Why do young people get gray hair Like skin hair gets its color from melanin, which is produced by melanocyte cells in the hair follicle.. As you age you lose melanocytes and therefore melanin. This creates air pockets in the hair shaft, which gives it that silver gray color.. Typically gray, hairs start appearing in your 30s or 40s, but other factors could speed up the process and lead to premature graying.. These include deficiencies in nutrients like B12 thyroid dysfunction, illnesses like autoimmune diseases or premature aging diseases and oxidative stress from things like smoking, but the most likely cause is genetics. Scientists found that the irf4 gene controls melanin production and is related to hair graying, and one variant in particular rs12203592 can increase the likelihood of someone under 30 going gray by 27 percent. But while you can't change your genes, you could always change your hair. Color

Facterino Commenterino: Today's fact: Butterflies and Moths can drink blood and tears in order to get nutrients. It’s called Mud-puddling. I think more horror movies should use this.

Pheonix Flight: I got early greying from my dad so probably in the next 5 years or so imma go from a brunette to a smokey silvernette. Its a lot to take in and ive became self conscious about it but my friends stuck with me and said id probably look great with grey hair. So for those with early greying, ROCK THAT HAIR! cause we lucky few get to pull off that anime look that others dye their hair for

sam will: Because they looked at the state of the world for 15 uninterrupted seconds and saw the eye of madness.

DandyLion83: It's definitely a genetic trait in my family. My Mom started greying at 16. I got my first few at 14, but my nephew was born with a couple.

Keertika and Fallen Tree: My father and grandfather got grey hair really early in their lives. When I noticed it for me -in my 20s- I was curious and thought it had to do with stress, but when I realized what I mentioned above, I just assumed it was genetics. In all honesty, I find it kinda cool. I don’t think, even if it gets out of ha…ir, I will change the color.

beepboop: Started greying when I was like 12, so did my mom, definitely in my genes

Dante: I saw my first grey hair at 22 and now at 26 I have about a dozen greys. My older half brother on the other hand was almost completely grey by his mid 30s.

The God Emperor: One of my longest and best friends has had gray hair since teen age years cause of a genetic aspect, made him look older when younger lol. Was amusing. Not fully gray, just some

André Luiz: 30-40's???? personally, living all my life in south America, I wouldn't really see anyone below 40's as regular age induced grey hair. I'd actually probably put the gap at 45 - 55 for starting to have grey hair (mom started at ~45, whereas father started at ~55) Dunno if there's something weird coloring my perception or if it is just that different from country to country

zizo: My 19 yo friend has 9-10 grey hairs... I think it's stress

Golden_Boar 06: I'm 16 and my mother sees gray hair on the back of my head. It was due to stress from a lot of school.

Pepe: My little brothers in his 20s with full on grey hair. Started getting grays in jr high.

Sabaidee Bee: I had a few grey strands in HS, a friend of mine did too, but neither of us have grey hairs now, about a decade later

KryptidShadow: I've actually had some since I was around 7-11, considering I hit puberty kind of early.. I have alot more now. Not only that but my Dad had it and with so my sister and brother also have it.

SamKay: Does hair oil also help in avoiding grey hair?

D'Iamante Robinson: I get Grey hair on and off it's a struggle to keep it away started when I was 17

P0tat07: I’m 24, I’d much rather have grey hair than my lack of hair

kaleidoscope: Auto immune disease runs in the family so we'll see

Psycho Kern: We all gonna have white hair like Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul with all this stress

Caution Hazardous: I just like Blocko kicking his lil’ legs

Dante Emmett: I probably wouldn’t get grey hair until I’m like in my 70s in the 2070s.

Nindota: Got grey hair genetics from my mom, who got it from her dad, who got it from his mom

Elena S: I’m 20 and I’m already finding gray hairs.

BLACK LIGHT: I have 0 prob with gray hair as long its: 1-either 0gray hair or all gray hair it looks ugly in between 2-if it doesn't effect my health

The420: now i know y my grandma has almost no grey hair

ExplodingSteve: To be fair it does look cool if it happens

ImParz: My mom got full grey hair at 11

Cliff H.: I wouldn’t mind if my hair went grey. Old people who still have colored hair just look weird

SenneSpeeltSpellen SSS: I’m 16 and I already have gray hairs

Bre da-lee: me who got a white hair at 12 and still has it along with 2 more... *should i be concerned?!*

JChristian Garcia: My literal classmate had a lot lot of white hair, it was not sure but I think it was 3 years ago that is our age are only around 11-13 yo well we were on 6th grade when he got them. Pretty amazed he has so many white hairs for being just a 12 yo

Edison Hou: Had them at 10 years old 17 nealry 18 now with a bunch

Ryan Patambang: Even at some point I've got several white hairs and I'm only 16. it started when i was 14

Earless Robotic Cat: I got my first grey hair at 12

That’s It: “…but while you can’t change your genes” ha, sure you can’t

Vulcan X: I come back after more than 6 months What happened to the real voice actor!

Square Peg: I went bald in my early 20s and started going gray in my early 40s. Oddly enough I got married in my early 20s and my daughter became a teenager in my early 40s.... Coincidence?

kfireven: Its all about what you eat and what you drink!

Captain Azz: My brother once had one strand of white hair and he’s was 4.

Samuel Lololl: #dearblocko who is your animator?

clxxd999: stress and depression

Isaiah Barrios: I thought that was old people…

Animegeek: My grandfather’s hair turned white in his 40’s and 50’s

hello: you mean OLD people, right?

Hi: Make a video about birth

HELLBOY: How else thought of b12 from stray lol

Microwave Gum: I got gray hair during a stressful part of my life. Once I escaped my abuser the gay hair stopped popping up.

UnbeatenPlayz: What about strawberry blonde haired people?

Simonne: I’m 30 and have no grayas

jonoinvielleicht: MELONS??

Dee: BUT HOW DO I GET IT TO GREY EARLY ON PURPOSE!?

Ross Parlette: It's my impression that folks with red hair don't go grey, rather their hair becomes lighter, since there isn't any melanin in it. None of my close friends or family has or had red hair, so I have no direct experience with this.

ishowstrength: im gerying anf im 11
