What'S up guys is running here from Lake Marina? I got my daughter Tessa here and Tesla's been really good. All we could stolen when she does good at school. We actually bring her here to the fold Ivan if I'll pay the cam around here you'll see, we've got other students in the pool tonight, so I'm gon na spend a little bit of time with my daughter, but I wanted to make a quick video for you. Ladies out there first of all, I'm not a lady, I am I got. However, I have been in this industry very very long time, and I want to give the ladies a little pointer if you happen to be in the same situation as my daughter, where you have this long, beautiful flowing hair. Sometimes that can cause trouble when you're trying to see your mask not necessarily to your face, but when you're trying to seal the massacre or the strap itself to your head now, I'm gon na show you a little pointers that I give a lot of. Ladies out there - and I know it - helps out Tessa, so I'm going to show you how we do her hair anytime, that she's trying to get her mask on. But before I do that, I want to show you some of the problems so Tessa. If you will go ahead and put your mask on for me, pull the Stroud area gay now one thing that you noticed she put her mask on first and then she pulled her strap over. That'S a good thing. I see a lot of people try to put their strap on then they'll pull their mass down, and what that does is that caused all these bangs to kind of pull down? You never want to do that. You always want to put your mask on and pull your strap over, but if she turns sideways you'll see the strap is way down here below her ears. We don't want that. We want that strap actually up above the ears. So what we're gon na do is we're going to pull the strap up above our ears, but now the problem we run into you'll see her her pigtails there or ponytails starting to get in the way and it's just a clotted mess and it's really a pain To deal with yeah, I got him out and cold and it's just too much trouble now. Obviously she could cut her hair, but I can tell you right now: is her father she's, never gon na cut her hair. I love her long, beautiful hair. You can't get it stuck, so how about we fix that problem, so we're we're not gon na have trouble underwater and we don't have trouble up here right. I heard your ears behind. Take it off we're gon na show everybody how how we fixed the problem. Hopefully, it's only study, and hopefully this will help you, ladies out as well turn around for me. We'Re gon na take her pigtails and we're gon na get rid of these scrunchies. What is it you, a mommy column, hair ties very good. I'Ve said guys, I'm not a girl on the guy. I really don't know what these things are called. Sorry we're gon na get these hair ties out here. The best I can without ripping her hair out. You should've done that before we've done probably should have, especially for your hair got soaking wet all right. We bout got this one. I don't think I'm holding these strands of hair out. Let'S see if we get the dress in this one now, hopefully I don't have to touch your pigtails off yeah. I hope not, except maybe this yeah, this one's kind of tied in a knot here, all right. We got one out. Let'S get this over now. Let'S see, if daddy can do it, that pulling your hair out all right, we got our pigtails out now turn to the so the camera can see you. This is one of the things that I do with test this hair and I actually recommend to all my female students doing if they have long hair. This is really gon na help prevent that hair just flopping around which does make some cool underwater shots. However, it's not very practical, so hopefully this little table put healthiest go ahead, turn around for me. The first thing: you're gon na do split the hair into three different sections. Just like you're gon na do a braid and that's actually what we're gon na do. Okay, yeah now, obviously we're going to braid her hair all the way down, but we want that brain super duper time, because what we want the hair to do is actually sit flat against her head, like that. Now, by bereavement, it's going to keep all this from flopping around underwater, but vibrating and very tight. It'S gon na give a good flat spot for her mask strap to sit flat on so I'm gon na do is just a quick braid here see if we can get this done. Oh no what'd! You do with it, and I know some of you, ladies, are probably cringing right now. How I'm doing this, but trust me, it works when you're underwater all right we're gon na take a hair tie here. I'M gon na finish off the bottom. Okay, now we've got a good flat spot, but the problem with it is, we still got a lot of flop here, so we're gon na have to get rid of that flop. Now. Another cool thing that you can do is actually do a ponytail first and do a pretty high ponytail so way up here and then you're gon na braid that ponytail just as tight as you can get it. But what I actually like to do is to braid it first and then I'm going to get it as tight as I can at the base of her neck and I'm gon na put another what you call them. Hair ties put one here at the very base of her neck that hurt all right. So now we have a good, solid flat spot back here so now test the turn around put your mask on for everybody. You don't think it'll work we'll see if it works. Love you all right, as we can see now, the strap is above her ears. It'S not scrunching her ears down as well. I'Ve got a nice flat spot for ponytail is actually pulled down, it's actually a branded ponytail now and what that's going to prevent is her hair from flopping around during the dive as well. I'Ve seen some female divers who, don't you say a mass trap cover they'll. Actually put their hair through the mass trap itself, but the problem with that is: is it's gon na prevent you from taking it off so as Tessa pull their hair out? This way better, probably kill over the top the problems he runs in now go ahead and turn around sure bite. Your strap cover is actually over her ears and we don't want that and show them what happens when you take your mask off. It'S stuck right. So typically underwater would be stuck because it catch on their bow so anytime, if you've got long hair. If you would do a tight braid with a low ponytail, you don't want a high ponytail, but a top braid with a low ponytail. It'S going to create a nice flat spot for your strap. Is it kind of laid flat on it and go ahead and turn around put your mask on one more time? It probably will there, you go, put the mask on and pull the strap all right. Now, once you do a mask you'll, take your mask off. Just like we do underwater comes right off and how do we put it back home, very good, Masterson strap and, as you can see, she doesn't have that problem that she normally. Would that feeling better? That'S right through! You knows right all right. You ready get back in water. I go splash, hopefully that helps you out for all the lady divers out there. If you'll do that real top rate with the real low ponytail, I think it'll help you out a lot, especially if you have trouble with your mass. Try not to get in the habit of pulling your ponytail either through the strap cover or even over the strap cover, because that can cause some troubles whenever you're taking your mask on off. But try this tip out and let me know down in the comment section below if that helps you out. If you got any suggestions for female divers out there, please put that down in the comment section below and let me know what you do to help you out. jordane k.: Your daughter is too cute how excited she looks! Great job mr.Dad! Thank you for learning girls hair ❤ not many dads have that braggable skill!

Ryan’s River Finds: That’s the sign of a good father when you can braid your daughter hair

William Sample: The greatest frustration I see my wife struggle with is using an exposure suit with integrated hood. She uses the Hollis Neotek. Perhaps a video showing techniques to minimize that frustration? I’m guessing much of the same ideas apply from the braiding.

Mad Chemist: . What a lovely daughter you have! I have the same problem, my hair is below my waistline now. Tried everything . High up pony tail, braid the hair, put it into a bun, followed by lots and lots of pins.

TheLoosenit2: that smile when you told her to go splash!  thanks for the tips..i have a daughter and am still struggling with how to get her hair under control.

GlamazonBarbie: I love your videos and watch all of them. This was a wonderful video where you are trying to help long haired, especially female, divers. However, I have one suggestion, especially from ocean divers like me. The braided pony tail is wonderful gear wise, but us ladies still have to try to get a brush through our hair at the end of the day. Before braiding add a Leave-In-Conditioner to the hair. I only use the Stream2Sea https://stream2sea.com/?s=leave+in+conditioner. I buy a big bottle of it to share with my students. Once you take out the braid you will actually be able to get a brush through your hair at the end of the day. Thanks again for sharing, especially including your daughter. She is about the same age as my niece and just as adorable. Her Aunt Becca (me) is gonna make her a scuba diver one day too. Thanks again for yet another awesome video, but consider the leave-in conditioner. I know your daughter will love it, especially after hours in salt water.

Aaron Marshall: That’s about how it goes every Sunday morning with my daughter and her hair. I feel your struggle man. Haha

Sam Angello: I think you should start a whole channel on hairstyling videos

QueenB: It ain't the mask I have the issue with, my drysuit kills my scalp!! Will definitely try this (although my hair is much shorter). Thank you

Rev Tech Marine: We tried the single braids problem that we found was that the mask with rotate from left to right if the head was move too quickly personally we like the double braided handle bar which makes it little more stable on each side

Carlos Soltero: My three daughters are divers! I shared the video with them!

Ivory Johnson: Great job dad !!!!!! Also great video as well

leah yeahnah: We were taught in the ow to put the straps on first if you're wearing a hood

Chronic Awareness: im sorry man as a dude with long hair the rubber band things a huge no no ... to any women out there you know what i mean..... rubber bands.... long hair and dive masks... every time you use a mask like that you rip out hair... after a while you end up with a whole bunch of short hair towards the from of your forehead like your daughter has... now shes a kid but a adult wouldnt do this more then once after then feel all the hairs ripping...not saying yor doing anything bad or wrong your just a dad whos never had long hair... and dude my long hair gets me laid...so you cant be messing arouind with hair.. every strain of hair counts.... as a dude with long hair ima have to say id rather use swimmers cap or a way to contain the hair like swim suit, then use a mask.... any women out there or guys with long hair who dont use a swim suit or swim cap has fucked up hair 100% guaranteed... youll have all the hair towards your forehead shorter then the rest of your hair giving you a fuzzy mess of hair growing at different stages constantly

Scott Selkey: The SSI braid cert!

Josh Adler: It may be time to invest in a new mic....
