This is the first time that i try the cold brew, because i always just get the regular coffee, but it's pretty good. You just need to make sure to not add that much, but i added a good amount, so anyways hey, what's up you guys welcome back. If you're new here, my name is emily, and today we are going to do something that i've been wanting to do for such a long time now, and since i'm leaving for a trip this week with my siblings. It must be done, and that is prepare yourself, because i'm about to expose myself and yeah i'm just gon na, do it i'm just gon na i'm, just gon na tell you guys. I'M gon na go get my hair done, because we have this problem here. So, let's move over to the dining nook, so we can discuss further okay. So, like i said, i'm going to go, get my hair done today. I normally wouldn't expose myself and share all my gray hairs directly to the camera, but recently i shared a little bit about my situation over on tick tock and i actually got a good response from it. A lot of people were sharing how they have the same problem and they started super young like me, and obviously there was a bunch of people that were also like, oh my gosh you're, so young, to have all that gray hair. Why do you have that gray hair? Like obviously i know i'm young to have this hair, but but anyways? That'S why i wanted to make this video, because i'm going to get my hair done and i'm really excited, and i wanted to go ahead and just share a bit more about the whole situation, because maybe you guys have the same problems or you're just interested in Knowing why this is an issue um - and i can share a little bit more about like how i keep up with it - obviously i have not been keeping up with it ever since quarantine and stuff, but obviously, since i'm going on my trip like i want to Get it done so i can be putting my hair up without any issues or anything like that. I just feel more comfortable, obviously dyeing my hair but anyways. I wanted to share more about my experience with gray hairs, so i started noticing gray hair when i was a freshman in high school, so i was like 14 15. um, but it was just like here and there it was always it. It did always start like in the front, but it was very small hairs um. My mom would tell me not to pluck it because obviously more would grow, but i plucked some or i don't even know. If that's a true thing that more grow. Let me know if you know, but anyways sometimes i would plug them. Sometimes i wouldn't and ways that i would cover them up would be like with mascara, since they were just one at a time. I would just pick the hair and, like use mascara to color it. That was fine. Obviously i didn't. I didn't care really, but the reason why i started so young is because it's hereditary. It'S in my jeans. I got this from my dad. My dad started getting gray hairs when he was young. My mom told me, and she told me that when they met he would like dye his hair, or he would also use like mascara to like touch it up. Sometimes - and things like that, so i kind of got the mascara thing from her idea, but anyways as time went on obviously more started showing up, and i didn't really notice it to be like that big of an issue until like my last years of college, i Think and then, like obviously after college, i just remember - i always had like my gray hairs, but they were never like. They were always just under the hair and it wouldn't be like. I said that big of a problem, but once i noticed it as more of a problem, i started box dyeing it and slowly like the color. Just i had like a bunch of colors in my hair. Basically, because sometimes i would go with like a dark brown or a jet black or whatever, so i my hair is like, i think it's slowly getting into like its natural color. Obviously the ends of my hair. You know what my natural color is. My color is just like a dark brown. Some people say it's black, but no it's a dark brown, so yeah i've been doing years and years of box dye. I think i would literally have to dye it every month. I basically have to dye it every month. If i want to keep keep up with it, you know but anyways since covet and lockdown happened. Obviously more people started being more casual, not really caring too much about stuff like their hair right. So i stopped dyeing it. I would let it grow a lot more slowly. I started to feel a little bit more comfortable with like learning how to cover it up and things like that. But since i moved back to san diego, i have a really good salon here that all my friends like and they recommended i go there. So i've been going there to get my hair done professionally. So that way we can slowly get to the color of my natural hair. Since i had like years and years of box dye in my hair, so yeah, i'm gon na go there today and i'm excited because we're gon na obviously cover up the grays, and i'm also going to do like a trim, and i think i'm gon na. Do the curtain beings that i did a while back, but going back into the whole like maintaining it? I really do need to dye my hair like of every month. If i really really want to keep it up because the grays will, i swear start showing up within two weeks that i dye my hair and obviously it's because my hair is growing. My hair does grow pretty fast. I noticed so yeah. My hair just grows back really fast or who knows? Maybe the color just doesn't stick because if you have gray hairs then you know they are so so strong and maybe it's just the color does not stay well on them because they're just ridiculously like intense, like i don't know, but anyways. If you have some gray hairs and they're not like this, and you just want to cover it up, i used mascara like every once in a while, just to like help a little bit, but i hate it. It literally just clumps your hair, but i would just do that sometimes like worst case scenario, if i really really need to cover it, but something else that i heard about was using eyeshadow i've never used eyeshadow. If you do, then let me know how it is, but anyways, if there's anything specific, that you guys do to cover your gray hairs. Please let me know, because after this session of getting my hair done, i'm going to stop for a bit. I really want to try stopping, because i can't be spending money every single month to dye my hair, like, let's be real. There is another product that i started using. It is the reason why i made the tik tok video because it was like testing out a product. So let me bring that so i can show you guys okay, so this is the product that i tested out on tick tock and it's to cover your gray hairs. There. You go it's the l'oreal, paris magic root cover-up and i got it in the color dark brown. I actually really liked this because, obviously i'm not using it as like an alternative of dyeing my hair, it's just for like when i'm going out or something because obviously the gray hairs are really like up front right here. I can just go like this spray. It right where it frames my face and then it'll just do the job for the night right so yeah. I just use it for that. I got a mix of reviews from it. Some people said that they hate it because it leaves your hair a little bit stiff, which i totally get, but i'm not one to like run my fingers through my hair like constantly or anything, especially if i know that i have this in my hair, like i'm. Not gon na be touching my hair. Another thing that i really don't like too much is that the product like, if you do touch it, it will come off a little bit on your hands but, like i said like i do it mostly like in here. So i'm not really touching that part of my hair, especially if i know it's on there, but for a quick fix. I do like it because i haven't used anything else that covers it that quickly and effectively, but again, if there's anything that you guys recommend, then please, let me know. Okay, i moved over to the bathroom because somebody's using the leaf blower outside and it was really bugging me sorry if you can hear it anyways, so i wanted to just give you guys a little closer look at them, so you can get the full before and After so, this is how long my hair is down to here and then my bangs are really like they're, not they're, not good, and my hair is pretty thin. I'M really thankful about my hair. It'S really easy to style, but obviously you have to have a fault with everything and my fault is my gray hairs but um. Let me put it up, so you guys could see and honestly, i'm really happy with the response that i got on tick tock. A lot of people were telling me to let it grow out that it looks really good that people pay lots of money to go platinum and then i should just embrace it, and i do want to embrace it eventually. But since i'm going on my trip, i really just want to be the most comfortable and i don't think that for a trip is when i want to just have my hair like this okay, so i just did a quick half up half down thing, so you Could see how they're all just like in there and yeah like i was saying the reaction that i got on tick tock made me feel so much better about it, because i've always been super insecure about it. Everybody always says like. Oh, you can't even tell - or it doesn't look bad on you, but obviously it doesn't matter unless, like you feel comfortable about it so for the longest i haven't been comfortable, i feel so much more comfortable now, but kind of just because it's been through camera. So i'm not like physically seeing the people that are seeing my gray hair because stuff i'm not in public, like i'm, not going to be out like this, like i'm not at that point at all, but i think this is a good step. I always told myself that once i am like a little bit older, then i'm down to just color the entire thing, silver or gray or whatever i'm just 26 years old right now. So i don't see myself doing that. Yet you know i'm thinking like late 30s or something who knows all i know is that for now i'm just going to get it colored every now and then and slowly just feel more comfortable with letting it grow out. Yeah, just exposing myself here guys, if you have this problem as well, please share because apparently a lot of people do so. If you're in the salt and pepper hair club too, then let me know, let's be friends and exchange tips, but yeah just wanted to show you guys the before. I am going to head out to target before my appointment, but i will come back and show you guys what it looks like after hey guys, i'm back from getting my hair done and it looks so good. The kanas are all covered, i'm so so happy. A lot of time has passed because when i got back i was filming like a transition video or i was finishing up - a transition, video for tick tock and oh my gosh. I don't even know how long i took, because you know when you like, take a bunch of pictures and then none of them look good. It was the same thing with the video like the after, because i'm still like trying to get used to the bangs again, and i think i got it so if you want to see how that turned out, then follow me on tick tock but anyways. I just wanted to share with you guys how it looks after so yeah right now. What i'm going to do is make some dinner. I believe, and then i have to get started on packing because i'm heading to la tomorrow, because my siblings and i are flying out from l.a. So we can just like hang out and basically just get ready for the trip together. But i'm definitely going to be vlogging. The trip - and i know i haven't said where i'm going yet because i just want to wait so you can like see the vlog. I guess, but that's basically it i'm just gon na end the video here, because i have a lot to do today, went by so fast and, like i said i need to pack and it's just um and although packing doesn't take me that long, i just need To get in the zone play some music or put something on my phone for like a show or something which, by the way, i'm almost done with sex in the city uh, i'm i'm literally on the last season, like i think, i'm halfway on the last season And i am so sad, i don't want it to end, but at least after the show i have the movies and then after the movies they're having like uh a sequel. I think that's what it is um, but yeah, i'm excited for that. Next time. You guys see me i'mma be on vacation and i think that means that the videos are going to be a little bit late, because obviously i can't edit during vacation but yeah. Thank you guys for hanging out with me and for coming along with me to get my hair done. Don'T forget to like this video if you liked it and subscribe, if you haven't already, because those vacation vlogs would be so fun so definitely subscribe. If you guys want to see those and don't forget to follow me on instagram and tick tock, because i post other type of content over there and thank you guys again, i will see you next time.

Tina Le: Love that you are sharing this and it honestly makes me feel so much better about my grey hairs!

Shnouli Mukherjee: I am 24 and started going gray at 16. It is one of my biggest insecurities and girl ...I know how it feels . Love to everyone who's suffering from this, love you all. I feel like an imposter, there's this guy I'm talking and I feel like I am catfishing him by not telling him that I have gray hair.

Aury: You are so brave Emily! Embrace your canas whenever you feel is time! For now, you look stunning with and without them really. (I should probably go and say it to myself in the mirror because they are also showing up lately hahaha) Thank you for voicing it! Enjoy your trip!!

Josephine Bopp: I know that gray hair is a big issue for a lot of young people /adults. But I think it really looks good on you! And it's super brave to show on YouTube. Also the new cut looks great on you! Loving the curtain bangs ❤️

Alicia Frausto: Your gray hair is so beautiful!! I recommend keeping it, it’s so unique!! Your gray hairs are not a fault. Supporting you in your journey to embrace it

Kristen 💕: I just found you but I’m so glad I did! I noticed greys when I was about 16 & went to a salon & the lady told me I had a pigment issue in my scalp. Idk but I’m 27 now & I have a good amount of grey hair in the same places you do, plus some random ones throughout my whole head. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️

Jennifer Vallecillo: I have super black hair and have this problem! Got it from my mom. Thanks for sharing, I also felt very insecure about this but seeing this video made me feel better that I’m not in this alone. Going to check out your tik tok :)

Katy likesBasil: Have you ever experienced the “shock” of other people about going grey early And how sorry for you they are? I have found that the hardest thing :(

ALT Alex: I’m 22 and noticed my first Cana at 15 too! It’s been progressively more noticeable for me at my hair part in the middle, mostly on the right side. I’ve been dying it since 18 until now, also got it through genetics but lately I’ve been embracing it, since I’ve been at home for summer break. I’m hoping I can still be brave to grow it out when I go back to university but thank you for sharing, I feel much better about myself when I can relate to people about this

Coco Jo: It makes me sad how you refer to this as a "problem". It is not a problem. It's just a thing that you and MANY other people experience! You are beautiful either way. I actually love the gray look!

np: I started graying early i think it’s from stress tbh and that stresses me out even more

Kate Wright: I think you look beautiful regardless!! Sending so much love to you, and thank you for posting this!

Thanai Jasmine: Emily, you already know, I’m here for it ! Stahhp!!!! I’m in my thirties, you’re still BEAUTIFUL & brave, just do you babes ☺️! ❤️

MBear: Your hair looks incredible with the gray! I don’t think you need to cover it at all - you look amazing and there are people in salons trying to get that beautiful pattern obviously it’s your call but grays are not a problem, issue, or fault. Listen to the folks who want you to embrace and get comfortable- conquer your fear by ripping off the band aid and going outside

Jennifer Naomi: Same girl same! 26 and half my whole head is already grey! I also get it from my dad’s side of the family! I use that spray and just deal with the black fingernails from touching it lol Your hair is beautiful!

Tiffany: First off... *CONGRATS on 8K!!!* Also, my hair has gotten really thin starting Dec 2019, to the point I just started using 2% Minoxidil (women's rogaine). I was using the Loreal one but like you said it makes it somewhat stiff. What I find that is much better is the Batiste Divine Dark Dry Shampoo Spray. I do have some grays but I don't really use it for that, mostly cuz of how thin it is. So I would give that a try instead because you can still move the hair around easier because it's a dry shampoo. I am looking for more brands as well... anyone who has found something else let me know! Something else you could try for the gray situation is to have them use a demi-permanent color on your new growth. I am a hair stylist and that's what I did for clients who didn't like the harsh demarcation line permanent color has as it grows out. It's important to note though that since it's only the demi will NOT give you 100% full coverage on gray hair. But that's kind of the point, it's a much softer grow out. Something to consider!

Cristina Lopez: Omg finally i see someone like me. I am also full of gray hair and i am in my 30’s. It sucks big time because you have to color it so frequently but it’s worth it I believe. Love the end result babe. Thanks for sharing .

Ange o: Your hair is beautiful when you do decide to go grey it Will definitely look good on you I get where your coming from I’m young with grey hairs and my hair is very dark I’m just not ready to have grey hair yet I like my dark hair

Habesha M: Hey Emily! you're stunning!!! I also noticed a few greys on my head at 19, but in my case I don't know the source of it. No one in my family has it :)

Nancy Garcia: I’m 26 and also have gray hair! I really like your growth pattern. I don’t have a ton concentrated in a specific spot (except the lobe area) so mines are like highlights throughout. I’ve been growing my grays out for about 7 months and I’ve learned a lot during this process but one thing I will say is do what feels right to you. Want to cover them? Great! Want to grow them out? Great! You will know when you’re ready to grow them out, because that’s a process in of its own and until then, continue to cover them or do whatever works best for you!

ruchi: Thanks alot for sharing this. I feel much more secure now Love you ❤️

Rachel Schmidt: Girl, do whatever makes you feel the best! So interesting some people have something to say about it though. It’s not their hair ‍♀️ lol

M.Hads: Never pluck the greys! You can hurt the hair follicle and those hairs won’t grow back, and you will be bald in areas that you pluck. I rather be grey then bald Also i grey around my temples also.. it’s not noticeable when my hair is down but you do see when it’s up, but honestly I don’t care ‍♀️

Cristal Hernandez-Ayala: I have lots of grey,I know the feeling I’ve always had long dark brown hair, tried adding highlights big mistakes do not recommend it. Now im trying to get salt pepper silver hair hopefully turns out good been growing it out for about 5 months now always talk about im going to embrace it but its hard i end up wearing my hat. It feels good makes me more confident im not only one going grey so young thanks for sharing.

Mara Troche: Ok I'm a lot older then you and I finally let my gray come in and I love it. There are a lot of young girls embracing it. I think it will look good on you. But only when you are ready .

Fiona O'Keefe: Honestly, the more I look at Emily and then see her hair, I’m thinking you know Emily would look stunning with salt and pepper hair! I think she could pull that look off, I really do she has a beautiful face and then with the thickness of her hair, I’m like Emily would look amazingas she is naturally pretty anyway! Either way, Emily can’t go wrong!

Ana E.: Your canas are not a problem. You kept saying that and it made me low key sad. Yes, dye them if it makes you feel better. You are beautiful canas or not. Genes are mad crazy! We are all biological/chemical masterpieces. Ps: I’m part of the canas gang too.

DamaV425: I am 31 and have had gray hair also really young and have stoped dying it, and I like it, they look like natural free highlights lol people always bring them up tho because they see them, I’m ok with it!! I don’t care tbh!!! Gray hair is beautiful

Izzy G: Exact same story. They started coming in more during college. I have dark dark brown/black hair too. Starting to wonder if there is something related to almost black hair. I’m now 40, and I color it, and I try not to wash my hair but only once a week. (My hair is dry, so I can’t wash more). It starts to grow in before the next wash. After that wash, you can see color going down the drain. mine started at the same spot! People tell me to embrace it too…proud of those that can…I just CANNOT yet. I dont know when I will. I look young, but this grey is HELL!!! That L’Oréal spray is terrible. It gets sticky and runs in the heat. Clairol came out with a great make up that really works. I hate things that make it sticky. Especially before going to color. I do professional every once in a while. Just to even out all the color fixed. It gets too expensive. I have to do root touch up for 20 mins, instead of 10 mins. It is good, but it’s every 2 weeks! At least you don’t get the dreaded “fence”. As soon as it grows, it’s a fence of grey/black. Sorry you’re suffering with this too. Keep everyone updated if you find another way!!!

Nahlah Mata Bey: I get coloring your hair cause you don't feel ready to let et go gray but I ALSO think the salt and pepper color is lovely ☺️

Max Arenas: You are so brave. Thank you. We love you.

قصص zayan hiin: When I was 7 years old I had 3 white tufts, then in the 25th stage it increased 10 grains and in 35 years I have a silvery gray half in front of me but I love it and adore white hair and all the bullies were shocked or surprised, and they are unable to talk about me in front

RAANOHON KHALILOVA: Thank you so much for sharing, you are so beautiful , mine was early age too

Albert Nava: Started at high school now I’m 29 and it’s noticeable I was a little scared, I would hide it with a hat now I don’t care looks sick

500carrillo: I’m 26 and this year my grays have come out ☹️☹️☹️ it’s honestly kinda scary for me! I really don’t like mine

Elia DeLeon: Hey friend I too have silver highlights. I started graying in my late 20s I’m 39 %80 gray

Katie Stanley: I started w grays hair when I was 18. I stared dying it more and more. Right before covid I was dying it twice a week because it was growing so fast. When Covid happened and everything shut down, I started box dying it. It was causing my hair to fall out. So, I bit the bullet. I let it grow gray. It’s taken a while but I absolutely love it now. Wish I would have left it along sooner.

Mary Jean Tigoylo: I had same problems too..

Simply Sane: I have same type of grey it just started appearing though but i am not comfortable with it

Andrea Becerra: I started when I was 17. I’m 30 and hate it

Yareth Arvizu: Estaba feliz con los subtítulos en español de el vídeo pasado, creí que ahora todos tus vídeos los tendrían

Ella Enrique: How long did the professional touch up last for?? Until u had to reapply?

Bilal Ahmed: I had grey hair as a teenager.

Isha Sehgal: Hey .... I'm just 18 years old ...and all my hairs are getting to start grey ...I do cover them by colouring ...but it lasts just for a month ...can u plz tell me for how much time your colour stay ?

Christina Gonzalez: Now they have root touch up other brands like mini spray can they colors that matches ur true hair colors depending on how ur styling your hair I do recommend wash it out later same day it’s a temporary cover up matches your hair color those on a budget why call root touch up, or go to a salon

Belen C: Youre a Beauty Emily! :)

ErikinManhattan777: doesn't using hair mascara cause more grey hairs to grow???

Iron Lake: What dye you use ? I'm a guy with a short hair. I have lots of greys due to depression stress. I'm only 25 right now

Seth Remis: I appreciate you very much

Kill the light: That’s not a problem actually it’s natural

Brenda: Still gorgeous!!

Dina Hassan: I have same exact when I was 17 years old

Melissa M: My brother has gray hairs at the age of two

Maggie Blackhall: I've been looking for a good salon in San Diego, can you share which one you went to?

Sanam khan: i have grey hair i am 27 and it make me feel anxiius but i dont want to color it coz it will increase my grey hair

Christina C: I read putting more copper in our diets will help. I hope so.

Reynabella Loves: Fabulous just fabulous!

Arisbeth Gastelum: Love ur canas, but I agree with u, you r too young to go platinum. Have lots of fun on ur trip. I’ll wait for u here. Lol

Christina Gonzalez: Have thought of go with grey highlight and black hair can blend in with your natural grays won’t even tell they’re your natural grays I seen on Pinterest black and grey not for just older ladies, but for younger look hairstyle can camouflage with your black, and grey hope this helps o know this year old posts video I’m just tuning in to your channel hope this helps

Kendra Voracek: ❤❤

Luisa Pasillas: I need a hair salon in SD too! Please share

500carrillo: Girl same!!

Serendipity: Do you have an email associated with your channel. I have a bunch of great hair tips for you - but too long to put in this comment section!!

maria cruz: Use natural instincts its cheap

Jenna Boller: What salon did you go to?

Kathy V.: Omg. I have salt n pepper hair also. Everyone else at work are either all gray or all white. In the beginning I hated it but then I noticed salt n pepper hair had more dimension too it and didn't make you look as old, lol. Now I love it! But yours look AMAZING cause your hair is so black! I truly looks great on you!

LADY BIRD: I have Gray hair 14 years old

Christina Gonzalez: Funny u mentioned LA where I’m heading out 2 more weeks meeting up event party family

G Ghe: Hi I also have greys and am 27! Not as much as yours but not so less either! I'm really insecure about mine, I box dye a color close to my natural hair but only on the greys. I do this once a week cause I really cant stand the sight of even a little bit of grey on me and I guess my hair grows fast. If I leave it two weeks without dying the greys that come out just look terrible to me. Not sure how people go longer than that without dying their hairs, feel like it gets obvious there are greys and also find the sprays messy especially with transfer on my pillow and accidentally on my hands when I forget it's there also don't feel like it covers the area in a natural way looks spotty on my hairline where most of my greys are. Would love to know anyone elses tips for covering their grey hairs.
