-I'M the most fearful today about hoping that the red goes with my skin complexion and choosing the right outfits from here on out'cause. You can't wear everything with red. Hi, I'm Tasha Carter and today I'm getting red hair. Growing up my mom she'd. Always let me do my own hair.. She always wanted to be a hair stylist but couldn't.. So I've done just about every color of the rainbow from pink to blue orange everything., And then I went brunette. And now I'm blond and I'm ready to go red.. My roots keep growing. Like every four weeks. I need a touch-up and as a hair stylist, we don't have a ton of time for ourself., So as much as red's. Still a little high maintenance it'll be easier to maintain.. I do trust that the stylists are gon na. Do a great job. Going from blond to red, isn't as easy as just putting red on top.. So it could be really tough and I want it to look natural. -Hi, I'm Kat Samson and I specialize in color at Mèche, salon. -Hi, I'm Beau Stone and I work at Mèche Salon in Beverly Hills California.. I specialize in cutting color and extensions. -I love doing redheads.. I also do blonds and brunets.. I love to do natural. Pretty hair. Working as a colorist is really awesome, because somebody can come in your chair and they're in an awful mood and they'll leave feeling like their soul, has like they had a makeover.. Today, I'm gon na take Natasha from platinum blond to a beautiful, copper redhead.. -I wouldn't say I'm most known for my blowouts and a lot of cutting and just styling in general. On Tasha. Today, I really would like to take her breakage and make it into a look. -Hi Tasha., I'm Kat., I'm gon na be coloring your hair.. This is Beau. -Hi Tasha. Nice to meet you. -Nice to meet you both. -So. What are we doing today, -I'm looking to do a total red transformation. With the cut, I have quite a bit of breakage from being blond, so if we could make that cohesive. -I think it'd be really nice to add some new shaping around the face and really Show off the depth to the new color., We'll see you on the other side as a new woman. -All right., Let's get started. ♪♪. First, I'm gon na put in the lowlights.. I'M gon na use two different colors., I'm going to use a darker color at the top and a lighter color on the bottom.. So it's a nice color melt to create some dimension. ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ And then I'm gon na do her base in between.. I'M gon na make it a pretty gold, copper. ♪♪, I'm gon na. Let that process for about 30 minutes. ♪♪. I'M gon na take her to the bowl. I'm gon na rinse, the lowlights separately, so the color doesn't get on the ends and then I'll rinse. The base out until the water runs clear. And then I'm gon na apply a pretty gold, copper gloss. ♪♪, Leave that on for 20 minutes until that processes. Rinse it out. ♪♪, And then I'm gon na blow dry, her., ♪♪ And then I'll add highlights to create Even more dimension. ♪♪, Then I'll take her to the bowl. I'll regloss to make sure that the color really sticks. ♪♪ ♪♪, Wait for that to process. And then I'll shampoo condition and give her to Beau. ♪♪ -When working with the hair. I usually like to start with the strong foundation of the length and then move into where the shape needs to be. A lot of times when clients come to me with broken brittle blond, it's best to see the hair dry and really see what shape is missing And where the breakage begins. ♪♪ From there, I will go ahead and start with the bangs.. I will shape them into the curtain that best frames her face. ♪♪, ♪♪ Oftentimes. I restyle the bangs multiple times. So that way I can go in and either shorten it or add more texture to what will best frame the face. And now Kat and I will go ahead and turn her around for the big reveal., All right, open your eyes. -Voila -Oh, my God. [ Laughter, ], This is amazing. -You look great as a redhead. -Thank you guys. ♪♪. I love my new hair.. It looks amazing., I feel so much more confident.. It was the change that I needed. -Seeing Natasha's reaction in the mirror was awesome.. I knew it was gon na. Look perfect on her and I think that she should have been a redhead. This entire time. -Getting, to see Natasha's reaction is one of the best parts about being a hairdresser getting to see the transformation and how that really changes. A person's outlook on themself. -Working with Kate and Beau was so much fun. They're, both super talented.. The process was great'cause. They explained everything that was going on.. It made me feel super confident in their chair. As a hair stylist, I was super impressed with the transformation.. I feel like, even though I kind of know already what the process is. I still learned so much from them and the way that they work. - And I can take that too into the way I work and make it my own. -Working with Natasha was really cool.. It'S really fun to do a stylist too. You get to talk about color the process of it.. We get to like pick each other's brains. -As of right. Now, I'm pretty sure, I'm gon na keep this look for a long time.. My hair feels super healthy. I feel like it looks healthy and I love how rich that it looks. -Taking care of red hair is definitely a little bit more of a process.. You definitely want to make sure that you're keeping up with the glosses. -With Tasha's hair and the breakage from all of the blond she's a client that I would highly recommend come in every six to eight weeks.. Most women invest very much in their skin-care routines and all of their makeup.. Yet hair is the one thing that everybody wears every day., So I think it's a bigger piece of your confidence than what your face. Does. ♪♪ -This, look definitely makes me feel more bold and fiery. Just like I wanted.. I do wish looking back that I made this change sooner, but I'm just so happy to have it now.. ww2001: Considering how quickly red fades, I would have expected a much brighter and more intense immediate result with the goal of it fading to the color shown after several shampoos. This will most likely fade to a blah color rather quickly.

E Taylor: I agree the red looks better on her than the blonde. The issue is that the color is perfect from the second she leaves the salon. That means that after she washes it a few times, it will fade to a strawberry blonde color pretty quickly. If you're dying your hair red from blonde, you want a dark dark auburn red, because then it will fade to the perfect copper red shade that you find in this video. Tasha's hair is Instagram ready, but realistically if every time she goes to the salon and gets it dyed that copper shade, she will find herself having to go to the salon every month.
