I'm in the second year of my gray hair transition journey and it's truly amazing how quickly the two years went by. In the beginning it seemed quite daunting a task to even consider but I'm so glad I did and glad that I have stayed the course and I'm so close to the finish line.

We can do anything we put our mind and heart to!

Hello, hello, deborah berry here, hello, everyone, it's time to talk to you, i love it. I love it. I love it and, as you can see, today's topic is about my second anniversary of my gray: hair transition. It'S been a journey and i'm still on that journey because i refuse to cut the ends and the other day i did a video, i'm going to show it to you. I washed it and then i straighten it. I have a brush that i straightened it with and then i uh curled it so i'll show you that video in in a bit, you have to see it it's crazy, but it shows the really the um the growth from two years ago from two years ago And i'm going to put a i'll put a picture up up on one of these sides up here, probably or here of march 3rd 2020. That'S when i last time i colored it because i colored it for that function, uh that my husband and i had to go to, and it was like this much new growth and i thought all right. I got ta go because i had decided. Then i wanted to stop, but then that came up and i said i can't go looking all crazy, so i colored it and it just looks dull. It just looks lifeless and - and i was probably 10 or 12 pounds - heavier so be kind. I just look like. I love the dress i have on in this picture, but i look like i'm just stuffed, but i wanted to um share with you that if you want to take this journey, it's worth it, it is so so worth it. Let me scoot up some. I feel like i'm sitting far back, it's so worth it and i wanted to to encourage you to do it. Do it do it, do it free yourself. I wish i talked about that in the video, so i don't want to like be redundant. I'M going to, let me show you that video and then i'll show you some products that i'm using on the gray, and i will we'll talk some more and i'll. Have some pictures at the end to uh. Stick around to the end. I'M gon na try to do a slideshow of some pictures through the the 2020 and 2021. up. You can kind of see the progress different styles i wore and everything, but i just want you to know we can do it and you're okay with your gray hair. Whatever color hair you want, i i'm not saying everybody should not dye their hair. Do you be you, take a look at the video i'll be right back finish, straightening, my hair with the straightening tool that i use by launch, and i just wanted to show you in my gray hair transition. I have to still go in and flat iron it or curl it, but i it's been two years. I think i've got maybe three or four inches some areas. I have four inches some areas. I have three inches, but this is what it looks like on its way to being styled and give you an idea a little round about round about roundabouts. You know and it's very thin in the top, but i love the gray up here. Oh, if it was thicker still, this would be so white. This would be fabulous, but you know we learned to work with what we have right. Ladies, so i'm going to let you know i'm going to come back after i i don't know. If i'm going to just do it straight flat or do it with the beach curls, but i wanted to show that to you. This is the process. I just did it and give you an idea of what it looks like. I was going to look in the mirror at it, but and it's kind of fly away now, but it's growing it's. She took off two inches and you see i was just combing, my hair. I have a big. This hair comes out like a very cheap weave. I don't know what it is, and i've been using that virtue on my hair i'll show you that later on i'll show you that i don't have it with me right now. I just wanted to give you an update on what it looks like in the process and how much of the red still here, but you know a couple of more trims because i get it trim twice a year. I mean she takes off, maybe an inch or two, and then i get it again, but then that would have grown down. Whatever'S left would have grown down. But, ladies we'll keep you updated on this transition. Just wanted to show you this and share this with you and after i fix it, a little better i'll show you that and look and we'll get into what it takes and how long it takes. Transitioning is something that's near and dear to my heart, and if you want to do it, go for it go for it go for it. It'S freeing it's it's like you, just discover these new things about your hair and about about your life. You know it gets easier, you don't have to worry about. Oh, i got a function to go to and the gray roots are showing eventually, you know just go with the flow and and let mother nature take over and like let what god gave you be. Just let it be, and whatever god gives me and leaves me with that's what i'm going to work with or put a wig on it. You can always put a wig on it, i'll be right back with another showing for you, okay, bye i'll finish with the curling. I use the curly one. It makes the beach curls beautiful, beautiful curls, as you can see, and you can still see the thinness, but this is i wanted to give you an idea of what it looks like after that, and here you can see all of the gray and just the the Old dye part on the ends there, you can see them right there, i'm looking in a mirror over here. I thought about the pick i did break, but this is how i do it and then you know i pick it and style it which you'll see in the other video. I just wanted to give you an idea to show the progress that it has made and i'mma call it progress, even though it's just coming out. I know i'm harping on that a lot, ladies, but we do not like losing our hair. I don't think men like it well, i know men don't like it. Nobody likes losing their hair. I mean everybody likes their hair. Even you know, no matter what it is, it's your hair and when it goes away, that's like part of you go part of your personalities go, but you just get a new personality anyway, i will pick this out and you'll see it in the video. I just wanted to stick this in here to show you what you know you can really see the progress of of the transition two years transition. Some some women's hair grows really fast, two years they're done and i could have been done if i had cut it off, but you know if i was willing to just cut it off and go shorter, but i didn't want to do that. I wanted to just go through the whole process. Naturally, of course, get the ends cut and if it had been really thick, i probably would have gotten it cut off and just you know, really rocked the black and the gray and silver or whatever, but we'll get there we'll get through it and we'll find a Hairstyle and one that works with with all of this, but you can i mean those i can just do it like this with my hand and get a better feel, but it's you know. I think you should do it if you're on the fence wondering should i do this transition go for it. I mean and right now it's trending do it. While it's trending, you know, i'm sure it was so hard for women who wanted to do it before all of this gray. Hair is the new black or whatever, but do it anyway? If you're thinking about it go for it, you know you can always dye it again. I hope i never have to dye this stuff again. You know just thinking about it such a chore, but anyway, we'll continue with the video and um. I hope you'll try. A transition in your life, hey, it's never too late. Okay, quite a video right! You saw the difference, it was really curly and, as you can see, this is a day or two later. I think i did that the other day and and it's it's darker now, because the oils have set into it now it was so dry. Looking in that video, i know, but uh oils have set in, but it's still it's still thin. On top, you see, i just got it some kind of way here we do, we have to do, but i want to share with you what i've been using. I'Ve been talking to you, and i mentioned the virtue products. This is called virtue, flourish conditioner for thinning hair. This is the shampoo okay, shampoo conditioner, whichever order you want to put it in. It comes like this and there's this density booster. You have to spray this on your scalp every night and kind of massage it in this works fine every night when i'm wearing it natural. You know just with the curls. If i put this on here, it's going to like get all curly and be a mess. So i only reason i did it straight was to show you so you can see the progress of the growth a lot better when it's straight, but the virtue. My stylist told me that some of her clients use this and they swear by it. So i don't know you had to get a three-month thing with it, so it's 134 dollars. I think for for this, and i got one more. I got some mousse with some extra, but so far i don't see a change. It'S only been like two weeks, so you know you got to give something at least six weeks in my book to really see if it works for you, but oh and i'm dripping over here with this, because it's been in the shower. Give me a minute. I took it out the shower thing. I guess it's got water. Sorry anyway, that's virtue! Now something else i use on my hair sit that down a shampoo that i really like. It'S a three-step the meson 276 there's the clarify pre-shampoo. Here'S number two each bottle has a number on it, which is great, and i think i've talked to you about this before this is the hydrate and then number three is to restore, which is the conditioner, and i like this. It makes the grays really sparkle and it was you know: it's a company started by a black woman, beautiful black woman, with the most beautiful white, a little bit of black white silvery, hair really curly, but this is sulfate, free, paraben, free and dea free. So it works. If you want to try this out, it's it's a pretty good deal and it like it smells good. That virtue has a weird smell that i've gotten adjusted to, but it's very medicinal smelling, we'll see what happens. Huh we'll see what happens um. I hope you've been taking care of yourself we're going to get to some fashions again, and i want to thank all my subscribers and i didn't forget. I didn't tell you what's on my lips, it's another chanel, the duo in the raspberry that i was talking about. I'Ll list it below but i'll list all these products below, for you also and enjoy the slide. I hope you you know, enjoy the slideshow. It was my first attempt, so it's not going to be perfect editors out there. Editing people rather anyway enjoy the slideshow and thank you for watching. Thank you for subscribing and if you like this, like it and subscribe and share, give it a thumbs up and remember i'm here, every thursday i love you i'll, see you all next week. Remember you must be the change you want to see in yourself and let's keep it classic, keep it simple and make it all so pretty bye. You

SilvanaM: I really like these gray transition updates. My hair took two years to fully grow out, but it grows very fast. Good thing too, since the stylist I went to for my transition trim cut it way too short. I had to wear a hat for months! Also, FYI to anyone out there gray transitioning: Always check your stylist's flat/curling irons! I went for a cut and her flat iron was so old and cheap, it left a scorched yellowish stripe right in the front. Gray/White/Silver hair is very delicate - nobody tells you that. From now on, I'm bringing my own just in case.

michele S: Congratulations! Love all the various ways you wear your hair! Stunning! Thanks for sharing. ☺️

Karen Thompson: You are so beautiful! ✨I started my second attempt June of this year and am fully committed this time. I have the same streaking as you coming in and my natural hair is dark brown. I also have the reddish brown hair dye to contend with and it’s quite a contrast but it is fun to see the healthy shiny hair growth coming in. I plan to cut my hair into a bob in the spring if I can wait until then. Thank you for your inspiration.✨

Cath Nailtheday: Congratulations!!!!!! Looking fabulous as always xx

Kim Weidner: Oh my goodness, Debra! You look like you can be my sister! You are STUNNING! (not calling myself stunning. LOL) I wear my curly hair natural and have my entire adult life, I’m 52 now. I have never chemically altered my hair, that includes dying it. So, my transition is just let the white grow in. My gray is primarily in my temples, seemingly opposite of yours. I think I’ll blow dry my hair straight this weekend, you have inspired me. Your slide was lovely - and I love your motto about if I want to see change, it starts with myself. ❤️

Ava Lynne: Looking beautiful as ever!

Nelda Nuñez-Corte: Your hair looks beautiful! I also started my transition to gray a little over two years and it’s freeing and about two years since I last use keratin on my hair and without the keratin it looks fuller.

Bekkah Rashadeen: I discovered your channel today, I am so glad it popped up in my feed. I transitioned in 2019, but I couldn't grow it out, I had to do a big chop, and now its shoulder length, and I love it. I tell people it's like silver jewelry coming out of my head, and I love jewelry!!!

Jen Jen: Your gray/silver hair is SO pretty - it perfectly suits you (so do the lip colors you wear).

immamullen: I just adore your videos! I am 52, have been transitioning grey since 12/20. I just got sick of trying to keep up with coloring my hair every week. Anyway, I LOVE my hair, would not change it for anything! I would just wear a wig first lol. God knew what He was doing when He decided to let our hair change colors at a certain age. My biggest challenge now is getting my makeup right so I don't look washed out. It is a work in progress. Thanks for the hair care recommendations, I will check out the Black owned brand.

Karen Townsemd: Thanks for your post as a first time viewer looking at the slides you look younger with the greys.I too have transitioned these last couple of years and my hair is also thinning i have always had very fine baby hair and the die made it course and seemingly thicker so adjusting to it is difficult I am white British and had mouse blonde hair before. You are right we adjust and except and that’s a great inner peace thanks again

Infinite Garden by Beth K: You have beautiful hair thank you for sharing your journey. I love hearing your unique perspective.

Tia's World Order: Awesome video! Love the music and the vibe...and your hair is BEAUTIFUL!!! Its grown SO MUCH since the short cut and I do like the gray on you. Fabulous!

L a L a L a n d + L i p s t i c k: I love this (+ you)!! You be kind (to yourself!)!! You look stunning, as usual! What tool do you use to straighten your hair? I completely understand the struggle of emotions and thinning hair! I feel like I’m the last six months ago I’ve lost nearly 1/2 the volume and I didn’t have much to start with! I’d love to chat and exchange information about different kinds of supplements or products you may have tried regarding the thinning. I can e-mail you. I have an appointment with a dermatologist in a couple weeks. Agree, the vibe is fabulous. I hope you have a beautifully blessed day Debra!! xo Danelle

Angela Mashelle: That white patch is so beautiful. I have a small one that I'm going to let grow out some day

Tiv T: I love your style and videos! You got a new subscriber in me!

Deborah: Hello, I found your channel as a result of reading your comment on Kay's Dress My Day video for 7 spring looks. I really enjoyed your content and hope if I'm granted 70 years to be half as elegant as you are. Thanks for the inspiration.

Gail Bullard: I’m learning so much, watching your videos. Our hair textures seem to me, to be identical.

kimmy1984: Your hair looks beautiful Mrs. Berry.

La-La 1908: You and your hair look beautiful! Research organic sulfur and vitamin C to help with hair shedding. H2O Air Water Americas is where I buy mine. Also, CurlyProverbz YouTube has great tips. I don’t follow all her recommendations but she is a helpful source.

Renee Hampton: I have scarring alopecia. Think of that kind of hair loss. I have to cut all of my hair off. Your hair may be thinning, but I think that is common as we age. Your hair is beautiful and will be more beautiful when it completely transition.

Chris Walker: I always loved your hair ma

FRANCESCA ROQUEMORE:

Hướng Tới Tương Lai: Hey friend. Nice video thank you for sharing

Catherine Hopkins Designs Life: Debra your hair looks so fun straight…. Maybe you can tone the brown tips…. It is not as harsh as coloring and it is a quick process. It will blend quickly and you don’t have to wait so long to see the final result. I’m sorry you are struggling with hair loss… but seriously if you didn’t tell us, we wouldn’t have known. Also, biotin is science backed to reverse hair loss, if it is due to disease like hormonal imbalance, thyroid issues or cancer treatment…. Maybe give it a try. And you are oh so pretty… even if you were bald.

Linda Headrick: What is ur age if I may ask?
