In this video I'm going to share four hairstyles with you that I like to wear during dance rehearsals. It's extra important for dancers to know the hair is securely tied away and won't get in the way of your routine: these are some styles I've found work great for me. They are practical and pretty: the perfect combo :)

Hey guys so, as you may or may not know, I dance, I have been doing a strain of jazz dance that is very heavily influenced by classical ballet for pretty much all my life. We just refer to it as jazz ballet over here. Nothing even remotely professional antal, it's just purely for fun, but yeah. I do this once weekly every single week and there are some kind of things to look out for in hairstyles when you're you know about to dance, I feel like dancing. Hairstyles have to be a little bit different than your kind of regular, just gym, hair or kind of like standard workout hairstyles, because, for example, I can't really spend wearing a ponytail when I'm dancing, especially a high or kind of like a mid ponytail one, because it Will hit you in the face? Sooner or later I find myself having to make like these. Extra movements are gon na flip back a ponytail, and it's just no good. When you're trying to dance with the whole body has to be involved, including your head plus. It'S no good either if a hairstyle is kind of out of balance or is like a huge lump of weight in a weird place in your head. So over the years I have developed some hairstyles that really work for me that last, through kind of like an hour and a half two hours of dancing that are secure, that are kind of like evenly distributed over the head and that won't swing and take you In the face I'm going to share four with you today, so let's get started with the first one right, oh wait! So for the first one I'm going to turn around here, take the top section of my hair I'll just brush this back all right. So then, I'm going to start French braiding this. So I'm going to divide my hair into three sections, I'm going to braid over and over again and I'm going to add a little bit of extra hair from the side here to my outer section: braid it over. Do the same thing on this side, add a little bit of extra hair to the outer section, write it over alright, so I'm going to keep doing that all the way down my head all right now, when all the hair is incorporated, I am going to just Finish this braid, like a regular, simple English braid all the way down, I'm going to tie this off with a hair elastic and then what I'm going to do is take a spray and I'm going to kind of roll it up like that or now just you Know five-fold have roll it and the trick is to tuck it into the bottom of this French braid that I have here like that and then I'm going to secure this with some bobby pins. So you just want to stick them kind of into the braid from the sides, just wherever you feel that you have inserted the braid, it's very once you secure it with bobby pins, so I'm not just on the bottom, make sure you get the size as well As well as the ball, of course, now, of course, I have bangs, and I personally cannot really stand having them down when I'm dancing. I know some people do like for a couple. My dancing future has bangs as one she just has them down with they're a little bit shorter than mine, and I have these and wings like this. That just cover my eyes and it's so annoying. So I do choose to clip my bangs to decide and also to kind of prevent them from getting super sweaty and just gross, so I will give them according to the hair, slime worried right now. I have a little bit of a sensor party going on. So in that case, I usually just split my bangs down the center as well and use two bobby pins to just click. My legs to the sides come on on the other side, and that way they don't bother me when I'm dancing. So here is the first hairstyle will finished. It is a very kind of I feel like elegance and quite pretty hairstyle, but it is so Security's completely compact. There'S nothing sticking out anywhere. You can even do like rolling and floor stuff with this and yeah. I feel like this is absolutely perfect. So, let's move on to the next hairstyle now the next hairstyle is a classic on this channel. Do you let me know in the comments if you've been following me since the soft bun days, but yes, it is a stuck, but I feel like a suck. One is absolutely perfect for dancing. It is secure. It is nicely tucked away on top off your head. So getting a rolling and everything everything's fine, so I'm gon na start by putting my hair into a high ponytail right and let's up with my head there, so I'm just gon na put poor words, always a little bit easier to do this way brush. All of my hair and tie on to a ponytail all right, so I'm gon na deal with the banks later, but let's start with the sock bun. So I'm gon na use a an old cut up roll up sock, as I haven't been for years on my channel, but you can use a hair dye or whatever you prefer to use, and I am going to use my soft bun method of course. So let me just demonstrate again: I'm gon na just set this up around my ponytail and I'm going to wrap the ends of my ponytail around the donut. So I'm just poking those through a couple of times. Sorry, if I'm squinting right now and I'm gon na start rolling the donut to worse my head well kind of simultaneously spreading the hair around the soaked donut. So then it starts to form a nice bun, so just rolling towards my ponytail and there you have it perfect little fun. So when I'm just wearing this out, I this is enough, but what I am going to actually dance with it. I do like to secure it with a few bobby pins just so that it doesn't come loose. So I just stick a bobby pin into the bun like that. First and I push it down against my scalp and then I just kind of push it in from there and I feel like that's, not the most secure way to do this so into the bump. First, then, down against my skull, pushing it in, and I feel like about four pins are enough for me, but my hair is pretty thin, so you may need more, depending on your hair, texture and type. Definitely one of my favorites and for my bangs in this case, since my hair is just so pull up, I just very simply twist them like this. It'S not the most charming thing to do with banks, but I mean it's all about being functional really when it comes to dancing hairstyles, so I just bring them away like this and it stays so there is hair cell number. Two really simple, really great. To do. Super secure and really cute as well, so the next hairstyle is one that I will only attempt if I'm not running late, because it is a little bit more time-consuming but really cute. So for this one, I'm going to split my hair down the center all the way to the back, so that I have two Hoff's and I'm going to clip once these sides away for now, so it doesn't get in the way. Just using like these little Clips, then on the side that I'm working on, I am going to start about your braiding, my hair, and because I'm starting all the way the front here, I can just incorporate my bangs into this straightaway, which is quite convenient. I don't need an extra bobby pin, there's no chance of them popping out and it just feels really secure as well. So I'm gon na separate my hair into three and start braiding. Under this time, I supposed to override it with the first hairstyle so going under and under, and then I'm gon na start, adding a little bit of hair, so more hair to this side bring it under her hair. On this side, I'm going to continue like this. All the way down until I reach the Mayo Clinic all right. So when I added the last bit of hair, I am just going to tie this with a hair elastic. I do the same thing with the other side, so I'm gon na start again right here. In the front and make my break alright so now I have two braids and two ponytails and I am going to bundys. I am just going to twist these so that there are a little bit more compact, bring them over to the other side and then start pinning I'm just using some bobby pins to hold this down so that I'm gon na. Take this a little further insert more pins, and I'm just gon na finish. My bun, like that tuck the ends away underneath and bend this with. However, many pins, I feel like I need to make this nice and secure, so this is one that I feel is very practical, but very pretty as well. I have worn this to performances before and it is just a really nice, cuff yeah dancing her style. I think it takes a little bit more time. It looks from the cues, so the next hairstyle is great if you don't like wearing hearing her up, but you still wanted to be out of the way and kind of minimize the risk of it hitting your face. So it is going to be a ponytail and I'm gon na start by tying all of my hair into a ponytail. But the trick is to make a very low ponytail, because when your bunny tail is low, it won't end up in front of your head as much so. You know in your face when you do go for a ponytail I'd, say the lower the better I'm going to go for all the way in the nape of my neck. As you can see, a low ponytail has the least risk of kind of you know. Moving around and hitting you so I feel like this is acceptable. If I don't want to wear my hair up, but something I do like to do to minimize the open, we think even more is to make a little bubble, bunny tail or bubble braid. However, you prefer to call it so I have my pony tail here and I will take another hair elastic and tie it around bunny tail a little bit lower. Then toggle this a little bit to create a little bubble and then take another little hair elastic. Give you the same things, so it's all your not according to a little bit lower, make a little bubble and then, let's just do one more so for my bangs again with this one, I probably go for a sensor parting and just clip them to the sides. There is your little bubble brain now. This is not my personal preference, but I can imagine you know some people don't like to burn the hair up or, as is a great one, if your hair is maybe a little bit shorter than mine. So those are my four recommended Benson hair styles, so I really hope you enjoyed this video guys if you didn't enjoy it, don't forget to give a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for loads, more hair tutorials. If you'd like to support me on patreon, I will have a you: can you description what's below? Thank you so much. There will be a video here that you might also enjoy you can go which next thank you for watching, and I will see you very soon in my next video bye.

ᅳ zen: I hate when my hair falls back down when I'm trying to do a certain moves. Definitely doing the buns. Thank you.

Marie: honestly thank you all the hairstyles ive been seeing is "and yeah it'll look super cute in the gym!" while i just sit there thinking *"thats not gonna last a minute"*

Superherostella: Nice! I practice martial arts myself, and the flopping ponytail struggle is too real :') I usually wear my hair in a braid or I make a middle ponytail that I only pull partially through the elastic on the last go, that also helps a lot with reducing floppy hair!

Larush: Love it, especially the first one- Pretty easy and practical! My dancing partner always complains about me waving my ponytail in his face:D I'm going to try it soon! Thank you

[sugapawzz]: Thank you this was so helpful! I start tap today and I needed a cute, easy, and comfortable hairstyle, I came to the right place!

Ithil: They're gorgeous! And very practical for work as well, yeah I do like my hair out of my face when I'm working so definitely will try a couple of them. Thanks!

mce1939: Always love your sock bun method! I use it all the time. Love seeing you without bangs! So pretty

Wingedshadowwolf: I just recently found and watched your sock bun videos last weekend! I found that wrapping a floral headband loosely around the base of the bun looks great!

Jette: SO helpful, thanks! Dancing hairstyles are definitely a whole other category! I do partner dancing, so I also need to make sure my hair doesn't hit the person I am dancing with while I make turns haha :D

Rebecca Giovanini: Yes! I’m so excited to try these on my stepdaughter for her ballet class. I’ve been at a loss, since she has really thin, fine hair and the usual hairstyles I do on myself don’t work as well for her.

Sara Jorge: I remember being a freshman at uni (about 5/6 years ago) and my mom thinking I was crazy for ruining a good pair of socks to make a sock bun! I didn't realise I had been subscribed for so long!

CC-Cupcake94: I keep going back to this one all the time! Love these styles or nursing and when I’m at Irish dance practice!

Leslie Johnson: Sock buns are classic! I wear my hair in all these styles but the pony tail. As a ballet dancer and teacher, I like to have a variety of styles in which to wear my hair.

Birdsoncables: I had no idea you danced! I danced when I was younger and I’ve thought about getting back into it. However, I’m in my 20s now and I’m worried it may be too late. I’d love to see more videos discussing your experiences in dance!

Regina Nathania: Definitely would go for the last one, easy and cute✨

Aurora Read: Thank you for this video of actual practical hairstyles that should withstand a lot of head movement!

Martha Kalantzi: I remember I did the sock bun hairstyle at the gym once, and naturally it fell at some point (my hair is thick, curly and heavy), so I placed my donut next to me while I was working out.. So the trainer asked me ''Is that a dish sponge? Are you such an avid househeeper?''.. It was kinda embarrassing but also hilarious :D

AmberJames: Your hair videos make me feel excited to grow my hair out again!

Andy StPierre: I love how you make it not so perfect... some of the hair tutorials I watch braid with almost the same amont of hair almost counting them but honestly who has time!!! I don’t dance or go to the gym but I work as a nurse and I can’t stand having my hair in my way so I’ll definitely try the 1 and 3 (and since I watch you for a time now I have try the sock bun heheheh) and the braid bobble will be perfect for horse riding (can’t wear my hair up or with a lot of bobby pins since I wear a helmet!!!!!)

Raparaz: These have been fantastic for me as just nicer ways to have my hair up in the brutal summers my area has. The 1st style with a dress and heels is a downright updo.

Kelly Jackson: you are a lifesaver! they are super secure and really cute, the first 2 are my new go-to for dance

Emma Kohlenberg: Such cute hairstyles for dance class that are different from just a ballet bun or a ponytail

Surreal Lane: Thank you! It's embarrassing that my hair keeps falling out. It's so slippery and it doesn't matter how tight I tie it.

Sh K: Love your hair Tried the first one....turned out lovely

SpazyAzy's Art: I love them I will have to wear them when I go to the gym!

TheChrizine: My favourite style for any kind of physical activity are the interlaced braids you've posted ages ago. I think I found your channel through them, since I saw torrinpaige's version of it and she linked back to you. The double dutch style you showed here goes in a similar direction, have you tried the interlaced braids for dancing? Only thing I do differently, I don't pin the ends of the braids to the sides, I join them in the middle with a hairtie and tuck the end behind the interlaced part. Super secure and zero chance of pins falling out or poking the head, I even sleep in the style and wear it for multiple days.

Tamara Morton: It’s been a little while since I’ve seen you and your hair has grown so much! Mine has too but not nearly as much as yours. It was nice to see you again. I’ll check out a few more of your videos right now.

Eryn E: I love your videos so much and the hairstyles are gorgeous as always. Much love from Canada

myrto m: This was so helpful

Selene László: Jazz Ballet is often called Lyrical. When I did dance competitions, lyrical was easily the biggest category to enter. It was also always the hardest to place well because of how many people you were competing against. I'm glad I only competed in the ballet category, Lovely hairstyles!

cutie bybel: I'm going to the gym right now THIS WAS SO HELPFULL thank u Btw u're so pretty

Jo.K.: I took jazz ballet lessons for a year in the early 1980s when I was a little girl. Nothing serious, just fun. I didn't know that jazz ballet was still taught!:)

GenerationYUI: Your hair looks great in any style ☆

Ashley Miranda: I love these!!! I'll try the second tonight

Hitomi Reiki: I am a Physical therapy trainee and sometimes long hair does get in the way when I'm working. So I just put it on a ponytail most of the time but stray hairs really get in the way.

Jessica Presley: I have to say, you are one of my favorite Youtubers. You don't seem fake, your a sweetheart, you have a cute accent, you love history, the list goes on.... (This is a no homo comment) lol

Makeup Boss: My mother’s a dance instructor and she usually pulls her hair into a braided bun or a French braid.

Anna: I'd love to see your take on a faux mohawk multiple bun style.

Shweta Doshi: Your sock bun video was the 1st video i watched on youtube and ur channel was the 1st i subscribed to. Loving it since. ❤❤

Sailorskinlefay: This is so useful, thank you! Now I just need to learn how to deal with the wind

ノエリ: I'd love to see a dance video of yours!

Ann Barwick: Thank you so much for these!!!

sea bunny: That last style is so pretty! I wish I was better at French/Dutch braiding. :(

becca moses: i also feel like for dance i spend so much time seeing myself in that big mirror that if i don’t feel cute/elegant/hot/whatever (depending on the vibe) i don’t dance as well lol

melana-milene: Beautiful!!! :)

Miss Caféine: Aw I would love to go to dance classes sometime :')

Carolina Rodrigues: Oh my, has it been that long since the sock bun era?! I’m getting old! Hahahah Still use it till today tho

Hilary Grace: Holding your arms up long enough to do your hair is the workout

Susana Santos: I've been year since sock bun day's :) thank you for being so lovely

Agnes N: Yesssss, the sockbun! :) That video with the Eluveitie t-shirt. The moment I fell in love with you xD

DieBacille: I do a lot of dancing, and I always end up with the most boring bun in my hair because its just to long and thick to do anything else. Thats maximum annoying seriously :D

Tatiana Kováčová: Ja by som rada aspoň jedno video o tebe v slovenčine

Catherine Chunn: I love the double dutch braid one! How many bobby pins do you have to use to get your bun secure? I feel like no matter how many bobby pins I use, my buns will always fall apart

VV: I found you through the sock bun video ages ago and I've loved you ever since:)

María José Mondragón: your sweter is soooo cute * ! ...thanks for the hairstyles, very helpful :)

Comfort Keto: Technically a new subscriber on this account but i watched you do the sock bun way back under an old account i had

Aanchal Saxena: what should we do to our hair before going to bed???? pls make video for it

Gills Clark: Love the video but have a random side question. I was watching one of your older videos and I love the music in them, I think you mentioned that your father was the one who was playing in them. Is there a CD or anything similar that I could buy of music like that?

Amanda Overcash: I remember sock buns. Not sure how long ago that was. I think I found you through Torrin Paige or maybe the long hair loom community? Not sure. Anyway, still love your videos.

BigRobEnergy: This vid was legit! Keep it goin, you have my support. I just subbed, peace!

Devinder Singh: Amazing I just love it

𝒟𝒾𝒶𝓃𝒶 𝒞𝒶𝓇𝓈ℴ𝓃: 1st step : Have silky hairs like yours. Me : Failed at first step

лунита: Your hair is so silky, must always come out of its hairstyle so it can't be easy to find styles that stick for workouts. Thanks for these.. I was thinking of just chopping it all off..a nice easy pixie cut.. but am gonna try these first ^^'.

Madeline Brobst: I just have to tell you that with hair that long you would NEVER need a sock to do your bun - just twist it!!

Chara Ayars: could you give some tips on how to remove more complicated hairstyles? The sock bun does look really secure, but is it hard to remove? I know sometimes I do side twists that I twist all the way to the ends, then I wrap it around my head and pin them on the opposite side, and the back looks a little like a gibson roll. It's really pretty, but when I take it out, it has that twisty thing going on, that makes it really hard to brush out, without creating really bad snarls. With some of the more complicated hairstyles you have done, what have you learned for taking them down??

Ali A: omg! I used to watch you years ago and just got recommend a video of yours from someone else's video! wild wow. love u hope you're doing well

Amisha Manohar: Just amazing

Paris Texas: Why bobby pins keep falling from my hair?? Could you please explain how you exactly use them? Even in a bun I can't make them stay... >_<

çĥöçĥí ŧå: So cuuuute thanx

Nicole B: *raises hand* I've been here since the sock bun days :') Been a long good time so far haha

mischieved: Dance Vlog pretty please!!

sousou moumou: Wow very beautiful love you from Algeria

Alan walker: التسريحه حلوه تخبل

Taylor Daniels: Is it easy to hide your bangs with any hair style? I want them but I’m nervous I won’t like them.

sanam Khan: You are so cute.. alot of love from Pakistan❤❤

Joyce Silva: Love❤ Brazil ✌

madelief VDH: meid ik kijk je al vet lang en kom en nu pas achter dat je Nederlands bent hihihi <3

Olivia Wood: do a dance video

pay1370: Omg yes the ponytail nightmares

Bishakha Barua: you look like Mehrima.. I mean you look like Pelin karahan

Chara Ayars: do you use mostly bobby pins? I have about 40 inch hair, and I have alternated between bobby pins, hair pins, spin pins etc. Also, I have found that modern bobby pins seem really flimsy... at least most of the ones I can find! lol do you just use drugstore quality ones, or do you or have a source for really sturdy ones?

I'm Justin seagull: pelin karahan is that you?! Omg you look like her more than she does

liliana cristelle: That moment when you dont have bobby pins

UMER PLAYS YT: Nice look

Karen Kececi: If it only last 1 or 2 hours thats bad because on Saturday I do 5 hours of dancing

Israa khlaf alshraa ALSHAREA: Very nice

riceivore : i can braid but i cannot braid my hair. like how?

Rukhsana Ansari: She looks like Dakota Johnson, doesn't she?

Mithlesh Punia: hlo pls tell us how to fair the skin under armpits ? pls pls reply

رقية رافد كريم: وااااااو تخبل تجنن
