Spring is all about freshness, so make sense that you want your hair to have a fresh new look to whether you want to update the color or the style now's the perfect time to change your look. Carrie abberline is with hair essence. Aveda salon in Sioux Falls. She'S here to share some of the twenty nineteen color haircut and hair accessory trends, she's also brought along a couple of models to show us some of the newest looks thanks for coming in today. Yeah. Thank you. Now we're gon na get to those models, but first what would you say is the most popular trend for 2019. We are seeing a lot of assessories and the hair color is very almost different, going in a different direction than what we have been having with the balayage and ombre, and all that now we're leaning more towards solid colors, not as white blond, but we're going more Creamy blonde more golden blondes, yeah, there's fun stuff out there that better new this year, I feel like so for those people. I know you said that were kind of going away to solve solid colors, but for people who don't maybe know those terms, what is a balayage? So a balayage is when you might have darker roots, and then it goes down towards a blonde at your ends or a lighter color than what your roots would be, and that trend is going out. It is starting to go out yes saying it because for us who went our roots grow out, it was okay to do that. Yeah, because that's going out now we're gon na have to stay up on top of it yeah. So what colors are you seeing? A lot for 2019 we're seeing a lot of black Browns full head Brown full head black creamy blond, which or a buttery blonde they're, calling it more of a golden colors, not so white, as it has been these past few years. If you're going wider, they, the big trend, is still silver, the that grayish, so the grace over yep the lighter, so how about cuts haircuts this year we have the grown out pixie, which is just a little bit longer version of the pixie. Let'S bring our first model out since she's modeling this today, an explainer color yeah before we get into the haircut, so her color is bleached, and then we have a toner on it of the silver. That'S really hot. This season. We are seeing a lot of accessories. So we have this bobby pins, which are back in style, and you really want them to show like you want to show the whole bobby pin, not hide them like in the past, where we put her hair up and we just kind of hide them. And then, if you want to turn Melissa a little bit longer grown out, a pixie normally would be a little bit shorter and then we have an undercut on her as well in the back, so that shaved part. I love that. Thank you very much for coming. Okay, so let's talk a little bit more now about the cuts, because before we were seeing a lot of people with really long, hair and extensions were big. Are we still seeing that? I have not seen a lot of extensions, I'm seeing a lot of bobs, blunt bobs, a route and chin length and the style with that would be to have bangs as well. Sayings are back, bangs are back, so you could have really short bangs baby bangs with them with the bob. You could do like an eyebrow length, bang or the big thing, the season, as well as curtain, bangs, okay, which are at longer bangs. That kind of fade down into your hair and they split, but this is all my broken hair. It would be if you do that if you parted it in the middle and they were a little bit shorter, okay, yeah, because my hair, it just kind of breaks off, so I kind of naturally have it yeah. Okay, let's bring in the second model now and explain the look that we have going here Laura and she has wavy hair. We just curled it today. Cuz that still is in also really in is straight. Okay, at least straight is back in as well, and we were doing the bobby pin thing with her again on this side here, just some pretty decorative little bobby pins and then her color is more towards the dark side and not you know so highlighted anymore in Mid length, hair yeah, mid lane, so you're really using those bobby pins. That seems like to kind of pull if we had bangs, that's where they would be, but to pull that hair back is that bobby pins are being used for yeah there. We were just for style, okay, just it not even Punk nowaday, I think just for looks. Okay, yep and people are taking their regular old, plain old, bobby pins and sticking them in on the side and criss crossing them to make a pattern. Just funky interesting, the better or the prettier, the better, a lot of pearl, barrettes and jewelery or hair. You know: hair jewelry, bobby pins, those kind of things so all right. Well, thank you, okay, so we have some more accessories right here in front of us and I'm a big fan of this before they even became popular. I love them, but let's talk about the scrunchies yeah. So if you go in any store right now or see anybody whether they are 20s 30s, six years old, they probably have scrunchies again. The scrunchies we have here are this: one is probably a little bit newer. This season, with the bow bows, are really in as well as taking more like a scarf and tying it around your ponytail and letting that big long Bowl kind of just hang over there. I love that we have some more bobby pins and barrettes. Yes, barrettes bows are big and you could put those in with your ponytail or with your top knot and once again just sliding those bobby pins in wherever make it cute and then pins high bands are very hot. Yes, so we have very decorated headbands, as well as almost like a turban style, headband and they're really hot this season. They look really cute on and they just you know, wear them anyway. So yeah now you mentioned when we were talking about the bobby pins and the bows for Brett's that you can use this with your top knot, so explain your hairdo and how this is in and how to create this look yeah. So what I did was, I just put a little ponytail at the the top of my crown there and did pulled it out a little bit just so it would be a little bit messy looking then I just kind of wrapped my ponytail around it and stuck In some bobby pins and kind of the Messier, the better - and it's not really about half-up half-down, it's just kind of this, just kind of the top crown section I like it. Thank you a lot all right. Well, thank you! So much for coming in and getting us all up to speed on what trends we should be doing for 2019.
