Is silver: the new black, more and more women are saying goodbye to die and hello to their natural silver hair color. It was automatically known as being older that a light had gone out in a way or something, but then they all came along, and then we started to color and hide everyone's natural color Loraine, Mathias stylist and author of silver hair is on a mission to launch A new movement to inspire women to let their natural hair shine through you're, not letting yourself go. That'S for sure you just let him go. That'S the idea of being silver. Thirty-Five-Year-Old aundrea fish can starting to see silver strands peek through when she was just 12 years old. I felt that maybe there was something wrong with me like. Why am i graying so early in my life, hair goes gray. One color producing cells, stop producing pigment. Scientists. Don'T know exactly why some people go gray early, but genes play a large role. After 12 years of dyeing, her hair Fishkin decided to accept her silver tresses. I get a compliments every day, sometimes I'm the looks just like okay. It just really makes me who I am. You know it's it's I love the brightness of it. I you know, I think it just matches me really well. Celebrities like Jamie Lee, Curtis and Helen Mirren, were some of the first to go full silver, but young girls like pink and Lady gaga, have followed suit. We'Re talking about now for the last five years. Is silver trend has been going on and I'm amazed at how many women actually look really great, with silver hair 51 year old, Dana Guerrero wanted to follow the silver movement and came to Massey for help. It'Ll definitely take a little while for me to get used to it. I'M anticipating that, because I think it'll be a little radical today, but I'm open to the experience. There are a few ways women can embrace their naturally changing shade. You can quit dyeing your hair cold. Turkey start adding highlights or lowlights for a smoother tone transition begin growing out your color from underneath or for women like Dana with short hair. You can dye your hair, so I'm going to bleach it up as light as I can, but then we're gon na. Tell me after that. So that's when we're gon na put the silver tie on Massey says going. Silver is also good for your wallet. Women who go to the salon at least every six weeks to cover up their grades, could save around a thousand dollars a year by going natural after a few hours in the chair, Dana is ready to see her transformation. Dana. Yes, are you ready, I'm ready turn you around. I don't know what to think. I mean it's beautiful. I love it. It'S such a change that I I can't speak now. I mean I never am at a loss for words, totally there's something real deep going on here. Yeah, it's like I don't know, Massey says going silver, isn't just about style or saving time and money at the salon. It'S about the desire for authenticity and the freedom to be oneself. You

Marianna Wie: I am 28 and have a lot of gray hair. I stopped dying it one year ago and feel super attractive :) I think it is all up to your courage and style! Don't let some people around you or hairdressers to shame your white hair :)

Venus77x: I'm 57 and finally let all my grey come through from dying my mousey hair from the age of 23. I never quite achieved my perfect silver ash blonde, but as soon as I stopped dying it, the colour was perfection! It suits my skin tone and more colours look so much better on me now, both in clothing and makeup. I wish I'd embraced the grey sooner, my hair feels and looks thicker and in better condition, I feel groomed and on trend....it's so liberating!

Dama Q: What a relief it is to see this. I’ve been thinking of finally letting myself go gray. I hate dying my hair and am so tired of doing it. I was going to dye my hair this weekend but this was the push I needed to set me free! Thank you

Nancy Stevenson: Dye it, don't dye it. Do what makes sense for you. At some point it doesn't really matter anyway. Do what makes you happy.

Angela Bucciarelli: My mom is 80 and has never dyed her silver hair and it’s gorgeous. She gets lots of compliments. I have VERY dark brown hair and people think I’m dying mine. I’m 55 and am starting to see a few silver hairs peeking out and have no intention to dye it. I’m looking forward to see what happens. Feel very blessed.

Ruthiebaby30: I just got all choked up when Dana said there was something real deep going on! I'm going to the salon at the end of the week for the same thing. I'm sick of dying my hair dark, I started getting the odd grey hair when I was 17, now I'm 49 at the weekend its time for change!

Voice in the Chaos: I stopped dying my hair in December 2017. I had just grown so tired of having gray roots 1-2 weeks after I had dyed it. And I am feeling great now! The pressure (to dye my hair every 4 - 6 weeks) is off, and my hair is ssssso much healthier! I even had baby hair come up around the edge of my face that apparently all the hairdyes had burned off. I am loving it. Recommend!

anonymous johnson: I am 73 year old female and still have some of my brown hair with some gray on the sides. I have never dyed my hair as I thought it was too expensive and too much trouble. I think gray hair is beautiful and just another color. Don't dye your hair to please anyone. You are beautiful the way you are and with your natural hair color.

Peggy Burke: My hair is silver. I am 65. I don’t expect to look 40. It’s alright to age naturally. People should do what they want. If I wanted to dye mine I would. I am a 2 time cancer survivor and I’m thankful for every day I’m alive and cancer free. Old is a privilege many don’t have the chance to experience.

Patricia Jennings: I stopped dying my hair a couple of years ago. Best thing I ever did. I have lots of compliments I’ve even got two of my friends to transition.

Runaway Monk: I am a hairdresser and I LOVE when people want to work with their natural colour! Those models look gorgeous and the change in their skin and how it glows when they have their natural colour. Wow

June 4mbs: That client who went grey... and her response brought tears to my eyes!! She looked gorgeous!!! I'm going down the 'highlights/lowlights' path... but looking forward to blending that grey and embracing it. Thankyou for a positively uplifting video.

Mama Camaño: I'm glad I found this video because I just decided to let my grey hair grow the natural way. I'm 56 years old and have been dyeing my grey but no more spending money on that or worrying about how it looks. I have been embracing my wrinkles and changes so as long as I have relatively good health, I'm happy

Honey Buns: Did this 2 yrs ago! It really was an inner freedom for me,I became more confident and not so hair obsessed and my wallet got happy as well!

Delphi333: I think it's great - it's cool to have the option to dye your hair or not. I think more important than color however is texture...gray hair can get wiry (not for everyone of course) so it's important to keep the texture healthy and no split ends, etc...it's just part of aging, but aging is a gift and if you have the fortune to age then it should be embraced.

Middle Aged Pixie: I stopped colouring my hair September of last year as my scalp was starting to feel really tender. Ten months on & my hair has a sprinkle of grey throughout and I really like the look of it, even my husband likes it. Some people think that I have had highlights. Well at least it's cheaper than going to the salon.

Mrs. Tiffany: when I was younger I used to dye my hair all sorts of colors but then I decided to go with my natural color and couldn't be happier my hair is healthier, softer, and has started sprouting some silver which I love, it is so shiny and makes me feel magical I think aging is a great thing I am not afraid of it at all and I think more people should embrace it when it is their time to. Just let nature take its course

Adeliegentoo: I started finding grey when I was 19. I dyed it myself for ten years and then decided to just let it go. It took almost 30 years of hated salt-and-pepper before I woke up one morning and realized that it was entirely white. I keep it silvery and chase away the yellow dinge by using purple shampoo and conditioners, and never applying direct heat (curling or straightening irons.) I now have a full head of silver hair and people stop me on the street to comment on it at least four times a week. I'm in my 70s, but have a fairly unlined face, so it's a nice contrast.

Terri Davis-Cole: Love the freedom of being me. I get lots of compliments from people on my hair. A lot of people think I got it colored that way. I love it. Sometimes I miss my brown hair but I’m lucky to get older. A lot of people associate brown or darker hair withbyouth. I seen a lot of women with dyed hair and they still look old. I still have youthful skin despite the silver hair. I think you are as you think.

Christos Anesti: People should do with their looks whatever they want. I'll dye my hair and put makeup on whenever and how I feel like it. Not because I'm insecure; days go by without me putting something on and go out because I don't give a shit. It's optional, just as letting your grey hair grow out and never touch a makeup kit. Embracing yourself is allowing yourself to look and feel as you see fit, not mirroring what someone tells you how you must look.

Zoooli Oli: After chemo therapy I lost my hair. When it came back I embraced my silver gray hair and never looked back. Compliments galore! I have kept it short and fun. I use supercuts blue shampoo for gray hair and it gives it a nice touch.

Lia Tori: Most importantantly: Embrace EVERY woman's decision. Either grey or color, each woman their own. STOP telling others what to do!!!!

angel: I started going gray natural in my early 20s. And right now I'm 41 and i just love it. I always get complements on hair. Just own it. Its beautiful...

deniseg812: The tone of everyone's skin is amazing. It just goes to show Mother Nature Knows what she is doing.

Libra: I stopped coloring my hair couple of years ago, as I not only got tired but I started to loose my hair too. So one day I decided to go without it. I wouldn’t say it was an easy decision. There were times that I wanted to go back to color it again and the way everyone was against it that you’re still young, but then I see someone with grey hair, and that kept me going. After few months ( 9 months to be exact ) those who were against started to compliment me. Everywhere I go strangers stop me and gives me compliments and wish they have nerve to do that. So for those who wanted to go for it, my advice, be strong and you’ll see a beautiful result .

packrcch: absolutely. experience..maturity...self acceptance...and natural well-groomed gray hair. some men are intimidated by this much strength.

Tina K Baker: I let my short hair grow out of color naturally. The hair cut I got when the last red dye was coming off made my heart pound! I didn’t want to tell my beautician how I was feeling. I wanted to take off running....in a good way. I love it.

Claudia Plantak: I'm 46, have gone completely grey, and am complimented numerous times a day. I had a fantastic hairdresser who worked with me and we gradually added less and less ash until it wasn't needed anymore. The next step was to stop with the continual straightening and get a cut that allows me to let my natural texture play. I wear make up daily, always do my eyebrows as they make such a dramatic difference, and wear a lot of black and neutrals, but I would never consider it having let myself go!

tracy fun: i stopped dying my hair two years ago. my hair is salt and pepper with quite a bit of black/brown in it as well as silver. i found it was a hard but v rewarding experience, my hair is now unique and no one else will have the same colour as yours. im glad i did it and never gave a toss about what anyone else thought. its long ish now and i love it, im 48 this year, i dress how i want, wear what i want, and get lots of admiring glances from men both young and older. if your thinking of doing it go for it x

ROSETTA WILLIAMS: Just joined your club. Dyeing my hair was such a chore and became expensive. Now have a head of silver curls. Wash, mousse it and squeeze in curls. A pick can be used to shape and give symmetry. Love it.

Boudica: My boss tried this. It added 10 years to her looks. After a while she went back to coloring her hair and immediately looked younger than her actual years.

artdollz: I used to have my grey roots done every 4-5 weeks, but it got really expensive so I did my own coloring for a while. I got so tired of the mess and the hassle so I decided to stop cold turkey. I haven't colored my hair since this past December; it's been so liberating and I couldn't be happier and my hubby loves my incoming greys!

Charlene Fuller-Gossett: I recently chose to embrace my grey by no longer coloring it all over. What my stylist and I are doing is highlighting to blend in with the grey. Still in transition but I'm looking forward to the end result.

Sheila: This has inspired me to give the natural look a go. Due to the pandemic, I have cut my own hair, which looks good and I have not had my roots done for a while now I have blonde highlights anyway, so the emerging colour does not look out of place. Even when the salons re-open, I think I will persevere and see what colour comes through..

gull cottage: Stopped colouring my hair when I turned 67. Have never regretted it. Nothing looks worse than dark hair and old skin. and , the money I save....Great.

R Zhasa: I love grey hair! I'm saying no to dye!

Carrie's Comments: The lady who went grey at 12 (can't remember her name ) is really pretty and her hair colour suits her! I've never dyed my hair and I never want to! I'm not totally grey, but have grey strands in my dark brown hair! I've always loved my hair colour (dark brown but with copper and red, natural low lights).

Tess H: That's one of the best transformations I've ever seen!

A.J. O: I just started my transition to silver hair. My hair was growing out silver since my Teens I am now 52 yrs old. I have stopped dying my hair black and cut my hair very short and just allowing my hair to grow out silver and will cut black hair as it grows. I should have done this years and years ago. I cannot wait until I have a complete head of silver hair .

Fun tame all love: I’m at the. Crossroads now but not looking back. My friends are openly shocked by the size of my stripe but as soon as I say “I’m done with hair dye!” They get it. Once I bluntly announce my refusal to spend another penny on hair dye, they completely understand....but they’re still horrified . Lol. I don’t care

gu goop: I let it grow out grey and love it!

HoneyedHylian: She looks stunning after going grey and I mean it. It gives her personality

[email protected] Cruz: I went grey after I lost all my hair to chemotherapy, after being bald any change looks normal lol, I even put semi permanent pastel colors every now and then, they last for 3-4 weeks.

Victoria Wyckoff: i am so glad i went all natural! I am more salt and pepper then white. I get so many complements on my hair then i ever have. It takes courage and a different mindset but it is so cool! Save money and time big time!!!!

Rainbow Citizen: I was premature gray. Started at 13. But waited till my 50's to make the change over. Took me about a year with lots of great hats, scarves and trims to keep the length. Today I get compliments from all age groups. It was totally worth the wait.

R Mee: I Embraced my salt & pepper hair 2 years ago no regrets grey is a colour not an age - my mantra

Alias Alien: I am completely happy with my silver hair. I became allergic to all hair dyes. Whelps, breaking out horrible itching and decided I wanted to be FREE and I am FREE AT LAST.

Diane Merwin: Naturally grey hair is the real deal.

Maryann Hippie: Best decision I made ditch the haircoloring 2 years ago never regretted it ✌

Blanche Konieczka: Does anyone have advice for a brunette going gray. I stopped dying my hair years ago and am now about 50% gray and silver. My problem is sometimes my hair looks dirty, even when I've washed it the previous day. Something about the gray, silver and brown combination occasionally gives a dirty hair illusion. Any advice on making it look nicer without dying?

Jules: I am naturally going grey/silver and have been for about 7 years now. I love it. Thinking about going with some silver highlights to "whiten" it up a bit.

One MercilessMing: It depends. If your grey/gray comes in silver that actually sparkles a bit in sunlight, then embrace it. If it comes in a dank or sallow yellow color, you might want to discuss with a reputable hairdresser whether to dye it, rinse it, or "blue" it. Some grey/gray hair is distinctly unresponsive to dyes and has to have additional processes done to make the dye "work" with such hair. That gets pricey and most women have much better things to pay for with their retirement pensions than spend a sizeable percentage of those (sometimes) meager funds on one's hair.

WndrWmn72 A: If you want the freedom of being oneself, then do what makes you happy and feel good about yourself! Not what everyone else's doing!

Timbrock1000: MY WIFE STARTED GOING GREY WHEN SHE WAS 18. By age 22, she was completely grey. She colored it all the time. We marrid when she was 26, I was 27. Then, when she turned 29, she and I had our first child. ( a boy) She decided when he turned 1 year, she would stop coloring her hair. The day before his 1st birthdau, she colored it one last time. Dark brown and auburn. Over the next few months, she let her grey hair grow out. By the time our son was 2, she was completely grey. That was 2004. Since then, she's been grey, has never looked back, and is still as sexy ad she ever was.

Kiki: My hair started going gray at 23. My mom started getting gray hairs at 11 years old. I can accept this because I know its hereditary and it's kinda out of my control. Gray hairs are not a bad thing anyway.

Princess Lupi: My hair started greying about 54. I was pleased It started at the front with a streak on the full side of my side part. My hair is blonde, so now when I look in the mirror, I sing the the Christmas song by Burl Ives, Silver and Gold!

motorbikeRay: 00:37 the 35 year-old woman's naturally gray hair looks great on her. 2:10 her transformation from dark hair to gray hair made her look prettier.

Kat Kathi: The yellow on the ends is a pain to deal with, have to keep toning it, if I had to do it again I would just let it grow out naturally, whether you dye it dark or bleach it light it is all an expensive inconvenience until it grows out anyway and the processed parts are always so dry and unhealthy, even if you keep conditioning it, whether it “ feels” softer or not it is still damaged hair.

T-Bone's Mom: I am not "letting myself go", I am "setting myself free". 18 months and I look fabulous.

Rejoice In His Name: Gray hair for Filipina is a sign of old age. So they dye it monthly or twice to cover up grey hair. but i let it go! I stop using hair dye and i realised when it came longer down to the level of my shoulder... surprise i love my gray hair .. and definitely as i age it becomes silky white. I am going 60 and having a lot of fun, i enjoy the color and texture of my hair with Argan shampoo and conditioner.

Over50andFantabulous: Cut all of my hair off 3 weeks ago. Best thing I ever did.

Marilyn McAuley Martens: I love it! I have been considering going grey for quite sometime. Not sure whether to cut it or go grey by just stopping the madness of color.

bubgum00: My Grandmother was completely gray at 30. I am 56 and I am starting o go gray and I have embraced it. Being gray doesn’t make you old, but your attitude does.

Judy Berends: My hair came in a pretty platinum blonde color when I became older and it got wavy .What a blessing. I'm wash and wear. My dad was all German and I have his coloring . So happy.

Mar Garcia: Amen! I think I was the only one of my family and friends that got so excited to see the first graysnow I’m 52 and can’t wait to have more gray or fully gray. Right now I just have the crown.

Karen Heckathorne: I love the lady's hair that was dyed gray. Beautiful!

6íχCønfěssíøns: ♥*♡+:。.。I used to have dark blonde hair then I started bleaching it lighter. By the time I reached my early thirties I went dark & dyed my own hair. But even still need dying every 6 weeks so after finding a hairdresser who was willing to take a chance & strip the colour from it I made the commitment to go natural thinking that if i hated it I could dye it again. I had no idea what colour my hair was underneath the dye since I hadn't seen my natural colour in over 20 years. It turned out to be a soft silvery white and I knew that I could quite happily live with that which I have for the last 15 years. I get a lot of compliments regarding my natural colour. Sometimes nature does know best so if you're thinking about it & have a bit of extra cash give it a go & see how you feel. If you hate then dye it again but if you think that you can embrace it then you'll never look back.。.。:+♡*♥

BBC_Junior: I like grey hair. I just wish it wasn’t associated with being old.

Peggy Harris: Don't dye it to look 'young' for men. They won't even lose their beer belly to please you.

Grace Bennion: I'm still debating letting go of dying my hair. I feel I look a lot younger with colour and foils. But if I new my hair would look flattering going natural grey … I would do it.

jacaranda: Her hair turned out beautiful!

Shari T: Yep, I quit dying mine about 6 years ago, won't ever do it again...I'm 55 and salt and pepper and I LOVE it!!

Linda Easley: Its all about what makes you feel good about yourself . I want to look alittle younger than I am so dying my hair a lighter shade of my original hair color makes me feel good about myself

MsG: I turned silver in my early 50's..decided to stop coloring and embrace my silver..but now I'm struggling with dryness..my hair looks dry no matter what moisturizer I use.. I'm also trying to obtain that silver blue look....folks need to stop associating grey with being old...and I'm 62 young!

chello70: After watching this...I’m thinking... I’m going to stop dying my hair black. :)

Karen Smith: SHORT HAIR LOOKS AMAZING, FITS HER!!!!!

Freedom Forever: I am going silver!!! She looks amazing!

charmaine lopez: It's actually sad that society equates having gray as being old and letting go of oneself. It's unfair because if a man decides to grow out his gray hair, he is deemed dignified since the shade of silver is somewhat seen as a testament of the knowledge, skill and experience he has garnered. Such a double standard can only make one's head shake in dismay. Hopefully this so-called silver trend among women can catch and reverse whatever negative perception it carries in the long run.

Fancy’s Folly: My hair started turning gray in my twenties...my dad and paternal grandmother both had white hair...I was glad that mine turned gray because I loved them so much.

Celtic Lass: Been grey/white since my early 30s. I have always embrassed it. Upside - Always had and still get compliments in my 60s, don't waste money on dyes or time at hair dressers. When asked what colour I use....Mother Nature 101, and having 3 teenage daughter stress!

Divine Retreats- Meditation & Healing: I'm 35, with short to medium length almost 50% grey hair. Have been colouring, using henna or dye since I was 12. Got fed up of dyeing them by now. Sometimes I feel like bleaching and toning my full hair once and then let my natural grey hair grow out and eventually mix them all... Every 6 months or so I can do it... But here in India, people are very particular about how you look. I'm a public figure. Everyone will start calling me oldy and by other bad names which would upset me ultimately.. not sure what I should do . But got really fedup of hiding my grey hair every 2 weeks. What do you suggest guys......????!!!!

Runaway Monk: When your hair colour lightens naturally it is nature telling you to go lighter

L Alexander: I for one, am totally looking forward to gray hair! I'm 42 and still have dark brown hair. I have green/gray eyes and I will look awesome lol.

Mercedes Runstuck: I love my gray hair!

DeeYankeeinTX: She saved my hair .. I have over 2 inches of my hair growing out and looking forward to a big chop

Linda Mulhall: Well, I expected to go grey fairly early like my mom but no, I took after my dad instead. I'm now in my 70s and i still have nearly no grey. Since I may never go grey, I have highlights done a few times a year to disguise the dozen grey hairs I have.

Mz Clementine: I stopped dying my hair in 2010. I have loads of white hair. So many woman ask me how I got white highlights. So cute because they argue with me thinking I’m hiding my stylist. Nope. The front of my hair has white stripes. And I love it!

Europa 17: All these ladies look fabulous with their gray hair.

JoyceAl: Thanks for this video I’m gonna embrace my silver hair now

susanna graziani: I'm 50 years old and I buzz my hair for make my transition to Grey quickly! Now I feel better.

Sean Jackson: Im a guy and i learned that around 18 my hair is gonna start greying. Im 16 and ill be 17 this year so im trying to have enough time deciding if i should just let my long kinda wavy hair go grey.

h S: looks beautiful and dignified !!

Mary Prestigiacomo: I am so ready to stop dying my hair! I have an appointment to cut almost all my hair off next week just for this purpose.

Friends Fries: Omg, the short hair one, she looks Marvelous. The girl last video, what a Millennium hairstyle changes for her. Makes me wanna cut my hair and get a silver.

Platinum Schmidt: Okay, just on the title. Don't dye your hair... grey is NOT unattractive - it's way less attractive than being 18 again, and you are not, yet the colour is not the issue if that's what you want. I like it. It shows class

Eileen Chmielewski: I just can't believe it takes a year to grow out your hair, when going grey. Ugh...I'm only in month 6. Lord give me strength...

Michelle Perez: They all look so amazing. Dana even looks younger. Beautiful, just beautiful

Gracie M: I'm 64 and I stopped dyeing my hear in 2020 due to covid. I stopped worrying about my gray hair after all, going natural has been positive.

Denny Benz: I am 65 and have embraced my gray hair and it looks better then dying. As long as it is kept neat and style and look elegant it won’t make you look that old.

uKnow: I almost had a heart attack with the transformation of Daiina I did the same exact reaction as Daiina wow! She LOOKS SOFTER in her features with grey hair. Actually she looks a lot more attractive with the white / grey hair then with the darkened hair. God Jesus and Father and Holy Spirit I pray I pray that I don't have grey hair - amen. It's not the color :P It's the shine of the hair but if men women like grey hair no big deal I If grey hair has shine to it I will embrace it myself, but I need that shine!
