Why Does Gogeta Have Red Hair?

MrBrainDead: Gogeta’s base hair might just be red. We never saw him in base state and since ssj4 Goku and Vegeta have the same hair color like their base forms, we could say that gogeta ssj4’s hair reflects his base hair color which could be the reason for him having the color he has now.

TB23: To defend the first theory, there was a scene in GT Bulma states that’s Vegeta could reach a Super Saipan 5, maybe it was light foreshadowing. I am not sure if the show was supposed to continue on after Goku went with Shenron, or if Goku was supposed to pass on at at, but either way it could’ve been the next step for GT.

Rhymestyle: Brilliant. The twist that I'd say is that this COULD be more of a false super saiyan god form. Kind of like how when Goku fought slug, but wasn't quite super saiyan. 

ThanatosZero: One has to remember. In GT there was something similiar to the SSG ritual. Pan, Gohan, Trunks and Goten gave Goku energy in the climax against Syn Shenlong so he can stand against him. And when Goku fused with Vegeta, Gogeta had a different hair colour. It was reminiscient of SSG.

Random Joe: my theory is the Pheomelanin that Gogeta attained from the fusion by the way Pheomelanin is a type Melanin that causes hair to look red and Goku and Vegeta must of had a lot because most of there fur is red from the ssj4 transformation so combining there Pheomelanin must of caused Gogeta's hair to be red

Geta92: I'm pretty sure the real answer is pretty simple and boring. From his looks, Gogeta's hair is almost identical to SSJ4 Goku's hair. He also has Goku's height. So I guess they wanted his color scheme to be closer to Vegeta's, that being red fur and brown hair, opposed to Goku's black hair and kinda rose fur. I'm pretty sure they just accidentally flipped his color palette, thought it looks better and just kept it. The fact that he has Vegeta's eye color also kinda hints at his color plalette being Vegeta's.

The Social Dive: Love the theory but if all three series are in the same timeline then how do you account for a base goku and a base vegeta fuse in the buu saga to make vegito? Wouldn’t they have fused into ss vegito from the start and not a base form vegito? Just wondering. Other that that, I think your theory is spot on.

I can now imagine the different levels of SSJG like this: God/Red: red version of base hair Blue: blue version of SSJ hair Blue 2/3: blue versions of SSJ2 and SSJ3, respectively And finally, SSJG4: Red version of SSJ4 hair, which originally matched the base hair. Fur becomes darker red as a result from the redness of the fur becoming more intense and concentrated, like red ink The blue eyes can be a result of Vegeta maybe reaching Blue and not realizing it

Louis Agius: @ExperGamez To answer one of the objections, why Gogeta's eyes are blue, I would say because Vegeta is wearing his contact lenses to transform into SSJ4, so probably when they fuse, Gogeta still retains the lenses, that might be the reason why his eyes are blue. But that's just my theory :D

VILL_IN: Well what made sense to me is that usually I thought that ssj4 hair would depend on your base hair color so gogeta a hair color could be red in base or since he is so fast right when there was light he might have zoomed like the flash to get a hair dye and throw it behind him and then when the light went away he has red hair

Jack Hewitt: ive always thought it was a mutation or something because vegeta became ssj4 unnaturally therefore resulting in his form having a slight mutation with his fur and eye colour. and since vegeta fused with goku as a result gogeta also had slight mutations. thats just my theory

Sandelz: I would like to add to the first theory. Goten and trunks can perform the fusion dance perfectly. They are same sice, they are same race and their powerlevels are stable. They create Gotenks who controls his power and transformations perfectly. When compared to goku and vegeta, there is clear differents. They are same race, but goku is stronger and taller than vegeta so the fusion is not perfect. Therefore we get supersayan Gogeta who has no control over transformaations and the only form that can sustain the fusion is a higher level of power.

A L: The likes of Gogeta with Red Hair, Goku in Lord Slug, and Broly’s various forms lead to a lot of interesting opportunities that will unfortunately go largely ignored by TOEI and co. It is inevitable that further transformations are on its way, here’s to hoping that certain characters will follow their own stream transformations. For example, Goku jumping to Ultra Instinct, whereas Vegeta went his own way with Ascended Ssj Blue.

Brennon Webb: If I'm not mistaken, Goku's SS4 energy or aura was yellow originally. After receiving energy from the others however, he had orange energy for the rest of the series. It is possible that they came really close to the god transformation, but simply didn't have enough saiyans. That is of course assuming that GT is an alternate timeline.

Dollopuss Films: Remember how Vegito had brown hair? I think Toei need to make it cannon that God essence is generated during potara and matamari dance fusions. Small amount (potara) brown hair, unbalanced fusion (matamari) sufficient to transform but not enough for hair colour change and finally SSJ4 massive amount of God-like ki so red hair (ssjgod) blue eyes (ssj God Super Saiyan) and super saiyan 4/5. Just my ideas there.

MGBM: I thought it's just because since "Gogeta" is the fusion mainly focused on Goku, he has red hair because that RED is SS4 Gokus Red Energy that he emits. Notice that Gogeta keeps Vegetas Green eyes. So if SS4 Patora Fusion happens, expect a Light Green Hair Vegito (Because SS4 Vegeta Emits Greenish energy , like his Final Shine attack). That's my little simple theory lol

Gio Gio: I have a theory (a real one not troll) : When Vegeta transforms into ssj4 he looks different than Goku. His fur is more red and his hair is browner than the original hair. Ssj4 also looks different from ssj1-3. So, considering that Gogeta is a different character on his own (like Gotenks) and the fact that ssj4 makes all of your body parts look different than originally (just like goku who becomes a grown up and vegeta who grows hair) his hair color changes from the original (probably black) to red.

TonyMGM: I dont think that fusing 2 base forms gives a super saiyan, and fusing 2 ssj4 gives an ssj5. Because Gotenks would have been super saiyan after the fusion of Goten and Trunks in their base forms

Garthur0: actually GT has a lot of inconsistencies with the hair like... why is vegetas hair shorter? why does it turn brownish when he goes ss4? why are gokus, vegetas, and gogetas fur a different color? why does goku have yellow eyes and vegeta blueish eyes when they go ss4? why does goku revert to an adult when he goes ss4, but then to a child when he turns it off? does ss4 come with a special set of clothes? cuz they sure ain't the same when goku transforms... what if he does it while he's naked? does he still get magic pants? what happens to their nipples ? if goku turns ss4 as an adult would that make him stronger? also why does gogetas ss4 hairstyle resemble gokus ss4? his regular hairstyle is more like vegetas with only a little bit of forelock... who the hell knows...

B: I realize this video is pretty old but it seems pretty clear they did it to sell more toys. SS4 goku and gogeta needed something more than the fusion coat to set them apart. Also the ss5 theory seems silly because gotenks didn't immediately become a super saiyan from the fusion.

Luís Carlos vinte e oito: His colors are a reference to vegetto. Since vegetto's colors were the Goku's gi ones but switched, the gogeta' ones are the switched colors of Vegeta. Yeah Vegeta's hair is brown . It also helps to differ Goku from gogeta. Because their hair are so similar
