How To Formulate Toner For Gray Hair | Transiting Client Back To Her Natual Gray Hair

My client decided to jump on the “going gray” band wagon. We have been doing highlights with a level 7/8 base for a while and would like to see her natural color grow out. This formula works well for that transition.

Hey there and welcome to my toner formula series, where I do toners my favorite ones, and I post them on here the results. This is going to be a silver-gray one, where a client of mine wanted to start growing out her natural level 8 with gray hair. She would normally get a highlight in a retouch covering her gray. Here is the result. We are so happy with it, and this is how we did it. If you would like to see more of my videos and other techniques, please subscribe to the bottom right and made it easy for you. This isn't where I just bid a baby fine highlight, and I did not bring the highlights to the route where her natural 2 inch. Regrowth was so you see right here. I did not bring the highlight she had about a two inch of regrowth. I did not put the lightener over top of that. I want that to stay natural. I did that the highlight heavier around the face, clear Lake's. That'S where they're going to be more gray and the further back would go on the head. She has quite a bit less compared to the front and then the crown she does not have a lot. So I did a little bit less there and underneath we did keep natural. I used the red Kim shades of Hugh glass as usual. Well. 3/4. 90. 1/4. Clear and processing solution left it on for 15 minutes. Why not 20? It was on very, very, very towel, dried hair and I actually stopped it and rinse it off, because the color had processed to where I wanted, and I was afraid that I left it on too much longer. It would look too drabby if you perfect, a personal preference. If you want to leave it on full 20 go right ahead, but you would do at least and leave it on long enough for it to get this nice silvery color after I rinse with cool water lightly. Shampooed, don't want to do too heavy of a shampoo, and she did by the brass off total results. Shampoo to take home with her here are the results that she was extremely happy with it. It looks so natural, I don't even know if we need to do too many more. I honestly thought this would be a couple processes, but she does not have a lot of great, and this is like her natural hair color. So we may not actually have to do it again, but we will take a look at it as it grows out and see to go from here. Sometimes you can't make a plan sometimes just got ta wait and see what happens as it grows. If he didn't do it at the beginning, here's your chance to do it now. I hope you come back and I will have more videos for you soon. Thanks, bye,

gayle torres: This is beautiful!!! As a person with almost all white, I keep looking for solutions to add dimension without it just getting to be a brassy mess once color had faded. Would welcome direction.

Patrizia E: My hair was always very dark with reddish highlights but along the way, coloring my gray hair, I started going lighter.. at the end I had beautiful salt and pepper at the roots but horrible red orangy brown hair that looks burned so I used a toner . A wella toner I got at Sally supplies , it's the lightest ash blonde. Applied it and left it on for 30 minutes. My gray hair is more blended and the orange is gone. On top looks like a rich silver that goes into a gradual light brown and blends it all and I love it! I would recommend it, my hair is very thin and curly but now looks more relaxed , thicker and elegant. I will keep doing this until I go all gray. I can definitely live with this until I am all gray.

Wendy Mena: Hi! Curious about this clients follow up on her gray regrowth and future applications. Love the shade it came to.

Tully Soulliere: Very very pretty! Nice work!

Lee Lu: Please consider leaving the formula longer on the screen and also in the description box for each. Could you also go back and as a pinned comment with each formula for those videos that you've already posted where the formula isn't in the description box?!

Jayne Chiazzari: looks gorgeous

Regina Crystal: New subscriber! I am 4 months in of growing my grey hair.

Tee S: that looks really great.

Wendy Mena: I need to do this to my hair...do stylists learn this at school or somewhere else? Seems like too much room for error .

Dottie Pinto: Great video, thank you

Brenda Dize: My hair has heavy blonde highlights to allow my gray to grow in. I have about 2 inches of gray. At this point, would it be possible to bring in some gray/white highlights to help blend the gray with the blonde?

Joy to the World: Beautiful

Jun Pinili: i love the color!

Honey Beary: so to be clear - you did hi-lights to the regrowth - so did you do 10 vol or 20 vol?

Jackie Gmp: Thing is we are not all blondes with our grey growing out. I’m auburn. And it’s frustrating with it growing out.

Lynn Flynn: I have full head grey hair and would like to put light blonde highlights in my hair. Is this possible

PixieMermaid: Not a fan of redken eq shades. With my hair. Nope.

Cynthia L: And the formula is, :-) :-) :-)

Patsy Hill: Wish they would give the formaul

LaDonnaization: I have natural white roots. So far they won't take any blonde color.
