Hi guys and welcome back to my channel, my name is chloe brown, if you're new here and if you are returning - welcome, i'm so glad that you're here i know it's been a hot minute. The end of summer is crazy. The end of summer is crazy. So it's probably been a month since i've uploaded but anyways i'm here and that's all that matters here we go so my daughter started kindergarten crazy. I know yeah, it's been crazy. Literally, it's been crazy um, but we are all good. Now she is set, and today i wanted to show you how i curl with my straightener. I have done these tutorials before how i curl with my straightener um. I don't. I haven't done it in a in a while. Actually, my most viewed, video ever on youtube is how i curl like do flat iron curls um, which my hair was a lot shorter. A lot blonder and i kind of did my style way different back then. So i i wanted to show you an updated thing where i curl, with my flat iron and yeah, there's also a sale, that's ending in just a couple of days so get on that it ends on the end of august um, my code chloe 50. To get anything off of crocs website that is regular price, 50 off so chloe 50 is the code i'll link it down below i'll put all the info down below. If you are looking to get a new flat iron, this is my favorite. It'S the new classic infrared flat iron. This is the one and a half inch. I think that this does perfect with straightening your hair curling, your hair, it's great, and you can use such low temperature on this. So i use 320 and the infrared is on um and it's like one pass. Technology keeps allows your hair to retain all of its moisture, because the infrared and the black titanium plates are phenomenal. So i straighten the bottom section of my hair. That'S just because it's easier with short hair, you don't have to curl everything um, so i just straighten the bottoms and then kind of curl, the mids in the top. So that's all i'm doing here. Okay, so first section done. Hair is straight. If you're curious on what i did before this, i just blow dried my hair and put paul mitchell super skinny serum in there, and then i put a few squirts of the multiflex from croc. They also have this on their website um. If it's not on sale, then you can get 50 off of that um. So yeah i just blow-dried my hair and like just added a little round brush in the front sections to just add that volume other than that. Nothing. Okay, so we're gon na get to curling we're gon na just kind of put it at an angle and start those curls right at the root and then release when you get about like an inch and a half down the faster you go, the looser your curls Will be so i'm going for this type of look today, you'll see once i curl more on the bottom section, i'm just going to curl all in the same direction when i get towards the top i'm going to do alternating directions. I really like to get my curls at the root. I like a lot of body at the root of my hair. I like big hair. Not everybody does, but i do doesn't mean that you have to do your hair like this, but um yeah and flat iron curls. I think so. Some people either really know how to curl their hair with a curling iron, and you just got it down and some people are lost. I totally get that because you want to curl the bottoms of your hair when you use your curling iron, because that just i don't know it just feels feels right, but you shouldn't my last video. I did then, no! No, that's what i call no no curls with the flat iron. You can avoid that right, because you're curling at the top and then going towards the bottom. So some people do prefer the flat iron curls over the curling iron due to them being able to keep the ends straighter. Now, as you can see, i am straightening the ends as i'm going along letting go and then straightening the end. So i don't curl all the way down. Smaller sections will allow you to get tighter, curls, bigger sections, looser curls, the slower you go, the tighter they'll be the faster you go, the less curly they'll be all right. I'M going to finish off this section at the bottom, just doing the same thing, curling away from my face meeting in the middle in the back, once i get to the next section, i will continue talking all right now that i'm getting into this midsection. I am going to start curling the two first pieces away from my face and then the next piece i'm going to curl towards my face. The reason why i do this is to add movement. If you curl everything in the same direction, it's going to want to fall together and it's going to look like a wave that all kind of collects together. I, like my hair, looking more separated. I, like my hair, having more body the more separation and in like different directions. You have your hair, the bigger it is, and i don't know it just looks better. So, even just putting one curl towards your face changes everything you don't have to do it like crazy. Just you know, add one. Every now and again also i get asked the back of my head. I just i don't like look in a mirror. I look in the mirror at the very end when i'm finished curling, my hair, but honestly i just feel around and once i get to the middle, i just switch sides and kind of you know. Just i don't know how to explain it, but i i don't use like a mirror or anything for the back. I just feel around and you can see what's straight and what's not if you hold it to the side, so i just kind of you know, lift up like this and i'm like, ah that one's curled that one's, not you, know stuff like that. Sometimes, when people are using a flat iron to curl their hair, you get a lot of kinks and that's because your your flat iron either like doesn't slide through your hair very well. It does what i just showed. I don't know this one slides through my hair, like glides like butter, but some of them don't, and so that can cause those little lines or kinks in your hair. You want to have that smooth movement as you're going down, do not stop in the middle of curling, your hair, when you're using a flat iron. So when you curl your hair, don't just like let it sit because that'll give you a kink. So really it's constant movement, constant, slow movement going all the way through also don't use super high heat when you use that super high heat you're going to get more of those kinks you're going to get those tighter curls, it's going to look more like ringlets, rather Than a more softer looking wave, i always part my hair down the middle when i am curling, no matter what, if i flip my hair, i like flipping it. It gives it that bigger bang voluminous little flip um. So i no matter what part my hair down. The middle, unless i'm doing like a very specific hairstyle, but for the most part, it's always down the middle. Now, when i get to these front sections in the front, i do like them to be a little bit more straight and then the curls start right. Underneath my eye, so i'm being a little bit more gentle on the front, also the front of your hair, you style the most so you're going to have the most breakage in the front. So you don't want to use a ton of heat at the front of your hair. You know when i was in high school and we used to have those like fried off bangs in the front. It was like yeah. That'S why you're just always putting that flat iron right at the front? It'S not good! I remember when i was in high school before i learned anything about integrity of hair and stuff like that man, i would just use 450 full blast on my hair and um. You were taught that like ceramic was best and all this stuff, and it's just funny it's funny how things have changed now i don't know if you're noticing too, when i straighten my hair, i don't like pull it out and do this because it sticks out. So when i straighten the ends, i bend them towards my head, so they do lay nicely and flat. Some people do have the issue of hair sticking straight out. If you do just take your flat iron and bend, those ends a little bit towards your head. That will fix your problem, especially people who have a lot of layers just do that, just bend it slightly towards your head, see like that sticking out. I don't like that. So just a slight bend towards your head and now it's not sticking out anymore. I think this will be the last section, so we're going to part this down the middle. My middle is a little sides, but that's just because my cowlick okay, this is where i do things a little bit different. I, like my hair to frame my face and i like it to drape it like a curtain, so i'm going to take my flat iron and i'm going to stick it to the first couple of inches of my bangs and just let it sit just like that. These top sections are going to be a little bit more straight, but i want them to come like a curtain over my head, so just the top few inches and then hold it straight. Okay. That should be good. If i can see, okay - and you just see how, like my hair now comes down, i'm gon na redirect the curls and do that, but i do like it to be very much of a curtain by my eyes. Okay, now i am going to flip the flat iron this way and i'm going to start twisting right by my eye just like this, so that the curl is right here, this side i don't have to flip over because i am right-handed, so i can. I can adjust exactly where i want it there we go looser curl in the front. I'M gon na do two or three sections of this, and i pull my hair forward to get a different type of curl when i lay it down so that it does. You know come forward and then move back. We are going to the 70s with these curtain bangs. Now i'm going to add a curl forward towards my face. Do one more away from my face on this side. There we go. I just want that front section to be gathered together and then we will go towards the face now, like i say all the time about volume, if your hair does not have a lot of volume or your hair doesn't hold a ton of curl t's before you Curl, your top sections, and that way you can tease and then your teaser is already there and then you curl your hair, so that your tees is at the root and you don't have to touch the curls. Also, don't touch your curls until they are at room temperature if your hair does not hold a curl very well. Now that my hair is like this, i'm going to take some texture spray. I like using surfer girl from big sexy hair. It'S just pure texture spray. They also have one called high tide and that one is like a hairspray texture spray. So i just do these all under the top sections. It adds a lot of grit to your hair and then i go in with a teasing comb and just lightly tease. Now, if your hair does not like to be teased, pull up small sections and really focus that tease down to the root and then brush up and then you'll get tons of tees and then you can, you know brush it out and help lay it down. Then we're going to spray, i use the aveda control force, hairspray, it is a higher hold hairspray and then i just let it dry and then i run my fingers through it, but there we go, there's that if you also wanted to flip your hair, if you Wanted a side part just: do it just get that side part going there, you go side, part done anyways. This is how i curl my hair with a straightener, easy peasy all right. So this is how i curl my hair with a straightener super easy. I hope i showed you some little tips and tricks that i've learned along the way to make it easier and also remember you just have a couple days left to use that code chloe 50 before it expires. So if you are looking to get a flat iron or anything on their website, you're more than welcome to use my code chloe 50.. Alright, thank you guys so much for watching.
