Hi, I'm Alan David, and this is how you do highlights on very short hair. The only way I know how to do it properly is with a cap and, as you can see, Jeff's hair is very short and there's no way. I could do it with foil. The only way I know how to do it and make it look good is with a cap and using a very small number, 14 crochet hook. First of all, I'm using a clear cap that I can see right through it fits very tight to his head and I can see right where I want the highlights, and so I can place them perfectly where I want them. Another important thing: don't move the cap after you pull the highlights through because it'll pull your highlights out of the holes and especially don't move the cap after you've applied your color or your highlight color, because it'll pull the color inside the cap. So the only thing the only thing to be aware of is not moving the cap after the colors on
