-The thing I'm the most fearful of is, I haven't seen people with these different hairstyles who look like me with the same skin tone as me, but I'm super excited for this.. I saw this look done on Hailey Bieber and I absolutely loved it. Hey., I'm Mina Nadine. And today I'm getting a Hailey Bieber-inspired look.. I really wanted to do something new with my hair, especially since I just turned 30 years old.. I wanted to feel like a new woman.. It'S a new chapter of my life. And I've been wanting to go blond for a while., But I came across a photo of Hailey Bieber and it was so beautiful.. Her hair was perfectly blended with these ashy-blond highlights. And I was like ``. I want that.'' The very first time I did anything to my hair was before prom in 2009 and I got caramel highlights, but then I never got them again because they were so hard to maintain.. So I would go red all the time. During the pandemic. I even tried box dyes, and that was a total disaster, because my hair would not pick it up. And I felt like I kept damaging my hair again and again.. So I'm so excited that today I am getting my hair done by the same exact colorist. Who did Hailey Bieber's hair. -Hi guys., My name's Cassondra Kaeding., And I'm a colorist based in L.A.? I specialize in a lot of different colors. Color corrections. Color changes, simple color everything.. Well, today, we're gon na take Mina from a box color dye from basically red to a Hailey Bieber-inspired hair color., And I just want to make sure that you guys know that this hair color will look very different on every person. So you want to make sure that you know that you have the right skin tone and the color to get this process. Hi. My name's Cassondra. -Hi. -So nice to meet you. -I'm Mina. Nice to meet you. -Nice to meet you as well.. What are we doing today -I think it would be really awesome if we could do a bunch of highlights throughout my hair something to really lighten and lift it and something that will also accentuate my skin tone. -Well. I think it'll be fantastic. -And I trust the process. -Oh. You know what I got you.. This will be fantastic. So day one she has her natural root.. I saw that she has a box color on her mids to ends., So I just want every person every client to know that red is the hardest color to keep and the hardest color to get out.. So what I decided to do was go in and remove the color., So you're gon na go in at just the roots.. You apply it to the roots and regrow. ♪♪. Once you get the roots to a desired color you're gon na start pulling it through the ends. You're gon na rinse. ♪♪. So once that's done, you're gon na saturate the mids and ends again just to make sure that it's light enough and it's the desired color. That you need. And then after that I saw the red, wasn't budging.. As we know, red is the hardest color to keep and the worst color to get out.. But as a professional I had to like, stop and be like ,'', Let's separate this.. Let'S do it in two sittings: instead of one.'' We're like ``, Okay, she's gon na be a redhead for a few days.'' -I. Never in a million years thought that I could pull off strawberry blond hair and it feels like I had a fun little alter ego for a week.. -Day two is here.. The palette is clean., It's very even from roots to ends which is fantastic., So you want to make sure that you apply from roots to mids. ♪♪, Make sure that you saturate really well. And then what you're gon na do is you're gon na add a little More water put your hand through it and then let it run through and rinse. ♪♪. We wanted to make sure that there were some beautiful, like face-frame pieces., Take a really thin layer around -- from the part all the way to the ear and then brighten it up add some highlights all the way through the same side. You're gon na mimic from Left to right., So what I decided to do is balayage pieces and then put a soft layer of Saran which is color-safe.. It'S gon na be a really even saturation and heat.. What you see is what you get. ♪♪, So you're gon na see --. Oh, my gosh., It's lifting from roots to mids to ends that awesome transition of color., ♪♪ And now time for the reveal.. Here we go -Ooh, Oh ..., my God.. This is seriously so beautiful. ♪♪ See I feel like right now, I'm like processing it. So I'm not saying anything.. This is seriously so pretty. -And it's healthy., -Yeah. -That's, the most important part. -That was my biggest fear going into this.. I'M like ``. I already messed up my hair with box dye.. Is this the point of no return ?'', But you brought my hair back to life. -So. Your regrowth is gon na, be a lot softer than if you were trying to be a blonde. -I feel so incredible.. When I saw the final result, I was like ``. I love this.'' Like this is really cool.. What I really love about this new hair is the fact that it is new.. I feel like what I really wanted. Turning 30 was to embrace a new chapter of my life and to have something that felt new and refreshing. At first, I thought that I wanted to go blond and when I thought about it, I was like ,'' That might be a little bit too extreme.''. So this was the perfect balance of doing a change that was drastic enough to make a difference in the way that I perceive my outward appearance, but also, I felt like it's something that I can definitely maintain.. -Mina has been so fantastic.. She literally just sat here with us for hours, making sure that we make the appropriate transition to get her. The hair color that she wants. -Working with Cassondra was incredible because I just feel like she's so knowledgeable in her craft. And I felt like when she was doing everything she was incredibly meticulous and she knew when to stop and say, ``. Okay, let's divide this up into two sessions: now. We've done enough for the day.'' And I really appreciated that about her because she was never in a rush and she really took her time with it and did such incredible work. -It's so exciting to see a transformation To be able to turn someone around and look at their face and see how excited and happy they are about how they feel and how they look.. That'S the best part of my job. -Thanks for watching'' Refinery29.'' To watch more videos, click here ... and to subscribe click here.

Humble Bee: This isn’t even what she asked for...

Christy Anne: This was less about her hair inspiration and most of the stylist just fixing her hair.

Alex Sudati: I'll explain what happened here: 1st - She used hair dye to lift her root so the contrast between the highlights and the base color weren't too harsh. (I wouldn't do that, instead I'd work with the base color as is, since it's already a beautiful color. The client now has to redo her roots often i.e. spend more money.) 2nd - She tried to remove the red box dye with bleach while sitting on the shampoo bowl. (Nice try, but that doesn't remove a ton of pigment, only damages the hair.) 3rd - Having failed the removal of color, she now decided to bleach her ENTIRE HEAD so she has an even base to work with (???).(More on that later.) 4th - Now, after the client has spent a week with a yellow blonde hair she didn't want, she decides to darken her hair so she can do some highlights... (Like, wtf? Why make the client go home with that color if you're gonna darken it anyway? Darkening the hair doesn't damage it, it's just a demi or semi permanent color. Could've done it the same day she bleached it.) 5th - And finally, she does some babylights here and there and some balayage throughout the head. (Barely noticeable, only damaged the hair even more. Also she uses Redken, awesome brand but their toners always makes the hair go to a brownish tone.) About the 3rd step: Here is where my biggest issue is. I've seen a ton of hairstylists "specialized" in color doing this. You DON'T NEED to do this, at all. What you need to do before anything is some area test. Grab some tiny portion of hair and bleach it, see how it can or cannot remove the box dye. Now, with that information, what I'd do is the balayage but going a bit higher than she wanted. Why? Because after the bleaching process (and treating it) I'd blow dry it and then tone the red part to match her roots. Since the red would be mixed with the blonde, I'd feather the dye down making some "reverse balayage", that would make the blonde part go down a bit which is ok because we made it higher beforehand. Then tone the blonde and BOOM. Done. In one sitting without the need to bleach her whole head and make her yellow for a week. If she thinks she's too blonde we just need to tone it down. The way she has it now it isn't what she wanted and she might still be wondering if she would look good blonder (Also it's still brownish red). If she wants to go lighter she'll need to do another balayage (the 3rd bleaching process btw).

Loona BEST: The stylist made some questionable decisions..why bleach the whole head when you’re gonna darken it next setting and THEN highlight?? 100+ DAMAGE

Indigo : I’d be pissed . I actually loved the strawberry blonde on her.

Sunethra: She blended it well to her skin tone! She could have honestly gone a bit lighter since going into that type of salon but as long as she is happy that is what counts!

Tamia Edrington: I don’t love this shade of brown but her hair looks healthy and she’s gorgeous regardless

Cademan Caden: She's way too pretty and vibrant for this blah hair.

Kristyle11: She’sbeautiful but the color is not giving what it supposed to have gave.

longtimestuklat: The stylist could’ve lifted the color a bit more and still keep it healthy. Her hair wasn’t overly damaged to begin with. It looked pretty healthy. There’s no blonde in that final color whatsoever. To me it looks like the stylist was in a hurry and just ended up rinsing the bleach too soon and then had to tone too dark to get rid of the brassiness. If it was a matter of not matching her skin tone why not let her decide that. I’m a stylist and when it comes to highlights I would rather err on the side of too light because it’s an easy fix to throw an extra toner if it’s too much for the client than take it on myself to tone it too dark and basically undo all my work of foiling.

Bby Bri: Some people have to realize that going from red to blonde is almost impossible if not a very long /months long process. Red is the hardest color to get out and I myself had bright red hair last year (naturally black) and I’m now starting to transition into a balayage like Haileys also. I started the red color removal process in May 2021 and now in September it’s barely starting to look somewhat blonde brown balayage. If you want your hair to stay healthy it’s going to take a long process. I know it seems like she didn’t get what she asked for but it’s the best she can do for now because it’s just going to take a while for her to achieve that result. :/

Kenzie S.: it’s better to do it in steps like this to keep the hair in tact. people are saying it could have been lighter but that could really compromise her hair and it’s not worth it. working with old box color is extremely difficult and hard to tackle so hopefully people will understand that. in my opinion this is the best outcome! she looks beautiful and the stylist truly took her time and did what was best for this color correction.

loveforeignaccents: She got ripped off... you could hardly notice any difference.

박진우: Where's the bleach there?! The title of the video should've been: I went from being a total box dye Redhead to a normal Brunette. I honestly didn't like it cuz it wasn't that drastically different from her Red box dyed hair yet this channel has got a knack on making clickbait-y titles.

RedHairedRiot: Chocolate brown. I almost get making the base all over one color but… If it was me doing the color correction, I would’ve done a global bleaching (yes, she has a lot of hair, but it would be the smartest, fastest, and most even way to do it) and then add a root smudge and blend it down into the blonde. I guarantee that’s what they did to Hailey Bieber—she had a bleach out that she didn’t want to maintain so often, so they added roots. Take out the color removal step and all these other steps that ended the client up with chocolate brown highlit hair. She asked to be BLONDE and she certainly is not. I REALLY don’t understand the making your client a blonde for a week just to dye her brown. After she was made blonde, you could’ve just added color back where you needed instead of doing baby lights. Or dyed her brown at the end of the first session, let that rest a week, and THEN do balayage on the brown base in the next appointment. Just a lot of confusing steps here.

Bradley DenHerder: I love seeing colorists set boundaries with clients!!!! Stunning work!!!

makattak: It looks lovely, but definitely not what she asked for. It looks like the stylist forgot what she was doing between appointments one and two

Ágata Falcão: I loveee the new hair! She is so beautiful and her smile is definitely one of the best things of her

Holly Scott: It looks nothing like what she asked for :(

Amy G: This is why I don’t trust people to do my hair

Brit JJ: Props to the stylist for dividing the session in two and caring about the hairs integrity! Final look is flawless ✨ Mina is soo beautiful and has incredible, thick healthy, strong hair! Even with the at home box dye sessions her hair looks unscathed... I know my hair could never

Bella Diaz: Im really sad for her because she did not get the hair she wanted. You couldve used olaplex and put some pretty honey blonde balage in her hair. But you did an amazing job nevertheless. Its just not a stylists job to tell someone they think they should try a different color. I dont believe a certain color for certain people. All colors anyone should be able to rock and if in the end they dont like it they can always try something new.

Lauren: It's not as blind because she was concerned about having it match her skin tone and later on in the video at around 5:35 the stylist says that if she was to go full blonde that her hair regrowth would be much harsher so that's why they chose that more muted color

Francine Harris: Great color for her skin tone! Looks beautiful!

Ruth Iglesias: I've been dying my hair since I was 15 both box and salon style. The red might have been masking issues. The stylist focused on saving the hair. I respect that.

Cora Ruth: I’m glad she didn’t go blonde but I’m also not a huge fan of the brown…

oooraaaa: Ok but the inspo went out the window? This is more of a color correction.

Pat Kow: Amazing transformation! But I would love to see more blonde

JuaniqueVerde: It looks good! I couldn’t really tell a difference but when they did the before & after Mina’s hair looks soooo good! And healthy!! (I’m also glad the stylist emphasized this too: healthy hair!!) Duly noted: I def won’t be messing with the red shades! I’m also glad they talked about how long this transformation would take.

Kimmy&Mark: I can’t tell that much of a difference. I honestly feel like the stylist was to scared to do it or something. I don’t by the whole it would ruin her hair cause iv seen woman go from crazy bleached colors to other colors when u get a good stylist. This lady could have saved so much money and just did this herself.

Raven Davis: I liked the before better. The after was basic and boring. At least her hair looks healthy, I guess.

mintii: Good colour. Glad they went with this shade. Her hair looks so healthy

ITALY: Looks lovely

victoria grant: Beautiful result!

steph: At least she seems to love it that's the main thing, it's nothing like Haileys hair which is what she asked for but it's still gorgeous on her

Felicia V. Ramnanan Davidson: It's hard to find a great colorist that will say what best suits the client because some clients would see a color and wants it without considering their skin tone which can have a clash in both tones, not everyone can pull a blonde or a red head... but this color is really nice on her it complimented her skin tone very nicely

Jay Camp: How does one go about being on this series? I've always wanted to go green and would love to show people the process

Tamare Louw: "And it's healthy" is it? Is it really? Or is it not what I asked for

쿠우: That new hair color looks great on her

S: I am really disappointed This is not what she asked for

Aditi Jha: It looks good but I was expecting a different colour

Lana Crystal: Oh no Where is all the beautiful caramel blonde I was expecting? Love it wish it has more contrast.

Addides Pickens: It looks really light and fluffy it's so nice

Vielen Dank!: Apart from her new hair, I love her lips!!!

Daniela Smith: True, it’s not as blonde as the inspiration pic, but that final result looks great! The strawberry blonde looked cool but it def put the attention on her HAIR and less on her whole self. (Which is totally fine if that’s the goal!) The final look is that “effortlessly pretty” vibe. I bet it looks amazing in natural sunlight.

Nora’s Channel: You’re very beautiful omg! Any hair color suits you!

Caitlin Gray: Genuinely I have never had a problem getting red out, blue or green on the other hand, is the devil.

Olivia: love these kinds of videos!

mysillylittlelife: But where is the blonde.... I mean I get that she wanted to give her a more natural colour, and coming from the base she had to work with this is a good result, but a) again the title of the video is just clickbaity and b) if I went to a hairdresser wanting what she wanted and went out like she did I would be pretty disappointed.

Sandra Morcos: I think her hair turned out beautiful and she can go lighter later but at least she didn’t compromise her hair health. Red is just hard to get it out of the hair.

Miss B: Her previous colour suited her skin tone much better and you can tell she wasn't really happy with the outcome. Would love to see what she does next.

karen szary: It's not what she originally wanted but she looks sooo pretty

juju m: It is beautiful, very beautiful ❤️

Patri Sánchez: Did she look beautiful? Yes Did she have blonde hair? Nop

Madalena Barrancos Vieira: Love these videos, but i wish their conversations weren't so scripted. Also wish the highlight would be lighter

ParkKookliet JeonJimeo: I wouldn't trust my hair to a woman who has such a shavy look

Brooke Clark: I don't think people are taking into consideration that the client herself said she changed her mind on going blonde. That's why her hair is brown with subtle highlights, I think it's super pretty and if she's happy, thats all the matters. Now that it's this color, it would be super easy to go back and get more highlights and really lighten it up if she decided to go blonder.

Klara Winterain: I bet she's a great public speaker. She did her intro really well and all was so light and coherent without any pause or stuttering. I wonder what her job is...

R: I like how she did it in 2 steps

M Cee: Why’d she’s bleach it just to darken it again?

shreya love: dear lord she's 30? she looks 20!!!!!

princess Luna kusuma: she got exactly my natural hair colour when i go outside and the hair catches sun light lolz, in couple months changed it to bieber blonde

AlwaysAsh14: ….I’m not seeing any ash blonde, im not seeing any blonde at all

Soha Karim: She is beautiful ❤️

Holly Gamble: gorgeous girl!!!

Sugar Cookies: I feel like she was expecting to go lighter..

Eugerie Vieux: As a stylist she did a great job getting to a point of healthy hair. IF YOU USE BOX COLOR ON YOUR HAIR EVEN IF ITS FROM SALLYS EXPECT THE PROCESS TO BE LONGGGGGG, GETTING TO BLONDE HAIR OR JUST AN EVEN BASE FOR COLOR IN THE FUTURE. It TAKES ALOT OF EFFORT time and money to undue the damage the client has done at home. . You dont just add 40 volume or what other non stylist on youtube told you to do. You have to baby the hair so it doesnt melt or fall out. I know times are hard but this could all be avoided if you dont use box color and take care of your hair. Also to ease your pocket in going lighter you can always talk to your stylist about gradually getting lighter. This was great she got her to a neutral color and she can always do highlights in the future when her hair is in a better state. Yes some who have no experience in this field (no shade at all) may say "she could have gone lighter" or this" isnt what she asked for". When you have previous color on your hair especially box color the results are unpredictable. You have to do what the hair allows you to do without it breaking on you.

Ant: Nothing changed...

Luana Mendes: I love this

M Cee: Omg this is the first hair me out where they haven’t showed hair before and after compared. That’s cause it looks the same :(

zoha fatima: huh???? there was barely any change

Anti-Boutique n’ Bourgeoisie: Looks so much more natural and warm.

ThunderFortune: Umm well that was hardley a transformation definitely not what she asked for. Was she basically saying she couldn’t have Hailey Beiber’s hair because of her skin colour? I feel like it would have really suited her.

Crybaby: she definitely went home and cried

Dior G: This looks nothing like what she asked for ….I’m disappointed for her.

Cynthia Estrada: Where are the highlights in the front?! I’d be mad! Looks like a regular brown color.

Ivieta: It does look good but it doesn't seem to be what she asked for

princess Luna kusuma: at first mina wants blnde hailey bieber then probably in the middle of the shoot there was like some kind of problem that makes it difficult to change from red and if its forced the hair artist afraid that it would damaged the hair so thats why they only go for this dark brown blonde lolz well at least your hair looks healthy but yeah i wish u get the blonde blonde next time

Maxine 96: It looks so much better. Healthier and more elegant.

Prashant Chavan: Am i the only one who didn't see any major change???

Blu-Sczes: Maybe it’s just me, but it’s just brown with some very slightly lighter strands and ends… but it’s very far from what she desired….

Gabe: The brown is kinda lame for her beautiful personality… at least she could get more brighter highlights

Daniel Flores: I’m not sure why everyone has negative comments. The guest looks gorgeous with this color! Red box dye is very difficult to remove and they did a huge amount of work in two sessions which is absolutely incredible. Her hair looks beautiful and looks healthy. The color also matches beautifully with the guest skin tone. The stylist did an amazing job ❤️

Bobbie: Did anybody watch the full video? She didn’t want to go blonde anymore.

Shtbk: Hair look great, but it literaly doesn’t look like Hailey Bieber’s hair at all.. so sad

dienutz: Looks nothing like what she wanted. Meh, dislike

Elle May: 3 min in.. wtaf? 1st, I wouldn't have called that pic of Hayley hair ash. Um, way to damage hair! Colour removal for mids to ends(possibly bleach bath) then colour roots to mids While foils through mids to ends to lighten & tone Then probably a semi to finish & make sure toned right..

Allana Polinske: Ummm red hair? The OG hair is brown…not red.

Hunter Andrews: If you hear the end she says she changed her mind about the blonde guys, so she knows it’s not the Hailey Bieber hair that she asked for initially!

lmg: Well the title is a damn LIEEEE

91geps: This needed more lift

Samantha Chacon: I thought it was gonna be lighter

N. D.: the end result looked like a lot of girls when they walk in lol

Honeytan Cutie: Ummm, that’s NOT blonde. Just saying.‍♀️

luchewigg168: It looks the same as before?

victoriaremmons: Y’all do realize you can’t go blonde overnight with box color right??? She wanted to keep her hair healthy. Do your research before commenting such ignorant things.

Hadeel Bacha: I do it by my self and it’s missed up

ImaginaryAthenian: The US stopped using masks indoors?

Jacque C: It looks the exact same
