidentally hit the home button and it would start twisting while my hair was already curled and at my scalp! Also the curls fell within 30 mins. Don’t waste your money.

cindland: Omg. My hair would’ve fallen totally flat with that beachwave wand. If I do opposite alternating rolling, I get flat flat flat and no waves. I think your sister has very textured hair. . With long hair, there’s too much at the top and you get that corkscrew effect with very loose waves on top and tighter on the bottom.thanks for showing these tools. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to try the Tyme rod. The ads for the Tyme just look so GOOD!

GetIT2getherSAY: That sweater is SO CUTE!! Anybody know where she got it? LOVE the vid btw!

Lauren Sutherland: Anna Laura’s beachwaver curls at the end actually look really good?

Scarleth: I would love to see you use the instyler !!
