Darkening Gray Hair

Now, let's take a look at a very cool trick for darkening some gray hairs. Now you don't want to take a person with all gray hair and make their hair black, because that's just flat-out fake. But if you have so a person with some gray hair chances, are they don't think they're as gray as they really are? It'S like that, with every bit of everything in a picture, people tend to think they have more hair than they do and they tend to think it's darker than it really is. So if you're, giving a picture to a person, maybe go in there and make it appear a little bit more like they think of themselves. So what we're going to do is duplicate the layer. I press ctrl J on the PC command J on the Mac. I'M going to work on the duplicate copy, I'm going to go to my tool box and choose the burn tool and then up here make sure you have mid tones because gray hair is generally going to be gray, which means it's in the mid-tone area and I'm Going to drop my opacity down to 20 % and what that does is now. I can start painting on this photo. I just click in paint just like normal and by having at 20 %. I can build the effect up if I had it too high. I'D probably get some pretty harsh shadows start to appear here, so with 20 %. I can build it and come in here, I'm just quickly, painting over and building up the effect, a couple swipes overall couple up here and now we can darken that hair. You don't want to get rid of it totally because, like I said he still, he still got some gray in there. But if you look at the before and you look at the after we've darkened it up nicely and as always since we did that work on a separate layer, we could reel it back in if we wanted to and show a little bit of the original hair. So that's before and that's after a real, quick, easy way to darken somebody's gray hairs.
