Hey guys! Today I show you how to transition your hair from dyed or blonde to natural gray. My 3rd mom (best friends mom.. Lol) had previously bleached her dark hair blonde in an effort to blend the grey better but as you can see, it still needed some work. Watch how I dye and tone her hair to create a beautiful transition to make it easy for future growth.

If you're, looking for how to transition your beautiful hair into that natural gray, look or you've ever wondered how it was done, this is the video for you, the Volturi. Alright, today we are coming from my friend Raven house. Once again we are doing another hair video. I forgot my tripod, so this is Wiggly. That'S why I look yeah, it's not the most stable picture, but we will be doing some video today. I really want to show you the process of what we're doing. I'M super excited for how this is going to turn out is my first time trying this. So we are doing this video. I have so much coming out we're doing like three hairstyles today, so stay tuned for those hairstyles, hair, coloring and stuff, like that, so anyways, the first one. We are doing online mom, my second mom, which is Ravens mom and she wants to go natural gray. So she's in the process of growing out for natural natural gray, and now she did previously bleach it to a blonde from a really dark color. So I'm gon na be trying to get rid of the blonde. We'Re gon na make it look more blended with the grey, so it will be a better transition for her to fully go gray. So I'm gon na show you what that looks like right now, alright guys so just to show you what we're working with starting out. She has her gray roots growing out at the top. It'S grown out a few inches as you can see, and she has very long thick, beautiful hair, but it is very, very blond, alright. So next I'm going to show you what we need and what we are using to color her hair. These are products I have not previously used, but I think that we're gon na get some really good results. So next I will show you that, alright, to start out the first thing we're doing this time around is coloring her hair. So with this we are using the ion color brilliance, high-lift ash blonde, so that will help lift some of the yellowness and all the blonde that is going on here now to help color over that and then also with doing the lifting and then for that mixture. We have a 20 volume, but you will see actually I'm supposed to be using a 30 volume. But when I do the mixtures you'll see that do actually add 30 volume, but anyways I have I bowl, we have our brush, we have our clip ease and we have our gloves and then for the second. After that, we're doing this T 14 on the Wella color charm for toning, which will help turn it more of the gray color. And then, of course, you always want a good repair conditioning treatment for after use any kind of color like this, and also we got the restorative, a hair mask to make sure our hair stays nice and healthy. Alright, so you've seen her hair you've seen the products we're using. Let'S get this process started alright for our first process we are using, like I said, the color ion color brilliance high lift ash blonde, so I'm gon na get that into the pole. Now it is really really hard to squeeze that out of the oh Jesus after trying really hard and getting all of the the dye out of the tube. I finally can do the mixture. So, as you see, I do unfortunately start out with the 20 volume and mix that up and then I realized my mistake and then I add in the 30 volume. So it probably wasn't as strong of a mixture as it could have been, but also it was probably pretty good because her hair was previously damaged from all the bleaching. So maybe it's a good thing, so it kind of was like a mixture of between 20 and 30 of what is what it actually did all right, and Here I am adding the 30, so the 20 was to kind of get it mixed. The 30 is to get it to the consistency that we need it to be in all right. So here is what we needed for consistency. So let's go ahead and get this on her head, all right. So for application I just sectioned her hair and for I did the two in the front and two on the bottom half section. So I'm applying it on the blondes all the way through the blondes all the way through and then I'm blending it up into the gray. So it's not a straight line of demarcation from her growth, but so that it blends kind of up in an ombre style to kind of make sure it'll just blend up really well, so that when she does continue growing it out, it's gon na look really good And then I do end up using foils, which I will show you. So I have one went ahead and I saw Sifu, so I put the foil on it and then I went ahead and started using my finger just to get some of the die. So I can blend it up really well, just like I do with any semi-permanent dies. I use my fingers and just kind of blend it up into the gray part, and then this is how I do my fold, so I folded it in half and then fold. The other two pieces in I know this is not the best foil job, I'm not a professional. I don't really know how to do this. I'M just doing what I've seen other people do, so I don't have a good technique for doing it, but there you go. It works now, I'm going to show you the next piece and we'll just continue this method, all the way around and tear up doctoral. All of her head is covered in foils and this die all right. So this is what it looks like after all of the foils and sections are done, we're gon na let this set for about 30 minutes, or so I will check the process. Make sure it's good well, rinse it out good, put the repair conditioner in and then we will get to the toning process so after the hair dye was rinsed out. This is the result of that. So you can see it is more of the white whiter blondish kind of color at the top. She does still have a little bit of the yellow toned towards the bottom, but we're gon na take care of all of that right now, with a good toner. All right so for the toner, we are using the Wella color charm t14. This will make her hair gray. If you do not want a grey silver look, do not use this toner. This is what it comes in a little bottle. We have our bowl on our brush again now with this one. You definitely do want to use the 20 volume, don't use anything higher than that. You really don't want to damage your hair. It'S mostly just ammonia, which is causing it's gon na, have a little bit of lift, but also just toning to get the color out and make it that gray color, but anyways. Here'S the liquid we put in our 20 volume and we're gon na mix that up really good and it's oh and the parts it's one part of the whole bottle of the toner and then two parts developer. So, for the consistency of this, you will have a gelatinous nasty-looking mixture, but this is what it looks like: let's go ahead and get this on her head all right, so for the application of this it isn't, it does go on more of like an oily kind Of consistent, like a shampoo kind of definitely a thinner mixture than the hair dye was, and this I am starting off at the top and we're just going to go again section by section all around her head and thin sections until we coat the entire hair. And Here I am blending the toner up into the gray section again, just like I did with the dye to keep with the ombre effect, and I am not using foils this time around. It'S just not really necessary, but again, let's just separate all the strands make sure it all gets good, and surprisingly, it started turning the hair gray, pretty quick, alright. So here it is, after everything is done and on her hair you can already see a lot of that gray coming through really showing on her hair. So next we will leave this on for about 30 minutes or so rinse that out again with the conditioner and see the final result. Alright. So here is the final result. So with this, you can see how the gray really blends down, extends further down her hair than what it was. You don't see that big line of blonde where it was originally, she does still have some blonde towards the ends, but it is so much better of a transition and eventually, if she does get that trimmed often you will see that gone as well and it'll. Just be good for her to grow out, alright guys. Well, that is the end of this video. I hope you guys have enjoyed it. I think that it turned out really well considering. This was my first time ever trying anything like this. I like getting experience like this, so it was really awesome burn and let me do her hair. I am NOT a professional. I just am learning.
